Restaurant am Rolandsbogen in Remagen

The food and drinks were good and the view was magnificent. Unfortunately we couldn't enjoy it for long because it was freezing cold in the winter garden. Although there were numerous patio heaters in the winter garden and additionally installed on the ceilings, guests were not willing to turn them on and justified this with heating costs. Nothing changed after guests at almost every table asked for the patio heaters to be turned on and even though the winter garden was initially more visited because of the view than the interior without a view. However, we and other guests were ultimately forced to move indoors due to the freezing cold. For a restaurant in this price category that advertises the view, I think this service is very customer-unfriendly.

We were there with 6 people for my father's 70th birthday. I thought it was a shame that no one took note of this birthday. Neither in the form of congratulations nor anything else. I specified this when making the reservation. Then I have to say that I expect certain things in such a high-priced restaurant. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but then I can eat out at a normal-priced restaurant. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive at all times. However, I don't like that the aperitif only comes after the starter has been served, and I also expect it to always be served from the right. I also don't think it's appropriate for the staff to wear fleece jackets in such an atmosphere. I think you can expect something different. The food was very mixed. Some things were very good, such as the dessert and the piece of meat, as well as the fish. Unfortunately there is an addendum the next morning: 4 out of 6 people had to deal with nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and stomach pain during the night.

Das Essen war einfach fantastisch und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis war absolut stimmig. Der Service war super aufmerksam und das Ambiente mit Blick auf den Rhein ist einfach überwältigend.

Magnificent wedding celebration in beautiful surroundings. Restaurant service perfect for 50 of us - everything at the same time, hot, cooked to the (right) point, drinks at exact temperatures and served quickly. And you can hardly beat the view of the Rhine and the Siebengebirge and the Cologne-Bonn Bay...

Schnitzel war fertig und zäh. Nachspeise war nicht richtig gar. Espresso war nicht gut.

Erst einmal ist das Restaurant am Rolandsbogen mit seiner herrlichen Rheinaussicht sehr gut gelegen. Das Essen und der Service waren wirklich top und es war schon etwas Besonderes dort zu essen. Auf der Speisekarte gab es wirklich Speisen, die nicht in jedem Restaurant im Angebot sind und auch die Qualität sowie auch die Quantität waren super. Der Service war auch sehr gut, wir wurden in angenehmen Pausen gefragt nach unserer Zufriedenheit und unseren Wünschen. Alles in allem als gehobene Gastronomie zu empfehlen. Im Außenbereich Wintergarten waren wir nun nicht.

It is a beautiful spot above the Rhine and opposite the Siebengebirge. We ate cake and drank coffee. The service is very courteous and extremely nice. We felt very comfortable with the excellent view

The food is always absolutely amazing! Today there was even a dog bed next to the table for our two small dogs. I don't know that from any restaurant! Now you can't beat it :-) Thanks to the great service staff ❤️

Unfortunately, in warm weather, my in-laws, both in their 80s, asked for water after a short hike and were completely ignored by the staff. Admittedly, there was a closed society there, but the simple question about some water was usually not really difficult to answer, no?!

Ein wirklich in jeder Hinsicht hervorragendes Restaurant mit einer der schönsten Aussichten vor allem im Außenbereich. Ein Problem ist allerdings die Parkmöglichkeit vor Ort. Wer engste Wendemanöver nicht mag sollte vor der steilen Abfahrt oberhalb am Wegesrand parken.

Es ist teuer, aber auch wirklich gutes Essen und eine tolle Location.

Das Restaurant liegt in einer wundervollen Lage mitblick auf den Rhein, sehr romantisch. Es war nicht zu laut und der Tisch hatte eine atemberaubende Aussicht gehabt. Das Personal super freundlich und höflich, der Service ging sehr schnell und das Essen war qualitativ sehr hochwertig und lecker. Alles in einem waren wir sehr begeistert und kommen gerne wieder.

Wir sind Fans des Restaurants und gehen immer wieder gerne hin. Wir übertreiben die Besuche nicht und machen es jedes Mal zu etwas ganz Besonderem. Bis auf das Problem, einen Parkplatz zu erhaschen (kicher), ist es mehr als ein Essen, für uns ist es ein Mini-Kurz-Urlaubs-Trip. Die Besuche planen wir gerne bei persönlichen Anlässen wie Geburtstage, Jahrestage oder besonderen Gästen aus dem Ausland, denen regelmäßig die Kinnlade herunterfällt, wenn wir oben ankommen. Allein dieser Anblick ist es wert ;)

We celebrated our wedding at Rolandsbogen on July 12, 2024. It's really a great restaurant! The service was very attentive, friendly and responded to all requests. The taste and quality of the food is unbeatable. But don't forget the great view! Thanks again to Ms. Strack, who organized the wedding so well! We would celebrate here again and again for big occasions!

Tolles Restaurant mit grandioser Aussicht. Dazu wirklich sehr schmackhaftes und phantasievolles Essen. Ein Stern Abzug gegben, da die Nudelgericht preislich zu teuer waren. Rest passt preislich. Alle anderen Preise sind im Vergleich zur Qualität und Geschmack absolut stimmig gewesen. Sehr guter Service alle sehr freundlich, aufmerksam und nett.

Unfortunately I can't understand the reviews about the food. The view is of course fantastic. The restaurant itself is also very nice, but I actually have to criticize the food. It was very oversalted and significantly overpriced for the quantity and quality. I've eaten a lot of steaks that were significantly better. Unfortunately I'm extremely disappointed and the evening actually ended at McDonald's. This is not what we imagined after spending 100 euros for the meal. I think it's better to just drink a glass of wine there and drive again. A pity

The view and surroundings are absolutely unbeatable, you simply can't get enough of this beautiful backdrop. However, the food was disappointing. Given the prices, I expect a top meal, but that was only the case for one dish. I had the sauerbraten and was unfortunately disappointed by a very dry and tasteless sauerbraten. Unfortunately, the sauce, which is far too sweet, cannot hide this fact. The plate was literally drowned in the sauce. The consistency of the sauce was very reminiscent of ready-made sauce from the bag and unfortunately it tasted the same. Only the red cabbage was great in this dish. Unfortunately, the same applies to Tafelspitz. It was served with far too many nuts and the way it was presented was unfortunately very ugly and old-fashioned (see photo). It could have been a little less of everything but more flavorful. However, the tagliarini with beef fillet tips were very tasty. Just a small point of criticism here, some pieces of the meat were very tough, but overall very good. Conclusion: I don't think it's value for money despite the beautiful view. I think it's overpriced for the quality. In addition, when I booked online, I specifically asked for a seat with a nice view, but unfortunately this was not taken into account. A disappointing first and last visit to this restaurant.

Ausblick und Umgebung sind absolut unschlagbar, man kann sich einfach nicht satt gucken an dieser wunderschönen Kulisse. Das Essen hat allerdings enttäuscht. Bei den Preisen erwarte ich ein top Essen, das war allerdings bei uns nur bei einem Gericht der Fall. Ich hatte den Sauerbraten und wurde leider durch einen sehr trockenen und geschmacklosen Sauerbraten enttäuscht. Die viel zu süße Soße kann darüber leider auch nicht hinwegtäuschen. Der Teller wurde förmlich von der Soße ertränkt. Konsistenz der Soße hat sehr stark an Fertigsoße aus der Tüte erinnert und hat leider auch so geschmeckt. Lediglich der Rotkohl war super an diesem Gericht. Das gleiche gilt leider für den Tafelspitz. Der wurde mit viel zu vielen Nüssen serviert und die Art und Weise der Anrichtung war leider sehr unschön und altbacken. Von Allem hätte es etwas weniger dafür geschmacksintensiver sein können. Die Tagliarini mit Rinderfiletspitzen waren allerdings sehr lecker. Hier nur ein kleiner Kritikpunkt, manche Stücke des Fleischs waren sehr zäh, aber insgesamt sehr gut. Fazit: Preis-Leistung finde ich trotz der wunderschönen Aussicht nicht gegeben. Ich finde es für die Qualität überteuert. Darüberhinaus hatte ich bei der Online Buchung extra um einen Sitzplatz mit schöner Aussicht gebeten, leider wurde darauf nicht Rücksicht genommen. Ein enttäuschender, erster und letzter Besuch in diesem Restaurant.

We had a birthday dinner reservation on 14.7 Sunday for 2 person. I called extra to make sure the reservation. Under name Gaida Conformed! When we arrived there the waiter offered us somewhere in winter garden big Table where 6-8 people seats Very laud they didn’t reserved any table at all. The worst is the food. We went often to this restaurant was perfect and It was one of our favourite place. The plan was, to have nice dinner, bottle of wine and celebrate birthday. We complain a lot and we decide to leave as quickly as possible. Finally when we order the bill, the waiter has bad conscience I believe. He brings some birthday wish sweet nice decorated. We are thankful for that. But all in all the birthday diner is screwed up. Very sad.

A really great restaurant. We probably ate our best Wiener Schnitzel. The sauerbraten was also great. Courteous staff rounded things off. The place isn't cheap, but the food and view are worth it.

The restaurant is worth a visit at any time of the year, on the terrace in summer and indoors in winter. Great ambience and beautiful view over the Rhine. Parking situation is sometimes a bit difficult.

Die Aussicht von dort oben mit Blick auf das Siebengebirge und die Rheininseln Nonnenwerth und Grafenwerth ist einfach wunderbar. Das Essen ist sehr gut, aber recht teuer. Der Service ist freundlich. Aber: Obwohl das Restaurant weniger als halb besetzt war, haben wir beinahe 1 Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet. Das ist - auch wenn der Kellner uns um Verständnis und Geduld bat, weil eine Kraft in der Küche kurzfristig ausgefallen sei - doch arg lang. Wie lange hätten wir bei vollbesetztem Restaurant warten müssen?

As a booked DJ for a wedding in summer 2024, I can only praise the location and the team! The service was top! The technical equipment is ideal for a wedding. Always happy to be part of a successful celebration!

Breathtaking view over the Rhine Valley to the Siebengebirge with Drachenfels & Drachenburg as well as the islands of Nonnenwerth & Grafenwerth. Very attentive, non-intrusive service. The quality of the food was above average. Price-performance ratio: good, because here you get something for your money, priceless with the kindest people and the right atmosphere! Our dog was just as welcome as we were. That impressed us very much! See you soon....

Alles bestens: Service, Essen und Ambiente. Wunderbare Aussicht. Freundliche und sehr kompetente Bedienung. Top. Professioneller und wissender Umgang mit glutenfreier Zubreitung der Speisen. Glutenfreies Brot. Man kann sich sicher in guten Händen fühlen. Einziger Nachteil: Die Anfahrtsbeschreibung ist zu ungenau, Schilder sind zugewachsen und Parkmöglichkeiten sind zu wenig.

Fantastic ambience above the Rhine Valley with wonderful views in good weather. Seating directly outside on the terrace or in the light-flooded interior (sliding glass walls). Given the ambience and the friendliness of the service, 5 stars are exactly right. Less optimal are the incomprehensible prices of drinks that are not shown on any of the cards. One or two drinks on offer are credited well for the billing. And be careful, you don't automatically receive a regular invoice, just an information invoice, whatever that is, not suitable for tax billing for customer appointments.

Bei toller Aussicht mit freundlichem Personal war die Brunnenkresse Suppe leider total versalzen. Das Fleisch beim Sauerbraten war nicht eingelegt, sondern identisch mit dem Tafelspitz nur mit anderer Sauce, den man auch als Carpaccio im Angebot hatte. Der Sauerbraten schmeckte nicht schlecht, aber sowas ist halt kein Sauerbraten. Eine Wein als Nachbestellung wurde schlicht vergessen. Nachtisch war soweit ganz gut, aber die Marillenknödel hätten innen richtig erwärmt, noch besser geschmeckt. Lage ist nicht alles, wenn man auf dem Preisniveau mitspielen will.

We celebrated our daughter's confirmation there. Everything was as discussed, wonderfully decorated and the food was excellent. We had an unforgettable day thanks to the great service and the panorama. The only drawback, if you will, is the limited number of parking spaces available.

Very nice views and ambience reward the exertions of the climb. Arrived quickly and everyone at the top, we were asked if we had reserved. My heart almost stopped. We said no and were then told that there were only two seats left in the restaurant. We then sat alone in the restaurant. Food OK, very expensive. The only drawback: very steep, difficult, completely washed out, greasy footpath. Not suitable for poor runners or disabled people, not barrier-free. Unfortunately, the signage is very poor for those unfamiliar with the area. The waiter kindly ordered a taxi for us downstairs, as the second way wasn't any better.

Wir hatten bei schönstem Pfingstwetter einen tollen Platz auf der Terrasse - wie bei der Reservierung über Opentable angefragt. Die Aussicht ist sensationell. Das Essen hat unsere Erwartungen deutlich übertroffen, die Preise halte ich für angemessen. Der Service war sehr aufmerksam und hat sich erfolgreich um uns bemüht. Ich möchte jedem den Besuch des Restaurants am Rolandsbogen empfehlen. Besonders sinnvoll bei gutem Wetter, nicht zu spät kommen, sonst liegt die Terrasse im Schatten.

Very nice view of the Rhine. Getting there by car is difficult when there is oncoming traffic. The restaurant itself is large with large round tables. Staff is attentive and friendly. The 4th course menu is served with great attention to detail. A higher price category should be considered for the food and drinks. Conclusion: It's worth it, it's worth a visit.

Es war ein so toller Abend. Wir wurden sehr nett empfangen und an den reservierten Tisch gebracht. Das Personal, besonders der Kellner, waren sehr aufmerksam und erfüllte alle Wünsche. Wir haben uns für das Menü entschieden. Vom ersten bis zum letzten Gang war es eine Geschmacksexplosion!! Alles super abgeschmeckt! Ein Hoch der Küche!!! Wir werden auf jeden Fall wiederkommen!!

Definitely worth a visit! Great restaurant, the location invites you to dream. The service was friendly and the drinks arrived quickly. So the afternoon could be enjoyed. There was little parking on site, which was a bit of a surprise. But the area could be examined on a short walk.

Abgesehen von der abenteuerlichen Zufahrt haben wir sehr gut gegessen.

Der Klassiker des Hauses, ein Sauerbraten nach rheinischer Art, war hervorragend. Auch Vor- und Nachspeise waren äußerst gelungen. Das Lokal ist rundum empfehlenswert. Die Lage des Restaurants macht den Besuch zu einem zusätzlichen Erlebnis, der Blick ins Rheintal ist einfach wunderbar.

We are a small family and we have “loved” the restaurant over the last year. We were there around Christmas and ate inside by the fireplace, festive and sumptuous. Now recently again with friends and family - just a little something with a great view. Whether in a small group or with children and after hiking, we were always warmly welcomed. The staff is very friendly! Given the location, there could(!) just be tarte flambée and waffles, or pizza and fries...but no, the food is really tasty and creative!! We were also happy about a particularly tasty and beautifully decorated non-alcoholic aperitif. We often combine a visit with an excursion, then park at the hiking car park (there are a few) and walk a bit beforehand - that's perfect relaxation for us! It almost sounds like an advertisement, but we are simply thrilled and happy to share it! :-)

Eigentlich sind wir keine Mittagesser, aber wir haben eine Wanderung unterbrochen um ein Mittagessen hier auszuprobieren. Das Ambiente ist gefällig. Man kann auf der großen überdachten Terrasse oder im Kaminzimmer sitzen. Von hier aus hat man einen Blick auf das Siebengebirge. Die Speisekarte ist überschaubar. Wir hatten Tafelspitz und Sauerbraten nach Ortsart bestellt. Die Speisen wurden heiß serviert und es schmeckte vorzüglich. Am Nachbartisch wurde Kaiserschmarren serviert. Das sah auch gut aus und der Gast lobte auch die Küche. Ein Besuch lohnt sich. Die Bedienung war höflich und nett. Allerdings konnte ich erkennen, daß es für Rollis und Gehbehinderte nicht geeignet ist, da mehrere Stufen zu überwinden sind. Aber besser mal anfragen, vielleicht habe ich etwas übersehen. Mit dem Auto kann man bis unterhalb des Restaurants anfahren. Platz für geschätzt 15 PKW

Wir haben mit 3 Stunden Vorlauf am Sonntagabend gebucht. Es war recht ruhig, die Bedienung war unaufdringlich, aber stets erreichbar. Das Candlelight Dinner hat uns sowohl mit Zander, als auch mit Rinderfilet ausgezeichnet geschmeckt. Dies war mein zweiter Abendbesuch und es war wieder stimmungsvoll, den abendlichen Ausblick auf den Petersberg, den Drachenfels und Bad Honnef am gegenüber liegenden Ufer zu haben. Wir kommen gerne wieder. AR.

Das Restaurant am Rolandsbogen ist absolut empfehlenswert.Es ist so gemütlich dort.Das Essen ist total lecker.Ich hatte Ochsenbäckchen .Das Fleisch war butterweich.Das Personal ist spitze absolut freundlich und herzlich..... Der Ausblick auf das Siebengebirge ist etwas ganz besonderes. Ich komme auf jeden Fall wieder. Ein dickes Lob nochmal an das Serviceteam.Vielen Dank.

We were in the restaurant in the afternoon just before New Year's Eve. We were warmly welcomed and the food and service were consistently convincing from A to Z. The atmosphere was professional, not intrusive and also authentically warm. What stood out was an open wine that met the desired criteria to the letter and was therefore convincing. In my opinion, the price-performance ratio is all good. I remembered it well when I was there in 2017, it was now convincing at the end of 2023 and I will book again in the spring when the weather is better. Keep it up…

Leider saßen wir an dem runden Tisch am Eingang zur Küche, akzeptabel, aber nicht ganz ungestört. Wir hätten uns woanders hinsetzen können, weil noch viel frei war. Aber wir wollten nebeneinander sitzen, also alles gut.

Very good restaurant with very friendly staff and a view to kneel down! Very good wine and food! The staff is extremely friendly. The view is amazing! Very clean and well maintained, the facility is a bit difficult to reach on foot and should only be approached if you are in good physical condition. Otherwise you can drive to the door by car. Full recommendation and I would love to come back!

This restaurant has a beautiful view of the Rhine River and historical ruins. We parked the car on the side of the road, climbed the mountain for a while, stopped at the restaurant to enjoy the view, and drank coffee and ice cream. Perfect experience. Next time you pass by, you must go up and experience it, it is very worth it.

We were there today for a crime dinner. The location and the view are impressive. The ambience inside is high-quality and invites you to linger. The welcome was warm and there was nothing to complain about in terms of service. The waiters and waitresses were extremely attentive, allowing us to enjoy a relaxed evening in a lovely atmosphere. The food was very tasty and you could tell that the kitchen also attaches importance to the little things. In our opinion the price is more than justified. We'd love to come back.

Tolles Ambiente! Das war leider aber auch das einzige, was in Ordnung war. Der Service war unmöglich, so dass wir vorgezogen haben, dass Lokal noch vor dem Essen zu verlassen. Nie wieder! Schade!

Schön gelegenes Restaurant mit toller Aussicht. Der reservierte Platz war sofort verfügbar. Der Kellner war sehr geschäftig, weil das Restaurant sehr voll war, konnte sich aber ausreichend um die Bestellung bei uns kümmern, sehr professionell. Getränke und Vorspeise kamen relativ schnell, mussten aber dann bis zu 60 Min auf den Hauptgang warten. Das wäre noch ok gewesen, wenn nicht eine Kellnerin vorbeigekommen wäre, die schon anfing abzuräumen, obwohl eine Person noch am essen war und die anderen beiden gerade erst fertig waren. Gläser wurden auch eingesammelt und wir mussten unsere noch mit Getränken gefüllten Gläser „retten“, bevor diese auch noch eingesammelt wurden. Dies hat einen dermaßen schlechten Eindruck hinterlassen, dass wir auf Kaffee und Kuchen verzichtet haben und nur noch gehen wollten. Wir waren schon öfter hier zu Besuch, hatten aber bei diesen Gelegenheiten einen besseren Eindruck gehabt.

Sehr gutes Essen, perfekter Service und ein herrlicher Ausblick.

Great location with a nice view of the river valley. Service was very attentive. The food was ok. Interesting flavors for the truffle soup but very salty. The traditional meat dishes were ok, but I was expecting it to be tastier. The deserts we've tried were too sweet and rather plain.

Lage, Lage, Lage, Aussicht, freundlicher Service, aufgrund der begrenzten Fläche nur bedingt als Ausflugslokal empfohlen, da ohne Reservierung schnell überlaufen, Anfahrt über Rodderberg oder zu Fuß von unten Rolandseck

Einmalige Lage und Aussicht mit sehr freundlichem Personal und hervorragendem Essen. Das bleibt unvergessen!

Perfektes essen, hervorragender Service. Mehr gibt es einfach nicht zu sagen.
