Italienisches Restaurant mit nettem Service und authentischer, sardischer Küche. Für einige der Gruppe war das After-Shave/Deo des Service zu aufdringlich. Die Gerichte, egal ob Vorspeise oder Hauptgericht, wurden (bis auf das Lamm als Hauptgericht) von allen als hervorragend bezeichnet. Preis / Leistung war bei der Oktopus-Vorspeise nicht passend.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Ausgezeichnetes italienisches Restaurant. Das Essen war sehr frisch, hervorragend zubereitet und von hoher Qualität. Der Service war durchweg tadellos. Beim Dessert gab es am Ende eine kleine Verzögerung, da nur zwei Kellner im Dienst waren. Dies hat unseren Eindruck jedoch nicht beeinträchtigt, da beide jederzeit sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und zuvorkommend waren. Insgesamt ein sehr angenehmes Erlebnis, das ich wärmstens empfehlen kann.

Sehr leckere Trüffel Pasta und sehr nettes Personal !

Das Essen war sehr lecker und schön hergerichtet, die Nudeln perfekt gekocht und die Beilagen dazu sehr passend und harmonierend. Das Personal war zudem sehr nett und zuvorkommend.

Die Bewertungen sind weit weg von der Realität 😒. Der Service war gut. Hier gibt es nichts zu beanstanden. Die Reservierung online hat auch sehr gut funktioniert. Das Essen ist leider sehr weit von der früheren Qualität der Costa entfernt. Das Vitello Tonnato war früher outstanding gut, heute nur noch mittelmäßig. Das Fleisch war trocken und komplett durch, die Soße sehr Geschmacks neutral und was haben Granatapfelkerne auf dem Gericht verloren. Der Hauptgang, die Garpunkte waren bei zwei von vier Tellern ok, der Rest leider nok. Beilage gefühlt nicht sauber abgeschmeckt. Soßen waren ok aber auch hier etwas dezent in der Menge. Der Nachtisch war gut. Als resume, wir streichen die Costa von unserer Restaurant Liste. Es gibt genug Italienische Restaurants in Mannheim die das besser können. Schade ☹️

Ich habe mit einer Freundesgruppe meinen Geburtstag im Costa Smeralda gefeiert. Das Essen und der Service waren hervorragend, aber mein Geburtstagstisch war, trotz Vorbesprechung bei der Reservierung, sehr lieblos, bzw. garnicht, eingedeckt. Keine Tischdecke, keine Stoffservietten, nicht mal ein Blümchen. Darüber war ich enttäuscht.

Sehr schönes Lokal mit qualitativ hochwertigen Gerichten. Die Auswahl an Gerichten ist begrenzt aber sehr gut gewählt und ausreichend. Die Spaghetti Bottarga sind äußerst lecker gewesen. Das Rinderfilet wie bestellt Medium Rare auf den Punkt und sehr zart. Alles in allem ein hochwertiges Restaurant das zwar etwas teurer ist, aber trotzdem es gerecht wird mit der gebotenen Qualität und dem Service.

Wir waren zu viert essen und können leider alle unabhängig voneinander sagen, dass unsere Erwartungen überhaupt nicht erfüllt wurden. Positiv hervorheben möchten wir den wirklich freundlichen Service, den Gruß aus der Küche sowie das nette Ambiente – das hat zunächst einen guten Eindruck gemacht. (Deshalb 2 Sterne) Leider hat das Essen diesen Eindruck nicht bestätigt. Ich hatte die Spargelcremesuppe, die tatsächlich die schlechteste war, die ich je gegessen habe. Für mich bedeutet Spargelcremesuppe eine feine, cremige Konsistenz – serviert wurde jedoch eine mehlig-krümelige Brühe, vermutlich mit Kartoffeln püriert. Zusätzlich waren Nüsse und ein Nussöl enthalten, was für mich in so einer Suppe nichts zu suchen hat und auch nicht auf der Karte stand (sonst hätte ich sie nicht bestellt). Der Geschmack war eher ranzig, vergleichbar mit einer alten Kartoffel. Vom Spargel selbst war kaum etwas vorhanden – vielleicht ein halber, in kleine Stücke geschnitten und zudem nicht richtig geschält. Nach wenigen Löffeln konnte ich die Suppe nicht mehr essen. Als Hauptgang hatte ich die Trüffelpasta. Diese war sehr salzig und insgesamt nur „okay“. Für einen Preis von 30 € ist das wirklich enttäuschend, zumal auch die Portionsgröße diesen Preis nicht rechtfertigt. Ein weiteres Gericht war Pasta mit weißem Spargel – auch hier war der Spargel schlecht geschält und insgesamt sehr spärlich eingesetzt (etwa ein Spargel für das ganze Gericht). Die Nudelperlen mit Meeresfrüchten waren ebenfalls stark versalzen und zusätzlich zu stark gepfeffert. Der Nachtisch (gefüllte Käseteigtaschen) war geschmacklich sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig und bitter – leider ebenfalls kaum genießbar. Durch die starke Würzung hatten wir entsprechend großen Durst und hätten gerne mehr Getränke bestellt. Trotz der Freundlichkeit ließ der Service hier jedoch zu wünschen übrig, da während unseres über zweistündigen Aufenthalts nicht ein einziges Mal aktiv nach weiteren Getränkewünschen gefragt wurde. Alles in allem war es ein sehr enttäuschender Besuch. Wir würden das Restaurant weder weiterempfehlen noch erneut besuchen.

5 Sterne! Sehr freundlicher Service und eine angenehme Atmosphäre. Das Vitello war sehr gut, die Spaghetti al Tartufo sogar ausgezeichnet. Ein schönes Lokal, in dem man sich sofort wohlfühlt. Absolut empfehlenswert!

Das Mittagessen war sehr enttäuschend. Für ein italienisches Restaurant war die Auswahl begrenzt. Der Service war langsam und das Essen ließ lange auf sich warten. Sowohl die Minestrone meiner Frau als auch mein Pastagericht waren versalzen. Für über 20 € pro Gericht hatte ich eine bessere Qualität und insgesamt einen höheren Standard erwartet.

Das Costa Smeralda mag von außen unscheinbar und die Inneneinrichtung etwas veraltet sein, doch die gepflegte Atmosphäre und die außergewöhnliche gehobene italienische Küche machen es zu einem tollen Restaurant. Wir waren rundum begeistert von unserem Besuch. Ein kleiner Fauxpas beim Aperitif wurde professionell und zuvorkommend behoben. Die Qualität und Kreativität der Gerichte sind in der Region schwer zu übertreffen, und wir freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Besuch.

Ich habe das Costa Smeralda schon mehrmals besucht und war diesmal erneut rundum sehr zufrieden. Die Kartoffelsuppe mit Trüffeln als Vorspeise war wieder ein echter Genuss, schön cremig und voller Geschmack. Als Hauptgericht gab es Nudeln auf Empfehlung des Hauses, und auch hier überzeugten alles: die Zutaten von bester Qualität und der ausgezeichnete Geschmack. Der Service war wie gewohnt sehr aufmerksam, freundlich und professionell. Alles in allem ein weiterer toller Besuch, ich kann das Costa Esmeralda nach wie vor nur wärmstens empfehlen.

An excellent Italian restaurant that isn't a pizzeria. We had a very good meal, though perhaps a truffle more would have been nice. Currently, there's hardly anything on the menu without truffles, which unfortunately limits the options for those who don't like them. However, there are other delicious dishes as well.

Costa Smeralda is always a good choice if you want to eat very good Italian food. We enjoyed our evening; the food was fantastic and the service was superb.

Excellent Sardinian restaurant with delicious local dishes. We had fish and rabbit, and both were very good, made with fresh ingredients. For dessert, we had tiramisu and pana cotta. The desserts are also homemade, not processed. Highly recommended, and we'll be back.

The truffle pasta and tiramisu are fantastic! The team is also top-notch. Only the acoustics could be a bit better; I found it quite loud at times.

Costa Smeralda in Mannheim offered a solid meal overall. My pasta was good in taste and the Crème Brûlée for dessert hit the spot. The portions, especially for the pasta, were just okay. Not small, but definitely not generous either. Service was fine, nothing to complain about. However, the menu lacked variety, especially strange was that almost every single pasta dish included mushrooms, which felt a bit limiting if you're not a fan (which I’m not). Still, not a bad stop, but a bit more diversity would go a long way.

A culinary highlight in Mannheim! This was our first time at Costa Smeralda – and definitely not our last! We felt warmly welcomed as soon as we entered the restaurant. We found the ambiance pleasant and cozy. The service was first-class: attentive, friendly, and with a genuine smile. The menu offers an excellent selection of Sardinian specialties, and every dish we ordered was a hit. We particularly recommend the homemade pasta and the fresh tuna – perfectly prepared and wonderfully seasoned. The wine selection was also impressive. An all-round successful evening with authentic Sardinian cuisine of the highest quality. Absolutely recommended for anyone who appreciates good food and genuine service!

Rather on the pricey side, but excellent food and service. We were very welcomed and treated with kindness and respect. We brought our little dog and they were flexible with her, bringing some water for her as well. The food was excellent. No complaints. Didn’t take pictures because we ate it eagerly.

Price-performance ratio is okay, but the seats are a bit cramped. Good service, and complaints are responded to promptly and positively. Highly recommended!

Wir waren schon mehrfach über Jahre im Costa Smeralda and meistens zufrieden, viel Auswahl an Tafel und Karte und gute sardische Weine. Mit den Einschränkungen (Öffnungszeiten, Feinkostgeschäft) geht ein Qualitätsverlust einher. Freitag abend, reservierter Tisch, einige Wartezeit, als Vorspeise Vitello tonnata war gut, Baby Calamari waren sehr überschaubar und schon auch zäh, d.h. waren übergrillt. Eine Hauptspeise kam prompt (Doradenfilet), kaum gewürzt. Auf die Lasagne. die auf der Schiefertafel angeboten wurde weitere 15 Minuten gewartet. Dann kam ein eindeutig aufgetauter, in der Mikrowelle erwärmter Nudelblock: aussen heiss, innen noch kühl. Keine Entschuldigung für lange Wartezeit, keine Reaktion auf die halb zurückgegebene Portion. Was noch negativ auffiel: alle Tische bekamen einen Gruß aus der Küche ausser uns, man kann ihn ja auch nicht einfordern. Der sardische Weisswein war schon eher zimmerwarm. Haben wir von der Liste gestrichen, denn die Preis-Leistungs- Relation stimmt nicht mehr und man fühlt sich auch nicht mehr wohl.

Sardinian cuisine somewhat hidden in Mannheim. Very tasty and you really don't skimp on truffles. The service is attentive and friendly. A small disadvantage. The place is very dark. Otherwise a great business lunch.

Mannheim's best Italian restaurant. The grilled baby calamari is delicious and one of my absolute favorite appetizers. For the main course, the beef fillet is my favorite. It's especially delicious with truffles and quail eggs. The pasta and fish are also excellent choices. The affogato is the perfect finishing touch. This restaurant is highly recommended for all foodies. A special mention goes to the service, who is always very polite and prompt.

Here at the Costa Smeralda, you can enjoy delicious Italian cuisine. Whether pasta, fish, or meat, there's something for everyone. Bruschetta and minestrone were our starters. Then we had wild shrimp and beef fillet for the main course. Everything was very good. Good value for money. Starters range from €8-20, main course from €30-45. A 3-course menu for under €70.

It's hard to believe what a culinary gem lies behind the simple facade. 5 stars are almost not enough. It was a successful evening for a special occasion. The menu is not overloaded but you concentrate on what the kitchen produces to perfection. Carpaccio to kneel down on, fish, pasta and meat dishes of the highest quality and very appetizingly presented. Fine wines! Service is always friendly, courteous and unobtrusive. Full recommendation, thumbs up - we'll be happy to come back!

No. 1 Italian in Mannheim - since 1982! Authentic, honest, excellent - that's how I would best describe the Costa Smeralda. Very good and attentive service, a cozy atmosphere, first-class wine selection and, above all, excellent cuisine. The price-performance ratio is excellent so that we can warmly recommend the Costa Smeralda to everyone. The tiramisu is to die for!

Das Essen war sehr schmackhaft und dem Preis angemessen. Der Service zuvorkommend, freundlich und aufmerksam. Das Ambiente ist etwas aus der Zeit, aber mit Stil.

It's a bit of a walk from Mannheim station, but it's an Italian restaurant within walking distance. I used it with members of a local corporation. The menu is in a mix of Italian and German, and is written on a blackboard, so tourists who can't speak German may have a hard time ordering. Although the beer selection was limited, they also had wine, and the food was satisfying. The dessert was also delicious.

Wir waren mit der Familie ( 7 Personen ) anlässlich des 21. Geburtstages meiner Tochter im Costa Smeralda zum Abendessen. Die unbedingt empfehlenswerte Reservierung funktionierte online hervorragend. Wer nicht mit der Strassenbahn ( Haltestelle direkt vor dem Restaurant) kommt, findet 5 Gehminuten entfernt im Parkhaus P3 am Hauptbahnhof, ein helles, modernes Parkhaus auch mit Platz für grössere Autos vor. Wir zahlten € 6 für den Abend. Angekommen präsentiert sich das Restaurant von außen total unscheinbar, es gibt auch keine Aussenplätze oder eine Terrasse. Innen ist die Einrichtung eine interessante Mischung aus gediegen und modern, aber dezent und geschmackvoll. Man sitzt auf bequemen lederbezogenen Stühlen. Die Atmosphäre bzw. das Publikum im Lokal würde ich als gehoben und entspannt bezeichnen. Eine Besonderheit ist die „ rollende Speisekarte“. Die vorhandene Auswahl ( Karte eher klein) ist mit Kreide auf eine Schiefertafel geschrieben und wird von Tisch zu Tisch gerollt. Es gibt auch eine klassische Speisekarte in Papierform. Teilweise etwas schwer zu lesen, da nur mässige Druckqualität. Doch nun zum wirklich wichtigen: Essen und Service. Zum Essen: alle Gerichte von uns sieben an diesem Abend - ob Fleisch, Fisch, Pasta, Antipasti oder Nachtisch- waren ausnahmslos hervorragend. Wir gehen gerne und häufiger auch gehoben italienisch essen und können sagen, dass wir in MA/ LU in den letzten Jahren nirgendwo sonst so gut italienisch gegessen haben und so gut bedient wurden. Als Beispiel sei das wundervolle Vitello Tonnato, die Scallopina ai vino bianco oder das Tiramisu genannt. Dazu passt ein von jungen, freundlichen, sehr professionellen und flexiblen Servicekräften verantworteter ausgezeichneter Service. Die Vorspeisenplatte gab es problemlos auch für eine Person und gerne wurden die Besonderheiten der sardischen Pasta erläutert. Die sardische Küche ist eine Spezialität des Hauses. Getränke kamen schnell, die Essen gleichzeitig und nach kurzer Wartezeit. All das serviert mit einem Lächeln und offensichtlicher Freude an der Arbeit. Schön. Da wir weitgehend alkoholfrei waren, kann ich die Weinauswahl nicht bewerten. Nur der guten Ordnung halber sei erwähnt, dass die sanitären Einrichtungen neuwertig und blitzsauber waren. Mit etwa € 50-60 pro Person sollte man rechnen, wenn man zwei Gänge und Getränke veranschlagt. Es ist jeden Cent wert. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

The atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned. Food and drinks are of okay quality, but too expensive. There are better Italians in Mannheim that are cheaper. The staff is attentive and friendly. I was disappointed that when you leave so much money in the restaurant, you don't get a digestive on the house when you pay. I know this from other good restaurants. That's definitely why I won't come back. Unfortunately, price/performance is not right.

Best ingredients. Great service. Pleasant atmosphere. It's all ok.

You can have 5* meals here! The start was tragic like a Puccini opera. Bruschetta with tomatoes so poor, I looked for a place to give them my loose change. The bread base is like the bread served with the meal...just not the real deal, and the real deal is spectacular..be a good idea to aerve some olive oil with the bread. The seafood salad fared a little better, and the veggie plate cared for in olive oil and hey, the vegetables in Mannheim are not Sardinian, and they did the best they could. The pastas fared much better. The dumplings quite light and simple as you'd wish. Again, the potatoes needed to be much better to take the flavours south to their home. And you can get better potatoes here, especially now. The spaghetti with truffle was beautiful. Ok, at €29 you're not going to get great truffle, and it was ok. But the pasta was cooked so well, the sauce really balanced and as pretty as the women walking the Costa Smeralda themselves. The waiter was so agreeable, I almost asked him to do my homework for me. Until I realised I'm 61 and have no homework to do...apart from this review. The place is lovely enough, but the seats needed repadding...about 2 years ago.

Portion was not enough, it seamed like it was meant for kids for what we ordered and the food did not taste that great for the price. We came to this place looking at the reviews as it had 4.8 ratings but the food experience doesn’t match well with the reviews. Could have been better either with more portion or by affordable price.

Very good cuisine. The food tastes fantastic, the starter variation for 2 people is a must. The main courses with pasta and meat are also highly recommended. You feel like you're on a little vacation in Italy. Very friendly and warm.

Ich bin öfters im Costa für geschäftliche Essen, aber auch gelegentlich privat. Auch wenn ich mittlerweile die Karte kenne, freue ich mich immer wieder auf den Moment, in dem die große Tafel zu meinem Tisch geschoben wird. Ich hatte diesmal die Wachteleier mit Trüffel als Vorspeise und die Seezunge als Hauptgang. Die Seezunge wurde am Tisch fachgerecht zerlegt und sehr schön auf dem Teller aufbereitet. Der Service ist immer flink, sehr höflich und mit italienischem Charme. Für mich ist es ein tolles italienisches Restaurant mit einem sehr guten Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis.

Nettes Ambiente im 50er Jahre Flair mit Echtblumen (Sträuße) als Farbpunkte. Das Essen ist geschmacklich hochwertig und sehr gut; der Meeresfrüchtesalat ist der Beste seit langem unter all den vielen Meeresfrüchtesalaten meines Lebens (€ 18,50). Die Kalbsleber mit Spaghetti war auch sehr schmackhaft (€ 18,90); die Seezunge mit Gemüse (€ 37,50) wurde am Tisch vom Service filetiert (klasse!) und mundete sehr gut. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis ist trotz der relativ höheren Preise hier einwandfrei durch die geschmackliche Präsenz gewährleistet. Der Service ist schnell und freundlich. Das Lokal war gut besucht, weshalb die Wartezeit auf das Essen etwas länger dauerte; hat sich aber gelohnt.

One of my top restaurants! The food and the service - everything is perfect here! Nothing works without a reservation and you should also plan something in advance because it is simply busy! We will continue to enjoy eating there again and again for a long time!

Great Italian food with hospitable service.

Great, authentic Italian restaurant. The truffle pasta and the beef fillet with quail eggs and truffles are highly recommended. Good service, nice atmosphere in rustic walls. Be sure to reserve in advance!

Indescribably beautiful evening. The ambience and the courteous service were the first things that immediately caught our attention. We had the 4 course menu and loved it! The courses were perfectly timed, the courses themselves surpassed each other one after the other in taste and detail! It really was a very special evening. Perfect from start to finish. Every dish, every course is a delight. terrific. The glasses were never really empty. The atmosphere, the ambience is wonderful. We were thrilled and would love to come back! Che dire, cibo eccellente, personale splendido, atmosfera rilassante, rapporto qualità prezzo più che onesto...insomma si mangia piu "l'Italia" qui che in alcuni ristoranti in Italia...consigliatissimo, continuate così

Carefully chosen menu, among others meals we had caccioucco with fresh, well cooked and seasoned fish soup, that was melting in a mouth. Tiramisu was also amazing, with firm and airy cream. Service is attentive, yet not intrusive. Definitely place to come when craving for great Italian cuisine and hospitality.
