Restaurant „Alter Lindenhof" in Bergisch Gladbach

This was our second visit, as we were absolutely thrilled with our first one. The food was delicious again, but unfortunately, it was only lukewarm this time. We sat in the fireplace room, which is very cozy. The fireplace room is connected to the main dining room via a small courtyard, meaning the food has to be transported through this outdoor area. The staff doesn't always close the door to the fireplace room, so it gets quite chilly in there rather quickly. An automatic door closer would probably solve this problem. The service was very friendly, and despite the less-than-ideal temperature of the food, we will certainly return.

Always delicious, the goose breast is highly recommended. And the service is super friendly and attentive.

The food is generally good and tasty; the fact that the menu changes is also very nice. However, I can only recommend reserving a table in the "fireplace room" with reservations. Especially when it's cold outside, the staff unfortunately too often fails to close the door properly. And then it gets cold. As a guest, you're left sitting in a draft, which is very unpleasant. This also seems to affect the temperature of the food (it's rather lukewarm; which is a shame given the quality). If you can't manually adjust the door (which is certainly possible), you should gently use your foot to help close it if your hands are full.

A very nice restaurant with a great large beer garden, excellent service, and tasteful ambiance. We enjoy eating here with our son, and he's always delighted by the children's menu and the ice cream with colorful sprinkles for dessert. The dishes are reasonably priced and beautifully presented. Family celebrations are also no problem for the restaurant.

We celebrated our wedding at the Alter Lindenhof in September 2025 and were thrilled beyond measure. The planning beforehand was straightforward, professional, and very friendly. On the day itself, everything was beautifully set up (exactly as we had hoped and even more). We were greeted by friendly and dedicated staff who were always in constant communication with us. The food and drinks were both exceptionally delicious and of high quality. The coordination of the venue with other service providers was also always professional and seamless. We extend our sincere thanks to Ms. Pommeranz and her team and would choose this beautiful venue again in a heartbeat and at any time!

I've hosted several events with 70-100 people at the Alter Lindenhof. The food and service have always been excellent. Coordinating with Theresa regarding the organization is always friendly, prompt, and professional. My guests still talk about the successful events and the delicious food.

We visited the restaurant with a larger group outside of regular opening hours. The restaurant was opened especially for us and another group. The ambiance is stylish and well-maintained. The service is unobtrusive, attentive, and friendly. The menu isn't overly elaborate and doesn't attempt to blend French cuisine with sushi and German home cooking. A clear approach is combined with interesting variations. The vegetarian options offered aren't limited to grilled cheese with leaf spinach. The dishes arrived for the entire table about 20 minutes after ordering, which suggests good logistics in the kitchen. The catch of the day, cut of the day, pasta variations, as well as a classic Leberkäse (meatloaf), salads, and a dish from the children's menu were all spot on and, with little highlights like the small tomatoes, very well-rounded in flavor. The aioli and the fried potato sticks were also very positive snacks. The desserts were also the right size and well-chosen. We didn't try the interesting wine list. Prices at the Alte Lindenhof are absolutely reasonable. The prices are reasonable and don't claim to be exclusive. Of course, you're not operating at the same level as a chip shop in a restaurant. We're considering further visits.

Very nice location with an excellent selection of dishes. My mother chose this spot to celebrate her milestone birthday. Her guests loved it. Due to the rain shower, the waitress was a bit stressed, but she was able to rectify this with her very friendly manner and understanding explanations, without trying to hide. 2022 haben wir hier erstmals unser Klassentreffen abgehalten und seither kommen wir jährlich. Jetzt zum vierten Mal. Nie hat es eine ernsthafte Kritik am Essen gegeben, das Zufriedenheitslevel ist hoch, quer durch die attraktive Karte. Was ja bei Menschen mit jahrzehntelanger Gastronomieerfahrung eher ungewöhnlich ist. Der Service schwankt ein wenig von Jahr zu Jahr, aber die Chefin, Theresa Pommeranz, ist eine verlässliche Konstante. Grundsätzlich lässt sich sagen, der Service ist ff. Flott und freundlich. Der Gastgarten als solcher (von mir aus auch Biergarten) ist großartig: schön angelegt, gepflegt, ruhig und von angenehmer Größe. Ich wüsste in Gladbach keinen besseren. Auch das Publikum ist angenehm: Paare, Familien, Cliquen, vielleicht Vereine - alle scheinen sich sehr wohl zu fühlen. Nächstes Jahr werden wir wieder hier sein. Mal sehen, ob wir auch noch das 60-jährige schaffen.

We originally planned to eat in the beer garden, but had to move inside due to the weather. Rebooking was no problem.

All dishes (veal cheeks, flank steak, children's schnitzel) were excellently prepared. The steak was cooked to perfection, the cheeks were tender and flavorful, and the French fries were crispy (and homemade, I believe). All special requests were fulfilled without exception. The service from all three servers was incredibly friendly. The atmosphere is very pleasant and relaxed. Thank you so much, we'll be back!

Went here for goose dinner. Unfortunately the plates weren't warmed up, so the food quickly got cold. There wasn't enough sauce for the dumplings at the beginning and we had to ask for it. Overall, the food tasted good. But there is “room” for improvement. A highlight was the chestnut soup as a starter. We will come back to eat next year and try the regular menu.

Unfortunately, I don't recommend it. Due to a mistake by the waitress, a salad was charged at €4.90. Due to an intolerance, it consisted solely of cucumber slices. The estimated cost was about 1/4 cucumber, so a maximum of 20 cents. That's completely unprofessional and has nothing to do with value for money. A shame...

I celebrated my birthday there with twelve people. Even though a wedding party was celebrating at the same time, the service was excellent, fast, friendly, and always present. The food arrived perfectly on time, and all my guests were very satisfied. Thank you for a truly wonderful evening. We would love to come back.

We really wanted to go to a restaurant with an outdoor seating area to enjoy the beautiful weather, and we found one. The food was SUPER DELICIOUS and the outdoor area was truly lovely. As with most restaurants, the service could be a bit more attentive, for example, when it comes to reordering drinks, but everyone was really friendly and we felt very comfortable.

We ate at the old Lindenhof for the first time today and were thrilled. Because of the nice weather we sat outside in the beer garden. Very comfortable and lots of seats in the shade but also a few in the sun. There are currently delicious asparagus dishes. Unfortunately, the only thing I'm missing here is lactose-free milk or oat milk. We will definitely eat here again.

We celebrated a repentance dinner with around 50 people in the Altes Lindenhof and felt particularly comfortable. The team put a lot of effort into responding to our design wishes and accompanied us very nicely. The service was very nice and attentive and the food was very good.

Unfortunately, our friends (10 people) had to forego their bowling evening at short notice because the restaurant canceled their reservation in favor of a larger group (40 people). Very disappointing and not very reliable in planning.

Delicious Wiener Schnitzel and very fast, attentive and friendly service

Wir haben einen runden Geburtstag dort gefeiert. Es wurde im Vorfeld alles persönlich oder per Mail kommuniziert. Wünsche wurden umgesetzt und das Essen war heiß und sehr schmackhaft. Der Service freundlich und aufmerksam! Alles in allem ein gelungenes Fest und wir empfehlen gerne weiter.

Wir können die vielen guten Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Hatten als Vorspeisen Lachs mit Reibekuchen und eine Tomatensuppe. Die Reibekuchen waren total verbrannt. Nachdem wir diese reklamiert hatten wurden Neue serviert, die ähnlich dunkel waren, sehr schlecht. Eine Entschuldigung in irgendeiner Form gab es nicht. Die Tomatensuppe dagegen war sehr gut. Beiden Hauptspeisen fehlte es an Würze und Pfiff. Dafür war die Salatsauce viel zu sauer. Schade, aber wir werden dieses Lokal kein zweites Mal besuchen. Wir können das Lokal nicht weiteremfehlen.

I celebrated my birthday at the age of 28. It was a wonderful evening because I didn't actually have to worry about anything. Our waitress Birgit was there for us the whole evening! The food was excellent and came to the table in a timely manner for everyone. I can only recommend the restaurant. Thank you for the lovely evening

The ambience and the long history of the restaurant are unique and must be seen live. Alle Gerichte zu wenig für diese stolzen Preise. Geschmacklich auch nicht der Hit. Nie mehr wieder, reine Abzocke. Bruschetta 6€ zwei kleine Scheibchen Brot mit Tomate. Wienerschnitzen vom Kalb zwei kleine Schnitzelchen mit ein paar Fritten zu 26,90€. Wildgulasch zu 22,80€ nur fahserisches Fleisch. Kaiserschmarrn zu ca. 9€ sehr überschaubar. Der Sauerbraten war in Ordnung und genug. Geschmacklich auch okay. Nich zu Empfehlen leider.

A bit difficult to find, but it's worth it: in summer, beautiful garden with loungers, large covered terrace, cozy but not kitschy interior. Very good, fresh food with local products, excellent quality and quantity at pleasantly moderate prices. Delicious, also non-alcoholic cocktails. Very nice and attentive service. Highly recommended!

Went there for the Christmas goose dinner. Prices just ok. Ambience great. Mix of tavern with modern elements. Not stale. Unfortunately, every year there is a little less love and effort. More special, more appropriate for the Advent season, aperitif could not be offered even upon request. Rigid reference to the map. Things have been different in the last few years. Unfortunately dessert has to go back. Cold and dry. But a perfect replacement arrived quickly. But overall a nice evening.

Oh well. That wasn't the Lindenhof I knew.

Sehr schmackhaftes Essen( Cut des Tages: Prachthahn,der wirklich prächtig gelungen war und Fang des Tages; Lachs, kross die Haut und auf den Punkt gegart das Fleisch) mit abgestimmten Beilagen,grosse Portionen,sehr netter und zuvorkommender,herzlicher Service und ein mehr als fairesPreis- Leistung-Verhältnis. Diesmal mit einer wunderschönen Weihnachtsdekoration,auch im Garten. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne hier her.

Überaus freundliches Personal. Die ganze Gans war zart, die Haut knusprig. Sauce und Beilagen ebenfalls sehr schmackhaft.

Wir hatten für eine Geburtstagsfeier in den Raum im 1. Stock gebucht. Im Vorgespräch wurden alle Details besprochen (Personenzahl, Tischeindeckung, Blumenschmuck etc.) und eine Woche vor dem Termin aus der Saison-Speisenkarte eine Auswahl für Hauptgerichte vorgenommen. Am Tag der Feier gab es leider zwei Minuspunkte: Die vereinbarte Tischdekoration (Blumengestecke) waren vergessen worden und anstatt der gebuchten Bestecke für die Anwesenden standen Töpfe mit Bestecken auf dem langen Tisch. Alles sah jedoch einladend aus. Die Restaurantleiterin entschuldigte sich für das Versehen und nahm spontan als Ausgleich den Sektempfang auf Kosten des Hauses - eine sehr kundenorientierte Lösung! Die Speisen und Getränke entsprachen unseren Erwartungen, da wir das Restaurant vorher schon öfters besuchten. Es war wiederum sehr lecker! Auch wurde darauf geachtet, dass es zwischen den einzelnen Gängen ausreichend Zeit gab. Die Bedienung war stets höflich und freundlich und hat nach ihren Möglichkeiten regelmäßig für "Nachschub" an Getränken gesorgt. Das inzwischen erhaltene Feedback der Gäste der Feier: Es war ein toller Abend und man wäre sicherlich nicht das letze Mal Gast im Alten Lindenhof gewesen. Fazit: Wir waren alle rundum zufrieden!

Unfortunately there is only one slot. We got a table for 4 people at short notice from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. All goose breast with side dishes. The breast was crispy, but a bit dry and somehow lacked a kick. The Brussels sprouts were just boiled in water, totally tasteless. Red cabbage ok. Dumplings normal. I get sauce better. A baked apple was missing. Unfortunately we were also asked to pay at 6:45 p.m. That's better.

Super nice inn with a cozy atmosphere. The service is quick and very friendly. The portions are not huge but completely sufficient. Taste A1! Great value for money, the wine list is worth a look. Gladly again

Wir waren zum Gans essen dort, das Essen war echt richtig gut. Die Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich aber leider unorganisiert und hat uns warten lassen. 30 Minuten mussten wir warten, bis wir bestellen konnten. Beim Abräumen konnte sie nicht alles auf einmal nehmen und vergaß dann den Rest zu holen.

The Alte Lindenhof is beautifully located and in summer you can sit outside. It has very friendly service. Unfortunately, the food leaves a lot to be desired, especially given the rather high price. Five of us ate very different dishes and weren't really convinced. There seem to be a lot of convenience products. Yes, that's the case in many restaurants, but we didn't find it reasonable for the price on our second visit either. Maybe we were unlucky too. Overall, the visit is still worth it, especially because of the beautiful location.
