Restaurant Am Wildpark in Gangelt

A very nice, cozy restaurant in the middle of the wildlife park. We've spontaneously stopped in several afternoons, and the Belgian waffles are very good, as are the latte macchiato and cappuccino. The last time we stopped in, we had reserved a table for this evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to our table. The restaurant was almost full. Nevertheless, it wasn't loud, but cozy. The friendly staff had everything under control. Drinks and food arrived quickly and tasted excellent. We had the steak in pepper cream sauce and the Hawaiian schnitzel with fried potatoes and bacon and a side salad with a delicious dressing. They asked us several times if everything was okay, if it tasted good, or if we had any other requests. Since I couldn't finish my large portion, they packed it for me to take away. We'll definitely be back because the food is excellent and the atmosphere is great. Highly recommended 👍🏻 Please make sure to reserve a table for the evening.

This restaurant will amaze you! What quality. Besides the fact that you're in a truly beautiful setting (in the forest, among the goats and billy goats), the food is really sooooooooooo delicious! This time I had a steak. Delicious with mushroom cream sauce, salad and fried potatoes. Last time I had prawns. Incredibly delicious! This restaurant is a real gem among restaurants! The staff is incredibly friendly.

A great place to grab a bite to eat with the kids after a day of hiking or (as in our case) MondoVerde. The schnitzels are good, and the flammkuchen is also very tasty. There's a small play area for younger children, but that wasn't a problem for us. The service was very friendly, and the food arrived quickly. We paid less than 70 euros for three main courses, four drinks, and two desserts. Excellent value for money!

If you're looking for delicious German food, this restaurant is right in the heart of the Wildlife Park. The Meran schnitzel is highly recommended!

Nicely located restaurant, and that's about it. Frozen food that's almost impossible to eat, as you can get better quality food in any Rewe freezer. The waitress didn't smile once during our visit and didn't seem to particularly enjoy her job. We also asked for a second plate for our twins at the beginning, but of course, it didn't arrive until we asked again. Too bad, we won't be coming back.

Two of us visited the restaurant yesterday. We had made a reservation in advance, and the front desk was well-informed, so we were able to park right next to the restaurant. Despite the warm temperatures, our stay, the service, and the food were truly top-notch! We highly recommend the restaurant and its owner, Jaidie. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, and the waitress took good care of us. We can only give it 5 stars in all respects.

We actually wanted to eat in the restaurant, but we didn't want to go to the wildlife park. At the ticket office, we were told we'd have to pay €6 per person to get in, which was impossible! Because other people just go to the wildlife park after eating, they should block it off or make it clear in the description. That will put a lot of people off, so stupid, I can't understand it!

We wanted to eat there today, but unfortunately, it didn't happen. What we didn't realize was that you have to go through the zoo entrance. They charged us €6 per person if we wanted to go to the restaurant. Of course, we didn't, but instead ate at the Brommler Mühle without paying admission, and it was a good experience. That's how you scare away guests!!!

I've never experienced being charged a €6 entrance fee before visiting a restaurant. It makes me chuckle when I read that the restaurant is known far beyond its borders. Does this question seem like a joke to me? We then ate at the Brommler Mühle, which was free of charge, with friendly service and good food. A reason not to visit either the zoo or the restaurant—that's a real own goal.

Always nice to sit on the terrace and eat well. We like to come for the flamkuchen. Tip: the Parasols could be opened a bit faster in sunny weather, now you have to ask first.

It's wonderful to sit right next to the animals, but that's about it. The service is terrible, as a trained chef and waitress I know what I'm talking about. It's simply not okay to wait forever for drinks and food, and then not even a short sentence comes along to explain the wait. The children's meals are the well-known deep-fried classics, chicken nuggets, schnitzel and fries. If a schnitzel that costs almost €20 doesn't even come out of the pan but out of the deep fryer, then I can't think of anything else. A breading that is far too crispy and floating in fat. You can lose your appetite at times. Another dish with fish then proved that an animal can die twice. How you get a fish so dry is inexplicable to me. The wildlife park itself gets 5 stars but the restaurant is an absolute disgrace and we will never visit it again.

Good food and drinks for not too much money

I would consider the restaurant to be a worse chip shop. It's very noisy, the food is average but expensive. No food at all is served on the outside terrace, even if there isn't a single seat left inside. Dogs are not allowed in, but are at least provided with water outside. The waitress doesn't even need to ask whether the excess amount paid is a tip or even to thank you for it. I have experienced much better restaurants, including in leisure attractions.

A beautiful place to stay and walk along the animal enclosures. The large and well-kept playground invites children to sport, play and have fun.

Generally, the people here are always very friendly, and the snacks during a "normal" visit to the wildlife park are always delicious. We just had dinner here for the first time and we're impressed. One of the tastiest schnitzels in the area. Our long-term assessment is also consistently positive! They are very friendly here, making you feel welcome in a way that is rarely the case these days. The terrace is very cozy in the evenings when the weather is nice, as it's located in the middle of the park and you can enjoy food and drinks there... highly recommended and incomparable to the previous operator. The menu is different in the afternoon and evening. For example, you can also get waffles and cake during your visit to the park during the day, which is very good. We love the wildlife park anyway, so we'll be back for another one!

We have now visited this restaurant several times (which is also designed for day guests of the wildlife park and has an excellent lunch menu for families with children) both with small and large numbers of guests (cozy family evenings and as a wedding party) and are thrilled with the incredibly good service, the above-average warmth of all employees and the outstanding quality of the food. The wedding was prepared to perfection, all the decorations were implemented in detail, so we didn't have to do any work. All of our wishes were implemented in every respect - the collaboration and every visit so far has been a complete success. We would love to come back - at any time of year or day. Even when the restaurant is busy, for example on sunny days, the food is served quickly and with the usual quality.

Very nice little restaurant in the Gangelt Wildlife Park with a large outdoor area right next to the enclosure. Here you get a good selection of warm dishes. From schnitzel to pasta to waffles with cherries, everything is included. But you can also just drink something. The service was always very friendly and polite. We have an annual pass for the park and enjoy visiting here again and again. So far 4x and 4x everything is great 🙂👍🏻 Especially in bad weather it is very comfortable to sit dry here 🥶

It took quite a while, 20 minutes, before we got our drinks. There was enough staff, there was even smoke from the staff.

....sooooo Christmassy.....sooooo delicious.....such contemplative music.....my gymnastics children are so happy about the restaurant vouchers and the wooden wild animal keychains.... 😀 We love you! 😀 And it's always so familiar with you, as the young charismatic falconer is in your restaurant and shares his knowledge about wild animals. 😀

The food was plentiful and tasty. Our table was exactly opposite the entrance area. There was a wedding party in the main dining room who loved to go outside at short intervals and leave the door open. Unfortunately there was no comfort as it was constantly getting cold.

We had a delicious meal during our wildlife park visit. Schnitzel with a large amount of deliciously fried and seasoned fresh mushrooms. Top! Fries and a super fresh salad included. Friendly priced.

Today we had dinner with four friends at Jaidie Kengen and his great team from Restaurant am Wildpark Gangelt Upon arrival at the park, it turned out that a group of 2,000 people were present. We were glad we had reserved a table. We took a walk in advance with the four of us and our 🐕 to have a nice chat. Then we went to our table to be pampered by the friendly, courteous and passionate staff. We had a nice drink and ordered a mushroom cream sauce, a plain one and two Wildpark schnitzels. It was again very extensive with a fresh salad and each a bowl of potato croquettes or fries. It simply tasted wonderful. We had another dessert, two ice creams with warm cherries and whipped cream, an ice cream with caramel sauce and whipped cream and a fresh warm waffle with a scoop of ice cream. We ended with a cappuccino and a cup of coffee. And all this for less than €30 pp. All in all 🐕 friendly. Staff are courteous, friendly and passionate down to the last detail. NOTHING IS TOO MUCH TO ASK FROM THE STAFF The food is good, tasty and for an affordable and fair price WHAT A GREAT TEAM. See you soon

Very nice restaurant located in the wildlife park. We were there for dinner with several people, everyone enjoyed it and there was plenty of it. The service was good and very friendly. The map is well sorted, everyone should find something. However, the vegetarian selection can still be expanded. You have a nice view of the park. We had a lovely evening and would love to come back.

Restaurant located in the wildlife park. After the park closes you can visit the restaurant without an entrance ticket. Very tasty meal. Friendly staff. As a starter we had: tomato soup, garlic soup and fried feta. All recommended. Main courses were: schnitzel with mushrooms and cream sauce, grilled chicken breast with vegetables and the steak with vegetables. These are also beautiful dishes. Unfortunately, there is no room left for dessert after this. Next time we will go for main course and dessert. We will definitely come back here more often

Clean location in the wildlife park area with a nice terrace, friendly and attentive service, fast and well-working kitchen, clean toilets. Good price-performance ratio. The only small drawback: the "braised side vegetables" according to the menu consisted mainly of yellow, red and green peppers. Bad if you can't tolerate peppers... Nevertheless: we'll be back!

Well I have to say it is the best restaurant in all of Gangelt. Splendid. The food was perfect. It was very seasoned and my steak was grilled to perfection. The service was super attentive, nice and very friendly. I'll definitely be back thanks to the wildlife park!!!

Unfortunately very disappointing, this has nothing to do with the preparation of food. Meat dry and tough, the champions looked like they had already been served, everything was totally over-seasoned. The waitress has her thumb in the salad and slams the food on the table, no one noticed that we didn't have any cutlery. Food 5- Service 6 It's a shame it used to be really good.

Located inside the wild park. Good food, decent portion for a snack/ lunch. We ordered currywurst mit pommes and nachos cheese (homemade sauce, quite spicy!) and 3 drinks for 28€ 👍 there are indoor seatings which is very cozy and outdoor (perfect for summer).

I don't want to badmouth this restaurant because the owner and the waitress are really very nice and friendly. I had the mushroom cream schnitzel. The first thing I complain about is the quality of the meat (seems like pressed meat to me) but I think that's normal around here. The second defect was the sauce, I'm sure it's a ready-made sauce because you could spread the sauce on the schnitzel!!!! Here in Swabia the sauces are liquid. The mushrooms and fries were delicious. But what shocked me the most was when the bill came that the mayonnaise was charged extra for the fries. I'm sorry, that's part of it!!! But like I said, people are really trying.

We were at the restaurant for lunch on May 30, 2024. We had pasta with salmon (delicious) and a schnitzel with mushrooms. We liked that the fresh mushrooms were offered separately. Especially considering the reasonable prices, we have nothing to complain about. Nice location just outside, in the middle of the wildlife park.

We celebrated our perfect wedding in the Restaurant am Wildpark. Jaidie and Gül were the perfect innkeepers - they catered to our every wish and made the day unforgettable for us. All of our wishes were fulfilled both in the preparatory arrangements and on the day of the celebration. The food was excellent, our guests spoke to us about it several times and praised us. Even if something wasn't 100% what we wanted at first, it was immediately implemented and improved after a short discussion. We have eaten here a few times before and can only warmly recommend the restaurant. Delicious food at really fair prices, a great ambience and super friendly service staff! For us, definitely one of the best restaurants in the district. Thank you again for the unforgettable day! For further larger celebrations, the Restaurant am Wildpark would definitely be our first choice again!

Unfortunately we couldn't eat there. They cancel a reservation for 12 people 2 days in advance because there is a wedding. This was already indicated when we made our reservation a few weeks ago. So it's all very unreliable. So if you don't want to be faced with any surprises and have to look for something else at the last minute, don't make a reservation there.

Super nice park and good food, but what a terrible owner! I don't often post a review, but only if I am really not satisfied. We had to wait a very long time for our food, everyone who came in after us had already left before we had received our food. Upon inquiry it turned out that something had gone wrong and that is of course possible. But the fact that there was no apology from the owner and it was difficult to remove sauce from the bill, which was only brought after the food was finished, I find very customer unfriendly. She claimed that they had indicated that it could take a long time, but really not to us. Yes, we were moved because of the rain, but with us the entire terrace and we neatly indicated that we had been moved. The waiter (NL boy) remained friendly and apologized, but the boss felt it necessary to respond in a fierce tone. We are very understanding, and have remained friendly all this time, but unfortunately we could not expect the same from their side. Nice restaurant, but don't go there when it's busy because then you're just a number and if they make a mistake they are too proud to admit something or give a 'wait softener'. In any case, they won't see us again. We won't make a difference, but it's a shame to be treated this way, while we go there quite often.

decided to have lunch here while visiting the wildpark gangelt. the restaurant is located right on the grounds of the park which was very convenient. had the wildparkschnitzel(my first one as a visitor from america) the sauce was superb and the meal was very fresh. service was excellent and fast and the setting in the park was very nice. highly recommend visiting

Hello, we celebrated our son's communion in the winter garden. It was great. Service, food, ambience Also the communication with Ms. Gül. During the preparations, Ms. Gül was always available; if not, a call back came immediately. If you had any questions or had to make changes (on our part), Ms. Gül took care of them immediately. Her business partner is always very friendly too. The staff was also very friendly. Praise and comment. We will celebrate our daughter's communion there in 2 years. Many thanks to the whole team. We were guests at a large family celebration in the winter garden. 100% recommendation. When planning the buffet, our wishes were taken into account and good suggestions were made. An all-round successful evening with satisfied guests, delicious food and friendly staff. We would like to come again!

We ordered spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti carbonara. These were really delicious. The portions are reasonably large. Also ordered the garlic soup. This is highly recommended. We also have the Alsatian style tarte flambée and the Greek style tarte flambée. The latter is not recommended. The classic Alsatian was fine. A mishap happened while serving the tarte flambée. The waitress handed the plate to my wife and accidentally let go too early. My wife hadn't yet properly accepted the plate. Accordingly, the plate destroyed two drinks glasses and gave me a good shower. Nothing bad so far. Accidents happen. We got the tarte flambée and a drink replaced because there were splinters of glass everywhere. As we progressed, we also discovered splinters in our child's carbonara and returned them too. If we had ordered this again. We would have to be billed for this twice. Once the one with broken glass and the new one. When we paid, the waiter told us that after consulting the boss, everything had to be paid for. Even one of the newly brought drinks. You wouldn't know whose fault it was. However, the waiter agreed to deduct a drink from the bill. So we had to pay the bill including the carbonara (which our son couldn't eat because it contained splinters). This is an absolute no go. We would have at least expected to have the carbonara replaced without being prosecuted for it. Once and never again.

Seriously one star is too many. The side dishes came 10 minutes before the main meal. 2 schnitzels. Hawaii schnitzel dry without sauce, cheese not even melted. The waitresses were completely overwhelmed. Champion schnitzel with a separate sauce that was hard to predict. The last time for us!!!

Side dishes only come after about 10 minutes, the staff has no understanding and is very rude to customers. The dishes also arrive several minutes apart, so you can't eat together as a family. Horrible prices. Salad crunches and doesn't seem to have been washed properly. Long waiting times.
