We got the feeling here that we were being discriminated against as Dutch. All the Germans around us quickly received their food, only after threatening to leave without drinks and starters did they finally bring our food. Once but never again.

Good food. We sat outside under the tents. At one point it started to rain heavily, between the tents and along the tents it leaked quite a bit onto the tables. The food was certainly tasty, but could have been a little more extensive for the price. Meat with a scoop of rice or fries. For example, for this price you would expect both.

You can have a good meal there with the family. Unfortunately the selection of vegetarian food is very limited. But otherwise the restaurant is highly recommended.

Hello everyone, Were there for the first time last night. And definitely not the last time. We had reserved (you definitely have to) for 7:30 p.m. and we got our table at 7:40 p.m. The place was super full but cozy and had a good, pleasant atmosphere. Drinks and cards arrived very quickly and we were able to enjoy the starter just under 30 minutes later. Completely within our opinion. As I said, the hut was full. Staff was very friendly and attentive. The main course and dessert also came appropriately. All in all it was a very nice evening. Attached are two pictures of the appetizer platter for two. And our main courses. If there is anything left over you can have it packed up. Also great. We'd love to come back.

After eating, the next people are already waiting for “your” table. Therefore no comfortable sitting is possible. But food is delicious

This Greek restaurant in Kleve is highly recommended. If you want to eat here, it is certainly wise to book in advance, because it is almost always full. I have been here several times now and can therefore speak from experience. The quality of the food is very good compared to other Greek restaurants in the region. Tender meat overall and nicely seasoned. A meal costs approximately €20/40 per person, including drinks. Of course it varies what you choose, but a simple plate with gyros and suzuki & souflaki (rice and salad) costs about 18/20 euros. After a delicious plate of food, which is often more than filling, you often get a glass of ouzo on the house. In short, a nice place to enjoy delicious Greek food, friendly staff and good quality food. We would love to come there Don't forget to make a reservation ;-)

Good day On the whole we were satisfied. However, we noticed that other visitors received a basket of bread with herb butter as a greeting without having specifically ordered it. What you know from most good restaurants. - Since our daughter only wanted bread and, as she loves it, herb butter, she enthusiastically ordered this. Where we thought it would be a little more plentiful for 4.80 and maybe even made yourself. Unfortunately it was like everyone else who did NOT order it separately (6 slices, 1 very thin and 1 end piece was included and bread, well nothing special) but what was nicely prepared was plenty of herbs (butter/magarine). Which was very poor for 4.80 and others had it for free. At the other, eat an ouzo plate. Since this was the only dish with gyros and souvlaki, it was 2 euros more for the ouzo. Here too it was found that all other tables received an ouzo without an extra dish or at no extra charge. It was very negative that you had to pay extra for services that were free at other tables (included in other good restaurants anyway) Very unfortunate. A gentleman was very impressed that he worked extremely quickly and was on hand with the tables, and that all the tables were actually cleaned, which was very positive. The food was very manageable but very tasty. The staff was also very nice. Only the lady on the phone took some getting used to and her tone with the employees. But otherwise everyone was very nice and attentive. Unfortunately, you feel a bit stupid when you have to pay for something that was for another service. But otherwise highly recommended, just don't order anything extra. Child-friendly and, as it seemed, dog-friendly was also a very big plus.

Had a bite to eat here last night around 5:30 PM after a day of shopping in Kleve. We had made a reservation and that was a good thing, there were people standing outside waiting to get in and the place was packed then. Already quite full. Ample parking space in front of the door and the restaurant is on the edge of the center. Friendly welcome and because we had made a reservation we were seated at the table within 2 minutes. Immediately a lady took orders for drinks and the menu, drinks were quickly placed on the table and we had now made our choice. As a starter the fried mushrooms and onion soup. And 2 x the Gyrosteller with ouzo, fries and salad. All this also came to the table quickly and tasted delicious, large portions of Gyros and delicious Tzatziki. After dinner we asked for dessert but we declined. We did get an Ouzo on the house The restaurant is popular with Dutch people given the conversations we heard and the yellow license plates in the parking lot. Good food and drinks in a Greek atmosphere for €60. We will definitely come back here again and if you are in the area, definitely have a bite to eat here. Keep it up and good luck 🍀

The food was super delicious and tasty! The meat was well cooked and dishes were served with rice or fries and a plate of salad. I loved the cocktails! Well designed and extraordinary taste! Aperol spritz was much better than what I’ve tried in the Netherlands! The restaurant had a bit smell of meat, when you entered it! That was the only problem, but it was not annoying. Friendly and caring staff and you can feel Greek atmosphere there:) Definitely back!

Been there again and again as a child. It is now run by the third generation and is the benchmark for Greek food for us. Everything has always tasted incredibly delicious and the recipes haven't changed! Stay as you are! My favorite dish for 40 years has been the 64-Fino platter with fries, an extra Bifteki and Metaxa sauce.

Nice, cozy greek restaurant with a nice atmosphere... but a bit of an "old people's place" feeling. Not the type of customers... it's the place itself. The staff is very nice and accommodating, and English is spoken. The food is very good, although it lacks a bit more fish on the Menu. Yet, I understand why, because fish is very expensive in Germany, there are not a lot of options... and Germans, to simply put it, don't eat fish. Loved the fact that they had Portuguese red wine. 👌🏽

Ich liebe das Restaurant… würde aber lügen wenn dort nicht schonn2x was schief gelaufen ist. Bestellung vergessen, zu lang auf einen bestellten Tisch gewartet… ABER dieses Restaurant ist immer problemorientiert und will den Kunden glücklich machen. Es wurde sich immer entschuldigt, beim ersten Mal gab es gratis Eis für alle… beim 2. x bei der Bestellung ein Getränk für die Wartezeit! Man muss sagen der Laden ist immer voll, die Qualität stimmt und die Menschen super lieb… es sind eben auch nur Menschen… Fehler passieren! Ich würde immer wiederkommen!

Es ist unser Stammrestaurant und das letzte Essen Rumpsteak mit Weißweinknoblauch-Sauce. sehr lecker und das Steak von unten bis oben rosa.👍

Sehr nettes Personal. Schönes Ambiente und das Essen war sehr lecker. Wir waren mit einer 10er Gruppe da und alle haben das Essen gleichzeitig bekommen. Sonderwünsche bei den Speisen war absolut kein Problem. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen.

Sehr empfehlenswert....das Essen ist super lecker ind der Service ist kaum zu übertreffen. Waren Silvester dort, obwohl alle Tische belegt waren, war das Essen relativ schnell da und die Servicemitarbeiter waren extrem freundlich und umsichtig. Alle waren begeistert. Also für mich...immer wieder gerne!

Weer de zondagmiddag lunch genoten hier. Net als andere families. Voor de vele en lekkere gerechten, de ruime salades en de vriendelijke bediening. Prima de ruimte. Ook voor de auto. Makkelijk aan te rijden. Na 14.30 uur werd het snel minder druk. Goedkoop tanken bij JET.

Lekkere snitzel gegeten. Wel lang in de gang moeten wachten terwijl we gereserveerd hadden. We stonden iedereen steeds maar in de weg daar, zowel medewerkers met volle dienbladen als nieuwe klanten die ook moeten wachten. Vandaar de sfeer op 2 sterren.

Super lekker en grote porties. Prijs is ook prima. Service zou net iets beter kunnen zeker als een van onze gerechten verkeerd gebracht werd. Dit hadden ze beter moeten oplossen. Al met al wel goed restaurant

Al 10-tallen jaren een geweldig adres.

Ohne Reservierung und bei vollem Haus Freitagsabend noch einen Tisch bekommen und sehr nett bedient worden. Essen war sehr lecker, auch wenn oder gerade weil die Portionen nicht völlig übertrieben waren. Eigentlich untypische Portionsgröße für einen Griechen, aber es gab auch Größere Portion auf den umliegenden Tischen. Für mich super, da man nicht aus dem Restaurant Rollen muss... Der Tisch auf der Ecke zur Tür war der fehlenden Reservierung geschuldet und dafür völlig ok. Die sehr junge Bedienung war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam! Top!

Sfeervol Grieks restaurant, vriendelijk ontvangst en prima bediening, naast Duits kan men hier ook Engels spreken. Wij hebben hier genoten van een lunch. Dit is een aanrader.

Wir sind immer sehr zufrieden und das Essen ist sehr lecker!! Tisch reservieren!!!

Mit der Freundin, mit den Jungs zum Mittag oder mit der Firma zur Feier. Hier geht alles. Qualität, Menge, Personal wie man es von einem Griechen erwartet. Und der Ouzo kommt auch nicht zu kurz. Unter den Griechen in Kleve spielt er auf jeden Fall die Hauptrolle!

Vielen lieben Dank für den super tollen Abend. Wie immer war es super lecker und von bester Qualität, aber an diesem Abend war auch noch eine persönliche Überraschung für mich drin. Das hat mich sehr gefreut. Ich liebe euch ❤️

Wir sind Gäste seit über 20 Jahren und ich kann immer noch Abwechslung genießen, einfach mal was anderes bestellen und es ist immer lecker. Es gab noch nichts was uns nicht geschmeckt hat (und wir bestellen gerne unterschiedlich). Wir lieben die Familie die zu Athen gehört genau so wie wir unsere Familie lieben und es ist jedesmal eine Freude dort hin zu gehen. Absolute Empfehlung für jedermann!

Naar aanleiding van andere beoordelingen die al jaren oud zijn ga ik ook een plaatsen, maar van recenter datum. Hier een tafel gereserveerd voor zondagavond om gezellig te gaan eten. Bij aankomst moet je voor de entree een trap op en daar staat al een grote asbak met bij behorende rokers en de passende lucht. Bij binnenkomst lijkt het meer een sportsbar dan een restaurant. Aan de rechterkant hangt een tv scherm van 3 bij 3 meter met passende flitsende beelden en een rumoerige omgeving. Eten bestellen ging vlot, net zo vlot als het eten optakel stond. Gyros overbakken met fetakaas, koolsalade en Pommes friet. Ten eerste krijg je hier Franse friet die binnen 3 minuten koud zijn, de gyros met kaas komt duidelijk uit de magnetron, kaas had de form van een rechthoekige plak gele kaas, die niet eens gesmolten was, er was niets van gebakken te herkennen , niet van kleur zoals een bruin korstje, is harder vlees. Ook de temperatuur van het verlees was verschillend. De koolsalade komt duidelijk uit een blik, klein en fijn gesneden met een ondefinieerbare smaak. Al met al geen leuke eetbelevenis. Als andere mensen schrijven dit is de beste Griek in kleve dan weet ik niet wat andere beoordelers hebben gegeten en waar. Voor mij/ ons niet meer. Dit is mijn mening die ik hier plaats.

Für uns die Nummer 1 am Platz! Echte griechische Küche. Das Restaurant ist Familiengeführt und man trifft dort mehrere Generationen an.

Nach langer Zeit war ich hier mal wieder essen. Das Restaurant hat ausreichend Parkplätze für Autos, Fahrradständer waren leider nicht vorhanden. Sitzen kann man entweder drinnen oder bei schönem Wetter auch im Pavillon außerhalb. Letzteres würde ich nur außerhalb der Stoßzeiten empfehlen, da das Restaurant direkt an einem Kreisverkehr liegt. Nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Kaum Wartezeit auf das Essen. Die Gerichte sind geschmacklich in Ordnung, von der Menge her jedoch nicht das, was ich von der Konkurrenz im Klever Umland gewohnt bin.

Wie man sich einen Griechen vorstellt. Ambiente passt, Service top. Man kommt der definitiv auf seine Kosten! Einfach nur weiter zu empfehlen!

Na veel aanbevelingen van bekenden ook maar eens naar Athen in Kleef. OK restaurant, wel met een Duits accent is dit toch een Grieks restaurant.  Het eten is er prima, lekker, keuze genoeg en een vlotte bediening. Ook een griekse aandacht voor kinderen, die hebben hun eigen kindvriendelijke keuze. De bediening kent ook de griekse mentaliteit, uitermate vriendelijk.

Als jaren komen we hier en telkens verbaas ik me erover dat het vlees altijd van dezelfde kwaliteit is. De kaart is uitgebreid dus voor ieder wat wils. Grote porties die je bijna nooit op krijgt maar je kan altijd de restanten meenemen naar huis. Echt een aanrader

Als wij Grieks eten gaan wij altijd naar Athen in Kleef. We komen er echt al zeker 30 jaar. Heerlijk eten en altijd een Ouzo na. (voor de kinderen een lollie) Prijzen zijn t.o.v. Nederland zeer gunstig. De eigenaar en het personeel zijn altijd heel erg attent.

Na wat boodschappen gedaan te hebben, was het tijd om ergens iets te eten. Uiteindelijk uitgekomen bij restaurant Athen. Heerlijk gegeten en het personeel was erg vriendelijk. Wij kregen ouzo in overvloed alsof het uit de kraan kwam. Wij komen hier zeker nog een keer.

Abbiamo preso un antipasto da dividere composto da un piatto completo di diversi assaggi: olive, fera, fruttini di verdura e tzaziki. Abbiamo continuato con una insalata Atene ed un piatto di calamari veramente di scarsa qualità. Conoscendo bene la cucina greca non lo consiglio per qualcosa di autentico . Due birre consumate con la cena peg un totale intorno a 35 euro.

Lekker eten en vriendelijk personeel. De porties zijn erg groot, gezien het bedrag wat je ervoor betaald kom je dus niks te kort. In de weekenden of feestdagen wel reserveren, het is meestal erg druk.
