Restaurant "Am Finkenherd" in Goslar

The food here in the house is normal, as you would expect in a restaurant like this. You don't need to expect a wow effect or an extraordinary culinary delight. The side dishes are mostly frozen goods and the chef also has problems determining the doneness of the steaks. The menu hasn't changed in what feels like 10 years. It would be nice to add a little variety here. The service staff is a completely different “house number”!!! Here the order is taken while chewing gum and smacking our lips. In the case of larger orders, the staff is also overwhelmed to accommodate them. There's no prize to be won with the sad salad bar either. Overall, there is still a lot of room for improvement. Reading all the 5 star reviews makes me feel like I went to the wrong restaurant.

Excellent meal, me and my wife had a rib eye steak. I can only say it was excellent, the meat was first class, it's rare to get such good meat. The staff very attentive and friendly. I'm looking forward to being there again soon.

The reservation worked wonderfully. We had to spontaneously postpone it by another 30 minutes. That wasn't a problem 🙏🏽. The welcome was very warm. The guest room was very comfortable. We learned that the guest room was once a cowshed. The drink requests were taken into account. It didn't take long for us to get the drinks. Then came the meal. The schnitzels were tasty and tender. The potato rosti gratinated with tomatoes, spinach and feta were very tasty. That wasn't our last visit. Thank you very much for the great and friendly service 🤩.

Were there yesterday. For a steakhouse, 1 steak to choose from is definitely not enough! The roast beef was too well done and there are 14 XXL schnitzels on the menu! Competition for the Schnitzel King? This means the chef is out of practice; he has always done a great job so far!

Were there on the weekend. Different cook but everything perfect. Food great and service optimal. The chef even came to the table and asked if everything was OK. Thank you for the lovely evening

We were invited for our 60th birthday and were here for the first time. Food was very tasty and also cheap. Service was very friendly and also attentive. The atmosphere was very rustic. We'd love to come back again.

My schnitzel tasted very good. The fries were great, really crispy. I was missing a small salad decoration on the plate. The interior is cozy. In my opinion, it looked a little messy outside. Overall, a nice evening with very nice service, we'll be back.

We wanted to stay there for dinner on Saturday at 7.30 p.m. when the waitress came out and said in a friendly manner - the kitchen is now closed and we want to watch the football game. Germany didn't play until 9 p.m. ??? We weren't even offered a drink! I do not recommend this location

Went here for lunch today. This was my first time in this restaurant. I ordered a schnitzel gratinated with tomatoes and feta. It was very delicious and a lot. Jägerschnitzel and schnitzel gratinated with paprika were also ordered. These were also excellent. So I can only recommend this restaurant And I will come here more often now. Even our dog was greeted nicely and asked if you could bring a water bowl.

We were guests today. It was very good food. The staff was very nice and accommodating and also child-friendly. We haven't been there for a while and we are very pleased that such good cuisine continues to be offered. We will come back in any case!

We ended up there by chance. My husband had an XXL schnitzel, schnitzel dry, fries dry and bland. My husband was offered to bring him a new schnitzel. I had ordered asparagus with a steak (Angus) medium but it was done. Parsley, potatoes, parsley was missing, but my food tasted quite good for 37.50 euros, which was too expensive. We'll drive by next time... The facility was a bit dusty. We didn't visit the toilets.

So the food is good and there is a lot but the side dish...vegetables or a small salad is missing. Wooden tables and benches need to be renewed or reworked. The side salad costs extra.

A lunch table (3 people) was reserved for Boxing Day in time for Christmas. A few days later, the restaurant subsequently requested a deposit of €20 per person over the phone with a payment deadline. Even asking for a deposit in a restaurant to reserve a table came as a surprise and seemed very strange to me. But be that as it may, it was Christmas and we were happy to be able to reserve a place in a restaurant where we had eaten very often and well. In the past I had reserved the fireplace room several times for my club's annual general meetings and everything was always great. Nothing was spared at the meetings and this was of course also reflected in the amount of the bill. We visited the restaurant in a good mood and looking forward to the Christmas meal. The table was assigned to us and we were amazed afterwards. All tables were set except ours. The table was literally squeezed into a corner of the coat rack there, which was full of jackets. One or two guests across our table took their jacket from the coat rack to go outside. Confused, we sat down and rocked on a bench in front of us. The table top could be lifted without any problems because it was loose on the frame. As we drank the drink we ordered, it became clear that we weren't staying here. The table was not just an imposition, but a complete impudence. After it was not possible to allocate another table, the friendly waitress explained in a matter-of-fact tone that we were leaving the location and expected the deposit to be refunded. We received the deposit back without any problems after deducting the drinks bill and left. Luckily, we surprisingly found a table in an Italian restaurant in Bad Harzburg. Christmas dinner was saved. The one star rating is still flattering and refers exclusively to the experience on Boxing Day 2023. The owner was contacted about this matter before publication. Unfortunately there was no reaction.

Went there today for Christmas dinner with 10 people. There was a menu with 7 dishes that were very expensive in terms of price. After 1 1/2 hours of waiting, the food arrived. The fish (€36.50) was a very small portion. More like one Starter. The goose breast (36.50 €) was absolutely tasteless and the sauce and the red cabbage tasted like nothing. The vegetarian meal (22.50 €) consisted of a small dumpling and a bit of mushroom sauce. The steak (38.50 €) was also very small. For this price not appropriate. The service was friendly but not really focused on the guests. No questions asked if anything else was wanted. The lock in the women's toilet had broken out so that only two people could go to guard the door. The men's toilet was dirty. Conclusion: too expensive, not tasty, not filling It's a shame because the food there is really rich and tasty. Never again for Christmas

Totally unfriendly service. Wanted a salad to take home for Christmas. The first service was friendly, but then two women who work there intervened. People are polite, as they always are - so I expect to be served in a friendly manner. Instead, I'm looked at up and down, looked at like a car and am told in the most unfriendly tone possible, "Nah!" And “look what’s going on here.” Couldn't that have been expressed a little more politely? I would have been the last person to show no understanding if someone politely explained to me that it wasn't possible. We then asked at another restaurant and also got a salad. To be fair, I have to say that the food is very tasty. However, it was the last time I was there.

The food was great. The service was very friendly. It was a nice evening. We will definitely come back.

Perfektes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis!!! Sehr lecker und große Portionen. Sehr aufmerksame und nette Bedienung. Wir kommen wieder!

Ein unheimlich gemütliches Restaurant mit sehr nettem Personal und das Essen war auch sehr gut. Im Sommer kann man toll draußen sitzen.

Wir kannten das Restaurant von früheren Besuchen und hatten entsprechend hohe Erwartungen. Diesmal wurden wir enttäuscht. Das Essen war geschmacklich überwiegend gut, jedoch waren auf einem Teller die Bratkartoffeln kalt, auf einem andere Teller die Champignonsoße. Beides wurde nach gewärmt und entsprechend verlängerte sich die Wartezeit von zwei Mitgliedern unserer Gruppe. Das Salatbuffet war reichhaltig, aber vom Aufbau her paradox. Kartenzahlung war nicht möglich und ganz unmöglich fanden wir, dass niemand vom Küchenpersonal in der Küche eine Kopfbedeckung trug (eine Show-Küche ist nun mal großflächig einsehbar). Schade, aber den langen Weg dorthin werden wir uns künftig sparen. Allein die schöne Lage und das tolle Ambiente des Restaurants genügen nicht.

Eine urige Gastwirtschaft die zum verweilen einlädt. Wir hatten 4 XXL Schnitzel in verschiedenen Zubereitungen. Alle waren super gebraten und zart. Die Bratkartoffeln waren genau richtig, kross aber nicht fettig. Einziger,kleiner Kritikpunkt, die Kroketten waren wohl TK. Die Bedienungen sind freundlich und haben zeitnah Getränke und Speisen aufgenommen. Keiner von uns hat die XXL Schnitzel aufgegessen, es wurden dafür Verpackung zur Verfügung gestellt, gut. Da muss man schon ein sehr guter Esser sein. Rundherum ein gelungener Abend.

Vorweg: Super Bedienung, super Ambiente..Preis unschlagbar Nicht so gut : Schnitzel vorgebraten und nur noch aufgewärmt. Meins war lauig bis kalt. Bratkartoffeln ebenfalls nur aufgewärmt. Schade das es Masse vor klasse war.

Waren mit der ganzen Familie dort Essen leider gefiel uns es nicht. Steak nicht medium obwohl bestellt die Bratkartoffeln waren eine einzige Pampe wurde auf die Kartoffelsorte geschoben Tomatensuppe sehr salzig. Schnitzel und Soße waren gut. Die Bedienung versuchte mit einem capuchino aufs Haus noch was zu retten.Wer sich Steak House nennt muss besser abliefern auch bei den Preisen. Toiletten waren leider auch nicht sauber. Wir waren sehr entäuscht wo kommen bloß die guten Bewertungen her???

Das Restaurant Finkenherd ist unser absolutes Lieblingsrestaurant in der Nähe. Wir haben einige Restaurants mit deutscher Küche ausprobiert und Preis-Leistungstechnisch ist Der Finkenherd die absolute Erste Wahl. Das Essen ist ausreichend groß, das XXL Schnitzel ist sehr zu empfehlen (kann auch in normaler Variante genommen werden). Die Bedienungen sind immer freundlich. Es gibt sowohl innen als auch außen genügend Plätze, am Wochenende zur Abendzeitung sollte man trotzdem reservieren. Hunde sind willkommen und für Kinder gibt es einen kleinen Spielplatz. Für größere Feiern gibt es einen extra Saal.

Sehr nette, sympathische Bedienung. Wir hatten vorher extra einen Tisch bestellt, trotzdem war genug frei. Die Cocktails waren ganz ok, dass Essen wie immer sehr sehr gut! Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Übrigens der "Gruss aus der Küche" war eine super Überraschung!🤗

Gestern Abend bei Sonnenschein bis zum Sonnenuntergang draußen gesessen und das saftige Roastbeef genossen. Portionen sind großzügig mit Fleisch und Beilagen, Preis Leistung stimmt.. wir kommen gern wieder!

Das Essen war einfach nur Klasse. Spargel mit Schnitzel und Petersilie-Kartoffeln. Lecker wie zu Hause. Wer noch hier nicht war der ist selber schuld.
