One star – significant hygiene deficiencies documented during inspection During an inspection on June 25, 2025, serious hygiene deficiencies were discovered at the Café Restaurant Bergsee in Bad Säckingen, which were published on July 17, 2025. The report cites unpackaged food in the freezer, heavy soiling on walls, ceilings, and floors, contaminated kitchen furniture, a dirty dishwasher, and plates with heavy crusts. In addition, the lids and interiors of storage containers and meat packaging were discolored. The dishwasher showed signs of slime buildup and smelled foul. I quote: "Unwrapped ice cubes and food were in the freezer. The storage container was contaminated inside. The freezer was contaminated inside. The ice cream scoop was worn out. The dishwasher was contaminated inside. In the kitchen, the wall surface near the counter was damaged. Furthermore, the kitchen was contaminated in various places: floor (grease deposits), extractor hood, wall surface, ceiling, kitchen cabinet surface, storage area. The stove was dirty from old dirt, and the microwave was contaminated inside. Extremely crusty deposits were visible on various plates, which led to the plates being discarded by verbal order. The lids and interiors of several storage containers were contaminated. Untypical discoloration was visible on the surface of the meat. In the storage room, the lamp was contaminated and damaged, the wall surface was heavily contaminated and damaged. The floor was also contaminated. Dishwasher water had a whitish, slimy texture and a foul, musty odor. Per Following verbal orders, various contaminated food items were disposed of, the dishwasher was shut down, and extremely crusty plates were disposed of. As of July 17, 2025: The listed deficiencies have now been largely remedied. Such conditions are completely unacceptable in a restaurant and endanger food safety. Although the report stated that most of the complaints have now been resolved, the deficiencies are numerous and serious, undermining trust. I hope that the establishment consistently improves, permanently monitors itself, and can pass future inspections without any complaints.

The waitress takes a long time to finally take the order. The same waitress can't take the payment. So, you can't really enjoy the coffee because everything else takes too long. Also, the prices are ridiculous: one cappuccino costs €4.50...

The restaurant is beautifully situated on a mountain lake in Bad Säckingen. Unfortunately, it is poorly maintained and dated. The food is of terrible quality and very overpriced. For example, a small end piece of frozen apple strudel for €7 is unacceptable. Unfortunately, the service, while friendly, was unqualified and didn't speak German very well. Orders were served incorrectly or not brought at all. Bills were incorrectly issued and charged with no cancellation option. We've been there twice and won't eat there again in the future. It's a shame, because it's a very nice place.

Unfortunately, it's incredibly disastrous. If I could, I'd give it negative stars. The service is constantly misplaced, or you wait forever just for your drinks. My son's tea wasn't hot, but lukewarm. An order we repeated twice was forgotten. The starters weren't cleared away and, like other guests, were simply left on the table. The food was inedible; I've never eaten so bad in my life. I would never spend a cent there again.

We waited over 30 minutes for our drinks. Our order wasn't understood and wasn't fully taken, as the waiters barely spoke German. We also noticed that Albanian compatriots were given preferential treatment, as the staff are also Albanian. The food is barely edible and therefore doesn't justify the price. The atmosphere is dirty, and the tables aren't cleaned even for new customers.

Beautiful place. Restaurant with a lot of potential for improvement: - Apple strudel won't be available until tomorrow... - The alternative iced coffee consisted of an ice cream cone wrapped in vanilla (see photo). - I also ordered chocolate/strawberry ice cream, but they brought me stracciatella/strawberry ice cream. Too bad!

The restaurant stands out primarily for its beautiful, idyllic location. You can dine and drink right by the tranquil mountain lake, which exudes a Black Forest atmosphere. The lake is ideal for a post-dairy stroll. There's also a parking lot and a very nice children's playground on site. The rump steak we ordered wasn't exactly amazing. However, if you're there for a cold or warm drink with a great view, you'll definitely get your money's worth. All in all, it's perfectly fine.

Truly terrible service. Completely overwhelmed, unprofessional, and forgetful. The cutlery was practically thrown onto the table... The food was completely tasteless. Not a single guest would venture there if they weren't located right next to a beautiful mountain lake!

Never eaten so badly. The restaurant only does well because of its location. Sausage salad with a piece of (dried-out) bread. Salad dressing was really awful. When I asked for more bread, I got old, uncooked rolls. And it was extremely overpriced.

Sunday outing, a stroll around the beautifully situated lake, followed by a meal at the restaurant's garden. Many tables weren't cleared; you could guess what the previous guests had been drinking or eating. My beer glass wasn't clean. The French fries came without cutlery, without ketchup or mayo; they were eaten with the fingers without a napkin. I don't recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant looked very inviting at first glance. The location is beautiful. However, we waited 35 minutes with the children for our drinks. And over an hour for our food. The cutlery didn't arrive until after the food was on the table. So we had to wait another 5 minutes. The food tasted abysmal. The breaded schnitzel simply tasted of flour. Not recommended.

We were there with a group in the large beer garden – the food is plentiful, and the dishes we tried—mixed salad, sausage salad, and fries—were delicious. You can sit romantically by the tranquil mountain lake and even go pedal boating in the evening. We highly recommend it; we thought it was great.

We received warm service, and the food was excellent. My steak was a dream, and the dumplings/spätzle were homemade. The salad was fresh and delicious.

Time seems to have stood still at the 'Restaurant Bergsee' – but that's precisely the charm of this day-trip restaurant on the outskirts of Bad Säckingen. The friendly service of the staff is a real highlight. The restaurant is a welcome stop whether you're out walking on the trails around the mountain lake, the adjacent wildlife enclosure, or on the barefoot path. We were there at lunchtime, and the kids enjoyed the fries, croquettes, spaetzle with sauce, and ice cream, while the adults enjoyed the delicious salads. All in all, very solid and freshly prepared.

Super tasty, super friendly and totally reasonable prices!

We ate brusquetta and mountain lake toast. The lake view was fantastic. The food was homely.

We were there on a Sunday, and it was very busy. The staff were therefore only sporadically at our tables, and we had to call them several times. We even ended up having to fetch someone ourselves to pay. Unfortunately, they also recorded incorrect items that we hadn't consumed. The cappuccino was a bit watery for our taste and not as aromatic as expected. We'll definitely be back and hope for better service.

We had salad plates and fries. Everything was good. The service was generally okay, but the person taking the cash was very nice and friendly, even to our child. There's a nice playground where you can also sit nearby.

The lake is very beautiful, but the rest isn't particularly special. The food was a complete disaster: cold, unseasoned, an inedible packet of sauce. The spaetzle consisted of cold, saltless lumps of flour. The cold fries tasted of nothing, and that's for the money. The waitresses also had all the time in the world and were conceited and unfriendly. Only the last person to come to the cash register reacted calmly to our comment and was kind enough to waive the price for one meal. We're not surprised, though, as there weren't many guests there, and none of them had ordered a hot meal. We've never eaten so badly. We're sorry about the rating, but it's true.

Reviews no longer reflect the current situation. Very friendly staff, fast service, and not too expensive. The food was perfect. We had a hamburger with a fried egg and fries.

Great location. But that's it... The food was a disgrace. If there were negative points, we would give them. We ordered a burger with fries, cheese spaetzle, a Coke, and a small shandy. Then disaster struck... The cheese spaetzle were hot, but... absolutely tasteless. Even the cheese... You wonder how that's even possible. The burger was only lukewarm. The fries were cold and undercooked. The replacement for the cold fries was canceled at checkout. We didn't quite understand this, as we hadn't ordered an extra portion, but instead complained about the cold, undercooked fries. The replacement fries were also undercooked and fried in old fat, with little charred bits on the plate, and again inedible. Overall, a meal you can skip. Substandard quality at quite high prices. The comments and suggestions about the food were of no interest to anyone. The restaurant doesn't seem to rely on regulars. Tourists come every day - only once, but that's probably enough to earn money and not have to worry too much about quality.

Check out the website of the WT food inspection agency. The store was criticized for being dirty in June. The dishwasher was dirty. You can get all sorts of things there. I wouldn't even get a drink there. It would be a gold mine, though, if you were interested.

My restaurant heart bleeds when I see something like this! It's so sad how they let such a gold mine rot away.

A lovely location with a small but well-equipped children's playground. Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired, and some of the service staff are very lazy and unfriendly.

The service is bad (very slow), they look at you and ignore you... including the manager, who hasn't cleaned the tables three times. The last time, for a child, we got almost burnt, very hard nuggets. A real shame for such a nice place.

The spot by the mountain lake is beautiful and a great place to eat. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. The food was nothing special, the service incredibly poor, and the restrooms were in a terrible state. Unfortunately, we regretted it later, with incredibly severe stomach problems. We were there on a Saturday afternoon. Perhaps the health department should come by. What a shame for such a beautiful place.

No food on Sunday, waiter did not speak German

The prices for the food are far too high. The service also leaves a lot to be desired. On the plus side: right on the lake.

I asked for an ice cream sundae and was given a blank stare. I asked for the menu and got one, but then I wouldn't be able to order anything else. It was all very unprofessional.

Miserable, I've never had to wait so long for my food. It felt like 30 minutes just to order a drink, and then another good 45 minutes for the food to arrive. (That's assuming everything from the order even arrives correctly and in full.) The portion was simply too small; there felt like 20 fries on the plate, and the schnitzel was really small. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone. It's a shame, actually, it's a really good location, and they could definitely make something of it. The beer was also diluted with non-alcoholic beer.

In one word: very disappointing! And a little more detail: We visited the restaurant around mid-morning and asked if we could have a quick bite to eat. We were given the menu and wanted to order, but were suddenly told that the kitchen wouldn't open for another half hour. After that half hour, we were suddenly told that the person assigned to the kitchen would unfortunately be arriving another 30-40 minutes late, so we cut our visit short. Dear owners, please make your business something that this beautiful setting deserves. And otherwise—with all due respect—make way for professionals!

We sat outside, and the ambiance of nature and the lake was truly dreamy. The outdoor seating was all very mismatched and didn't quite match. The highchair was very dirty (we only used it after cleaning it ourselves with a disinfectant wipe). We ordered a beer, a coffee, a slice of cake, and an ice cream. A small cup of coffee for €4 was quite expensive, especially since it didn't taste good. The cake seemed to be a frozen product and way too expensive for that. We actually only wanted to order a scoop of ice cream, but the menu only offered two or three scoops...you could choose the flavors, so we didn't really understand why you couldn't just order one, but had to order at least two?! To pay, you had to go inside, and it was dark, messy, and a bit eerie. When paying, you had to say what you had ordered. The waitress didn't know where you were sitting and didn't understand/speak German very well. The kitchen counter was a bit dirty (there was still cream from a cake stuck to the glass, which had been dented there, making it look like it wasn't really in use?! (Cooling the cream?!). I only noticed this after I had ordered and eaten my cake and hoped it was still okay (luckily, it was). The restrooms were so-so... The children's playground on the premises itself was a bit dated but okay. (There's a great new playground for children outside the restaurant grounds.) It's a shame they haven't made more of the ambiance; otherwise, it's a great lake with beautiful surroundings.

Unfortunately disappointing – beautiful place, but restaurant not recommended The mountain lake in Bad Säckingen is undoubtedly a beautiful place, perfect for a relaxing day trip. Our anticipation of a good lunch at the Bergsee restaurant was all the greater. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. The service was attentive, but language barriers made communication significantly more difficult. The food, unfortunately, didn't improve – the quality was more reminiscent of a simple cafeteria. The taste was unconvincing, so we're certain: We won't be returning. The low point came when we visited the restroom. On the recommendation of other guests, we sought out the restrooms behind the building – two cubicles that were in an unacceptable condition. Every rest area along the highway offers better hygiene conditions. When I complained to the restaurant, I was told that the official restrooms were broken. Unfortunately, that's not acceptable treatment of guests. The circular hike around the lake is very beautiful and definitely worth it – but for dinner, we recommend enjoying a pizza at the climbing park instead.

Great place on the lake. Really beautiful

I've been here a couple of times. Generally speaking, I think it's great that there are still places where you can consume something and that there are people who are into something like a restaurant. But even after six visits, I still can't get much out of it. The staff hardly understand any German. If you order something, you get the wrong thing, and if you want to say something, they don't understand you. The man had his car next to the garden chairs and got into the car like a little kid, started it up and kept revving it up. Only when I went up and said that all the exhaust fumes were coming towards us did he stop. The climax for me was when we went back there and there was a Volg sticker stuck to my glass. The disgust alone gave me herpes. I don't think I need say anything more.

Food: We were here for the first time a few weeks ago. We just wanted a light salad and a latte macchiato, both of which were fine. The salads were quite expensive. Unfortunately, some of the leaves were very wilted. That shouldn't be allowed. The second time, we ordered a starter soup and a starter salad, both of which were far too much for a starter. For main course, we had spaetzle and the rump steak. The spaetzle didn't taste like spaetzle, and there was half a bucket of fried onions on them. I left half a portion on my plate and even told them when paying that they weren't spaetzle. The rump steak made a slightly better impression, but unfortunately, I had severe stomach problems later. The fries that came with it were okay. We'll stick to leaf salads at most in the future. We'll use it as a stopover for a coffee or a cold drink. Actually eating there again is unfortunately out of the question for us. Service: The staff tries their best. But their attire is neither appropriate for a restaurant nor consistent. One person is wearing sweatpants, another in leggings that are far too thin, and some are wearing tops from other restaurants. It doesn't give a cohesive impression. Most people try hard and are friendly, but the staff desperately needs training. Orders get mixed up, people go from table to table with food in hand, asking if they've ordered it. When it's busy, the staff gets tense and overwhelmed. It's crazy to take over 20 minutes to make a salad. Tables sometimes go forever without being cleared, let alone mopped. And while the staff are running around and struggling to keep up, the boss sits outside on his cell phone, smoking, instead of taking charge, developing structures, supporting his employees, and keeping his place running. Bad impression. Atmosphere: First of all, we're only sitting outside. Basically, it's a place with a lot of potential, a great location right on the lake, and I personally always like the music. Unfortunately, the decor isn't consistent, which makes it seem chaotic. Some chairs are broken, dishes are jumbled together, and bulky waste and trash are visible. The entrances and facade could have been designed so invitingly. But everything is unfortunately very carelessly thrown together. It's a shame for such a fundamentally beautiful place, where one would love to visit and recommend a wonderful restaurant. But nothing about it is made with love. Neither the ambiance, nor the food, nor the service, unfortunately. None of it is worthy of this location. Price: Too expensive, across the board. The value for money is absolutely not right. OK for a drink, but the dishes across the entire menu are massively overpriced for what you get. Conclusion: A nice spot for a refreshing drink or coffee while passing through; I wouldn't recommend anything else. It's a real shame. I hope the reviews are read, recognized as constructive criticism, and the whole concept is reconsidered and its potential is finally realized. That would be very desirable. All in all, with one eye closed, 2 faint stars.

3 iced teas (0.3l) for 12 euros. The fries for 7 euros were too expensive (some were hot, some were already ice cold). It was strange. The burger with a handful of fries for 15 euros was too small (the patty was half the size of the bun). It's incomprehensible that you have to wait 40 minutes for a burger and fries (there were only 10 guests in total). If it weren't for the great location by the lake and if they posted the menu at the entrance, many people would just walk on. The drinks menu with prices isn't there at the entrance, but the food menu isn't. What a waste of money 💰

Obwohl das Restaurant nur zu 1/4 besetz war, dauerte es lange bis wir bedient wurden. Zu wenig Personal. Die Bedienung war freundlich und das Essen eher Mittelmass. Das Mobiliar ist in die Jahre gekommen.

Die Lage ist sehr schön. Das war aber auch das einzig Positive hier. Unvorstellbar, wie sich so ein Laden halten kann! Die Bedienung (wenn sie dann endlich mal an den Tisch kommt) hat Probleme, die Bestellung aufzunehmen. Dabei waren gerade mal 2 Tische besetzt. Dann kam erst mal lange gar nichts, dann kamen die falschen Getränke. Nach 1 Std kam ein Teil der bestellten Essen. Eindeutig Fertiggerichte, die warm gemacht wurden. Eine Person am Tisch (wir waren 4 Personen), bekam gar kein Essen. Bis zum Bezahlen wurde das mehrmals angemahnte Essen nicht gebracht. War auch gut so, denn auf diese Gerichte, wie sie hier serviert werden, kann man gut verzichten. Das Ganze kam uns vor, wie in einem schlechten Film. So etwas hatten wir noch nie erlebt. Ein Punkt ist hier schon zu viel !

Subterranean. We've never experienced a "restaurant" like this before! Food: Warmed-up ready meals, the cake was still frozen, and the sausage salad was obviously a bit old. The service was incompetent and completely forgot about one meal. Even when we asked, there was no response...

Actually a great place, but they have the "exclusive rights"; no competition. The staff is rather lackluster, and the friendliness is very fake. Everything is a bit "dirty," the restrooms are dirty... a lot of room for improvement. We only had a drink because we weren't in the mood for the food. We'll probably go back again, but only because there's no immediate alternative. Everything is just about okay, but great food is something else entirely...

We're sitting here right now with light to medium occupancy, waited 40 minutes for our food, and it was really cold! Our son had a burger with fries that were only half-cooked and cold. The waitresses speak poor German and are quite unfriendly. We didn't have any cutlery, and a small wooden barrel with cutlery was slammed onto our table as we walked by. The ambiance right on the lake is really nice, but the service and food were really bad.

It's very nice to sit by the lake. Only €7 for a portion of fries is outrageously expensive. It didn't fill you up, and they were still half-raw. A drink was served with it, claiming it was a non-alcoholic shandy, but it was actually a non-alcoholic wheat beer. After I took a sip and mentioned it, he noticed and brought it to the next table. He placed the half-empty drink in front of the man, and after he complained, a new one was brought.

We ate here today, and I've never eaten so badly in my life. First, I waited forever, then my daughter's sausage salad didn't arrive at all. One of the two schnitzels came with the wrong side. The spaetzle, at first, made me think I was eating pancakes, at least in terms of taste. When I finally had to pay €114, I wanted to drown myself in a lake. I'm definitely not going there again, not even for a coffee.

The scoop of ice cream with the apple strudel arrived already melted... When my order arrived, I immediately asked for the bill. This person couldn't take the cash and wanted to tell her colleague... 10 minutes later, I was sent to the cashier inside - but the two employees there couldn't take the cash either... Then I gave my table number - unfortunately, that wasn't enough... I had to say what I had (fraud would have been easy here)... The location is nice - it's a shame, though, that the tables weren't cleared and the ashtrays weren't emptied...

Beautiful lake, but the service was poor (not exactly hospitable). The salad was edible, but the potato dumplings tasted of old grease. Absolutely not good value for money!

Unfortunately, the wait for service was very long. We had to actively point out that we'd been waiting for quite some time before the menus were brought to us. Even taking our order took some time. The fries we ordered also contained schnitzel coating, which didn't belong there.

Catastrophe!! Stomach ache inevitable

Never again, and I really don't recommend it!! The kids had nuggets that were partly still raw inside, absolutely not acceptable. I had toast with pre-packaged ham and a half-cooked fried egg on it. There was still a lot of sand in the salad, a sign that it was fresh but hadn't been washed. The restrooms also had a strange smell, and there was no cleaning product. The only thing I would recommend is the walk around the lake and the view of the lake. I never normally write reviews like this, but with these expensive, even overpriced prices, I unfortunately have no other choice.

The restaurant is perfectly located. The food was a disaster. The spaetzle tasted like it had been reheated four times. The fries looked well-seasoned but were bland. I ordered schnitzel and got steak. The meat was tough and dry. Even the dog wouldn't eat it. The wait staff didn't speak German.

The wait for food was very long. I ordered a salad and waited an hour. There were only about six guests, and the staff didn't speak German. It was very difficult to order, and they came after 20 minutes to ask what we had ordered.

Anyone who wants to save this restaurant should start paying attention to all the reviews. Unfortunately, a missed opportunity in one of the most beautiful locations. The mountain lake is a true natural paradise – with a view that takes your breath away. But unfortunately, the restaurant that occupies this dream location seems like a mottled shadow on a masterpiece. During our visit – on a sunny day with around 150 guests – it quickly became clear: This isn't about hospitality or quality, but rather about simply getting through. The impression was: drained, drained, a money-printing machine at the expense of the guests. The building is old, but not in the charming, rustic sense – it's simply run down. An ongoing construction site was right in the middle of the guest area, so we were literally eating on a construction site. The children's playground was also in a catastrophic condition: a loose swing, a broken climbing frame, everything unsafe and dirty. Absolutely unsuitable for families. The interior smelled pungently greasy – and the restrooms? A smell that prevented us from even using the changing table. Everything is dirty, unkempt, and lacking in attention to detail. Add to that the "exorbitant" prices – €4 for a mezzo mix, which tasted more like a diluted, non-carbonated soda. Dear owners: Your location is a gift from nature – finally make something of it! It needs a 180-degree turnaround. New ideas, a breath of fresh air, real investment. Events, parties, weddings – all of this would be possible. But that requires more than rickety garden chairs and rotten wooden slats. I'd like to add something about the service. A bottle of Maggi and two empty glasses from the previous guests weren't cleared away until we mentioned it. Then we were served drinks, one of which spilled on the table and had to be cleaned up. The cola stain remained on the table the entire evening. Simply unprofessional. As it currently stands: absolutely not recommended. And above all: a real shame. I'll spare you the worst pictures!

A very long wait, and the food was ice cold. [The fries weren't even cooked all the way through.] Also very expensive for a family of three, so, well, an outing. The service and tables were completely disorganized. This place is probably taking advantage of its location and the monopoly that there isn't another restaurant for miles around.

The food was horrible. Fries were raw and cold. Cordon bleu was dry. Expensive for bad food. Never again.

Das Restaurant liegt sehr schön am See und wirkt einladend aber nur von weitem. Beim Eintreffen fanden wir schnell einen Sitzplatz. Mein Schwiegervater setzte sich auf einen der in die Jahre gekommenen Stuhl und das Bein brach ab und ich konnte ihn noch festhalten, sonst wäre er rückwärts auf den Boden gefallen.. Nach einiger Zeit kam dann die Service Angestellte. Wir bestellten und mussten für unsere Speisen sehr lange warten. Die Pommes, die dann kamen, waren innen hart und zum Teil kalt. Das Bruschetta war auf einem billigen Brot und recht lieblos angerichtet und geschmacklich fade ohne Ende. Das schlimmste aber, die Chicken Nuggets waren nicht durch! Das Fleisch war noch roh und rot-blutig und das bei Poulet!! Die Toiletten im Aussenbereich waren haarsträubend. Es hat gestunken, dreckig, defekt, kein WC-Papier und natürlich auch keine Seife. Die Chicken Nuggets wurden nach unserer Beschwerde wenigstens nicht berechnet aber eine Entschuldigung oder Sonstiges, auch für die anderen nicht gerade guten Speisen wurde ignoriert. So Schade für den guten Standort des Restaurants aber so etwas, geht gar nicht!

An iced coffee for €8 is quite a feat. Not all of the guests are from Switzerland.

What a shame... today after our walk around the lake we wanted to go for a drink. At first we were ignored at all in the restaurant. After ordering we could see the staff serving the drinks and food in a disorganized manner. After 30 minutes we were asked if we could order. We said yes and repeated our order. The waitress who took our order (1 coffee, 1 late macchiato and 2 glasses of water) came back straight away and asked what we had ordered. After that we had had enough and looked for another restaurant. As a passionate hostess my heart cries when I see employees like that and it doesn't surprise me at all that restaurants are closing one after the other.

Very nice location. The furniture is mismatched and not particularly well-maintained. But that doesn't matter in such a beautiful location. The service was friendly, but they spoke little German and gave incorrect information about the drinks. But that's our fault; we could have looked at the menu. As for the food, well, it was OK. But all in all, OK and forgivable given the great location. When the new playground opens, it will be great.

The food, good home-style and quite good! Price - quality ratio is right! But there is a lack of a structured workflow! Too long waiting times! And often the wrong menu is served! So, again...wait until the real food is served! The service staff, on the other hand, is friendly and also apologized for the various deficiencies!

The location is actually worth its weight in gold. Staff makes an effort. I think it's very good that people who don't yet speak perfect German are trained there. Drinks were very tasty as was the ice cream. The other people's food looked good. Nice view of the lake. Parking spaces available free of charge. Small playground at the resto and a new playground is currently being built next to the restaurant.

The ambience due to the lakeside location is really nice, but unfortunately the rest wasn't convincing. The service was uncoordinated, the wait was long, the food overall disappointing - tasteless, the salad drowned in white sauce. We had onion steak with fries, cheese spaetzle with green salad and salad with tuna. Overall too expensive for the quality offered. It's a shame - much more would be possible with this situation.

We ordered 3x cake and 1x mixed salad. The cake came quite quickly but we had to wait 40 minutes for the salad because it was soggy. The team isn't really attentive either and prefers to smoke outside. Ok for once but not again!

Here you can really only have a drink because the food doesn't taste good at all. Even the coffee is almost undrinkable. After about 20 minutes I spoke to another waitress who explained to me that there was no Black Forest cake etc... after almost an hour of waiting WITHOUT even a drink or anything else, we left again. Prices are very high, which is often the case at excursion destinations. I can't judge the quality of the cakes from a taste perspective, but what happened didn't give the impression of homemade cakes

Very nice atmosphere right on the mountain lake. New owner has made the outside lighting very nice so it's worth sitting there when the weather is nice. I think the new owner has had it for more than a year. As I said, everything has been beautifully redesigned in the outside area... but... the waitresses are a catastrophe, everyone just serves everywhere and this creates chaos and waiting times. Unfortunately, the food isn't that good either. Large portion of schnitzel Viennese style is more of a children's portion and everything is frozen. So the location is great, the service is pretty bad and the food is also pretty bad

Today we (2 people) were in the restaurant and were able to place a drink order after 20 minutes. It felt like an eternity until the drinks arrived. While we were eating, we were hesitant when we saw full plates that had been returned and unfortunately that was already my knowledge of the restaurant. The drinks 1x small Cola and Sprite for 8 euros are exorbitant. 2 years ago, a group (8 people) waited over an hour for food and the food was greasy and not edible. The fries were soggy, the hamburgers were raw and the schnitzel was thin and tough.

We went out to eat today and unfortunately were completely disappointed again. We waited 1 hour for the food to come. This came ice cold (from all of us), we also ordered a salad and said clearly and clearly in the middle. It arrived a good half hour before the main course with cutlery at a table where 2 adults and 3 children were sitting. A drink we ordered came so late that we had completely forgotten about it. A plate of plain turkey schnitzel with sauce and fries €22. I wonder for what. The meat wasn't cut through in the middle, it was almost impossible to cut through, the fries and the meat were also ice cold. The meat was small and thick, half a plate full of fries. My husband, who took the same thing, got ketchup with the fries, I didn't. The sauce was extremely little and very, very dark. We had to send the salad we received back because there was a hair in it. (really not possible!!!!). We didn't get a new one but at least we didn't have to pay for it either. The service staff was absolutely overwhelmed and unstructured. Everyone just runs around somewhere, no one has a fixed regular spot, if you get called to one you're lucky. Menu ordered after waiting forever and then until the order was taken. The 90 we left behind today really hurt!! My daughter's homemade spaetzle also came ice cold. We sent these back straight away and waited for something new because she refused to eat them like that. Pure disaster. The previous owners were great. Now we'll just stop by there for a coffee at most. That was the second time we were so disappointed.

The location is perfect. Now in winter, the ambience from the outside was correspondingly barren. Unfortunately, when I entered I noticed the heavy smell of deep fryer grease. The floor looked dingy. We were the only guests. I found three children's schnitzels with fries for €13,50 each to be sporty. However, the schnitzel was almost transparent, it was so thin and unfortunately it was very darkly fried and quite fatty. Unfortunately, one schnitzel was also very tough. The French fries were very strongly seasoned and unfortunately still half raw in the middle. Unfortunately I can't give this more than one star, it's not the heaviest dish and you can't really go wrong with it. I thought. What really blew me away, which I unfortunately didn't pay attention to when ordering, was the price of the drinks. Charging four euros for a 0.33 liter bottle of Cola is simply exaggerated. You then pay for the entire package and unfortunately that wasn't good at all with the food. The service was very nice, but also very reserved. Despite the excellent location, we will definitely not be coming back. It's a shame for the owners, the restaurant would actually be a gold mine with the right chef and a good cleaning lady.

Our meal (plain cream schitzel with spaetzle) tasted excellent. The spaetzle is lightly toasted. Service friendly. Of course, the location on the lake is hard to beat.

Nice restaurant with attractive interior design. But that was about it in terms of positive things. Food (chicken nuggets + fries) was almost inedible (meat dry, crust much too dark, fries tasteless, but ketchup was well spicy). Conclusion: never again! 5 types of cake on the menu, only apple strudel can still be ordered. Service: Although the restaurant was only max. 1/4 full, ordering took over 5 minutes. The additional mayonaise ordered was initially forgotten, then delivered when asked. There were no napkins on the table, we got some ourselves from the neighboring table. Milk coffee and latte were ok, but not cheap (€4.-) One more positive thing to end with: our little dog was welcome.

By 2 p.m. on Sunday, half of the cake was already empty. The staff didn't understand German that well either. And it took a very long time for someone to come.

Since I would like to criticize my visit here in a friendly manner, I will only write: this cafe/restaurant still has a lot of potential. A lot could be done with it - which would improve the current situation

Der Bergsee und seine wunderschöne Umgebung sind seit vielen Jahren ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel für uns. Im Laufe der Zeit haben wir daher auch die Höhen und Tiefen des Restaurants Bergsee miterlebt. Heute waren wir nach längerer Zeit wieder dort, um zu sehen, wie es mittlerweile aussieht. Ehrlich gesagt, der Betrieb zeigt, dass er in die Jahre gekommen ist. Die Inneneinrichtung ist weiterhin abgenutzt, die sanitären Anlagen sind veraltet, und die Gartenmöbel sind wild zusammengewürfelt und die Spielgeräte auf dem Kinderspielplatz bestehen aus Plastik. Insgesamt hinterlässt alles einen schmuddeligen Eindruck. Nichtsdestotrotz hatten wir Lust auf Kaffee und Kuchen. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, wir fanden schnell einen Platz und wurden zügig bedient, obwohl das Restaurant sehr voll war. Wir bestellten ein Stück Himbeertorte, einen Apfelstrudel und zwei große Tassen Kaffee. Die Himbeertorte und der Apfelstrudel waren sehr gut und die Portionen waren angemessen, obwohl der Apfelstrudel wahrscheinlich ein vorgefertigtes Tiefkühlprodukt war. Der Kaffee war ebenfalls sehr gut und zu einem Preis von 3,50 EUR für die große Portion durchaus angemessen. Das große Stück Kuchen kostete 5,00 EUR und der Apfelstrudel 7,00 EUR. Auch an anderen Tischen sahen die servierten Speisen gut aus und die Portionen waren großzügig. Fazit: Für uns hat es zu Kaffee und Kuchen gepasst. Dennoch sollte der Betrieb, angesichts der optimalen Lage am Bergsee, dringend renoviert werden.

The interior is still worn out, the sanitary facilities are outdated, the garden furniture is randomly thrown together and the play equipment in the children's playground is made of plastic. Overall, everything leaves a dingy impression. Nevertheless, we wanted coffee and cake. The reception was very friendly, we quickly found a seat and were served quickly, even though the restaurant was very full. We ordered a piece of raspberry cake, an apple strudel and two large cups of coffee. The raspberry tart and apple strudel were very good and the portions were reasonable, although the apple strudel was probably a pre-made frozen item. The coffee was also very good and at a price of EUR 3.50 for the large portion, quite reasonable. The large piece of cake cost EUR 5.00 and the apple strudel cost EUR 7.00. The food served at other tables also looked good and the portions were generous. Conclusion: For us it was good with coffee and cake. Nevertheless, given the optimal location on the mountain lake, the company urgently needs to be renovated.

We ordered apple strudel with vanilla sauce. First a waitress missed our order (despite writing it down on a piece of paper) then the food came with large frozen berries that you couldn't bite into because they were so hard. We asked the waitress how we should eat the frozen strawberries and she said that's just how it should be. The hot chocolate tasted like water but at least you got a lotus cookie with it, that was the best :‘-)

Super great location, super good food and great service. My personal highlight was the passion fruit as a delicious highlight of the main course, I would never have expected that. Thank you!

Pouletburger bestellt leider ein Schnitzelburger bekommen. Die Pommes waren auch latschig. Die Ambiente ist sehr schön. Aber das Essen war nicht gut.
