Really great restaurant. Food very tasty, waitresses are very attentive and friendly. The children received art supplies and gummy bears. Very rustic atmosphere.

Friday evening, 4 people. , nothing works without a reservation; The food was good. The staff was friendly and quick; Actually a good restaurant, the only thing that bothered me was that tables are for 90 minutes. reserved, then it's time to clear it again.

Had a look at the kitchen, which is sparkling clean in terms of cleanliness. You can tell that the kitchen staff cooks with love. We were completely satisfied and would love to come back.

Found this restaurant by chance. Went to other restaurants in Oberstaufen before and everyone turned us away because we didn't have a reservation (5 people). But not in the Papstalm...despite the full hut and many waiting guests who didn't have a reservation, they didn't send us away. We waited 45 minutes for a table but it was worth it. The food came relatively quickly, was very tasty and plentiful. The staff very professional and friendly. Here you could immediately tell that professionals are at work and that they enjoy making guests happy. The atmosphere is a bit rustic and the mood music in the background suited us very well since we were traveling with children. The children even received a coloring sheet and crayons so they wouldn't get bored. As I said, the food was very tasty. We were guests two more times during our holiday week (this time with a reservation) and the service and food were great there too. We'll definitely be back next year! Attractive restaurant with very nice and attentive service staff. Unfortunately, the food was so bland and poorly prepared that even the children didn't want any dessert. We had cheese spaetzle three times, the spaetzle as well as the onions (!) were completely overcooked, I couldn't taste mountain cheese and anything like white lacquer. On top of that, all three of us were sick that night, so we missed a day of vacation.

Unfortunately I can't give more than 5 stars... Yesterday lunchtime - Saturday - happened to stop by and stop by. Very nice, funny service staff and delicious food (goulash soup with bread and schnitzel (2) Viennese style with fries. We had a schnitzel packed for us, it was just too much for me. Also very tasty in the evening. Today - Sunday - came by again around 2 p.m. It was very very busy and the same staff as the day before. We came by without a reservation and were lucky to get a table. It took a little longer today due to the high volume of guests, but we are on vacation! We were also able to take the Kaiserschmarrn with us without any problems. Thanks for that! I can only recommend the restaurant! A tiny note: the women's toilets are very small - but clean

The food and the ambience are rather rustic and home-style. The meals were very tasty! It is advisable to make a reservation. Particularly noteworthy is the excellent service: our waiter Stefan did his job simply brilliantly. Anyone who works as a waiter can learn a lesson here. Super attentive, but still unobtrusive. The place seems to be in high demand. Might be related to the high rating on Google Maps. For most of our stay there was a queue of people waiting for a table to free up. Numerous with reservations. We were in luck and able to have our dinner even slightly before our reserved slot. Everyone was very friendly and efficient. Especially considering the turnover with serving and cleaning tables. The food came rather quickly. Unfortunately, the quality didn't meet the expectations which the restaurant's high rating had created. The boring salad for 7€ is overpriced for what it was and we're still wondering why it came with a slice of orange. The goulash soup was OK. No complaints about the bread it came with. While the deer goulash was tender, the taste of the meat and the sauce was disappointing. Further, the side dish, croquettes, were fried for too long and got too dark and dry. The rösti, we ordered as a side dish, were very thin and therefore also ended up being too dry. At around 20h30 the dance bar below the restaurant seems to start. At least this was the time when the annoying vibrations started making sitting there a bit uncomfortable. Cudos to the staff. But how that rating was achieved is a mystery to me. There are so many excellent restaurants in Oberstaufen and the surrounding area, that you shouldn't waste your time with this one.

Gutes Preis-Leistungs- Verhältnis. Nettes und aufmerksames Personal. Manchmal etwas gestresst, da das Lokal immer voll belegt war als wir da waren. Das erhöht den Geräuschpegel natürlich. Haben zweimal zu Abend gegessen und waren sehr zufrieden.

Can't share the recessions. The food was cold, the boiled potatoes tasted like they had been warmed up twice. Cabbage rolls have absolutely no taste. I don't even need to start with the coffee, it tasted like dishwater.

However, in our opinion, we found the prices to be in no way justified. We like to go out to eat and like to spend money, but paying €6.80 for a portion of fries and €8 for a portion of children's spaetzle with sauce is a rip-off for us. To then charge €19 for the Cordon Bleu is outrageous. 19€ - 6.80€ for fries makes 12.20€ for the meat. No salad, no sauce… nothing… Sorry, that doesn't work at all. We had the children's spaetzle with sauce elsewhere for half price. Please don't misunderstand, everyone should earn their money, but not like this! The price-performance ratio is the only thing that bothered us.

Nice atmosphere, but of course less comfortable in the entrance area on Saturday evening. At least you can tell which guest has reserved and which hasn't. I'm not deducting any stars for this. But the food had room for improvement. The cheese spaetzle tended to taste like scrambled eggs and hardly any cheese. In addition, a touch of vegetables would have been a bright spot on the rather sparsely prepared plate. The steak was cooked to perfection.

We come every year, it's just great there, the food is very tasty, especially the schnitzels. And Stefan, our waitress, is simply great. Very pleasant and friendly, fast and perfect, and still peace and quiet, even if the restaurant is very full as usual. You don't often find staff like that.

Can't share the good reviews, my breaded pork schnitzel came from a bulk package. The fries were rock hard. The whole drama cost almost 18 euros. Without a side salad, which then cost almost 8 euros. There are restaurants in town that now have the same quality offer much better. The Apostle used to be cheap and therefore compromises were made. Today you can get better quality elsewhere for the same price.

The ambience was great, only the music on the terrace was inappropriate... A mountain pasture has different music, but it was too loud. The liver and the schnitzel were tough... The spinach dumplings were inedible, just a tough cardboard...

We had great service “vintage 85”. The food was also delicious and the ambience was as expected from the name. Conclusion: we will come back!

During our vacation we ate at the Apostl Alm twice - and it was a pleasure every time! The food was not only extremely tasty, but was also served quickly. The friendly service and the cozy atmosphere ensured that we felt completely comfortable and enjoyed staying there. It is particularly advisable to reserve in advance to avoid possible waiting times. Anyone who is a guest in Oberstaufen and the surrounding area should definitely not miss a visit to the Apostl Alm - it is worth it in every respect!

Nice Bavarian furnished shop. Large selection of food, good. Example: Jägerschnitzel: is with mushroom sauce but without mushrooms.

I really like the Apostl Alm, the ambience, the service is professional, the food and Pfännle are “Swiss style”. Pork loin topped with bacon and mountain cheese, served with fried potatoes and gravy served separately. How you can prepare pork loin so dry and carelessly top it with bacon and cheese is beyond me. From my point of view, the fried potatoes are a complete disaster - oily, limp potato slices that have nothing in common with the term fried potatoes. As for the gravy, the taste wasn't good and I can't define it. The service and ambience have to be right, but I go to a restaurant primarily to eat well. There is still a lot of room for improvement, I wish you much success and that my impression helps you to improve the products described.

We went here for dinner with our little one. Very nice staff. Pens, something to color in and a children's chair were immediately brought. The food we ordered was also very tasty. The little one got spaetzle with cream sauce and her food came earlier than ours, which was super convenient. We don't know whether this was planned or just a coincidence because it's not an elaborate meal, but it was great because the little ones are known to have a little less patience :) I had the burger with fries and my wife had the dumplings. Both were very tasty. We can really recommend it here.

Unfortunately we have a bad experience to report at the Apostl Alm today. I was served moldy bread with my sausage salad. I received neither an apology nor any accommodation from the restaurant. I was told that I would receive new bread. This was then passed on to me about 15 minutes later when I asked further. The quality of the bread was hardly better, but you have to be lucky that the few slices of bread came free of fungus. The rest of the order was ok, but nothing more.

We had a family meal with 4 adults, a toddler and a baby. The atmosphere is cosy and quite loud, which is great for a toddler because you don't have to worry about him making noise. Plus there were quite a few dogs barking. The food was nice, classic german dishes. I enjoyed the käsespätzle which came with a small salad. The rest of our group said the meals were nice, not outstanding but fair for the price.

With a small child you want to eat so quickly 🫣, from the food to the staff fantastic, very friendly! Price/performance is top only for children's fries I personally think €6.5 is too much but yes, everyone knows better how their shop runs! But still the shop deserves its 5*!

We have eaten there several times and have always been very satisfied. However, this lunchtime, when there weren't that many guests there, we were only briefly greeted with a "you can sit wherever you want." We took a seat and then waited about 15 minutes for the conditions even though, as I said, there weren't many guests there. Then drinks and food would be taken and then we waited another 20 minutes until the waitress remembered that we were still waiting for the drinks, the other waitresses didn't even know what we had ordered. We ordered it again and then the drinks came out quite jaggedly and the waiter had forgotten to order the food. Then another 30 minutes and there still wasn't much going on. Food tasted good but there was no question as to whether everything was ok or tasted good. Portions very large. Unfortunately it wasn't a good experience.

Were in Oberstaufen because of our vacation and ate at the Apostl Alm because of the good reviews. We were NOT disappointed. The restaurant was almost full for a Sunday evening. After a short wait we got a table. Ambience, food, everything was great. Unfortunately the service was poor, we had a slightly longer waiting time for orders. But this was still within the scope for us. What unfortunately doesn't work at all happened at the end of the evening. When paying, the tables around us were all offered a liqueur on the house without being asked by the waitress. Unfortunately this was not done for us. We didn't find this appropriate at all and didn't feel particularly welcome for another visit.

It was a great dinner. Waiters very friendly, entertaining, competent. We sat outside and were served well despite there being a lot of guests. Cheese spaetzle, pork fillet with chanterelles and bread dumplings (extra request) very tasty.😋 The hammer was Prinz's nut schnapps. A pleasure with a 'KickMe' (not just drinking, smelling!). All in all, a worthwhile visit. Price-performance very good. Thanks. PS: Bread dumplings with Ramstein/Metallica are also something special 👍😉

What can you say... the staff are like bees, super hard-working. It was great with children, they were able to paint before ordering. You can't go wrong when it comes to eating either. I can happily recommend it! I'll definitely stop here again on my next trip.

Some of the food was there before the drinks, it was tasty, but it was definitely not homemade or freshly prepared, the service seemed overwhelmed. We cannot understand the very good reviews. It was ok, but designed more for mass production...unfortunately

Food itself was quite ok. There are children's menus. The service regularly asked whether everything was ok and whether we needed anything else, extremely friendly and attentive! Normally with so many guests you get forgotten. Ambience: Music was a little too loud.

Wir waren elf Personen in der Gruppe und sind zum Tanzen ins Untergeschoss gegangen aber die Musik war so dröhnend laut und der Bass fibrierte so stark das es unerträglich war für unsere Ohren wir haben das eigene Wort nicht mehr verstanden die Musik war einfach überdröhnt wir sind dann in ein anderes Tanzlokal gegangen wo die Musiklautstärke annehmbar war

We were very satisfied. The food tasted really good and the portions were good. Super nice and attentive waiters and waitresses - they both have a menu that they could draw on the back. We brought them pencils and a game straight away. We were very happy with everything and the price was great for a family of 4

As luck would have it, we were able to get to know the Papst Alm as a restaurant and the chef. The restaurant is family-run with a lot of passion and is centrally located. Thank you for the excellent service - it was an honor! We will be back! ☀️😎🍷

A wonderful restaurant! Very high quality and comfortably furnished both inside and outside. The waiter was quick and humorous. And the food - first class! I had cheese spaetzle, and one thing you have to admit: the Allgäu people make the very best cheese spaetzle! The prices were also surprisingly moderate. I can absolutely recommend the restaurant and will be happy to come back.

There were four of us yesterday (4 girls) to eat and celebrate my birthday. As always, the food was simply delicious and our service was top notch. The highlight: I received a birthday surprise from the boss. Mega mega sweet. Thank you very much again for everything. We'd love to come back

We were at the restaurant around 6:30 PM. At that time there was hardly anyone inside, because everyone was sitting outside. Fast service, good portions with main course and dessert.

We got a place for 8 people at short notice on Whitsunday. Top. The service was friendly and quick. Not even having to wait 30 minutes for your food in a full restaurant is a great achievement. It was also super tasty and the portion was big enough. We will definitely come here again. Keep it up.
