Restaurant Bootshaus in Wetter (Ruhr)

I've always been thrilled here – until today. First, I'm ignored as a single person. Then, apparently, I can only pay by card for amounts over 20 euros because the commission is 2-3 euros. Sorry, I can only fool myself. This is discrimination against individuals. If my husband hadn't been sitting dead in his chair, this would never have happened to me. Think about how you treat guests who frequent your place but unfortunately can no longer provide proof of a partner.

The food was delicious, and the location was perfect, right on the Ruhr. Unfortunately, the cushions on the loungers right on the bank were completely worn out. It's not a great place to lie down. But for walkers and cyclists, it's a nice place for a short break.

Perfect for a bike stop. It's difficult to reach by car, and there are no parking spaces. It's best to park in the neighboring housing development and then walk. I was invited to a birthday party. The staff were friendly. The food wasn't my cup of tea.

The only thing that was original about the Aperol was the price. (Pre-mixed, too little, warm, wrong glass). The food was even worse. Both schnitzels were very tough. My stuffed schnitzel was raw inside. (Not pink, but raw!) When I complained, the manager offered to waive the charge for a beer. Due to the abysmal service, I explicitly refused to tip, and the change was silently kept.

Nice beer garden with delicious food, a small menu, a good selection of drinks, and very friendly service. We like to stop there when we stay overnight at the nearby RV park.

Everything we ordered was spot-on, and the portions were generous too. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a laid-back spot with great food and a fun vibe. We’ll definitely be coming back!

A very cozy beer garden with sunny and shady seating, ducks, birdsong, delicious food, and friendly service... The photo shows the great view from the beer garden. It's a real shame it's so far from Cologne.

Located right on the water. Very nice place. The service was very nice and the food was very tasty and freshly cooked.

Directly on the Ruhr cycle path. Be sure to take a break right here. Seating also right on the water. Delicious coffee and very good cake. Price performance really good. Very friendly service, definitely worth it.

The curry sausage wasn't worth the money. The fries weren't crispy and the mineral water was queued. It's not worth taking a break there.

Cake was quite soggy. Above all, I was put off by the service. The boss was totally stressed, the waitress said she wasn't having a good day... something like that should be discussed behind the scenes. And when the waitress eats a croquette with mayo while paying, I can't think of anything else. It's a shame because the location is otherwise very nice.

Were here shortly after 3 p.m. (official opening time on Tuesday). Cevapcici ordered, even though the lady seemed hyper-stressed. Rice, fries and salad was ok. The meat was bad. The beer was ok and always came quite quickly. Because the meat was not OK, the meal (€30) was not charged. We only drank 6 beers and paid €25 for them. It was a fair gesture.

Located comfortably, directly on the Ruhr. The sale takes place from a prepared garage. Lots of places to choose from. E.g. directly on the water, in front of the restaurant or next to the restaurant on a meadow.

We came here very spontaneously at closing time and were still warmly welcomed. Even though the kitchen had long since closed, we were still served - great service! The food was really good for the price. We'd love to come back.

A very beautifully located location directly on the banks of the Ruhr. We were there on a Tuesday when the weather was great. The boathouse was about 70% full. Unfortunately the service wasn't smart enough and so we waited a good 20 minutes to be served. With an experienced operator, none of this would have been a problem. Well, after we placed our order, we received our food quite quickly (30 minutes waiting time). Noted: there was only one person in the kitchen! Great for that! The portion size was now normal, not too much and not too little. It tasted good too, can't complain. Meat wasn't dry, everything was good! Unfortunately the service was inexperienced and not on the ball. Could still change... It should also be noted that there are no parking spaces available there. Either park outside or arrive by bike.

We really liked it here. Didn't know that before. Friends brought us here. A great location. Right on the water. The food was good and the prices were moderate. We'd love to come back.

Sad but true... Opening hours until 9 p.m., no kitchen after 7 p.m.?! Drinks only upon request... sorry, no recommendation for a great stop...

Super tasty currywurst and a great location right on the Ruhrtal cycle path and with a view of the water. Be sure to include it on your next bike tour!

The restaurant is comfortably located by the lake. The direct bike and hiking trail is a bit annoying. The food is inexpensive, schnitzel for 15 euros. Unfortunately, you can't expect much. That's why you get delicious Pilsken.

Ein schöner Halt für Radfahrer, Wanderer und Spaziergänger. Schön ruhig und abseits der Straße gelegen, kann man hier - am Ufer der Ruhr - gut verweilen. Faire Preise und ein aufgeschlossenes und freundliches Team runden den Aufenthalt angenehm ab. Dankeschön 🍀🍀

Freundliche Bedienung, lange warten muss man auch nicht. Bin auf dem Ruhrtalweg unterwegs gewesen und fand das sehr einladend. Kleines Restaurant aber mit viel Charme, direkt an der Ruhr.

Ein sehr schöner Biergarten klein aber gemütlich.

Das Fleisch war ein bisschen trocken, aber geschmacklich war an den Spießen nichts zu meckern. Sehr faires Preis/Leistungsverhältnis, nette Bedienung.

Absolut tolle Lage - unmittelbar am Wasser. Wer möchte kann in den aufgestellten Cocktailsessel in Ruhe seinen Drink am Ufer einnehmen und den Ausblick genießen. Wir haben dort mit 3 Personen unterschiedliche Gerichte im Biergarten gegessen. Das Essen war lecker , frisch und reichhaltig. Die Bedienung (ein junger Mann) sehr nett und hilfsbereit, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Ich kann die Kritiken hier nicht verstehen - bei uns war alles OK. Wer bei diesen Preisen eine Sterneküche erwartet ist hier falsch. Man sollte Preis/Leistung ins Verhältnis setzen und das ist wirklich sehr, sehr gut. Sollten wir mal wieder in der Nähe sein sollten, kommen wir gerne wieder. PKW Parken ist allerdings schlecht, hier muss man schon Glück haben oder mit dem Rad kommen.

Getränke waren gut, aber das Essen miserabel, absolutes Imbissbuden Niveau. Schöne Lage am Wasser. Lässt sich bestimmt viel draus machen, wenn sich die Küche mehr Mühe gibt.

Haben das Restaurant zufällig auf der Rückfahrt mit dem Womo entdeckt - wir waren begeistert! Leckeres Essen, Blick aufs Wasser, sympathischer Service. Wäre es nicht so weit weg, würde es wohl unser Stammlokal!

Super lokation. Nette Bedienung, super am Wasser gelegen. Läd ein zur Verschnaufpause bei moderatenn Preisen. Kleine Speisekarte von allem ein bißchen, Fleischliebhaber und Salatfans kommen auf ihre Kosten...ich war mit dem Radel dort, weiß allerdings nicht wie es mit dem Auto 🚗 ist....

Eine tolle Location direkt am See. Das Personal ist immer sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, die Speisen und Getränke einfach nur lecker. Hier kann man immer schön chillen und neue Energie tanken. Wir lieben den Biergarten und kommen immer gerne wieder.
