Restaurant & Café Hanschick in Lübbenau/Spreewald

Overall, we really liked it. It's very nice from the outside. The interior is a large space. A room divider or something similar would be nice. But perhaps it was prepared for a large tour group when we were there. The food is very tasty with a wide selection. Lots of traditional cuisine and a decent amount on the plate. The service is very good. Friendly staff, prompt service, and always asking if everything is okay. All in all, highly recommended. Oh, and there's also a private parking space in the backyard, free for guests.

The decor is a bit dated, but somehow it's cool again. And since the food is so incredibly good, and the service is equally so, the overall ambiance is absolutely perfect.

I ordered aspic, which had no flavor. The aspic was mostly vegetables. The three pieces of meat were gray and dry. The tartar sauce took some getting used to and was inappropriate. If I were to come back again, I wouldn't order it again. And, I have a problem with the staff using the informal "du" form of address with guests.

The food is not only delicious, but also plentiful and lovingly prepared. The ambiance perfectly matches the Spreewald flair and invites you to linger. The restaurant is also ideal for a coffee break: The cakes are fantastic – delicious and the slices are really large. The drinks and coffee specialties were also impressive. The value for money is absolutely fair and comparable to other restaurants in the area. We'd love to come back!

We parked directly across the street at the bus stop and walked past it on the way to the harbor. From the outside, it has a rustic charm to me; the terrace is large and wheelchair accessible. The restaurant serves good, home-cooked meals with generous portions. The waitress is very friendly and attentive. The price-performance ratio is right in my opinion.

Highly recommended. The restaurant's exterior caught our eye, and we weren't disappointed. Excellent food and drinks, typical of the Spreewald region. The outdoor seating was a bit uncomfortable, but the service was extremely friendly and attentive, and we were served very quickly. All at very reasonable prices (two people with a drink, starter, and main course for under €50).

Restaurant review. We had made a reservation but it was not necessary there was enough space. We quickly got the menu and very quickly the service was next to us to take the order. We also quickly got the order served on the table. Served completely without love, the schnitzel was fried and everything was reserved on 1 plate. A schnitzel should be fried and not deep-fried this makes the schnitzel tough and that was also the case in this case. The fried potatoes were fine. The ordered salad was served in a soup bowl. In summary: without love, tasteless and no repetition. Staff and service. As in so many German restaurants there are many "older ladies" working hard but, apart from the good ones, have no love for the catering industry. They also radiate hard work but find it difficult non-verbally that there are also customers. Also in this restaurant the service was not friendly and the lady looked irritated when a question was asked that she did not understand or if the customer wanted something else from the menu. New customers came in and the lady just cleared another table and stood with the dirty plates in her hand to take the order of the new customers, unbelievable. Tables and chairs on the terrace outside were of camping level. If you have a fixed and covered terrace like this company, make sure you have decent furniture and not those steel folding chairs where the tables are higher than the chairs and are not comfortable, this also ruins the meal and the atmosphere. General restaurant rating: 6/10 (can be improved)

It's rarely a good idea to go to the first restaurant you can find as a tourist, but this one was. I had a schnitzel with asparagus and potatoes. The schnitzel had oats in the breading. It tasted really good, and the price was right. Refueled, we then headed for the tourist strip.

We had breakfast here after an overnight stay in town. Very friendly service and a good breakfast. We were full and satisfied.

We were there with a group of 20 people and were absolutely thrilled! Despite the large group, the food was ready super quickly and every plate was generously filled. The quality of the food was top-notch – fresh, delicious, and beautifully presented. We would especially like to highlight the staff: very attentive, friendly, and professional. We felt well looked after throughout. To top it all off, we all took a piece of cake home with us – it was also truly delicious! Highly recommended – we'd love to come back!

The decor is a little dated, but that's completely irrelevant considering the incredibly delicious food and the super friendly and fast service! This is truly good old German style! Keep it up!!!

We had a vacation apartment here, and the restaurant immediately caught our eye. We liked it so much that we booked a table every evening. We're from the Spreewald region ourselves, and the food truly tasted like home. Large portions with a delicious salad and grated radish on almost every dish. The staff was always friendly and constantly asked if everything was okay. Fantastic! We haven't experienced such hospitality in a long time. Keep up the good work to the entire team. Restaurant: Good food, good beer, good service. Cheap for Lübbenau conditions.

We were hungry yesterday after a long day outside in the fresh air and found this restaurant and cafe. We arrived around 4:45 p.m. The choice of food was far more than expected. We had the roulades, “the steak with a difference”, the schnitzel with mushrooms and the daily special: 1/4 duck with potatoes and red cabbage. All 5 meals were delicious in their own way. I particularly enjoyed the red cabbage that came with my roulade. The mustard-onion-cucumber sauerkraut was also a bit heavy on mustard, but it still tasted good with the steak. Certainly also to grease the roulade. I found it tasty, at least in combination. 😅 You can definitely do it again for a detour. The service is also very nice and attentive. The dessert was also delicious. A sweet ending to a nice day with our friends.

The restaurant with a small beer garden is very nice, the food is also very tasty, the schnitzels are made in-house (you can hear it) and the portion of chanterelles was appropriate for the price. The service staff very friendly

We arrived shortly before closing time!!! Nevertheless, the service was friendly, courteous and the food was soooo delicious, lovingly prepared and very fresh. The atmosphere is more like a café but that's not a bad thing.

Very nice restaurant near the harbor. We went out for dinner yesterday because my son was starting school and we weren't disappointed. My child has never finished his menu in a restaurant. He still raves about the delicious schnitzel here today. Us adults really enjoyed it too. In between we were always asked if we wanted anything else. Would visit this restaurant again at any time.

Then as now, super lovely people, also the super friendly service. We were warmly welcomed again this year! The food was again very tasty, good home cooking - no frills! The older waitress was very friendly and took great care of the guests' well-being, thank you very much for that. Schnitzel with mushrooms and fried potatoes were very tasty. We were there with our dog. He was immediately given water, which I thought was really nice. We only ate one solyanka, it tasted great. Staff was very friendly.

I ordered Curry Wurst because that's all I knew in German. Unfortunately, there is no menu in Polish even though there are many tourists from Poland. You have to learn languages Good food, atmospheric, clean place, nice service. Good location next to the bus parking lot.

We spent two nights in the pickle barrel at Hanschicks. It was very comfortable in the barrel. The sanitary facilities were also fine, but a hairdryer would have been nice for the men. The breakfast, especially the scrambled eggs, was very tasty. The dinner consisted of really large portions and is highly recommended. The staff is also very friendly and always asks what you want.

The iced coffee drove us into the restaurant, unfortunately it was a small but nice disappointment. If you like unsweetened coffee, you will be happy. There is a scoop of vanilla ice cream inside and a cherry on top. Price was €4.90

We went there to eat spontaneously today. A heavy rain shower forced us to look for shelter. We took a seat on the large covered terrace and ordered a few drinks. The service was very nice and unobtrusive. We saw the beautifully prepared food from the other guests and then decided to just stay. The menu had a lot to offer at fairly moderate prices. And what can we say, it was cooked with love and really freshly prepared. Simply delicious. Thank you

We were drawn to the ☕ and can only recommend it. A few days later we found out that this coffee shop was also used as a filming location for the Spreewald crime thriller.

We ate at the local Cafe Hanschick several times during our vacation and were very satisfied with all of the dishes. The quality of all dishes was always consistently good. Fans of home cooking will be thrilled here. The friendliness of the staff can be described as familiar and you quickly feel comfortable and welcome as a guest. There was nothing to complain about for us. We will definitely come back on our next vacation in Lübbenau.

Loved the food and hospitality. I ordered fish which came out perfect , tender and delicate. My husband ordered fried chicken which was so so good. They paired the meal with hand cut potatoes which was very well made. Highly recommend if you are at lubbenau

We were there last Saturday with 15 people and were served very friendly. Cake, ice cream, coffee & beer were delicious. Feel free to come back! So really recommended.

Unfortunately only 2 stars because the food that was brought didn't correspond to what was ordered... extra cross fried potatoes... 2 years ago I was thrilled, unfortunately this time I was disappointed... I brought the food back in person... OK, that was the only "comment" I heard . Anything can happen, but you should deal with criticism professionally. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time or appetite to wait for a new meal.

The food was excellent, here blood sausage with sauerkraut, farmer's breakfast, beforehand lard sandwich with cucumber and cucumber salad, good home-style cooking. The prices weren't exorbitant either. It was super tasty, the service was very friendly and attentive. We really liked it and will do it next time gladly again 👍👍.

It is completely closed with no information at the restaurant as to whether it might be open seasonally at Easter. We walked there for free...

I was blown away when I asked for vegetarian dishes or salad. They simply didn't exist. So I had to switch to an appetizer and order a double quantity of it. So the food itself was really good but that doesn't help if you don't eat meat. 🙈
