Restaurant Babička in Pirna

A great quaint/Czech location. Very nice staff, fast service even when the house is full and delicious food. Unfortunately the prices are already too German, €8 for a Shopska salad…wow! But it didn't affect the overall impression.

Points were deducted when eating. Beef cheeks were tender but the mashed potatoes from the bag and the ready-stirred sauce didn't work at all. The chicken was also so dry that you could only eat it with a lot of liquid. Service was friendly. Conclusion, there are only 3 points for the food and that is already highly rated. Of course I cannot judge what the other dishes are like. For us there is no repeat.

Reservation was easy using the contact form. We were there for dinner and the restaurant was very busy. The service was quick and great. The food came quickly and was delicious. This was our second time there and we would always choose this restaurant.

The food was great - delicious and hearty, just like you know from your neighbors. Service, quick and friendly. A bit loud hall character in the otherwise cozy wooden rooms.

We were here with 7 people. We pre-ordered the table and it was very easy. The food tasted very good, came quickly and the waitresses were all very nice and attentive. What I always really like is when there are play areas for children, which was also the case here. After dinner, my boy was well looked after with a large selection of different play options. The toilets were clean and modern. We would be happy to come back and can recommend this restaurant without reservation.

Very nice, rustic restaurant in the middle of Pirna. We were there spontaneously, it was very busy at the time. We didn't have to wait long before we could order. The staff is very quick and always has a good saying to say. One of the servers started singing every now and then :). What was also new for us was the robot that brings the food to the table. Conclusion: Food and drink was delicious. The operators polite and courteous. That's why there are the full number of ✨. See you soon, we'll come by again ❤️

The food is typical Czech Republic, it tastes good but it's not a high experience but it is tasty. The service, on the other hand, was very nice and attentive and funny. The atmosphere felt like a large brewery and was very loud, so you couldn't really have a relaxed conversation. So if you like a lot of garlic and caraway, you're in good hands there.

Nice staff with pragmatic approach. Food was good. There was a lemon quarter on the schnitzel, which was rotten and moldy. The service quickly had a replacement brought, but the apology for such a kitchen mistake was rather simple. Good home cooking. The standard could be raised higher through better quality management. Service was quick and prompt.

A very fine restaurant with Czech cuisine, we were very satisfied with the restaurant and the cuisine. The dishes were very tasty and tasted original Czech. The staff was also very friendly and quick. We have put it at the top of the priority list. Very highly recommended!

Very friendly service. The food is OK. A little warmer wouldn't be a bad idea and the red/white cabbage should be crisper and not quite as mushy. Nevertheless, thanks to the nice atmosphere, it wasn't a failure.

Czech cuisine can do more, especially tasty, for less money - but not in this restaurant!!!! I decided on a large salad with chicken. The other dishes - roast with dumplings - were too massive/rich/much for me. After over an hour the food finally arrived. Unfortunately, the salad (according to the waiter I ordered wrong - you have to say "chicken with salad" according to his words - I ordered it that way and it didn't reach the recipient) turned into potatoes, beans with diced bacon and chicken. Didn't want to wait another hour - it was my fault!!! 🫣 The food was a complete disappointment: the chicken was killed twice... dry, without any spices, probably kept warm somewhere for hours, potatoes were swimming in fat/oil, totally tasteless, the beans, just as greasy/oily, only tasted like that Bacon cubes, otherwise there was no seasoning at all. And that for just under 18 EUR!!!! I don't need it again!!!

Fantastic food and great venue. The robot that brings the food to the table is very cool. The garlic soup is also highly recommended.

A very nice restaurant. Very friendly staff, typical Czech humor (if you've ever taken a boat trip on the Upper Lock, you know what I mean 😉). The food was very good, the portions are large and the prices are reasonable.

Once again on the trip to Saxon Switzerland we planned to go to the Czech Republic to enjoy the typical Bohemian cuisine. Due to a car problem we were stuck in Pirna and looked for a restaurant there. The joy was even greater that there was a “Hostinez” on the market square. On the outside it looks like a middle-class German inn and on the inside you are immediately beamed somewhere between Prague and Chomutov. Great atmosphere, authentic interior and the menu reads like the best of "Praha cuisine". Surprisingly, the amounts behind the tasty-sounding dishes on the menu aren't that far off from the original. Of course there was pivo on tap and a delicious roast pork with dumplings. Before that a classic garlic broth and afterwards... nothing, the portions were well filled. When I needed a copy of the invoice after a few weeks and had to clarify a small discrepancy, the managing director personally took care of it and resolved everything promptly to my complete satisfaction! We'd love to come back! Sbohem, rádi se vrátíme

Tourist trap in the heart of Pirna. We ordered goulash and roast beef, which were brought to the counter after just five minutes by an operating robot. This all-too-quick delivery didn't bode well - and indeed: the meat was tough and tasteless. Also the “real Bohemian” dumplings: boring, as is the sauce. Everything seemed or tasted to have been put together quickly and carelessly. Only the Pils tasted good. The service was just as disappointing, even outrageous: the Czech waitress and the Czech "counter attendant" (male) served without greeting and rudely and our point about the poor quality of the meat was met with a sneering grin. The German waitress who served us first was correct but has nothing to report. (The shop belongs to a Czech innkeeper who has created a gold mine here.) - Absolutely not recommended!

Service was a long time coming. I ordered pancakes. Then a robot brought the food - which doesn't fit at all with the ambience of the very, very nice place. At least a waiter came and brought the plate from the robot to the table. The pancake was delicious, but only one and it was very puny. Three bites and he was gone. Add fruit in decorative quantities, a little ready-made whipped cream and standard jam. For 3-4€ it would still be OK. but over 7 (I mean it was 7.90€!) are abnormal.

We stopped here after our visit to Weesenstein. We were greeted politely. Very tasty food was served to us after a short time. We felt super comfortable, like at grandma's. Service contributed greatly to this. A Robi also did his job and forgave with a smile and ❤️. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The Babička restaurant in Pirna is a real gem! As soon as you enter, you feel as if you have been transported to a cozy Czech farmhouse - the warm atmosphere and lovingly decorated details immediately create a feel-good atmosphere. The menu offers a wonderful selection of traditional Czech dishes, prepared with great dedication and authenticity. The goulash and dumplings in particular were excellently seasoned and tasted like they were homemade! The service also deserves special praise: the staff is attentive, friendly and conveys genuine hospitality. For lovers of Bohemian cuisine or those who want to try something new, Babička is highly recommended - a pleasure for all the senses and a real enrichment for Pirna!

Despite the restaurant being full, the staff made it possible for 5 people and a dog to get a table.

Friendly service, delicious food, generously sized

I've been there twice and will go there again. I can recommend it, my friends and friends were also very satisfied and some went there several times. I had made a reservation for a class reunion there, I could accommodate 29 people!! reserve👍. With advance order. Unfortunately not everyone was there, but it didn't matter. It worked very well. If you want to go out to eat with your wife or family, you are definitely in good hands here. The service, ambience and food are simply top! We were served in a friendly manner by all the service staff. There were no long waiting times here. The homemade lemonades are highly recommended. Everything tastes good here. Dogs are also welcome here and a water bowl is available for the good ones. Thank you for this lovely, unforgettable and tasteful evening. Gladly again!

1. Unfortunately, the Bohemian dumplings are not homemade 2. The meat was old and dry 3. It took 30 minutes until we got the drinks

Very nice restaurant. The food tasted very good and the portions were large, so you were really full. A little more expensive in terms of price, but the quality and taste of the goulash compensated for that very well.

Nice restaurant in the middle of the market square in Pirna. Czech dishes are served there and we enjoyed them. The food came very quickly after ordering, just as you would expect from the Czech Republic. The service was attentive and they were assisted by a robot that delivered the plates to the tables. The restaurant was full and it is better to pre-order. Can be further recommended.

As soon as you have sat down you are already confused about what you want to order and not all of the guests have even sat down yet. Very greasy food with garlic everywhere, so it tastes very similar. There is only a visual difference between red cabbage and sauerkraut, both were equally sugary and almost mushy.

We really wanted to eat dumplings and dumplings and the decision fell on Babička. We didn't regret it. Vaulted ceilings and paintings give a special atmosphere. We were entertained where Napoleon's bed used to stand 😅. Service is good. I ate the duck leg, which was cooked for several hours and baked until crispy. And, I have to say, I have never tasted better duck. Definitely a recommendation. Other dishes, according to my fellow travelers, were also delicious.

After a short trip to Saxon Switzerland, we finally looked for a good restaurant. We found this in Pirna and went there (reviews online). But we had booked a table in advance, which was good because the later it got, the more crowded it became. The menu was clear, which was a positive thing. A crowded menu is always not a good sign when it comes to the quality of the food. We ordered drinks and appetizers, which were brought quickly by a robot. After a while the main course came. This was very nicely prepared, but there was too much of the mass. The plate was simply overflowing. But we were quite disappointed in terms of taste, everything was very lightly seasoned, which we didn't expect. I had a 300g piece of pork which was over 50% fat, the beans looked like they were painted but didn't really have any taste. My companion had a poultry schnitzel which was very dry and not really seasoned. The waiter was very nice and funny, at least the service was good. We won't come back, we're not stingy, but the quality of the food doesn't match the price. Tastes are different and you certainly can't please everyone. From a visual point of view, absolutely great, service great, food mediocre, ambience economical and very cold.

The place was nice, the dishes we ordered were delicious, but the taste remained unpleasant. Thanks to one waitress and her rudeness. The atmosphere was created only by Mr. Waiter, who took great care of his guests. Even though he didn't serve us, he was nice to listen to. Unfortunately, the lady who, while serving the dish, asked her friend to finish us because she was going, or her answers in a casual tone left a bad taste.

The good Bohemian cuisine and the well-known Bohemian beer are well presented in this historic building. The remarkable wooden beam ceilings alone are worth a visit to the house known as Marieneck.

A really quaint Czech restaurant in the heart of Pirna. Friendly open reception from the service. Balanced menu, not overloaded and a hint of fresh cooking. Requests are responded to in a friendly and humorous manner. I had garlic soup which was specially spiced. It was delicious, like the other dishes. The ambience invites you to spend a cozy evening and socialize together. A clear recommendation from me.

Only needed a snack but unfortunately chose my least favourite form of bread which garlic did not help. If we ever go back we will get the robot to deliver something nice

We didn't even get to eat here because we were greeted at the table in a very unfriendly manner and told us the table wasn't ready yet. They could have told us that in a friendly way. Then four of us went to another restaurant with very friendly service and had a very nice evening. Service very unfriendly.

We had dinner here on Thursday evening. The dishes were very tasty and the price/performance ratio was right. Very nice atmosphere, outside and inside. Points are deducted for male service staff. He seemed visibly annoyed, even with other guests. A simple question about Majo seemed to overwhelm him. At first they didn't exist, then they did after we saw them ourselves on other tables. His colleague was very friendly and served us espresso on the house for the inconvenience. All in all, definitely recommended!

Big disappointment! I went to the Babička restaurant on the weekend with my family and friends to eat a meal together in a nice atmosphere, but unfortunately the staff prevented us from doing so. I had booked a table in advance and indicated that we would be happy to sit next to the children's corner because we would have a toddler with us who would like to play in the designated area. The waiter informed us that this was absolutely impossible. Of course, my first thought was that the tables were probably already occupied there. To my surprise, it turned out to be completely empty, and there were only two tables occupied in the restaurant itself. When we asked why we couldn't sit there, the waiter was dissatisfied and replied that it was too much of a problem because he would be serving tables in different parts of the place and it was inconvenient. I would like to point out that in this restaurant meals are delivered by a robot, so it's hard for me to understand it in any way :) The whole conversation had an unpleasant tone and meant that our afternoon was not as successful as we had planned. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Nice restaurant. Fast service. Typical offer from Bohemian cuisine. Quick preparation. Szeged goulash, meat loaf with fried potatoes were great. The other dishes did not delight the palate. It somehow lacked spice and aroma. Vegetable salad without ingredients is somehow unusual or is it typically Bohemian?

A nice restaurant on the market square in Pirna. Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. Everything was very sparse or not seasoned at all (e.g. the dish: zander fillet... sure, you can add more seasoning... but unfortunately it wasn't anything special... the grilled vegetables were overcooked and the rosemary potatoes didn't see any rosemary). The service is inattentive and seems overwhelmed. We wouldn't come back straight away.

Service is partly friendly, the kitchen closes 1 1/2 hours before closing depending on the mood of the day... And the quality of the kitchen is not recommended.

I really like the atmosphere and staff, quite a large dining room with 2 levels and an outdoor terrace, the food was very tasty and sufficient, there was a children's menu with a few dishes to choose from. The adult menu had something from everyone, the selection is not too overwhelming and is sufficient
