Food was just average overall. The grill platter was greasier than expected, the chicken was dry as Sahara, and the pork had some chewy pieces that I had to spit out. Croquets were nice tho.

The food was very good, but unfortunately, due to the large number of seats, the overly bright lighting, and the record speed at which the food was served, the atmosphere during the meal was unpleasant.

Although we hadn't reserved and the place was packed, we got seats. The service was polite and quick. The food was also very tasty. I'm deducting one point, though. I'm used to Serrano ham being sliced ​​with a knife. This didn't look like it was done with a knife. Otherwise, highly recommended.

A truly lovely restaurant. The tapas are excellent, and the selection is really well-chosen and appealing. We've been there twice now and were absolutely delighted each time. We didn't have a single thing we didn't enjoy. The atmosphere was also very pleasant, although the service was occasionally a little inattentive, but that's perfectly understandable given how busy the restaurant is. For reference, we paid around €100 for two people, including a starter, main course, dessert, and a glass of wine each. It was definitely a highlight for me and brought back memories of Spain 🙏🏼

Wonderful atmosphere, decoration and ambience. Food could have been better for me for the money, although it's tapas dishes could have been slightly bigger for the money. Ordered 16 dishes between five of us and we were left hungry.

The shop isn't located on Leipzig's market square, but just a few steps away on a side street. I can wholeheartedly recommend the cuisine – and not just for the tapas. The entire menu maintains its high standards. A must-visit!

The staff is very attentive, friendly, and quick. The food is good—I had the salmon. The potatoes were particularly tasty. However, it's very loud, making it difficult to have a conversation when it's very busy.

We like to eat a lot of tapas and chat while we eat. These were homemade and therefore very good. The ambiance inside is very stylish. There's an outdoor seating area in the back, but it could use a bit more attention.

We went to the summer theater in the courtyard today. The atmosphere was nice, the food was okay (not outstanding, but okay), but we were completely dissatisfied with the service. Here are a few examples: - his tone was joking and condescending - we waited over 20 minutes for our second drinks (with our meal), so we ended up sitting there with empty glasses - when the drinks finally arrived, including a large bottle of water, I informed the server that we had ordered still water but were given medium. He then looked at the ordering system, somewhat annoyed, and then said, "Yes, that's right, and there's an English swear word to go with it." When I looked at the word in irritation, he said that his boss allowed him to say that. There was no other brief apology or kind words. - After another quarter of an hour (! I looked at my watch), I finally got the new/correct bottle of water (without a kind word). - At the next table, two older ladies were sitting who informed the waiter that the summer theater staff member at the door had told them they were sitting at the wrong table and that they now had to change tables. Sure, that's always a bit annoying. But the waiter here really lost it, cursing loudly and slamming the menu loudly on the next table, and at the very end, told the ladies that it wasn't anything against them. Nevertheless, this reaction was completely inappropriate, unprofessional, and spread bad humor. The two ladies stood there completely speechless and shocked and went to the next table without saying a word. Neighboring table. The waitress then ranted very theatrically (no, he wasn't part of the summer theater ensemble) to the lady at the entrance, once again expressing his displeasure. - A little later, at the neighboring table, we had a request for a house wine, to which the waiter replied with a boastful "it doesn't taste good." - During the longer break, the waitress walked past us several times, leaving us no chance to order more drinks. Luckily, we still had our large bottle of still water. Tip for the summer theater, which shares the courtyard with the Paulaner restaurant: better book a seat there. We were there a few weeks ago (for another summer theater performance) and the service there was polite, courteous, customer-oriented, fast, charming, and witty. Unfortunately, the politeness, customer-oriented service, and speed were completely lacking at Cafe Madrid today. We will definitely not be coming back.

We spontaneously made a reservation at Café Madrid Leipzig yesterday and were delighted. The restaurant is very stylish, with plenty of seating and two outdoor areas (in front and in the back courtyard). Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by a waiter and attentively guided throughout the evening. To get us in the mood, we ordered a small selection of tapas, which were served quickly and freshly – a perfect start. This was followed by the main course: Iberico fillet and shoulder, cooked to perfection, with subtly seasoned side dishes and harmonious sauces. Combined with a fantastic Spanish red wine, we felt like we were in culinary paradise. Our conclusion: Absolutely recommend it! If we didn't live so far away, we'd definitely be regulars!

Always a pleasure to come here. Great food, great service and on those hot summer days, sitting in one of the outside areas. A little disturbing, when seated on the street side, one is often spoken to by some asking for handouts. The dishes are great, especially the tapas, bit a little on the pricey side.

The drinks selection is extensive, but unfortunately, you rarely get the chance to order one. The ambiance inside is very cozy. A good selection of tapas. If you can't decide or aren't familiar with the names, the very attentive staff will be happy to give you friendly advice. You can also order a variety platter and then get a bit of (almost) everything served. Portions are generous and come beautifully presented. The menu offers an extensive wine selection. The ambiance is a little off: it's incredibly loud inside due to the conversations between guests at the tables, almost like a train station concourse. There's background music, but you can't really hear anything other than the annoying bass due to the existing background noise. When the weather's nice, you can also sit outside.

We're no longer able to reserve a table for two hours. We regularly go out to dinner with friends and spend a lot of money every time. Aperitif, starter, main course, espresso... And then there's not even enough for a second bottle of wine and maybe a few tapas later, because you have to leave after two hours? It really doesn't get any more inhospitable than that. Maybe we should reserve a second table right afterward in the future...

We visited Cafe Madrid in Leipzig today. We were thrilled. There were 12 of us at the restaurant. We had booked in advance. The appointment was arranged via email and everything went smoothly. We were even able to spontaneously change our time from 7:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. When we arrived at the restaurant, we could choose whether we wanted to sit outside or inside. Within less than a minute, tables were prepared for 12 of us outside. Our server, Nadine, was super nice and always helpful. The food and atmosphere were great. We'd love to come back. We were greeted at 6 p.m. in a nearly empty restaurant with the words, "We can't sit outside with 11 people because the floor is too uneven." Later, we were told there was a staff shortage. The employees were having private conversations at the bar and intentionally ignored the guests. The wait for drinks was about 20 minutes after they had finished. Absolutely terrible. The service was sloppy. And then there was no tip for a single bill of almost €50 or more. Sorry, but not there again. If you don't feel like working, you shouldn't.

The service and ambiance are really great. The food, however, isn't great value for money. Almost 30 euros for the grilled meat, for example, is too much. It was tasty, but absolutely nothing special. You're paying for the downtown location.

If you're looking for Spanish food, you've come to the wrong place. It may be tailored to tourists or German tastes, but to give an example: They have a dish on the menu called "tuna empanada," but what they serve you is frozen empanadillas of the worst quality imaginable. They are two completely different dishes and a true affront to my country's cuisine. End of review. Signed: A confused Spaniard.

The food was bland and lacking in refinement. Despite five different small dishes, there wasn't a single one that was a treat. This is probably why no one asked how we were satisfied with the food. We waited forever for the bill, even though there were at least five waiters quietly chatting behind the bar.

So: a huge place, anything but cozy, unless you eat in the next room, which was fine. The meal took almost 2 hours, there were only 4 of us and 3 of us just ate. The food itself was good, but either the starter's table wasn't cleared or I missed something. With 4 people each having 2 drinks and 3 people eating, the price was 172.30 EUR!!! The prices are well above average, a shandy costs 5.90 EUR and a spritzer 5.00 EUR! Drinks came to around 40.00 EUR. But that still doesn't explain the total. The bill contains duplicate dishes and things that I definitely don't know and that none of us ordered. 130.00 EUR for 3 people just for food, respect!!! The food was good, service friendly, but the bill was a disaster! Be careful what you order, put the note on your phone and then check it when you get the bill!

I went in drunk, ate shrimp and fries, a bottle of red wine, and some more. I came out completely wasted, but with a deep sense of satisfaction. Today we were in Café Madrid with a large group and it was very good. We reserved a table online and then extended it by phone, both of which were possible without any problems. Our meal started with a large tapas plate, which was very rich and offered something for every taste. The main courses are very rich and the selection is large, everyone will find something here too. The prices are more than reasonable for the service and quality offered.

Café Madrid offers a really good selection of food and the quality of the food was excellent. There is definitely nothing to complain about here. However, there are two major drawbacks: Unfortunately, the atmosphere is extremely loud, which hardly allows for relaxed conversation. The service was also very slow, so you had to be patient. If the volume and service could be improved this would be an excellent cafe. So it's more of a place for a quick meal if you can overlook the points mentioned.
