Caracan in Leipzig

"Just" a sports restaurant, with "just" simple benches (beer tent furniture) outside, but very friendly staff and, above all, excellent Spanish food at very reasonable prices. I really, really like it here. Occasionally, very, very good paella. I'll be back 😎👍

Really delicious food and highly recommended. With live music, it's a great evening. To the left and right are a few clubhouses, a soccer field, a volleyball court, and a tennis club, which seems a bit odd, because this place really is its own awesome brand that deserves a much cooler atmosphere. But you forget everything around you once you have the plate in front of you. It's all just an opinion. I was thrilled.

Hard to describe... A touch of vacation in the midst of everyday life. Or: Spanish joie de vivre – in the food, in the laughter, in the music – meets Leipzig's sporting spirit – on the soccer field, in beach volleyball, with (table) tennis rackets. Good mood guaranteed!

We shared the Caracan sampler platter for a light meal and it was delicious and well-seasoned, and reasonably priced. The beer was very fresh and the atmosphere was casual, fun, and family-friendly. It felt like discovering a well-kept local secret.

A great, cozy sports bar with a wide selection of food and drinks. They have barbecues during games and serve delicious coffee from a screen-printing machine.

The journey here alone is enjoyable. Afterwards, you can expect excellent, authentic food and a warm atmosphere. It's the perfect place for that holiday feeling in your everyday life.

For a "sports grounds pub," the food is absolutely fantastic and the prices are great. The Spanish cuisine is delicious. You can eat a hearty meal or grab a quick bratwurst to go. It's simply a nice place in the middle of Leipzig's Auenwald forest, always worth a quick stop, for example, during a bike ride. The staff has always been in a good mood.

We arrived 1.5 hours before closing time and were able to choose a table. Unfortunately, it's not very suitable for strollers and the like, but it's possible. After a short wait at the counter to order, three of the dishes we wanted were unfortunately out of stock. The first alternative wasn't either. That caused a bit of stress. The chicken with potatoes was a bit dry. The sauces, however, were all very tasty. The quantities aren't large. My husband had to get a pizza afterward. You either have to pre-order the paella or come on Saturday. They serve paella until it's all gone. We'll try it again.

Rustic outdoor restaurant on the LVB Leipzig sports ground in the middle of the floodplain forest

Without a doubt, the best place to have a little "vacation" time after work. Amazing... simply the best place in Leipzig!!! The tapas on the fall/winter menu are delicious, and the place feels super cozy!!! After a cold walk in the woods, it's the best reward to arrive at a place with such friendly, cheerful people and eat delicious food!!!

We ate an excellent paella, good atmosphere, family, they speak Spanish.

Unfortunately, we didn't have paella, as reservations were required, but we tried almost everything else on the menu. Unfortunately, much of the food had been grilled too long and was therefore rather dry, and the potatoes were practically leathery. The dips (the mojo picante tasted predominantly of vinegar, the aioli was rather bland, and the hummus was nothing special) were unspectacular, but the fried peppers and mushrooms were excellent. The portions were generally very large. Overall, though, not what I expected.

Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed because of the many positive reviews. It's basically a simple snack bar, but the prices are significantly inflated. Our food was burnt and presented with absolutely no care. You have to order at the counter, but you're practically pressured to tip every time you pay at the debit terminal – even though you don't receive any service. The value for money is completely out of the question. We definitely won't be returning.

It's at a sports field, with beer benches and only a small covered area. What's unfortunately not allowed is the huge, unrefrigerated pan of paella with shrimp, from which portions are regularly taken.

Spain in Leipzig's Auewald, wonderful.

Being from the Canary Islands. Living in Hamburg and coming on vacation. Finding mojo picón and papas arrugadas is worth the trip. Raul is a sweetheart. But you don't see why he's in the kitchen working. He comes just to buy us shots. The rest of the staff is SUPERB.

Unfortunately disappointing! Snack atmosphere, food cold... it's no use if it was visually well presented!

Twelve of us were with you on Easter Saturday and had two large tapas platters and four individual meals with a grill plate and scampi and were totally thrilled with the delicious food. The dishes were also very nicely presented. As a starter we were served fresh, warm bread with vegan aijoli and olives. Super delicious! The vegetarian wishes and the special requests required due to intolerances (lactose/fructose intolerance) were taken into account competently and courteously. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to recommend you. Muy rico 👍🙏 Adios 🤗

Caracan is really something special. The food, the people and the location with the sports on offer are a great experience.

The food was nice, the aperol spritz as well, but the Negroni I would not recommend.

A great place to stop off with a friendly team and a relaxed atmosphere! The prices are absolutely fair, especially the Caracan grill plate for €13.50 is a clear recommendation – very tasty and plentiful. The aioli should also be tried. There is no parking directly in front of the restaurant. But that's not a problem - the nearest car park is only a 5 minute walk away and the short walk is worth it. Alternatively, you can also travel comfortably by bike. We would love to come back and try the paella on our next visit.

We had a lovely afternoon at Caracan, but unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing - the paella was totally bland and not really seasoned well. We were missing fresh vegetables in it. Unfortunately, the ordering system (calling out names) led to confusion and another person took our food to the table…

Relaxed Spanish food in a relaxed atmosphere. The service also has a Spanish mentality. You need time and a good appetite.

Very nice atmosphere - but unfortunately it depends on some simple points. The men's toilets are really disgustingly dirty - some of the toilet seats are broken, very dirty. The toilet brushes look like they haven't been changed in years. The food was very, very tasty, even if there was a bit too much garlic for my personal taste. But this is purely subjective and is not taken into account in the evaluation. Since sanitary facilities can be kept clean and tidy with relatively simple means, I still deduct 2 points here.

The food was very, very bad. My partner went to the doctor today because she had a stomach ache after eating. The cheese was dry and hard like the sole of a shoe and the sauce was spoiled.

This snack bar is located on the LVB sports field. I wouldn't call it a restaurant because of the beer benches and excess. Ordering food and drinks is a bit chaotic and very loud. The food and beer are very tasty.

So if you want to eat good food and aren't too fancy, sitting on beer benches surrounded by a sports field, this is a great place to have a good time. (Last time I had a paella)

Nice little spot for some Spanish fare.

Nice location with 4 different beers on tap. The food is good, but you have to expect longer waiting times at the grill for a single bratwurst, grilled cheese, steak, etc., especially on weekends, as all dishes with a side dish are prepared preferentially and the grill is not even used to capacity. The concept should be reconsidered here... Accordingly, the mood in the queue in front of the grill was tense, with a waiting time of sometimes over 45 minutes for a grilled cheese and a steak. During the week everything is very relaxed and there are no long waiting times. I always like to come by for a beer. The service at the bar is always friendly and dogs are also welcome here and always get fresh water refilled as needed.

On a day like this, a location like this was perfect. In addition to exotic music that encourages us to move our bodies, delicious dishes certainly adorned our liquid drinking experience. And that brings us to the main point. The freshly tapped golden beer was wonderfully complemented by the tree experience surrounded by nature. Here you can let the body be what it is. Wonderful

Super delicious, authentic Spanish food. Prepared in the fresh air with a holiday feeling. Nice service. You sit at beer benches and can watch the athletes on the surrounding volleyball or soccer fields. Casual atmosphere. By the way, it's also very nice for dog owners because you have enough space. Fresh water for the furry friends is also available. The only disadvantage: You can't park directly at the restaurant but always have a bit of a walkway through the forest.

On warm days the hotspot for a little rest after a long day at Cossi or at work. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff and delicious Spanish food. Concerts also take place here and various games were broadcast during the European Championship.

A very authentic Spanish bar Outdoors with always crazy, but not too loud music. When the weather is nice you need patience. Card payment is now finally (almost always) possible 😜 (If the mobile data from the card reader cooperates...). The freshness of the food is TOP! There are many with but just as many dishes without meat!

There is a large selection of food and drinks at fair prices. The food tastes really good and you don't have to wait long, even if there is a lot going on. Surrounded by forest, you feel like you're not in a city at all. I always like coming here.

It struck 13 when I entered the restaurant with my friend. The planned Doppler consisting of LVB II had just burst. Hungry and frustrated, we sat down on the patio, waiting for the city league relegation summit. The bratwurst we ate was probably one of the best of my life. And hopper pigs really have experience! Afterwards, our mouths began to water as we admired the plates of other guests. For the small thaler you can get lavish grilled plates, paella and many other delicacies. “Stadium catering” is so delicious. We'll be back outside of the game day too!

They are regular guests at the Caracan, especially because it is totally relaxed and spacious with children. The food is fresh from the large grill, the dishes are authentic and, above all, the platters are highly recommended. What annoyed me a bit this year is the communication, you don't know when the big area will open, but new parties are constantly being promoted via Instagram, Telegram and all other channels. Parties, parties, parties. That's why we were disappointed two weeks ago, when the weather was great, that only the small restaurant was open and there were no plates. The line was uncomfortably long. That's not a problem, but the operator's lack of information policy (except for party people) is annoying, and no one ever answers the phone.

We had a wonderful time at Caracan, outstanding food and great people. We will come back and eat up and down the menu. We felt very comfortable. There is an excellent selection of vegetarian and vegan options.

Alles ganz nett, vor allem alternativ und total Hip. Vor der Kneipe sieht es aus wie bei anderen hinter der Kneipe. Keine Abluft über dem Grill, keine Registrierkasse, und bei einer Frage nach einem Kassenbon wird man angepöbelt.

Eine versteckte Perle in mitten eines Sportvereins. Das Essen war hervorragend und für einen Preis der seines gleichen sucht. Einzig das alles Outdoor war, wurde gegen späterer Stunde zum Problem da wir die falsche Bekleidung an hatten. Auf jedenfall eine Empfehlung!

Das Karacan ist ein Restaurant, dass man schwer beschreiben kann. Vom Ambiente her ist es einfach ein Imbiss an einem Sportplatz. Vom Essen her ist es geradezu grandios. Ich war zwar selbst noch nie in Spanien, aber genau so habe ich mir spanisches Essen vorgestellt. Das Personal ist super freundlich und man fühlt sich hier einfach wohl. Die Preise sind wirklich sehr fair! Damit kann ich das Restaurant nur empfehlen. Nicht so toll, fand ich, dass die Toiletten in keinem guten Zustand waren. Das ließe sich aber mit ein wenig sauber machen und ein paar kleineren Reparaturen beheben.

Hier ist es wirklich richtig schön. Die Jungs aus der Küche machen extrem leckeres Essen. Vegetarische, vegane oder Sachen mit Fleisch oder Fisch. Alles frisch vom Grill. Und die Kids können inzwischen in unmittelbarer Umgebung spielen. Danke für diesen schönen Ort.

Spanisches Flair mitten in Leipzig! Einfach ein Muss, wenn man spanische Tapas liebt.

Sehr lecker, angenehme Atmosphäre, freundliche Menschen!

Total versteckt zwischen Tennis-, Volleyball- und Fußballplatz. Sobald ich die Einfahrt zu euch hoch fahre und die Musik höre und die Jungs hinterm Grill lachen sehe, habe ich direkt gute Laune. War schon paar mal bei euch und es war jedes Mal einfach unfassbar lecker. Die vegane Paella sowie der vegane Grillteller sind einfach super lecker. Eure Dips (ganz besonders die Aioli) runden das alles immer super ab. Man muss damit rechnen das an besonders schönen Abenden hier auch viele Leute sind und man etwas am Tresen warten muss bzw sich anstellen muss, was ich persönlich aber nicht schlimm finde. Gibt nichts besseres als Sonntag Abend bei euch zu verbringen ❤️

Eine Sportlerklause mal ganz anders - fantastische Musik im Hintergrund und regelmäßig auch Konzerte bei denen kein Tanzbein still steht. Verbindend, offen, herzlich- soviele freudige Gesichter die schlemmen, genießen und sich von den Melodien mitreißen lassen. Wer möchte spielt vor Ort vorher noch Tennis, beachvolleyball, Tischtennis, etc und lässt dann den Tag ausklingen...
