Every time we're on Norderney, a visit to Athens is a must. The food is delicious, and the waiter is a nice young man.

Very nice place and the staff were very friendly. We felt comfortable.

No friendly greeting, we were directly informed that we can only remain up to a certain time, which is not a problem in itself, but you can also say that in a friendly manner. We didn't really feel welcome. We had a child with us and no children's chair was offered, although there was. Overall not really attentive. Eating was okay, relatively small portions.

Our first visit there, and we were actually quite satisfied. The service was a bit slow but friendly. We sat outside, so we can't comment on the ambiance inside. We would come back because the food was delicious.

A bit off the beaten track and more of a classic "neighborhood Greek" place, but: really super-friendly service and a sensational feta cheese sauce to go with your meal! Definitely try it!

This was our first time at the Athen restaurant. We found it cozy. The food was delicious. The service was very friendly. We felt the price/performance ratio was okay. The restaurant isn't in the center, so there's a good chance of getting a table. Other Greek restaurants in the center were fully booked, so we decided on the Athen. We definitely recommend it.

With a lot of luck we got a table for two people today. The food was very, very good, the young man who served us was extremely friendly and accommodating! Definitely go there, preferably with a reservation.

I ordered a meat dish to take away. The price was surprisingly cheap, the food tasted very good. The staff was friendly. The restaurant is a bit out of the way, outside the town center, next to a bike rental shop. Definitely a recommendation. I'll be happy to take care of it again

Nice little Greek restaurant with friendly operators. The price range is typically Greek, as you would normally expect. The prices for Norderney are fair (no “island surcharge”).

We were there for the first time. We were lucky that we were able to get a table on New Year's Eve. It is a small but very charming restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Very attentive, nice staff. We ate very well. Unfortunately, with Greek dishes it is often the case that the meat is dry. Here that is not the case at all. Everything was very juicy and tasty. We left full and satisfied and can fully recommend this location.

Unfortunately, the takeaway food was so over-fried and partly inedible...a shame because we were based on such good reviews on site.

Very nice restaurant. We were there yesterday as a group with children, everything was very friendly and relaxed. Great price too. The only thing you can work on is the beer selection, but that too is a matter of taste. (The Norderneyer could be on the map)

Wir kommen seit einigen Jahren nach Norderney und Athen ist ein absolutes MUSS. Wie immer war alles top!!! Freundliche Bedienung, nettes Ambiente und super Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen. Norderney ohne Athen geht gar nicht. Immer wieder gern. Freuen uns auf den nächsten Urlaub.

Es hat alles gepasst, Reservierung empfohlen. Flexibel dann auch nach draußen (nicht reservierbar), freundliches Personal. Essen sehr gut, super zartes und krosses Gyros ohne zuviel Gewürze. Guter Grieche oder what ever, etwas abseits, klare Empfehlung, Hunde willkommen

A completely normal Greek restaurant, nothing extraordinary on the menu. Small and manageable. Drinks typical for tourists. There was nothing to complain about in terms of food, good. Prices ok. Staff friendly, a little more attention would be nice.

Today we had dinner with 7 people (2 men/5 women). Everyone was thrilled with the food, except the coleslaw could use more pizzazz and the tzatziki could use more garlic, but that's a matter of taste 😉

A nice restaurant, the food could be a little more

Our Food ! Garlic bread, a joke. Spread with margarine.!!! Pork fillet skewers filled with sheep's cheese were still partly raw. Spices were completely missing. Tasty is something else.

The food (bifteki, rice, tzatziki and coleslaw; price €17.50) was excellent! The portion size was reasonable and the price was appropriate. The restaurant was very nicely decorated and the service, especially the waitress, was exceptionally good!

Were very disappointed with the food. We've been there before, and now again after a three-year break. But that was also the last time. Dry gyros, liver not fresh and totally dry. Bifteki was totally over-seasoned, the coleslaw was barely seasoned and, at the end, almost everything cold.

There was no heating in the restaurant. Unfortunately we had to freeze. Food quite ok. The waitress prefers to chat with friends or regular guests rather than serve other guests.

Typical Greek place just outside of the city of Norderney, about 10 minutes by bike. Decent portions and appropriate prices. Everything was very, very garlicky, but really tasty. Friendly service. Unfortunately the waiting time was a bit long, even though it wasn't really full when we were there. Recommended.

Sehr leckeres Essen Komme immer wieder gerne hierher. Leider öffnet der Laden immer erst um 17 Uhr. Ich würde fast sagen dass man hier am besten griechisch auf Norderney essen kann.

Weine lecker, Vorspeisenplatte vielfältig und sehr gut, Leber und Suflaki auf den Punkt gegrillt und saftig, vorgewärmte Teller. Wirklich ein Genuss. Und wahrlich große Portionen. Nette familiäre Atmosphäre, guter und netter Service = 5 Punkte. Preis/Leistung vglw. noch gut. Ouzo aufs Haus. Heute stimmte alles… klare Empfehlung!

Unser jährliches "Insel Abschiedsessen" findet im Restaurant Athen statt. Eine langjährige Familientradition. Das Essen, sowie der Service ist nur zu empfehlen.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant, man kann drinnen oder draußen sitzen, Schirme oder Markise schützen vor Regen. Sehr nette und freundliche Bedienung meistens vom Chef selber. Essen sehr lecker 😋 und ausreichend. Keine lange Wartezeit. Gehen jedes Jahr mehrfach dorthin. Trotz der Lage im Gewerbegebiet immer gut besucht, deswegen sollte man vorher Reservieren.

Essen war okay bisschen versalzen aber noch im Rahmen. Tisch war auf 17 Uhr bestellt dennoch wurde uns bein ankommen gesagt der Tisch sei nur begrenzt verfügbar. Zeitdruck und das unfreundliche Personal sind die Begründung für meine schlechte Bewertung.

Krautsalat, Reis, Tzaziki sind ok gewesen. Aber was war das für ein unglaubliches Gyros? Helles viel zu dick geschnittene Fleisch ohne jeglichen Bräunungsgrad, das kann man doch nicht Gyros nennen! Selbst wenn es Pfannengyros gewesen ist, gibt dem Fleisch doch wenigstens die Chance knusprig zu werden. Was hat sich der Koch denn bitte dabei gedacht, wenn er so schwabbeliges weißes Fleisch auf den Teller bringt? Einfach nur respektlos dem Gast, so etwas anzubieten! Das Fleisch ist so wie es war direkt in die Mülltonne gekommen, aber nur weil ich wirklich zu faul gewesen bin, es euch direkt zurück zu bringen. Ich kann dem Koch nur eine Umschulung ans Herzen legen, mach irgendwas anderes aber kochen gehört definitiv nicht zu deinen Stärken.
