Restaurant Alvis in Berlin

We went for a special occasion, it was empty when we arrived and with a nice music in the background. Our waitress was friendly and attentive to our needs the whole time. I felt a bit watched 😅, but I take it nicely. Food was delicious and the atmosphere was pleasant. We recommend it! 😉

We went there on Valentine’s Day, having booked a special offer in advance. Our reservation was for 6 PM, but the staff informed us that the special menu would only be available from 7 PM, which we hadn’t been told beforehand. As a result, we had to wait for an hour. However, the food was delicious, and both the waiter and waitress were very friendly.

I was there for the brunch buffet and it was a bit full that day, we were a birthday party of almost 15 people and the service staff were all very nice but unfortunately they were completely overwhelmed and we hardly got a chance to order anything to drink and other orders such as a fried egg were completely forgotten, which is a shame. The food was okay, but unfortunately nothing extraordinary and the warm dishes were unfortunately not appealing to me as a vegetarian. The sweet buffet was okay, but unfortunately we missed something like jam or honey. And be careful, coffee was only available from a 0815 machine like in a hotel or filter coffee to order. The ambience was clean and simple and the buffet was beautifully displayed, but the space was relatively too small for a brunch buffet.

Friendly staff, excellent food. Not as coolly hyper-modern as some others, which I really appreciate. You can enjoy your meals in a pleasant atmosphere. I felt very comfortable. I have already recommended it to others in Vienna. 5 stars are actually not enough, deserve more!

We had to wait over 30 minutes until we got the card when we asked. Despite asking, they didn't bring us the "Business Lunch" card and denied its existence. Two positive stars because the food was tasty. The Wiener Schnitzel was quite small for >30 EUR.

The lunch menu is excellent and surprisingly affordable, several soups and a main course of the best quality. A real gem 💎 right in the middle.

Excellent food and excellent service at ALvis! Today I had the pleasure of experiencing a true culinary highlight in the ALvis restaurant. From start to finish the service was exceptional - attentive, friendly and professional without being intrusive. The team really did everything they could to make the evening perfect. The cauliflower soup with smoked duck breast slices was a wonderful start: creamy, delicately spiced and, with the slightly smoky note of the duck, a real taste experience. The thyme-crusted lamb loin fillet was perfectly cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and harmonized perfectly with the aromatic ratatouille and the delicious fried La Ratte potatoes. The crowning finale was the powdered quark balls with cream ice cream - airy, light and simply irresistible! A big compliment to the entire team – both for the outstanding cuisine and the first-class service. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

Nice buffet and great service. The only downside is that there is hardly any choice for vegetarians/vegans.

If you eat meat then you will probably get a good feed here. Vegetarians will manage somehow and focus on desserts. Vegans should rather visit the Indian restaurant up the road or be happy with green tea, fruit and couscous. Atmosphere was good. The chatter level was a little noisy. Hard to converse with people at the same table. Service very good almost hotel-like. More formal than casual dress. All in all a great place to take the in laws or friends for a special occasion.

Good level of food and service, although I have been given rather small portion of my food, when I raised this with the waiter showing other people got bigger steak, she just commented that some people get smaller and some get bigger portions. Which was irrational.

I can actually only say one thing about breakfast, but it comes from the deepest conviction and after thorough "investigation": The buffet is fantastic! It's really rich, varied, beautifully presented and absolutely fresh. If you leave the house hungry, it's your own fault!

I regularly eat lunch there. Every working day you can choose between two dishes (one of which is vegetarian), plus one of three soups offered as a starter. Very good value for money (currently 12.50 euros) and very nice and service-oriented staff. You can tell that the employees feel comfortable there. The atmosphere is calm and pleasant. Yesterday I was there with a friend. We were greeted and served very warmly and professionally by the employee with Vietnamese roots. Unfortunately, such good service is rare in Berlin. As always, the food tasted very good. 👏 PS: In summer you can also dine in the cozy courtyard.

The waiter deleted the order and after 40 minutes communicated that we wanted to go to the theater and then had to leave hungry. Whether it was accidental or intentional. I can't judge who was LGBTQ. The apology was purely formal.

Lunch menu €12.50, a soup and a main course. I have been eating in this restaurant for two days of my stay in Berlin, the review would be very good on the first day, but on the second we took a spoonful of soup to try and as we suspected it was very spicy and we didn't eat it. The surprise was that when we paid, they charged us. Very ugly detail on the part of the waiters.

We were looking for a suitable location for a family celebration. We found her in Martas Restaurant Alvis in the center of Berlin. We have already visited the restaurant a few times and have always been impressed by the cuisine and service. Our preliminary discussions and agreements with Mr. Arnold, the head of the events department, demonstrated professionalism and consideration of our ideas and wishes. The house sees its most important task as paying attention to the guest and offering good service. The evening was something very special for us and our guests, spoiled by Mr. Bodo Zühlsdorf and his wonderful employee. After a reception at the hotel bar, we celebrated in the garden café at a very well laid out table in a pleasant atmosphere. The quality of the dishes from a modern regional cuisine - we chose a three-course menu with meat or fish as the main course - was excellent and left nothing to be desired. Even small extra requests. The accompanying drinks were always a very good recommendation. The Alvis is a place where you are not only spoiled with culinary delights but can also enjoy first-class service - a great restaurant with great employees, so a very good address if you are looking for a good restaurant in Berlin. We can highly recommend Alvis. Many thanks to the entire team for this wonderful evening!

I ate there with a group. Buffet, separate room - really cozy. Always happy again. The garden in the yard is a dream!

Right in the middle of Berlin Mitte, but like a little oasis. Delicious food and very nice atmosphere. The service was very friendly, it was a lovely time and a great end to our short trip for us.

You wouldn't expect such high quality food in this tourist hotspot. We had dinner there today with colleagues. The veal schnitzel was excellent, and the rack of lamb with beans was also very good. Absolutely attentive waiters. The greeting from the kitchen beforehand was also very tasty. We sat in the courtyard and it was pleasantly quiet.

La atención fue bastante regular, las chicas parecían más contarse sus cosas que atendiendo a las necesidades, tuve que llamarlas varias veces. Excellent food, asparagus, lamb, schnitzel. We were there as a group and everyone was enthusiastic about the food. Unfortunately, the service left a lot to be desired: not attentive, incorrect order written down, no request for additional drinks. Therefore only 4 out of 5 stars today.

This hotel has a restaurant with a great location that is within walking distance to some of Berlin's most notable attractions. They have a parking garage and breakfast options can be purchased. The rooms are clean and cozy. Multiple restaurants are along the nearest intersection and the Bahnhof is right across the river.

Das Fischgericht wies wenig Eigengeschmack auf, die Cremesuppe war etwas teigig, das Reh trocken und der gesamte Fleischgang nur lauwarm (wir waren halt angekündigt später dran...), das Dessert - abgesehen vom Cassis-Eis - in Norddeutschland würde man sagen „dröge“.

Was für ein schönes kulnarisches Einod verbunden mit einem 1A-Service abseits der Touri-Hotspots und doch mittendrin.

The food was very high quality, very tasty. But wishes are not taken into account. Asked for half portions since I can't eat much due to an operation. I would have liked to have had two courses. They said it couldn't be done. No idea how to solve it. Still would have paid the full price. How about a surprise menu? I would have been really happy to see how flexible a chef can be. A pity. So only 1 course... yes, a very good one, but I would also have liked a starter and, with a bit of air, perhaps a dessert.

We went to the Alvis restaurant for brunch on December 25th, 2023. It was just great. The buffet was very varied and of very high quality. A piano player accompanied the Christmas ambience. The waiters and cooks worked tirelessly, discreetly and fulfilled every wish. 5 stars plus from us. We recommend.

Das Abendessen war sehr enttäuscht! Besonders war der alte Ober sehr schlimm. Er war total unfreundlich versuchte mehr Trinkgeld abzukassieren. Nie wieder! Ich will Nullpunkt geben.

It’s great place to try something local. It’s full of locals, especially during lunch time. Lunch is in very good price, served 12 to 15, always German cuisine- 3 soups to choose from and 2 dishes to choose.

Tisch zu zweit gehabt an einem Freitag Abend. Sehr ruhig, bisschen zu ruhig für meinen Geschmack, sodass man leise sprechen musste. Mit etwas Hintergrundmusik könnte man dem Entgegenkommen. Würde das Ambiente steigern. Das Essen war hoch qualitativ! Also das Fleisch und der Fisch waren oberste Klasse. Einziges Manko war dass mein Fisch bisschen zu ungewürzt war. Zu den Vorspeisen gibt es nichts zu kritisieren. Der Preis ist meiner Meinung an der Grenze. Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist okay aber nicht Herausagend. Der Kellner war sehr sympathisch.

War heute zum Businesslunch hier. Die Bedienung lustlos. Das Schnitzel als Formfleisch wirkte wie in der Micro angewärmt. Die Soße unterstützte optisch den Fertiggericht Geschmack. Schade eigentlich. Ich war hier schon Mal zur Küchenparty da war alles gut.

Wir hatten ein 3- Gang-Menue. Die Vorspeise Salat ist einem leider geschmacklos Käse. Salat war frisch,aber nicht umwerfend. Der Zander mit Spaghetti und 2 Garnelen. War iO . Das Dessert sehr gut. Insgesamt nur mittelmässig,va teuer in Relation zur Leistung. Wir hatten an unseren beiden folgenden Tagen zum gleichen Preis wirklich klasse Menues in zwei anderen Restaurants.

Wir waren mit der Familie Sonntags zum "Mittagsbruch" da und es hat uns sehr gut gefallen! Schönes, gemütliches, ruhiges Ambiente. Kein wildes Durcheinander, sondern sehr gesittet, sodass man sich auch problemlos unterhalten konnte. Das Personal war überaus zuvorkommend, richtig auf Zack und sehr nett. Beim Essen wurden alles Wünsche erfüllt. Von Fisch über Fleisch, kalte Speisen, warme Speisen, was süßes oder herzhaftes - alles was das Herz begehrt :)

Fish dishes are horrible, felt very low effort with the food. My friends meat was fully raw and there was blood dripping from it. Paid 20€ more for the menu than we were told. Waitress had us pay for water bottles we didn't drink. Rude staff.

Gehobene Küche und dies sehr gelungen. Perfekt dinniert und sehr freundlich bedient worden.

Wir sind seit einigen Jahren hier zum Valentins-Tag-Menü. Leider fällt die Kurve stark ab. Anfangs - vor einigen Jahren - gab es eine Ansprache der Leiterin, einen Winzer, der seine Weine erklärt und eine erstklassige Menüfolge - am Ende Applaus für das Küchen-Team. Das war jeden Euro wert, auch wenn es hier etwas hochpreisiger ist. Diesmal nun war das 5-Gänge-Menü auf drei Gänge eingedampft, wir waren allein, später kamen noch weitere Gäste, und nach 45 min war alles besprochen. Keine begleitenden Weine. Die Atmosphäre war dementsprechend enttäuschend, und am Ende des Menüs war noch ausreichen Hunger vorhanden, so dass wir noch mal im Bahnhof die Imbisse inspiziert haben. Wir wissen um die wirtschaftlichen Schwierigkeiten in der Gastronomie, und den Kellner trifft auch keine Schuld, der war sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Trotzdem war das eine Enttäuschung, und wir werden im nächsten Jahr etwas anderes unternehmen. Die Philosophie des Hotels und des Restaurants finden wir immer noch uneingeschränkt gut.

Leider haben wir hier ganz schlechte Erfahrungen machen müssen. Bei der telefonischen Reservierung bat ich darum, den Tisch geburtstaglich herzurichten. Das ging schief, der Tisch war wie jeder andere,es gab nicht einmal eine Kerze. Auch fragte ich explizit nach vegetarischen Gerichten, ja, auch das ist gar kein Problem. Hm- da war nichts. Das war für unseren Geburtstagsgast dann richtig super. Das Buffet war lieblos hergerichtet, auf den Thermosforen stand was uns darin erwartet. Das haben wir in niedrigpreisigen Restaurants deutlich besser erlebt. Am Tisch gab es einmal Besteck.Weiteres musste man erfragen, bei dem sich rar zeigenden , unprofessionell wirkenden Servicepersonal-schwierig. Als uns dann noch ein Sektglas -ala Angela Merkel- im Rücken serviert wurde, hatten wir fast alles, was uns diesen Geburtstagsabend versüsst hat 🤢. Wir werden diesen Geburtstagsabend jedenfalls nie vergessen. Absolut nicht zu empfehlen.

Очень долго ждали обслуживания. Официант с "вынужденным" лицом. Обычная ресторанная еда. Грязное фраже, отпечатки пальцев на стаканах. Неприятно удивлена заведение в центре Берлина.

Worst experience in Berlin. Too pretentious and so bad in fact. Risotto was overcooked, veggie steak smelled like cheap sausages and sides with potatoes and veggie puree didn’t fit each other. On my review, which I was trying to be polite, they said „it’s a matter of taste. Friend‘s real meat steak was well done by default, they forgot to ask, he didn’t mentioned how to cook. They tried to make presentation of dishes, but it looked cheap. Instead of price, which way too high for this quality.

I had Currywurst there, and it was served with lots of half decent fries without salad. Way too heavy. Wurst wasn't that bad but 80 percent of that dish was dry fries.

Ich muss sagen, hier ist im Grunde genommen alles in Ordnung. Handwerklich gute Küche, vielleicht nicht unbedingt aus der aktuellen Zeit. Der Kellner war nicht mein Favorit, da habe ich schon bessere Niveaus erlebt. Alles in allem finde ich das Preis- und Leistungsverhältnis nicht angemessen.

Tolle Location (Innenhof), sympathische Mitarbeiter und leckeres Essen! Was will man mehr. Die Preise sind etwas höher, die Portionen sind allerdings wirklich ausreichend groß. Wir kommen gern wieder!

Restaurante de cocina alemana moderna. Se ubica en un pequeño hotelito cerca del río. Tiene un jardín muy agradable y la clientela no es la típica turística. Tomamos, para dos, una ensalada de gambas, muy bien presentada y bien aliñada. Después, cada una, una carne similar a un solomillo, al punto y muy buena, con una variada guarnición. Pedimos un vino riesling blanco de la casa bastante decente. El servicio excelente y muy profesional. Nos gustó mucho. Se puede reservar por internet.

We found this restaurant the last evening, and it was the best of those restaurants we visited in Berlin this time. All was perfekt! I have already recommended it to frequently travellers and I say as Arnold S. I will be be back!

Herzlich exquisiter Service. Super angenehme Atmosphäre eben auch durch den echten Service. Wirklich sehr gute Balance zwischen fine dining und wohlfühlklima. Leider waren nicht alle Zutaten in der Karte bzw den Gerichten genannt, so dass ich im laut Lesart veganen Gericht in Butter geschwenkte Kartoffeln und Gemüse hatte. Schade.

Nach langer Fahrt mit dem Taxi wartete ich einige Minuten am Eingang an der Bar. Niemand aufzufinden. Selbst meine Suche links im schönen Lokal, Stille. Nach gefühlten 5 Minuten wartend am Restaurant Eingang direkt vor der Innenterrasse machte ich mich auf die Suche nach einem Mitbewerber. Telefonisch gab es vorab die Info das das Lokal geöffnet sei, scheinbar ohne Service um 17:00 😭

Accueil affable et service de standing. Une parenthèse culinaire agréable et calme en alternative aux plats toujours identiques que l'on trouve dans les brasseries. Une cuisine allemande de qualité, équilibrée et très élégante avec un niveau de prix légèrement plus élevé mais justifié. Bravo au chef !

I have to be fair, this review is only about the Sunday breakfast/brunch. The food variety and quality is good, but not great. Several hams, sausages, pâtés plus a few hot meal options. There are also good number of sweet breakfast options (pastries) too. Tea and filter coffee are included. Everything tasted okay. If you can eat a lot then it can be worth the price. The service was excellent.

Sehr gutes Buffet zum Frühstück

Wir waren am frühen Abend essen und das Restaurant war noch komplett leer. Wir wurden sehr aufmerksam von einer sehr kompetent und freundlichen Servicefachkraft Bedient und Beraten. Sie war Aufmerksam ohne aufdringlich zu sein und natürlich freundlich ohne das aufgesetzte Kellner Lächeln. Wir haben uns für das März Menü entschieden und das war die perfekte Wahl. Von der Suppe über den Hauptgang bis zum Dessert war alles stimmig und fein Abgeschmeckt. Die Portionen waren mehr als Ausreichend groß und appetitlich angerichtet. Wir hatten einen sehr schönen Abend.
