Restaurant & Cafe Wastl Wirt in Bad Griesbach i.Rottal

We ate very well and tasty today, goulash soup, cheese spaetzle and the best was the Kaiserschmarn. The service was quick and very good.

Had dinner at Wastl Wirt again on Boxing Day. We know the atmosphere this time at Christmas, very nice! Today we had duck with red cabbage and potato dumplings and salad from the buffet. Delicious. Service friendly and helpful. The waiting time for the food was about 35 minutes, but that's okay considering we didn't have a reservation. Very tasty and Bavarian cream for dessert! What more could you want? We would love to come back and thank you again to the staff!

We had dinner here with the whole family at Christmas and had booked a table for 8 people. We were warmly welcomed by the staff in the beautiful winter garden! The order was taken quickly, the menu was well explained and a few small special requests were fulfilled. We were very impressed by the wonderful salad buffet! The dishes we ordered all came quickly, were wonderfully prepared, very large and also tasted wonderful!! We can also highly recommend the coffee and the delicious cakes! Big praise to the entire team (kitchen and service). Best regards, we'll be back!!

It took the catering up to three quarters of an hour to come up with the next drink. The food wasn't served to us until around 10 p.m. Worst catering I've ever seen.

I was recently a guest at the Christmas party in the Niederbayernhalle, where the catering was provided by the Wastl Wirt. I'm speaking from my personal (!) experience here. It started with what seemed to be a lot fewer tables set up than usual. Our group (12 people) had to split between two tables. If there hadn't been enough seats available in another area, we would have had to split up into three tables. That doesn't put you in a good mood. I arrived 15 minutes after entry and only got something to drink after an hour. (When ordering, the service staff pointed out to us that it would take a very long time). I was able to get an aperitif at the self-service table... but unfortunately they ran out very quickly. That evening (6:45 p.m.-12:00 a.m.) I was able to order drinks three times. I often didn't see any willing service staff. The appetizer came relatively quickly. Cabbage and apple salad with mushrooms. This tasted like a finished product. But it probably wasn't, because I found 2 pieces of apple peel in my portion. I can't remember the serving times. But they were obviously a little longer for the guests at the back, who grabbed something from the dessert buffet before they even got a main course. Then there was pumpkin soup. This was only served to half of our table. After waiting for a while and upon request, the forgotten leftovers also received the soup. This was an advantage as these portions seemed much larger. The first round of soup didn't seem to fill the bowl by more than an inch. The pumpkin soup tasted to me like it had never seen a pumpkin before. Not bad, but just not like pumpkin. As entertainment in between, glasses with lit tea lights fell from the candlesticks directly onto the table. This appeared to be the case at several other tables as well. For the main course I had the beef. That was actually ok too. Unfortunately the portion wasn't very big. After the main course, the plates and glasses at our table were not cleared away until I left the party. Then there was the dessert buffet. The Bavarian cream was good. The chocolate brownie had a terrible consistency and was compared to construction foam at the table. The apple strudel was almost certainly a finished product. It came with custard/pudding? This was another highlight... the taste was reminiscent of scalding, poured with water and then whipped with a mixer. The whole thing was topped off with my coffee order... I've never been served anything like that before. If someone had told me that I would have been served the contents of the draining cup in a cup, I would have believed it. Finally, I would like to emphasize once again that these are all my personal experiences. I have also heard similar descriptions of the evening from various areas and from colleagues I know privately in other areas. This host's performance was not recommended for me...almost disrespectful. The number of guests was announced at least a week in advance. So you can't blame a lack of prior knowledge here. Fun fact: A few tables away, McDonalds was picked up and eaten. In response to the innkeeper's last review, they are just a small family business... they advertise on their website with "Main caterer of the Niederbayernhalle in Ruhstorf... Corporate events with up to 1,500 guests.”

We had the Wastl Wirt as a caterer at our Christmas party (800 people) in the Ruhstorfhalle. At the beginning it took forever until we got the drinks. If this one was empty it took half an hour until another one came. The waitress apologized several times that evening because it always took so long because the people at the bar were extremely overwhelmed. The mineral also ran out very soon. To eat: At first it was very, very fast The starter was a salad... it was ok the pumpkin soup was really awesome The main course didn't arrive until around 11 p.m I had the tropical tongue with truffle potatoes both overcooked, dry and inedible!!! Dessert was a buffet that went well. Otherwise the catering experience was absolutely catastrophic

It's a restaurant I look forward to every year! There is no better food and, above all, the soups are unbeatable.

Vor genau einem Jahr waren wir auch hier (siehe Bewertung) und damals waren wir begeistert. Leider wurden wir dieses Mal enttäuscht. Hatten heute auch das Schnitzel und den Salat wie damals. Und heute müssen wir leider sagen, daß Salat und die Pommes wohl schon einen…nun ja…langen Arbeitstag hinter sich hatten. Pommes schon hart, der Salat lag auch schon länger in der Küche. Das Schnitzel waren heute zwei kleine und äußerst dünne Scheibchen. Schade.

We were there for the first time today and were very impressed by the service, the friendliness and the delicious food. We can only warmly recommend the roast pork, the Viennese style schnitzel, the onion roast and the salad buffet. We will also be raving about the greetings from the kitchen for a while 🙂 Until next time 🙂

Food was okay. Not bad but nothing that leaves a particularly positive impression either. The goulash soup ended up being vegetables floating in fat with 2 pieces of meat in it.

If you order large shrimp with noodles, you get noodles and also find some shrimp - which has no vegetables, nothing green, garnished. And the prices - well The selection is very slim. In game season, none of this.

Saddle of venison.....super fine

We ate well here and were served pleasantly. When we placed the order, our wishes were taken into special consideration. The portions were really generous and the meat was great! We'd love to come back.

We'll be in Bad Grießbach for a few days in a few weeks and are currently looking for restaurants. The menu sounds quite interesting, but this restaurant is no longer an option for us. Such treatment of assistance dogs is inexcusable. I find a general ban on dogs extremely questionable (even that is enough to avoid such restaurants). I haven't seen any dogs on the upholstered furniture yet, but I have seen some small children with dirty shoes 😉 Just something to think about. I know a lot of people who also avoid such restaurants when animals are generally excluded. Says a lot about the owners. Good luck.

I wanted to eat cake and drink coffee with a friend and our medical assistance dogs. Since the weather was bad, we wanted to eat inside. But we were forbidden to do this, dogs are not welcome here, and we were told no assistance dogs when we entered. When we pointed out that this was discrimination against disabled people, the only comment that came was that the management didn't want that. The fact that this violates Paragraph 12e Paragraph 3 BGG (Equal Opportunity for Disabled Persons Act) was completely ignored here. Assistance dogs have a general right of access and are above the house rules/laws. It is a great shame that people are excluded here because of their disability and their aids to enable them to participate in social life.

The three of us had dinner on September 20th, 2024. Schnitzel. Were very good and good portion and everything regional. Price-wise, completely okay

Eating is not recommended 😕 Sausage salad too sour (too much vinegar). Cheese spaetzle peppered with pepper (grated and whole peppercorns in it), Kaiserschmarn not a hit. Beer garden is nice.

A little expensive but tastes good

The food was good but maybe a little too much on show for me, it could have been a little more classic. But it was good and the beer garden is nice.

We were passing through and came to the grill buffet. It should be emphasized that most of the sauces and dips and the herb butter are homemade. Likewise, the spare ribs are not pre-seasoned, frozen, but are made FRESH. ✌🏻The salad buffet was large and varied. (Unfortunately some salads are a bit sour, but I might be a bit sensitive about that too). Good value for money both in terms of drinks and the all-you-can-eat buffet. The children's menu is also particularly noteworthy. This is truly unparalleled. Great selection, freely combinable, fantastic pricing. Big praise!

friendly service, good food at reasonable prices, nice atmosphere - what more could you want. There is a star deduction for the food, the bird potato salad could use a little more vinaigrette and the lemon mayonnaise - which was very tasty by the way - was a little small compared to the amount of fried chicken. But that's whining at a high level. Compliments to the kitchen for the still very good food.

We went to this restaurant for the first time. The shandy we ordered was totally sweet and not chilled or minimal. When I asked, I got a beer refilled from the very friendly waiter. Unfortunately the beer was warm... Maybe the cooling system in the dispensing system isn't working?? My lemon chicken tasted like dish soap - but at least it was freshly breaded and the potato salad was homemade. The portions are very small... my friend's roast onion roast wasn't filling, even for 27 euros. Taste OK. Overall, the food was beautifully prepared and the service staff were very friendly. That's worth a lot since I work in service myself. Unfortunately the rest didn't convince us but it had potential. Best regards Daniela Aigner

The four of us were in this restaurant for the first time. The food was delicious, beautifully presented. We had trout, lemon chicken, currywurst. Service was very friendly, attentive and quick, we liked it and will come again

I have never met such unfriendly service as at the catering at the Agriculture Ball in Ruhstorf.

Nice atmosphere, nice staff too. Kitchen delicious, my fries were just very salty. If you want a hearty meal, the Wastl Wirt is definitely a very good place to go.

Catering at the fire department ball in Ruhstorf was catastrophic. We only got our food 1.5 hours after ordering. We had to ask the waitress twice and apparently the wrong table number was written down each time, even though it was clearly visible on the table. The food we finally got at half past nine was ok.

Very nice ambience, rustically designed with wood etc. Excellent hospitality with very friendly handling. The food was excellent (onion roast) and the dessert was a poem. The absolutely fresh salad from the buffet was also very good. From the 5 of us 🌟 Many greetings Sandra and Horst

Kaiserschmarrn und Kuchen waren lecker, wenn auch der schmarn Recht klein in Portion war. Wässrige Tasse Kaffee für 5 Euro war dagegen echt frech....

Waren ein paar Tage in Bad Griesbach und haben das Lokal durch Zufall entdeckt. Wir waren begeistert. Personal zuvorkommend und flott und das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis super. Wenn wir wieder in dem Eck sind……auf jeden Fall der WastlWirt.

Wie sind spontan dort gegen 16.30 h eingekehrt und hatten ein frühes Abendessen. Die Käsespätzle haben sehr gut geschmeckt und auch der Wurstsalat war lecker. Der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich. Preis Leistung stimmte. Grosser Parkplatz für Hotelgäste und Restaurant Tagesgäste . Das Salatbuffet war leider Covinience incl . die Saucen schade. Gegen 18.00h wurde das Restaurant voller da die Halbpensionsgäste vom Hotel kamen. Gutes Bier wird ausgeschenkt Acrobräu. Fazit die Käsespätzle sind es mir wert wieder zu kommen.

Das Essen hier war eine wahre Freude. Super schön angerichtet, große Portionen. Und uns hat alles sehr sehr gut geschmeckt. Das Fleisch war sehr zart und auf den Punkt zubereitet. Der Koch kam sogar aus der Küche, um zu fragen ob alles passt. Hier kommen wir bestimmt noch einmal hin. Eine klare Empfehlung !!!

Einer der besten Restaurants die ich je besucht habe. Jede Speise war einfach ein perfekt serviert und hat super geschmeckt. Das personal war super zuvorkommend und immer gut drauf. Wenn ich mal wieder in der Nähe bin auf jeden Fall noch einmal 👍🏻

Musste lange auf meinen Kaffee warten. Auch das bezahlen war zeitintensiv.

Sehr leckeres Essen. Die Kuchenauswahl sah ebenfalls sehr ansprechend aus.

Wir waren vor kurzem Hotelgäste und sind sehr begeistert von dem Restaurant Wastl Wirt. Sehr freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Jeder Wunsch wurde erfüllt. Das Essen war sehr gut und ausreichend. Nachschlag jederzeit möglich. Die Auswahl am Frückstücksbuffet war sehr zufriedenstellend und abwechslungsreich. Großes Lob am den Wirt und sein schnelles und gut organisiertes Personal. Weiterso!

Wir haben uns mit Freunden getroffen und à la Carte gegessen. Alle Gerichte haben sehr gut geschmeckt. Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war OK. Die Bar hatte komplett geschlossen (Corona bedingt). Als wir dann aber den Nachtisch und einen Kaffee bestellen wollten, bekamen wir nichts mehr, weil es "schon zu spät war". Es hätte ein netter Abend werden können, wenn wir vorher informiert worden wären, das gleich keine Bestellung mehr angenommen werden. Wir bekamen übrigens keinen Tisch vor 20:00, das Essen kam gegen 20:45. Um 21:30 wurden keine Bestellungen für Nachtisch oder Espresso mehr angenommen

Mangelhafter Service, da nicht kritikfähig und uneinsichtig. Essen nicht frisch (Aufbackbrötchen, ggf. auch Tiefkühlprodukte). Durch Corona notwendige Abstandsregelung konnte nicht eingehalten werden, da nicht genug Raum für Buffet verfügbar.

Frühstücksbuffet und Bedienung sehr gut! Essen im Biergarten ganz o.k. - teilsweise unfreundliche Kellner!

Rustikales Ambiente. Der Service war teilweise sehr bemüht und freundlich, manch andere schienen eher widerwillig ihrer Arbeit nachzugehen. Beim Frühstück waren teilweise sehr viele Tische noch nicht abgeräumt und wir mußten warten, bis ein Tisch, den wir mangels ganz freiem Tisch erwählt hatten, neu eingedeckt war. Es wurden beim neu eindecken keine kleinen Löffel zum Frühstück hingelegt, der volle Tischabfall wurde trotz neu Eindeckung nicht geleert bwz. erneuert. Das Frühstück war für ein normales Hotel in Ordnung, für ein Wellnesshotel ist es eindeutig unterdurchschnittlich. Das Rührei und die gekochten Eier waren relativ trocken. Die Auswahl war insgesamt noch okay. Das Abendessen war eher unterer Durchschnitt. Den Tafelspitz hatten wir schon besser gegessen und meine Forelle schmeckte genauso wie das Forellenfilet vom Aldi im Kühlregal, an sich nicht schlecht, aber dafür brauche ich nicht ins Restaurant zu gehen. Insgesamt etwas lieblos, man hatte den Eindruck, sie ruhen sich auf der Tatsache aus, dass ohnehin viele Gäste kommen, da sie Halbpension haben oder den weiten Weg vom Hotel in die Stadt scheuen. Fazit: in Ordnung, aber wie gesagt allenfalls Durchschnitt. Es gibt auch sehr motivierte Mitarbeiter, teilweise eben aber auch einige die eher widerwillig zu arbeiten scheinen...
