Restaurant Babička in Pirna

Service was a long time coming. I ordered pancakes. Then a robot brought the food - which doesn't fit at all with the ambience of the very, very nice place. At least a waiter came and brought the plate from the robot to the table. The pancake was delicious, but only one and it was very puny. Three bites and he was gone. Add fruit in decorative quantities, a little ready-made whipped cream and standard jam. For 3-4€ it would still be OK. but over 7 (I mean it was 7.90€!) are abnormal.

We stopped here after our visit to Weesenstein. We were greeted politely. Very tasty food was served to us after a short time. We felt super comfortable, like at grandma's. Service contributed greatly to this. A Robi also did his job and forgave with a smile and ❤️. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The Babička restaurant in Pirna is a real gem! As soon as you enter, you feel as if you have been transported to a cozy Czech farmhouse - the warm atmosphere and lovingly decorated details immediately create a feel-good atmosphere. The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional Czech dishes, prepared with great dedication and authenticity. The goulash and dumplings in particular were excellently seasoned and tasted like they were homemade! The service also deserves special praise: the staff is attentive, friendly and conveys genuine hospitality. For lovers of Bohemian cuisine or those who want to try something new, Babička is highly recommended - a pleasure for all the senses and a real enrichment for Pirna!

Despite the restaurant being full, the staff made it possible for 5 people and a dog to get a table.

I've been there twice and will go there again. I can recommend it, my friends and friends were also very satisfied and some went there several times. I had made a reservation for a class reunion there, I could accommodate 29 people!! reserve👍. With advance order. Unfortunately not everyone was there, but it didn't matter. It worked very well. 1. Unfortunately, the Bohemian dumplings are not homemade 2. The meat was old and dry 3. It took 30 minutes until we got the drinks

A great menu, a nice ambience with a view of the Pirna market - highly recommended restaurant.

If you want to go out to eat with your wife or family, you are definitely in good hands here. The service, ambience and food are simply top! We were served in a friendly manner by all the service staff. There were no long waiting times here. The homemade lemonades are highly recommended. Everything tastes good here. Dogs are also welcome here and a water bowl is available for the good ones. Thank you for this lovely, unforgettable and tasteful evening. Gladly again!

Very nice restaurant. The food tasted very good and the portions were large, so you were really full. A little more expensive in terms of price, but the quality and taste of the goulash compensated for that very well.

Nice restaurant in the middle of the market square in Pirna. Czech dishes are served there and we enjoyed them. The food came very quickly after ordering, just as you would expect from the Czech Republic. The service was attentive and they were assisted by a robot that delivered the plates to the tables. The restaurant was full and it is better to pre-order. Can be further recommended.

Have eaten here twice. Very good service and above all very tasty food. I can really recommend everyone to eat here, especially if you love Czech cuisine as much as I do.

As soon as you have sat down you are already confused about what you want to order and not all of the guests have even sat down yet. Very greasy food with garlic everywhere, so it tastes very similar. There is only a visual difference between red cabbage and sauerkraut, both were equally sugary and almost mushy.

We really wanted to eat dumplings and dumplings and the decision fell on Babička. We didn't regret it. Vaulted ceilings and paintings give a special atmosphere. We were entertained where Napoleon's bed used to stand 😅. Service is good. I ate the duck leg, which was cooked for several hours and baked until crispy. And, I have to say, I have never tasted better duck. Definitely a recommendation. Other dishes, according to my fellow travelers, were also delicious.

The place was nice, the dishes we ordered were delicious, but the taste remained unpleasant. Thanks to one waitress and her rudeness. The atmosphere was created only by Mr. Waiter, who took great care of his guests. Even though he didn't serve us, he was nice to listen to. Unfortunately, the lady who, while serving the dish, asked her friend to finish us because she was going, or her answers in a casual tone left a bad taste.

After a short trip to Saxon Switzerland, we finally looked for a good restaurant. We found this in Pirna and went there (reviews online). But we had booked a table in advance, which was good because the later it got, the more crowded it became. The menu was clear, which was a positive thing. A crowded menu is always not a good sign when it comes to the quality of the food. We ordered drinks and appetizers, which were brought quickly by a robot. After a while the main course came. This was very nicely prepared, but there was too much of the mass. The plate was simply overflowing. But we were quite disappointed in terms of taste, everything was very lightly seasoned, which we didn't expect. I had a 300g piece of pork which was over 50% fat, the beans looked like they were painted but didn't really have any taste. My companion had a poultry schnitzel which was very dry and not really seasoned. The waiter was very nice and funny, at least the service was good. We won't come back, we're not stingy, but the quality of the food doesn't match the price. Tastes are different and you certainly can't please everyone. From a visual point of view, absolutely great, service great, food mediocre, ambience economical and very cold.

The good Bohemian cuisine and the well-known Bohemian beer are well presented in this historic building. The remarkable wooden beam ceilings alone are worth a visit to the house known as Marieneck.

Second visit. You can still get a seat without a reservation. Was well attended again. Friendly and fast service. A new mechanical MA, very cool… New menu, new prices, food very tasty. We'll be back👍🏼

Only needed a snack but unfortunately chose my least favourite form of bread which garlic did not help. If we ever go back we will get the robot to deliver something nice

A really quaint Czech restaurant in the heart of Pirna. Friendly open reception from the service. Balanced menu, not overloaded and a hint of fresh cooking. Requests are responded to in a friendly and humorous manner. I had garlic soup which was specially spiced. It was delicious, like the other dishes. The ambience invites you to spend a cozy evening and socialize together. A clear recommendation from me.

The food was tasty, the waiters were original, but 45 minutes of waiting time for the food to be served is very long.

Didn't eat there. Local takes reservations via Quandoo only to call hours later and say there is no reservation. Great, no!

We had dinner here on Thursday evening. The dishes were very tasty and the price/performance ratio was right. Very nice atmosphere, outside and inside. Points are deducted for male service staff. He seemed visibly annoyed, even with other guests. A simple question about Majo seemed to overwhelm him. At first they didn't exist, then they did after we saw them ourselves on other tables. His colleague was very friendly and served us espresso on the house for the inconvenience. All in all, definitely recommended!

We didn't even get to eat here because we were greeted at the table in a very unfriendly manner and told us the table wasn't ready yet. They could have told us that in a friendly way. Then four of us went to another restaurant with very friendly service and had a very nice evening. Service very unfriendly.

Big disappointment! I went to the Babička restaurant on the weekend with my family and friends to eat a meal together in a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the staff prevented us from doing so. I had booked a table in advance and indicated that we would be happy to sit next to the children's corner because we would have a toddler with us who would like to play in the designated area. The waiter informed us that this was absolutely impossible. Of course, my first thought was that the tables were probably already occupied there. To my surprise, it turned out to be completely empty, and there were only two tables occupied in the restaurant itself. When we asked why we couldn't sit there, the waiter was dissatisfied and replied that it was too much of a problem because he would be serving tables in different parts of the place and it was inconvenient. I would like to point out that in this restaurant meals are delivered by a robot, so it's hard for me to understand it in any way :) The whole conversation had an unpleasant tone and meant that our afternoon was not as successful as we had planned. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Nice restaurant. Fast service. Typical offer from Bohemian cuisine. Quick preparation. Szeged goulash, meat loaf with fried potatoes were great. The other dishes did not delight the palate. It somehow lacked spice and aroma. Vegetable salad without ingredients is somehow unusual or is it typically Bohemian?

A nice restaurant on the market square in Pirna. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. Everything was very sparse or not seasoned at all (e.g. the dish: zander fillet... sure, you can add more seasoning... but unfortunately it wasn't anything special... the grilled vegetables were overcooked and the rosemary potatoes didn't see any rosemary). The service is inattentive and seems overwhelmed. We wouldn't come back straight away.

Pleasant and helpful service. A typical Czech restaurant including Czech humor. The food was very good, I was very satisfied. Weaker for beer. Pilsen is rather worse than it deserves. The interior of the restaurant has a great atmosphere and it's really nice there. They are also served by a robot there. :)

I really like the atmosphere and staff, quite a large dining room with 2 levels and an outdoor terrace, the food was very tasty and sufficient, there was a children's menu with a few dishes to choose from. The adult menu had something from everyone, the selection is not too overwhelming and is sufficient

Cold loin, fries twice fried, over-seasoned and cold Cabbage cold, sauce only tasted of pepper and cheap mixing sauce. My meal came on three small dessert bowls. As “compensation” I was offered an espresso. And I should get in touch next time. But how can a service not be found...

Definitely best restaurant and atmosphere in the beautiful Town of Pirna serving delicious Czech food. Their food even beats many of the restaurants I tried in Prague, I must say. I was initially fixed on another restaurant around the corner, but they turned us down because we didn't have a reservation, but this restaurant took us in without a problem eventhough it was busy and I'm very glad they did. The restaurant has a dark Medieval atmosphere, which I fell in love with. I ordered a typical Czech dish, the beef goulash with the bread dumplings and I must say I was surprised. I was never a fan of the dumplings, but these ones made me think again. The meat sauce was very rich in spices and the meat itself was very tender and the dish in general had a big portion, perfect, no mistakes. The schnitzel was good, nothing special though. The duck dish was however exceptional. It comes with bread dumplings as well and some of the best translucent Rotkohl I had ever tried, I'm a big fan definitely. I really enjoyed my dinner that night and if I ever visit Pirna again, I will sure make plans to dine there again.

I've eaten better. This has little to do with Czech cuisine. The food came to the table almost cold, there was not enough sauce for the Bohemian dumplings, the meat tasted like the old s.. There was a stone (grit) in the red cabbage and it almost broke my tooth. 🤮 Waitress was nice, apologized and offered me a coffee, well, but I still had to pay the full price. 😡 The male waiter was a bit brusque and stressed. If we want to sit outside and it starts to rain then we're out of luck, there's no service outside and we can't go inside if it starts to rain. 🤦🤷 Original sound waiter! You have to like the operating robot, it might be a hit in China and Japan, but it's inappropriate here. All in all, a tourist trap. Not recommended !

5/18/2024 We discovered the restaurant by chance while visiting Pirna. We were all surprised at how delicious the food was. Real Czech cuisine, no imitations. And the portion sizes? Awesome :) The staff could not be read either. That's why I was surprised by the reviews complaining about the service. Maybe we were lucky or others unlucky, I don't know. Update 6/13/2024 We went to Babička on purpose to eat well. The business did not disappoint, the food was again excellent. We were just unlucky that I sat in a different part of the restaurant than last time. The young lady was obviously not enjoying her work as a waitress and we, as customers, often felt it from her demeanor. The waiter who served us last time was in charge of another part of the garden. It was clear that his concept of customer service is on a completely different level. Warm approach and communication with the customer, humor, relaxed atmosphere. But I'm starting to understand the reviews that complain about the service. Next time we have to be careful where we sit. But even so, the food was again excellent and we will definitely come again sometime

Very tasty food and great service for young and old. The children have a nice play area and were very enthusiastic about the temporary robot. The atmosphere is very nice, everything is clean and tidy.

Although we like to taste local specialties, Babička caught our attention in Pirno. Excellent food and drink, the service is an example of the Czech nature (all with humor and a smile on their face). We had a good time and can only recommend it. Thank you for representing our republic in this way.

So I was thrilled. It was actually a coincidence that we ended up there. They still had a free table. The menu was already convincing. Delicious Czech beers and a wide selection of dishes. I decided on this beer goulash. And it was really, really tasty. The portion was so large that I was glad I didn't order an appetizer. The waiters are quick and very attentive and constantly keep an eye on the level of the beer glasses. And when it comes to the price, you can't complain at all. For €30 you will definitely go home full and satisfied. There are three delicious Urquell on tap included. No question, I would love to come back there.

impudence. Waited over an hour for the food, kept being put off. After 70 minutes we left. In principle, the kitchen has to pre-cook the food; goulash, roast beef or pork only work with advance cooking. So why does it take over an hour to prepare? Only one server for the entire guest room plus the outdoor area, and she is also disinterested. According to the cleaning notice, the toilets were last cleaned four days ago, and the guest room was also dirty. You don't need it...

Everything was very tasty and you were served very quickly. Highly recommended.
