Restaurant & Bar POP in Heidelberg

We noticed this bar while passing by on our first visit to Heidelberg. The red logo is very beautiful and fitting, and the entire interior is unique. The space-age decor, furnishings, and colors are really chic and cool. We really liked it. The food isn't cheap, but it was good. The schnitzel with fries and salad, as well as the pizza, were delicious. It was certainly a bit of a joke to eat there while a few tables away were belting out pop songs and people were dancing in the back. The vibe was good and relaxed. It was fun. The cool, black-haired waitress with the tattoo was very nice and friendly. As we were leaving, the doorman was in a heated discussion with a few young guys; you literally had to fight your way out to get out, and there was no sense that guests wanted to leave again. Otherwise, everything was fine.

An unforgettable afternoon and evening! We had a wonderful afternoon and evening at the wine tasting – simply an all-around successful experience! Very friendly staff and owner. The wine selection was impressive, with something for every taste. The warm hospitality is particularly noteworthy: you immediately feel welcome and well looked after. The tapas were not only incredibly delicious, but also very plentiful and lovingly presented. Nothing was missing – even bread and dip were regularly and attentively refilled. The service was attentive, friendly, and pleasantly unobtrusive. Thank you for this wonderful experience – we would love to come back!

We booked the wine tasting with 5 wines, but we got a tasting with at least 7-8 different wines, plus a bottle of wine as a gift from the host. A super cool bar, top-notch service, and a superb entertainer as host. It's rare to experience such a friendly and generous host. The accompanying tapas platter was very varied, and bread and homemade alioli could be reordered as often as we wanted. The wine tasting is highly recommended! Highly recommended bar. We were there in a large group for the World Cup qualifiers and I was amazed! The service was excellent, the atmosphere was exceptional and very inviting.

Fine wines, first-class water, and a beautifully extensive menu. The antipasti platter was a highlight, as were the very well-mixed cocktails. We would be happy to come back.

If the boss didn't use his Spotify account to act like a "super DJ" and were more attentive to the guests' requests, the place would be fuller. Service staff attentive and friendly

A very relaxed atmosphere and really friendly and fast service. The owner is also very hospitable, and the selection in the store is extensive. I can really recommend this shop to everyone.

Ordered a beer and a large still water. Water came out in a blue bottle with open screw cap. Bottle said sparkling water. Tried to charge us 7 Euro for the water until I said it was served in a bottle saying sparkling. He then apologises for giving us sparkling. It was clearly tap water. He couldn't argue otherwise so we only paid for the beer. Beware

The people here are very warm, friendly, and genuine. I haven't experienced anything so warm, comfortable, and joyful in a long time. We always enjoy coming back.

After dinner we went to “Pop” for a round of drinks. The ambience is nice and the service was ok. Unfortunately not so nice: Ordered still water in the bottle, it wasn't originally sealed, the label was already peeling off from being reused several times, and the water tasted musty. Honestly, folks, in good restaurants you can get a carafe of tap water on the table for FREE. And very few people have a problem with Kraneberger. But charging the full price for what is supposed to be fine water is like cheating. Unfortunately, the cocktails (Moscow Mule and Gin Fizz) weren't particularly tasty/well mixed either. Wouldn't rather go there again.

Top shop! We happened to be there on Saturday evening and can't complain. The ambience is uniquely artistically designed. The two young men took great care of us, including advice on the drinks, which were really great. Unfortunately the kitchen was already closed at this time, so we cannot rate the food.

No sorry, I can't recommend the place. Yesterday I was really looking forward to a live evening with Olli Roth... and as an individual I was treated very rudely and cheekily. The service itself was friendly, but this attendant was simply unbearable. They'll never see me there again. Overall, not a good atmosphere, but expensive.

DEPRIVATION OF LIBERTY!! I wasn't let out after I went to the loo and there was nothing going on on the dance floor! We danced briefly, there was nothing going on, we went to the toilet and the bouncer wouldn't let us out. Booked a wine tasting with 5 wines and dinner a la carte and absolutely loved it! Gladly again and an absolute insider tip. Really friendly and committed owner, a lot of passion and heart and soul put into the atmosphere, event design and wine selection as well as food and service ♡ Great wines, learned a lot of new things about wine growing and winemaking. And all of this in a store with history. Super cool :D

The two of us stumbled in by chance because we wanted to have a glass of wine after shopping. One glass suddenly became a real wine tasting. The owner opened a variety of wines for us, which was a real surprise and was great service. That was very personable and very competent. There are great wines. His female support in service was also in a good mood and noticeably nice. For dinner we ordered two tarte flambées, which seemed a bit expensive at first (which is not a criterion) but they were some of the best we've ever had, well topped, crispy and simply delicious. Thanks also for the fig pomace. We are already looking forward to the next time.

The strange janitor with the round glasses didn't let us in *laughs*

I'm currently in HD and in the "lower street" it's just good. This was my third time at POP and I was with a friend and ate the tarte flambée (goat cheese, fig and honey), unusual at first but really good. For dessert, a fig schnapps 😉 👍 .... from me “4” stars plus an extra one from Carsten, so “5” stars.

Actually a cool store but the songs we wanted were always skipped, that was really cheeky!

Went to a wine tasting in the POP restaurant today and it's definitely a must. The wine tasting is in a great atmosphere with a lot of passion and great, high-quality wines. The food provided for the wine tasting is rich and absolutely delicious. We ended the evening with a glass of wine on the street. An absolute thank you goes to the owner Ivo and Cedric and the rest of the staff are super friendly and attentive. Just a great evening.

The service was good. The soup was also good. The beer tasty. Restaurant is also located in a cozy alley. Only the toilet smelled really bad

Very unpleasant atmosphere, you are asked every 2 minutes whether you need to order something (despite the drink being full). If you don't do this (still despite having a full drink), you will be unpleasantly asked to leave. In addition, we were simply asked for a tip without asking, which we certainly wouldn't have given that evening. Never again.

❗️ATTENTION ❗️ Fraud, according to the sign posted outside, on Wednesdays you pay half price for all cocktails. The cocktails and long drinks category also includes aperol. The owner came to us at the beginning and said you also pay half the price for aperol today. When paying, an employee told us she had been instructed to charge €5.40 today instead of €3.75 (half price) for an Alerol. The owner said he had told us from the start that an Aperol cost €5.40 and called us liars. Very dubious and unfriendly. Never again.

ATTENTION FRAUD⚠️ The Pop is definitely not recommended. On Wednesdays, cocktails are promised for half the price, which really appealed to me and my fellow students, which is why we sat down in the shop. The boss then came to our table and said: “Today we also have long drinks for half the price, for example Aperol!”. Of course we were very happy about that and ordered several long drinks. According to his promise, these cost €3.25 (half price), but he completely ripped us off when paying and made us pay half the price of cocktails (€5.40). After we mentioned this betrayal, he didn't want to discuss it and portrayed us as liars. Never go to pop again.

ATTENTION fraud! There's a sign outside the bar that says half price cocktails on Wednesdays. In the bar the owner came to us again to say that long drinks cost half as much as Aperol, for example. Then they wanted more money when paying for the Aperol and said they were too tired to argue and that we were lying. Never again!

Be careful, rip off!!! Bar owner doesn't keep promised prices and demands more money without argument. When we asked the waitress about it, she was “too tired” to argue, the owner called us liars and sent us out. We won't be coming back.

Went to Pop again today, had good food three times. Today exactly the opposite. The boss sat with the waitress at the next table, rummaged around with his fingers in his mouth and bit his nails, and didn't even need to greet us back. When asked to exchange zucchini vegetables for something else, the waiter was so rude as to say that there is what there is. The vegetables were seasoned and the potatoes were completely overcooked. The waitress was different at the end and asked how the food was. We said that last time we had asparagus on our plate instead of zucchini at the same meal, she said she would ask in the kitchen... after you've finished eating, you don't need to ask in the kitchen anymore. Totally disappointed and horrified today. We definitely won't be coming back! Minus 2 stars!

Spent an incredibly great Tuesday evening here; very tasty food, excellent wine, courteous boss, nice staff, good atmosphere. I will definitely come back!

We had a great evening here and would love to come back.

We have found this place in a popular parallel side alley of the main shopping street and sat outside on a hot summer evening with, finally, some rain drops. The pasta and chicken were amazing, the lava chocolate cake to die for, the waitress just lovely - so I returned the next evening, again. This time, alone. Even though the reserved table was still occupied - I found another one - I enjoyed my time and food, a Flammenkuchen and tossed salad. Really recommend.

Unique ambience, delicious food and friendly, family service - we'll be back again!

Wir sind als Touristen hier zufällig gelandet und sind mega abgeholt worden mit einem top Service, super Getränken, toller Unterhaltung und vielen Extras überrascht worden! Einfach zu empfehlen, wir kommen morgen wieder! Natascha und Natascha

Essen war super! Besonders toll war, dass Junior einen Pfirsich bekommen hat. Der Chef meinte, das sei gesund. Klasse war auch, dass die Portionen so gewählt waren, dass man sie essen konnte. Harte man mehr Hknger, gab es Nachscblag. So wird nichts weggeworfen. Der Schnaps aufs Haus hat das ganze abgerundet. Gerne wieder!

Schöne, eher kleinere Bar in der Heidelberger Altstadt. Ambiente wird besonders bei Autoliebhabern Anklang finden, da fast alle Wände & Decken mit Autoteilen kreativ dekoriert sind. Pop-Musik aus verschiedenen Jahrzehnten wird gespielt und sorgt für Stimmung. Eine kleinere Tanzfläche im Lokal ist vorhanden. Service war freundlich & aufmerksam. Da wir aber nichts gegessen haben, kann ich dazu keine Bewertung vornehmen.

Kleine Tanzbar im Barviertel. Viel Nachtleben am Wochenende. Hauptsächlich Studenten sind hier unterwegs. Pop ist schnell sehr voll. Einrichtung ist cool gemacht. Auto an der Decke montiert.

Super tolle Location. Hatten dort einer super Abend. Das Personal an der Bar und vor der Tür war sehr freundlich. Ist die einzige Bar in Heidelberg, in der es nicht zu voll ist und das Publikum ist entspannt. Der Inhaber ist sehr nett zu seinen Gästen und kümmert sich um ihr wohlergehen. :) War rundum zufrieden und komme gerne wieder.
