Restaurant Café Palladio in Köln

The restaurant is very nice. The service was very friendly and attentive. Very good service! Unfortunately one of two pasta dishes was only lukewarm but otherwise good. The selection of food and drinks is well chosen. I can also recommend the breakfast. And the location is perfect (right on Maternusplatz).

If you are looking for authentic Italian cuisine, the Café Palladio restaurant is highly recommended! This wonderful Italian restaurant has everything your heart desires - from the warm, welcoming atmosphere to the exquisite dishes that we enjoy again and again! Ambiance: The restaurant exudes a cozy yet elegant atmosphere. The decor is tastefully chosen and the service creates a friendly atmosphere that makes the experience even better. Food: The real highlight of the evening, however, is the food. Every bite is a delight! All main courses tried so far offer a perfect balance between fresh and high-quality ingredients. But it's not just the main courses that are a delight - the starters and desserts are also excellent. Service: The staff is extremely attentive, friendly and knows their way around the menu. The recommendations were always to the point and you could feel that the work here was done with passion and dedication.

It's a shame, unfortunately we weren't served here twice. Although at 4 p.m. I was sitting alone on the terrace. Well visible. Everything else is actually good here.

Very tasty food. The pizza and the crepe taste best

It was our first time here and the service was very friendly. Our meals were prepared very tasty. Our drinks were quickly at the table. All in all, we were very satisfied and are already looking forward to the next time.

We had 2 different pasta dishes. However, both dishes had the same sauce. There were mushrooms in one. It still tasted good but we were a bit surprised. The service was mixed.

Unfortunately, the first impression we had some time ago, which was entirely positive, could not be confirmed on our last visit. The service was simply overwhelmed, but still friendly. This suggests that it is not the staff, but the management. In a restaurant that charges such high prices, the service should be excellent. We'll be happy to be convinced otherwise, because the food is really good (kudos to the kitchen).

Beautiful location, top service and a very good selection of food. Something for everyone. I liked it very much. Very nice place to stay. I'd love to come back.

Tasty but very expensive for what you get. Service varies. From totally unfriendly to very nice (in the coffee area).

The food and deserts are really good for the price. But for the staff cant say the same. Except the lady welcomes at the door rest of them are with extreme make-up and bad attitude, almost offensive. Tough to find a parking space around though. Just to keep in mind.

Very strange breakfast menu, only eggs (organic after all) in countless variations. Not even croissants, bread or anything similar. Vegetarians and vegans can find almost nothing.

We come here regularly to eat because the atmosphere is authentic and the staff/service is always friendly, fast and courteous. Rarely have I experienced such good service.

Nice, good service. Good value for money for Rodenkirchen. A nice large terrace, and there is enough space between the tables inside so you can enjoy your stay.

We were there with a registered larger group. One waiter seemed to be responsible for the entire large restaurant and was completely overwhelmed. Some of the group waited half an hour until they got a drink, the others waited over an hour for food, which came when the first ones had already finished eating. But it was extremely expensive! A 0.4l apple spritzer costs €6.70!!! The ambience and food quality were nice and good. Nevertheless: never again.

Übel! Ewige Wartezeiten, unverschämtes Personal, Minimalportionen zu irren Preisen. Ich war fasziniert, das so schlechte Restaurants existieren.

Very nice restaurant, stopped by spontaneously after a stroll. It wasn't too crowded and the service was quick and friendly. We had fish soup and bruschetta, portion sizes quite suitable for the main course and very tasty

Spaghetti aglio e olio nach der neuen Karte (ohnehin schon weniger Zutaten, aber teurer): lauwarm aufgewärmte (im Nachhinhein nach meiner Beschwerde bestätigt), labbrige Spaghetti, etwas Öl und Ecken von gefrorenem Spinat mit Käse. Knoblauch? Fehlanzeige! Diesen Küchenabfall bekam ich nach 70 Minuten Wartezeit allen Ernstes serviert - ungenießbar! Ein alternatives Angebot? Nein, das hat man hier nicht nötig. Die Vorspeise wurde noch schnell nachbestellt und kam zeitgleich mit durchschnittlichen Pizzen, nachdem erst ein nicht bestellter Burger serviert werden sollte. Der Kellner fand uns zunächst nicht für die Getränke. Das Wasser war mit statt ohne Kohklensäure. Die Begründung für eine so lange Wartezeit, so schlechtes Essen und schlechten Service, es sei zu voll, kann ich nicht nachvollziehen, da wir reserviert hatten und man gleichzeitg Gäste an anderen Tischen bedienen konnte und Pizza to go für die Polizei aushändigte. So stellt man sich die typische Touristenfalle vor.

Very nice and friendly service. Vitello Tonato very tasty but also very clear. Ambiance is nice but unfortunately also very loud.

Seit Jahren war ich Gast des Palladios, aber dies hat jetzt ein Ende. Die Preise sind mittlerweile inakzeptabel, 8 Euro für eine Flasche Wasser ist unverschämt. Die Karte wurde verkleinert, die Qualität ist dramatisch gesunken, jetzt muss man 4,50 € für 4 Scheiben Brot bezahlen, das gab es jahrelang kostenlos vorab. Die Toilletten war noch nie berauschend aber heute war der Wasserhahn defekt und es gibt kein Papier , unzumutbar. Man munkelt,es hat einen Besitzerwechsel gegeben, das frühere Personal ist jedenfalls nicht mehr da. Schade, früher war es nett und lecker, jetzt ist es überteuert und massig.

Catastrophic! Expensive and absolutely not worth it. We were seven. The service was friendly, but not very competent. Half of the menu wasn't available (fish and seafood). After 1.5 hours the Wsswn was served. The rump steak for just under €40 was totally tasteless and with frozen fries, the mushroom ragout was very simple. Way too expensive. The table was not cleared when dessert was served. There was a fly stuck to the wine glass and the glass was also dirty. Bread crumbs from the bread basket were spilled onto the table. Just catastrophic. Never again!!! We spent a total of just under €350.

Moderate service and mediocre food. Clean toilets and clean guest room with comfortable furniture.

The atmosphere was very pleasant - neither too loud nor too quiet, with good lighting creating a relaxed mood. The food was solid. However, it was a bit expensive relative to the quality. The service was rather unusual: the waitress asked directly for a tip. Unfortunately I couldn't give one as the service was significantly affected by the lack of staff and the large number of guests.

Als wir unser Ärger vorgebracht haben.wurde uns gesagt sozusagen selbst schuld, sie haben es ja gegessen. Stimmt haben wir uns ist beide schlecht. I was here for the third time because of the beautiful and large outdoor area, but unfortunately it was probably the last time. Each time I had to wait a noticeably long time to be served, and each time the service wasn't particularly friendly or attentive. For me, with the prices not exactly cheap, good service is a must - what a shame!

Unfortunately I didn't take a photo of the best dish: The Polipissimo (Octopus Bruschetta) was a blast 👍👏🤩; So tasty and the combination of ingredients is simply brilliant! The marinated vegetables and the pizza verdura were also very tasty, the calzone was nice and crispy, but seasoned a bit boringly. The service was very nice and it's nice to be able to sit outside! We were very satisfied and are already looking forward to the next time!

This is my second time here with my friends. It was our first time, there were quite a few people, but the staff was also prepared, there were a lot of waiters for a change. We haven't been served for a long time. We stepped back and went to another place. Today we are again, with a small occupancy of the garden and the room, once again we are not served.

As always, we had a very good meal at Palladio today and this time we were lucky with the service, which is not always the case. The young woman was very nice, attentive and professional.

Can't really say anything, somehow we never got a card to order, after 15 minutes and asking once we went to another Italian restaurant at the table next door. Somehow the waiter didn't seem interested in his guests.

Unfortunately, the crepe with Nutella was a bit dry in terms of the dough (made very thin and then maybe left in too long?!). Spaghetti Neri was tasty, but the portion was very small for the price:(

Centrally located in Rodenkirchen. My Pizza della Casa (Frutti del Mare style) was large enough and very discreetly topped with a few small mussels and small shrimps... the price of €17 was not appropriate. Service was ok.

It was supposed to be a great evening with the family at the oft-praised Palladio. It was a flop like no other. Because if you don't understand hospitality, blame everything on untrained staff and Corona, offer mediocre food at different times and at exorbitant prices, don't fulfill any drink requests and then present a bill that's too high, it's simply not good in the overall package. The large number of critical reviews in the recent past should give operators pause. But if they appear and act like the operations manager did when we visited, then there will be a barrage of excuses but never a quick “sorry”. This would at least make it possible not to leave the store with a completely bad feeling and perhaps think about another visit. Unfortunately not! For us, Rodenkirchen is one gastronomic option poorer. Sad, just sad.

We passed here by chance while looking for a pleasant restaurant. We were greeted very friendly and served in an extremely friendly manner. For dinner we chose delicious dishes from the seasonal menu with chanterelles. The food was very tasty and the prices were absolutely reasonable. We would be happy to come back and thank you for a pleasant afternoon.

Very friendly service. Everything my friends and I tried here tasted great so far. Any time. Tip: coffee with spaghetti ice cream! Enjoyed today (see photo). The coffee stays hot longer because the cups are preheated. Mega! Great! Like in Italy 🇮🇹

There were worms in my orange juice. When I tried to complain and say that I want to cancel my food order, they just said: “No, the food is already ready and the juice thing is normal, that can happen, the fruit could be bad, so it's not even our fault." Of course I didn't want the food to go to waste so I just said yes, but I will never go back to this place again and tell all my friends what happened here. And how bad the service was and how the waitresses didn't even try to apologize. I am so disappointed. In the end I almost paid for the orange juice because they didn't give me enough change. Luckily I noticed it. I don't expect to get the food for free but they made me feel like it was completely outlandish to complain about something like that and that just feels bad.

Preise wurden erhöht, aber weniger auf dem Teller. Unheimlich teuer für achlechtes Essen. Unfreundliche Bedienung. Nie wieder. Meine Tochter war an einem anderen Tisch mit Freunden - die Kellnerin hat sich ihr gegenüber verweigert das Wechselgeld zurückzugeben. Reine Abzocke.

Centrally located restaurant in Cologne-Rodenkirchen. The food is average, the ambience is nice and the service is good. You can eat well on the terrace and the location is ideal for children, who can play right on the site.

A restaurant and café which is open daily from morning to evening. It is located directly on the market square in Rodenkirchen city, essentially a prime location. At lunchtime you can choose between three menus, each with a starter and a main course. The lunch menus cost between 10 and 15 euros. Everything was well timed so that the lunch break was enough time for the meal. In the evening there is, among other things, a special evening menu. A large terrace is always available in summer. The ice cream is also recommended. We simply ordered Vitello Tonato from the bistro menu.

Fantastic little restaurant, with great food, great people and a fun atmosphere. The wait staff are all excellent, really enjoyed Palladio becoming our local while living there.

Hier wird Italienische Mediterane Küche angeboten. Aber leider NUR bildlich!!!!! Preise ein NoGo!! Wenn man von Essen überzeugt werden möchte sollte erstmal ein Blick auf der Toilette werfen. Das ist VISITE für einen guten Restaurant. Man spart am der falschen Stelle. Sie haben Platz 2 erreicht nachdem Rasthof. Personal wird gescheucht von A nach B . Eine Schande für Italienische Küche. Sowas soll man echt verbieten. Hobbyköche werden 10X besser kochen und präsentieren. Auf das Essen wartet man bis auf alle Ewigkeit und dann kommt auf dem Teller was man gar nicht bestellt hat. Oder 2 Personen Essen und der Rest muss warten. Geht gar nicht!!!!

The restaurant is really beautiful, BUT the servers are terrible. I made a reservation online for four people. They didn't even have our table, improvise on the spot - ok, no problem. When they bring us the drinks, they spill the whole glass of whine on our friend, and they just stand there don't even know what to do......The agony whas not over in that point, they was constantly forgiving what they need to bring to us....They said sorry for the spilled drinks, but guys, you need to offer us at least free drinks on the house, the adult man was completely wet because of you! I mean, zero hospitality from your side.....

I was there for lunch on April 30, 2024 with my children, we had to wait a VERY long time for our food, the children were very fidgety because of it, after the meal I ordered the bill, the bill amount seemed very high to me, but my children were with me One foot was already on Maternusplatz, so I took the bill with me to check it later. I did this two days later, but then noticed that the previous table had apparently not been billed or locked, so I then had 4 cups of coffee and I also paid for 2 latte macchiato, so I probably gave the waitress a BIG tip, namely 20.60 in addition to the tip I gave. Then I contacted the restaurant via email to ask them to discuss this with me again, unfortunately to no avail. To date I have not received a response to my two emails via the contact form on the homepage. It's a shame, an actually nice restaurant that doesn't seem to need to discuss the mistake that can, but shouldn't, happen with the guest and pay me the money back! That was my last visit there, unless someone finally gets in touch with me!

Very few vegan options for Cologne, otherwise nice shop with nice employees.

We haven't been here for a long time and spontaneously stopped by for breakfast. Everything is still fine and everything is very good. It's actually unfair to rate it because it's better than good. But unfortunately it's not exceptional either.

1 x ice cream/drinks. There was nothing wrong with it.

We were offered a seat straight away, but it was so full that we simply weren't served. When we asked, a person working there assured us: "I'll let you know." Nothing happened. When I asked again, there was only a curt "I don't know who's coming when." After 30 minutes we left, without ice cream. :(

Jahrelang war das Palladio mein Lieblingsrestaurant mit hochwertiger italienischer Küche. Nach einem Eigentümerwechsel habe ich noch ein paar Versuche gestartet, war immer einigermaßen enttäuscht. Heute habe ich 32 Euro für zwei Portionen einfache Nudeln zum Mitnehmen bezahlt. Meine Spaghetti aglio olio waren trocken und geschmacklos, in den Penne arrabiata lag ein sauer schmeckender Mozzarella mit einer Konsistenz wie Gummi. Für mich war es das. Tschüss Palladio!

We've wanted to go here for a long time, but the sometimes very negative reviews have always put us off. Yesterday we went there spontaneously - it wasn't a problem to get a table at short notice. The service was good and friendly, the food was also good, antipasti plate was ok, the pizzas were very tasty and so was the wine. Ambiance is also very nice. The only point of criticism: the washrooms were unfortunately not very clean.

The presentation is very nice, but the prices are high and the service is slow and sometimes unfriendly. Milk coffee only lukewarm and far too expensive for the size of the cup. It's a shame, it could be different.

Delicious food, but the service leaves a lot to be desired...

I've been a Viennese Rodenkirchen at the Palladio for a long time. The ambience hadn't changed, but the lunch menu could be improved. Chicken baked with tomato and mozzarella should have been called mozzarella with tomato stock and a little chicken (very thin and therefore dry). There were also a few potatoes and vegetables, followed by a salad. All in all it was ok, but neither interestingly seasoned nor lovingly draped on the plate. That's why I only give it 3 stars.

Food was good…… BUT the meal took a long time and there wasn't much going on. We were very hungry! And when we wanted to pay we were charged €5 more! And this isn't the first time this has happened.

I ordered spaghetti Bolognese (€16.90). The pasta was not al dente, not at all... The sauce as always at all Italian restaurants in Germany: disaster. Too many tomatoes, the vegetables (carrots, celery, etc.) not chopped enough, not the taste of a bolognese because the bitter taste was missing (e.g. from chicken liver), not spicy at all . It was a sauce that you could have made better at home without paying €16.90.

Went there for a café today. First we got the menu and said we would like coffee, ice cream or something like that. the card was taken away again. Then the service went again without taking the order. Five minutes later we asked again if we could order, the answer was yes and he was gone. Five minutes later the next request was made as to whether we could ask for something... of course... then we ordered two coffees, a waffle and an ice cream (spaghetti ice cream without cream). After 20 minutes the coffee and ice cream arrived, with cream... no waffle. After another 20 minutes you can have a waffle without cutlery... the same thing happens when you pay. Had to ask three times if you could pay...I'm sorry but that's not possible.

We only ate ice cream, but the people at Palladio are worth the visit. Great!! We will be back! Children Bueno!! Popcorn is also highly recommended.

The food was quite tasty, the service could have been a little more attentive. And like everywhere else when it's full, there's a decent level of noise in the restaurant. It's definitely much more pleasant on the terrace in summer.

For two pieces of bruscetta, 8 euros, I thought it was a bit much, even if it was freshly made. That's why the service was extremely friendly and very good and the ambience didn't leave much to be desired.

After my sister was told that she should wait at the front for a free seat, we were sent away in an extremely rude manner because we were in the way and it would take a long time. The restaurant, located in the main square of Rodenkirchen, offered a delightful dining experience. We ordered the Pizza Margherita, Pizza Italia, and Caesar salad. All the dishes were delicious, made with fresh ingredients. We also enjoyed some beer, which was quite good. The staff were courteous, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was pleasant. I thoroughly enjoyed spending time there with my friends.

We've eaten there twice now and the food itself is good. Unfortunately the service after the first order wasn't great, you felt like you should leave quickly! You would definitely have wished that you had been given something to drink again. The ice cream menu should also disappear from the table, as it is not ice cream season at the moment and you might want to order ice cream for dessert, but none is served (if the waiter were to come) Price performance just doesn't match the service!

Wir waren zum ersten und zum letzten Mal in diesem Restaurant! Pro: + Schöne Ambiente + Das Essen war in Ordnung Contra: - Sehr schlechter Service - Sehr unfreundliche und unmotivierte Kellner - Die Toilette war unsauber - Hohe Preise - Sehr lange Wartezeiten bis man die erste Bestellung abgibt (bei uns war es ca. 20 min.)

Sehr nettes Personal. Ambiente super. Essen schmeckt sehr gut. Portionen ziemlich groß. Sogar das Essen _ Kindermenü groß. Man kann dort auch Prominenten treffen. Immer wieder gerne dort hin. Ich muß dazu sagen dass das Mittagessen ( Menü) für jeder Tasche Auch für Rentner. LG

Der Service ist nach wie vor unterirdisch. Die Pizza war dünn belegt und schmeckte fad. Da wir nach dem 2. Getränk nicht mehr bedient wurden, mussten wir den Kellner suchen um zu bezahlen.

Wir waren am 2. Weihnachtstag abends dort. Als wir bestellen wollten, sagte man uns das Pizza aus ist. Wir bestellten dann alle vorrangig Salat, auf den wir gute 45 Minuten warten mussten. Die Portionen waren auch klein, vor allem für den Preis. Bei meinem Salat fehlten auch die kandierten Walnüsse, die eigentlich in der Karte standen. Als wir Nachtisch bestellen wollten, stand lediglich Tiramisu noch zur Verfügung. Das Ambiente ist an sich ganz schön, aber die Musik war leider viel zu laut & die Toiletten nicht sauber. Der Service war ok.

They will rob you. Crepe 5,5, 1 bottle of still water, they charged 13 euros and I didn't receive an explanation. Thieves! If you are not German you will get screwed.
