Restaurant Armonia-Reichsstadt in Esslingen am Neckar

The location is, of course, great, but the food isn't that tasty. I had the Paros plate, which was a very small portion and very expensive for that. The side dishes were mediocre. There are many better restaurants in Esslingen, so I don't understand the good reviews.

Fast service, nice food. There are only two vegetarian options though.

We were here on Tuesday. We had good food and drinks. We felt very comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant!

The price/performance ratio is good, and depending on the waiter, they can be more or less friendly, and depending on the situation, they even offer a free ouzo. The food came quickly, but it's a bit less expensive than it was a few months ago.

If there were zero stars, I'd give it immediately. We just wanted a drink with the prospect of food. Unfortunately, on the day of Pride, June 21, 2025, we were immediately turned away with the words, "The tables are reserved and we're a restaurant!" (Mind you, we weren't dressed in rainbows at all, not even close.) It's sad when people act like that and want to make money, but put their own intentions above those of the business. You definitely don't embody friendliness and openness. We naturally went to another restaurant.

Waren spontan mal wieder im Armonia essen, da es für uns immer sehr gut war. Leider hatten wir Freunde im Schlepptau und sind nun verantwortlich für den unterirdischen Abend. Tisch war reserviert auf 19 Uhr, es war recht warm und wir warteten erstmal ca 30 Minuten auf unsere Getränke. Danach erst durften wir essen ordern. Gegen 20Uhr kamen die Vorspeisen. Das man für das Brot mindestens 2,90€ Aufpreis zahlen muss zum Tzatziki finde ich persönlich nicht gerechtfertigt da Brot einfach zum Tzatziki gehört vor allem bei den Preisen. Gegen 20:30 kam der Salat welcher auf 8 Teller komplett unterschiedlich groß war. Zwischen Salat und tatsächlichem Essen waren nochmals 30 Minuten sodass wir gegen 21 Uhr endlich unser essen bekamen. - Bifteki geschmacklich ok Temperatur warm - Gyros fettig und kalt - Gyros mit kleinem Bifteki fettig und das Bifteki war ohne Käse und mehr oder minder vermutlich der Hackfleisch Rest vom großen Bifteki und sehr hart gepresst alles zusammen kalt - eh klar - Gyros in Metaxasoße was eigentlich immer glüht weil überbacken aus dem Ofen gut warm aber dennoch sofort essbar. Alle Portionen waren eher klein Preis Leistung somit schlecht. Die beiden Kinder welche dabei waren. Waren natürlich sehr erfreut über 2h warten bis zum essen - ihre Kinderportionen hingegen waren riesig. Als der erste sein Teller leer hatte wurde das sofort abgezogen. Obwohl der Rest am essen war - ein No Go. Das bezahlen ließ dann auch ewig auf sich warten. Somit leider erstmal aus unserer Liste der Restaurants welche wir empfehlen können gestrichen!!! Da die Bewertung bei Google gelöscht wird da Sie angeblich falsch ist - komme ich definitiv nie wieder in den Laden - man sollte sich einen Fehler auch eingestehen!!

Great location right on the market square. With a view of the town hall. We went for lunch and sat outside. We had gyros with potatoes. It tasted very good. The portions are a bit smaller for lunch, but OK. It came with salad and dessert. The fries weren't that good, they had a strange aftertaste, hence one star deducted. The service was very friendly. The food came very quickly.

We spontaneously went to eat at Armonia again, as we've always enjoyed it so much. Unfortunately, we had friends with us and are now responsible for the terrible evening. Our table was reserved for 7 p.m. It was quite warm, and we waited about 30 minutes for our drinks. Only then were we allowed to order food. The appetizers arrived around 8 p.m. I personally don't think it's fair to pay at least €2.90 extra for the bread with tzatziki, as bread simply belongs with tzatziki, especially at these prices. Around 8:30 p.m., the salad arrived, which was completely unevenly sized on eight plates. There was another 30 minutes between the salad and the actual food, so we finally got our food around 9 p.m. - Bifteki tasted OK, but the temperature was warm. - Gyros were greasy and cold. - Gyros with a small bifteki were greasy, and the bifteki was without cheese and more or less probably the leftover minced meat from the large bifteki, and very hard-pressed, all together cold - of course. - Gyros in Metaxa sauce, which is usually always piping hot because it's baked and warm from the oven, but still edible immediately. All portions were rather small, thus poor value for money. The two children who were with us were, of course, very pleased about the 2-hour wait for their food - their children's portions, on the other hand, were huge. When the first person finished their plate, it was immediately deducted. Even though the rest of the family was still eating - a no-go. Paying also took forever. So, unfortunately, it's off our list of restaurants we can recommend!!!

Great Greek restaurant in the most beautiful central location in Esslingen's old town. Nice ambience inside and beautiful views if you can eat outside. Large selection of dishes prepared with high quality and quantity. Excellent service, topped off with an ouzo on the house. We always enjoy coming back.

Delightful! Staff were welcoming even though we were only having dessert. English menu - always helpful! Pleasant atmosphere with large tables so we could spread out a bit. Chocolate biscuit was far more than expected but was a bit too sweet for my taste. The menu is extensive, and we’ll be back. Specifically, many reasonable lunch options!

On the drive there there was discussion about the lack of Stifado in Greek restaurants. Guess it was on the weekly menu. It was prepared with love and time, and Mom is probably still behind the stove. It was delicious, everyone at the table would order it again.

Yesterday we (4 people) were at Armonia for the second time, as our first visit was simply great. We wanted to celebrate my husband's birthday. When we walked in we were greeted and shown to a table. The waiter Georgios seemed very annoyed and fidgety even then, even though only 3-4 tables were full. From picking up our dishes to serving and cashing, he treated us in a downright provocatively unfriendly way. He also speaks German very brokenly. He has a very rough and fidgety manner. I have to say it's almost aggressive. We sent the beef fillet to our friend to be fried twice because the meat inside was still completely raw, even though we wanted the meat to be well done. The waiter rolled his eyes, made faces and comments about us at the next table. Totally shocked by his unprofessional behavior, I asked him about it, and he then became louder and more aggressive. He said I should complain and his name was Georgios. So, that's what I'm doing now. We definitely won't come again! That's it.

Perfect experience from start to finish! I had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant and all I can say is that everything was just right. The food was excellent - from the starters to the dessert, every course was a delight. The quality of the ingredients, the preparation and the presentation of the dishes were at the highest level. The service was equally attentive, friendly and competent. The staff made sure we didn't lack for anything without being intrusive. The ambience is very inviting both inside and out. It's a shame, we were very happy to have delicious Greek food again but unfortunately we were totally disappointed. We were there relatively early and there wasn't much going on, but the waiter was very annoyed and unfriendly. Eating took a very long time, about 1.1/2 hours, wouldn't have been so bad if it had at least been good, but I've rarely eaten so badly. All the plates were still full when we asked for the bill, it didn't matter at all why we didn't eat . That was a unique experience

This is our fifth time here. Every time we are surprised at how good the service and food are! This time I ordered Haloumi Souvlaki (vegetarian, right) and it was simply outstanding! I would heartily recommend it to anyone who prefers vegetarian food without hesitation! P.s. As a starter, fried zucchini ☺️ I will come back.

Nicely located and great views if you can sit outside on a sunny day. The menu is very tailored to German eating habits. The dishes are very tasty. I missed the Melitzanosalata and mussels in tomato sauce. The fried anchovies, the farmer's salad and the plate of gyros and calamari were very good and the portions were large.

We got a spot in the beautiful outdoor area on a sunny holiday. The waiters seemed a bit listless, but were very quick. The lamb chops were great! Unfortunately, the other dishes/side dishes didn't convince us: the side salad was drowned in dressing, the rosemary potatoes were overcooked, and the remaining vegetables were not yet cooked. The gyros and the baby calamari were good, although not exceptional, and the fries weren't cooked through either. Unfortunately, unlike many other guests, we didn't have any ouzo at the end.

Waited about 2 hours outside (beer garden) for the main meal. Service is unfriendly and not very interested in the customer. When ordering the food, one of our small group was forgotten. The food itself was good but not something that would make you want to come back. My gyros with Metaxa didn't have a splash of it in it. I was able to compare that well because I had the same meal in another restaurant two days before.

The decor doesn't fit a Greek restaurant, but the food showed where you ended up. Starters very tasty. We shared the starters across the entire table and were actually full afterwards. The main course was already too much but unfortunately not quite to my taste. It was a very nice visit and we would love to come back!

Nice restaurant, attentive staff, very friendly. Good food, but everything is served with rosemary potatoes, which aren't that great because they're overcooked. My tip would be Greek potatoes (fried potatoes), they go better with it and are more neutral to the food. Price performance OK, fits. Otherwise, the steep stairs should be mentioned, not for people with walking difficulties.

1. Das einzige Lokal, das am 06.01.24 Gäste willkommen hieß und vor allem geöffnet hatte, sehr freundlich und aufmerksam und sehr gutes Essen, werde auf jeden Fall dort wieder zum Essen gehen.

Wir waren zu dritt zum Abendessen. Fischplatte, Wolfsbarschfilett und Parosteller. Alles mit Beilagen Salat. Top zubereitet und geschmacklich hervorragend. Der Service sehr zuvorkommend und nett. Preislich absolut in Ordnung. Das Ambiente ist sehr gemütlich und läd zum verweilen ein. Klasse, weiter so. Kommen auf jeden Fall wieder mit Freunden.

Weihnachtsessen mit der Familie. Ein tolles Ambiente. Sehr schöne und geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Trotzdem dass das Restaurant offensichtlich bis auf den letzten Platz gefüllt war, war das Team immer sehr freundlich und wirkte nie gestresst. Was ja manchmal der Fall ist, wenn viel los ist. Wir mussten ein bisschen länger warten, was uns aber nicht gestört hat und sicherlich dem Zeitpunkt geschuldet war. Das Essen war superlecker. Liebevoll angerichtet und die Portionen waren auch gut. Insgesamt eine abwechslungsreiche Speisekarte, die auch für Vegetarier eine schöne Auswahl bietet. Einziger Minuspunkt wenn überhaupt war die Lautstärke und die Tatsache dass im Hintergrund sogar noch Musik lief.

We went into this restaurant expecting a traditional German restaurant but found a very good Greek restaurant right in the middle of the main square in Esslingen. The restaurant was really empty, but I think this is because of the date and time at which we arrived. We were greeted with some ouzos (Greek drink). We ordered some breaded zucchini, which were incredible, and a potato soup, which was also very very good. The main dishes were a combination of calamari and gyro meat, which were also very good but very very big, so we ended up not being able to finish them. At the end I ordered a double espresso which was ok, and the restaurant gave us some complimentary simple desserts made of Greek yogurt and sweet carrot. The staff was really polite and very friendly, and the restaurant does have a changing room for babies, but is not stroller/wheelchair friendly, as the main entrance has some stairs. I would definitely come back again, but hopefully sometime between 11 and 14:30, on weekdays, which is when they have their mid day menus at better prices.

Sehr schönes Lokal, die Kellner waren freundlich und sehr zuvorkommen. Das Essen war unfassbar lecker und innerhalb von 15 Minuten bei uns am Tisch. Wir kommen bei unserem nächsten Besuch in Esslingen gerne wieder. 🥰

Das Essen war gut, wir hatten Fischfilet, Gyros und eine Kinderportion Putenschnitzel. Der Fisch war toll gegart, und alle Gerichte waren schmackhaft. Die Portionsgröße vollkommen in Ordnung und die Preise angemessen für die Qualität. Wir mussten da wir nicht reserviert hatten kurz warten bis ein Tisch für uns 4 frei wurde, aber länger wie 10 Minuten haben wir trotz verkaufsoffenem Sontag in Esslingen nicht gewartet. Der Service war bemüht aber aufgrund des komplett belegten Gastraums etwas langsam. Alles in allem haben wir ein leckeres Mittagessen genossen, und werden sicher Mal wieder vorbeischauen.

Wir waren gestern mit circa zwölf Personen dort: 1. Das Ambiente und die Einrichtungen sind sehr ansprechend und gemütlich es gab von mir nur einen Punkt Abzug wegen der viel zu lauten Musik - die wurde auch nicht leise gestellt obwohl ich darum gebeten hatte -. Mir ist immer wieder unverständlich, warum man eine Beschallung in einem Restaurant haben muss, wenn Gäste sich unterhalten wollen aber ich bin auch ausgesprochen sensibel was das angeht) 2. Das Essen ist sehr ansprechend zubereitet und angerichtet kommt sehr schnell hat aber bei ein paar Personen zur Folge gehabt, dass es nicht richtig heiß war! Ich selber hatte einen Teller (Sepia/ gyros), Die Zutaten waren wirklich sehr frisch. 2.1 Preise sind völlig in Ordnung Vor allen Dingen sind die Portionen so dass man wirklich davon satt wird. 3. Der Service war wirklich prima, bis auf die Tatsache dass auf meine Musik Beschwerde nicht eingegangen wurde. 4. Die Toiletten sind im ersten Stock und ich glaube nicht, dass die barrierefrei erreichbar sind Fazit: Ein empfehlenswerter Grieche natürlich Fleischlastig wie üblich aber wirklich gut

Essen Geschmack und Service ist gut. Jedoch war mein Lammfilet komplett durchgebraten, deshalb war es relativ "hart". Hier habe ich einen Punkt abgezogen(bei einigen wären es diesbezüglich vermutlich mehr...). Deshalb bei der Bestellung vielleicht darauf hinweisen, dass das Lammfilet medium oder wie auch immer serviert wird.

Wer Abends gemütlich den Tag genießen will ist hier genau richtig. Das Gyros in Metaxa ist einfach direkt aus dem Olymp. Abgerundet wird das Ambiente mit dem aufmerksamen Service! Machen sie doch einmal einen griechischen Kurzurlaub!

Sehr nettes Restaurant und sehr gemütlich dort. Der Service ist wunderbar und die Bedienung ist sehr zuvorkommend und aufmerksam. Das Essen hat mich jetzt nicht so ganz vom Hocker gerissen. Rosmarinkartoffeln waren nur Salzkartoffeln, da hat der Rosmarin gefehlt. Das Gyros war okay.

Ωραίο μαγαζί ωραία ατμόσφαιρα ωραίο σέρβις όσο για το φαγητο … 1 μπιφτέκι πολυ καλο και καλοψημένο 2 Γυρος ξερός φουλ μέσα στα μπαχαρικά και μύριζε άσχημα ! Ειδικά όταν κρύωσε… μπορω να δεχτώ άσχημο σέρβις κακοψημενο φαγητο θα πω ότι ήταν μια άτυχη στιγμή αλλά το να με σερβίρουν φαγητό που μύριζει οχι ! Δυστηχως για εμένα αυτό με κάνει να μην ξαναπατήσω ! Όσο για τις τιμές γύρο στα 20-30 ευρώ το άτομο γενικά οκ για τις σημερινές εποχές

Wir waren am Feiertag um 14.22 und haben trotz Mittagspause ab 14.30 noch essen bekommen. Und wurden freundlich bedient. Die Kellner waren alle sehr nett. Unsere Vorspeise war lecker und optisch wunderschön angerichtet. Die Hauptspeise war reichlich und lecker. Schade ist das man das Brot extra bestellen muss bei den meisten Griechen gibt es das immer dazu. Mein Fazit schöne Lage guter Service leckeres essen

wollte für 4 Personen Essen bestellen zum Mitnehmen, brachte eigene Behälter mit, diese wurden abgelehnt (sie seien zu klein; die Behälter später vom Restaurant waren auch nicht größer); dann bitte um Mehrwegbehälter, wurde ignoriert oder nicht verstanden (überhaupt Verständigungsprobleme, da von 5 Kellnern keiner richtig Deutsch verstand). Essen wurde dann in mehreren Einwegbehältern aus Pappe, Styropor, durchsichtigem Plastik gebracht. Personal sehr unfreundlich, ungehalten. Es sollte (und ist vorgeschrieben) heutzutage Standard sein, dass mitgebrachte Behälter angenommen werden bzw. Mehrweggeschirr angeboten wird.

Total schöne Location mit netten Ambiente, nette Leute und ein unfassbar leckeres Essen. Es war sehr voll und dennoch haben wir alle stets gleichzeitig das Essen bekommen - man ist offenbar gut koordiniert. Die Preise können sich ebenfalls durchaus sehen lassen.

Wir waren vor einigen Tagen hier essen. Das Essen war sehr gut. Ebenso das Ambiente. Was leider weniger erfreulich war, war das Verhalten einer Bedienung. Lustlos, genervt und gegen später auch nahezu unverschämt war ihr Auftreten. Wir sind die Letzten, die den Angestellten keinen Feierabend gönnen. Aber ein höfliches oder ganz normales "Letzte Runde" oder "Wir schließen bald. Darf ich bitte abkassieren" oder einfach ein dezenter Hinweis wäre völlig in Ordnung gewesen. Die Dame zog es vor, das ganze Repertoire an genervter Mimik und Gestik auszupacken, die es so gibt und hat uns unter wüstem Augenrollen und schnippischen Kommentaren verabschiedet. Meine Freundin war schon 5 x in diesem Restaurant und war begeistert von dem sonst so überaus freundlichen und lustigen Kellner, der an diesem Abend zu seinem Glück, aber unserem Pech wohl leider frei hatte. So hatten wir das "Vergnügen" mit seiner Kollegin, die zumindest an diesem Abend und gegenüber uns deutlich gezeigt hat, dass ihr die Arbeit, die sie da tut, keinerlei Freude bereitet. Diese Bewertung bezieht sich alleine auf diese eine Person. Alles andere war prima und es gibt nichts zu bemängeln. Hoffen wir, dass sie nur einen schlechten Tag hatte...

Sehr leckeres Essen mit tollem Grill Aroma. Deftig aber nicht zu schwer. Schneller netter Service. Der Vorspeisen Salat war leider lieblos und beim Wein hatten wir kein Glück. Vllt beim nächsten Mal 5 Sterne 😉 Update 09.08. Muss leider deutlich korrigieren. Sind trotz dessen, dass das lokal nicht voll war ignoriert worden. Das Essen war außerdem komplett ungewüzt. Schade.
