Our new insider tip when it comes to lovingly prepared, homemade food. A friendly couple run the place, a great ambiance inside and out, super fresh food, and reasonable prices. We should really keep this to ourselves, but we're not like that at all.

A super cute and friendly restaurant with delicious schnitzel. Relaxed atmosphere, charmingly decorated, and very clean. The portions were generous, just right, and, above all, prepared with love. The fact that the chef came by to check on us was the icing on the cake – along with the treats for our dog.

The beer garden is top-notch. It's a great place for a cozy dinner. The food is plentiful, freshly prepared, and delicious. The prices are absolutely reasonable. We'll be back.

We were just at the Schweizer Haus with seven people and were very satisfied and enthusiastic. The restaurant is run directly by the owner. Drinks at the table were never empty, and the food and portions were simply amazing. We felt very comfortable. I came there with friends because, as a Cologne native, I wanted to try it out. And they served Kölsch. We'd love to come back here again.

Full of enthusiasm after the reopening but completely overwhelmed. The terrace is nice. Food is like a fast food place, only three times as expensive. Opening hours are mixed, probably changing depending on the mood. Not worth the trip.

We had a family celebration at the Schweizerhaus in May and were completely satisfied with everything. The buffet was prepared according to our wishes. A clean, attractive restaurant with attentive, friendly and fast service. There is Apolda beer, as well as Kölsch and Cologne music, which I find appropriate given the boss's background. The layout of the map confused me. The humorously designed “food menu” can only be found in the back. In fact, I was also surprised that the only non-pork dish was a salad with scampi/prawns, which are actually crabs. My husband still liked it... (the homemade yogurt dressing tasted delicious) he just expected something different. I chose the slightly “lighter” Strammen Max and was expecting something different based on the description on the menu. I associate “hearty” bread and “hearty” ham with a different image. But given the price/performance ratio, I can't really complain about it. The two schnitzels from our two companions looked very good and tasted good too! Homemade mashed potatoes and no fried potatoes from a package! Thank you for the lovely evening and greetings from Berlin!

We had a family celebration at the Schweizer Haus. The staff was very friendly and we were served quickly. The food is really worth 5 stars. We had a buffet and were able to try every dish. Everything was freshly prepared. Many thanks again to the boss Frank. I can only recommend it.

Yesterday we were invited to a family celebration at the Schweizer Haus and, based on the reviews, we weren't entirely unbiased - I would say. We were excited! And then it happened as it had to happen - we were thoroughly pleasantly surprised! So first of all: there is absolutely no smell of old grease here! That is simply untrue! There's no need to say anything about the ambience - it's cozy, everything is very clean and tidy, you even feel comfortable in the toilets :)! We had a buffet, very nicely presented, nice selection and it tasted good too. Pepper and salt were on the tables so that everyone could adjust the seasoning according to their preferences (I didn't think it was necessary - I liked it very much!). As a surprise for the birthday child there was a fresh, delicious, home-baked cake, MEGA! (Where else can you get something like that!?) In addition to many other drinks, there were also various beers (Apoldaer & Kölsch), something to suit every taste! Only the music left something to be desired, you should expand your repertoire here :-D We hope that you find good service staff and maybe you give your delicious food names that are more inviting than some of the ones currently on the menu - in our opinion that doesn't suit the really cozy atmosphere and you. But you have to assess that. We would love to come back and will recommend you to others!

After the owner changed, the quality, service and price deteriorated dramatically. Just walking past there is an unpleasant smell of old grease. The food selection has absolutely nothing to do with Swiss house and not offering regional beer but Kölsch is a complete impudence!

After we had to wait over 1.5 hours for our food, my hat string burst and we left. You can't think much of the service because there was hardly any. Before entering the establishment there was a smell of old and burnt fat. The health department should lend a hand!!!

Six of us were there for a birthday dinner. Having read the reviews beforehand, I thought, "Well, let's see what awaits me?!" But I had nothing to complain about. We were greeted warmly and with a joke. Our drinks order was also taken, and the food came quickly and pleasantly. I had already read that the portions are large - yes, they are. The meat was okay, but the portion of fried potatoes is definitely enough for two people, even for the average eater. It would be good to make them smaller or offer the option of half a portion - it would be a shame if they had to be thrown away because they were too hard to finish. The food was tasty - and it wasn't oversalted, as is often described. What was a bit annoying was that some of the fried potatoes had been in the pan for too long and were therefore too crispy - but here you can see that these aren't pre-cut items. I liked it. Frank was friendly, we had a good conversation, and we'll be back. Maybe you could do lunch sometime this weekend—that would certainly be a hit. It's great to have a restaurant in this region again.

I'm really disappointed with our visit, as we were looking forward to the reopening... The service was... well... And the food was so obviously substandard it was almost painful... The "Stramme Max" consisted of pre-packaged cold bread topped with cheap packaged ham, the fried potatoes were half-burnt, and the salad resembled a cheap bag of salad from the supermarket... My girlfriend wanted the currywurst with fried potatoes instead of fries. This wasn't possible... The schnitzel was okay and the portions were large, but that was it, unfortunately. What a shame...

...Hello and good evening, nice to have you here... That would have been a good start, at least. Instead, we felt more like a "disruptive"... We were given a small table (2 people) next to a large family that was loudly planning their New Year's Eve celebration... Forget it. After we sat down at our table, and I immediately had to replace the chair because it threatened to collapse (another guest had the same experience), we had the impression... we had been forgotten. After a while, someone finally came, took our drink orders, and then disappeared again (without much ado... or in a certain open, friendly manner). Slowly, the place filled up more and more... strange... people who arrived significantly after us (and were sitting closer to the bar) were immediately served drinks. A beer and two Cokes then arrived... about 20 minutes had passed in the meantime. A while later, our food order was finally taken (which is why we came in the first place). I ordered the "Taxi Plate" and my partner the "Assi Platter" (the dishes were called something like that). Actually, both were very simple dishes, not particularly complicated or time-consuming. After about 55 minutes, the third server arrived with the food... and the cutlery wasn't even laid out until afterward... (I'm used to it a bit differently: it's either already on the table or... is laid out by a server shortly after the drinks). I have to say, visually, my taxi plate seemed large enough... but appearances can be deceiving. Firstly, the meatloaf was sliced ​​almost wafer-thin... and secondly, they had packed so much onion under the fried eggs... that it should have been the main ingredient, and the meatloaf merely a side dish. On top of that, about a third of my fried potatoes were inedible... burnt and hard as plastic. My girlfriend had something completely primitive, just a currywurst with fries. I'll put it mildly, almost every snack bar can do it a bit more creatively. A Thuringian bratwurst as a currywurst... that's okay... you could do it, if it hadn't been lukewarm. The "curry sauce" was more like a rather runny tomato paste in consistency... with a dash of "curry powder" mixed in... The accompanying fries were the simplest, most boring standard frozen fries you can find. Better to have a few fewer fries (like they do at Mola these days), but instead sweet potato fries, wavy fries, or thick Belgian fries. Then season and salt them properly... and you've got a simple but delicious dish. The price of around 15 euros... was definitely not worth it. When we indicated that we'd like to pay, it was acknowledged... but even then... it took a good 10-15 minutes before someone finally came with the bill, which I rounded up... (tip), not even a "Did you enjoy your meal..., would you like something else?", or "Thank you very much for coming, we look forward to welcoming you back...", or at least "Have a nice evening and a Merry Christmas"... just such a primitive phrase... but no, just a quietly mumbled "Thank you, bye." So even my partner was pretty annoyed by now, and disappointed to boot... we had somehow expected more from the evening. It may be, as some people here write, that it was fantastic, etc., that they just had a "good" day... but that's how it should always be; at the very least, the guest should feel > welcome! (And no, that doesn't require a red carpet). Without a few changes, we won't be back anytime soon.

Unfortunately, we were disappointed during our visit a few days ago. The waiter was, to put it mildly, very rustic. It made you feel uncomfortable ordering anything at all. Definitely the wrong calling. The list lists a lot of wines, but in the end there was only one white and one red. Why not just write that on the menu? The menu consists only of hearty meat dishes and one salad. Lighter food in the evening is completely lacking. It's not very contemporary. The portions are very large. Unfortunately, that's not a good time for us; perhaps we'll try again during beer garden season, hoping that they offer smaller dishes too.

The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the staff is very friendly. Simply fantastic, and I highly recommend it. It's worth a visit.

We had a Christmas party there. Upon request, they said only a buffet was available. Okay. The menu for €28 per person was very limited; rice as a side dish alongside noodles and fried potatoes was unavailable. Upon arrival, the service was very rude, almost rude. The food was okay, quite salty, no fireworks, but solid. The prices for drinks are very high. After 9 p.m., no one asked if anyone wanted anything else. Our group was the only guests; actually, there were too many of us. It's a shame, Apolda was so looking forward to it. It was my first and last time there.

My partner and I decided to have dinner at the Schweizerhaus last night. We also got a table. I had the Brätl with fried onions and fried potatoes, which wasn't my taste at all and in my opinion didn't have much to do with Brätl. The onions were rolled in some spice powder and would be really gritty when eaten and inedible for me. The Brätl was a very thick slice of pork neck that was marinated in something and then fried. As I said, I know Brätl differently. The fried potatoes tasted good but were quite dry and way too much. The side salad looked like a pre-cut salad, which in itself isn't bad, but not for the price. Also, the dressing was way too sour so we gave half the salad back. My partner's farmer's schnitzel was OK. Service seemed very overwhelmed to me. And if you, as a guest, have to listen to the arguments between our colleagues and the boss, that's not so great either.

We were there with a larger group. The food was very salty and unfortunately one schnitzel was still raw inside. The service was rather rough. Maybe we just had a bad evening, but I won't come again.

Apart from a few understandable “teething problems” shortly after the opening, it was a decent start to what will hopefully be a long Schweizerhaus era. The quality of the food was top notch, less than 20 minutes from ordering to serving.

Today we were in the newly opened Schweizerhaus. It is very comfortably furnished. The schnitzel was really excellent. Keep it up.

We had a great celebration. Despite the uncertain weather situation, the response was quick and flexible, so that we were able to eat and sit comfortably both inside at the table and outside. The beer garden is beautifully decorated. As soon as drinks were ordered, they were on the tables a short time later. The buffet was very great. The food tasted wonderful. A great selection. All the guests raved about the celebration. The location is great, the food was very good and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. 👍🏼 We can only recommend old Fritz :)

Great team, everything very personal! Absolute flexibility depending on the weather with a well-maintained exterior and modern interior or both! We sat very comfortably in the shade of the trees on a warm summer day, the terrace is a dream! Quality top!!!

50th birthday. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. The staff was friendly, very attentive to the children and offered them something to keep them busy. The interior design was well thought out and harmoniously furnished and not intrusive. The background music offered something for every taste and was at a pleasant volume. When you entered the restaurant, it didn't smell like frying fat or fried food (as in other restaurants and pubs), but rather pleasant and fresh. Thank you for this successful evening.

There is only one thing you can say about this restaurant: an absolutely great experience. The food was top class at the highest level. The service left nothing to be desired, was very nice, always friendly and super attentive. The ambience shows very good and modern taste. We felt more than comfortable in this restaurant and we can recommend it with a clear conscience. Many thanks to the team at Alten Fritz, it was a wonderful and successful evening.

Due to double occupancy elsewhere, we were lucky enough to be able to book at "Alten Fritz" for the planned day at fairly short notice. Since we were essentially self-catering, meaning we brought our own food and drinks, I can't give a review at this point. Thanks to the good weather, we were only outside with about 30-35 people, but we could have gone inside, but it would have been quite cozy. So we had the front room to put our stuff down and put it down. During the entire time there was someone on site for preparations, decoration and setting of the tables, help in the kitchen and - very pleasant for us - washing dishes :) We felt really comfortable and thanks to the mishap at the other location, the Apolda residents among our guests also had the opportunity to get to know this location from the inside. ;) Since the bathrooms are very narrow, there is unfortunately no space for changing diapers. We simply used a table inside. I didn't pay attention to the presence of a child's chair because we don't need one yet. I can imagine that we or some of our guests will be "repeat offenders" - provided that "Old Fritz's" calendar isn't full ;)

We celebrated our son starting school here. We were completely satisfied. Great service, nice atmosphere and delicious food from Mr. Kindleb. We wish the team all the best and will definitely recommend you. :)

Wir feierten den 60.Geburtstag in angenehmer Atmosphäre. Geschmackvolle Dekoration im Innen- und Außenbereich, wunderschöner Biergarten im Grünen und freundliche Bedienung durch Familie Müller. Das Essen (Brunch) von Herrn Kindleb war fantastisch. Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war auch okay. Wir können das Restaurant auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen.

Es war eine rundum tolle Veranstaltung, die ich genauso immer wieder machen würde! Die Gastleute waren total lieb, zuvorkommend und auf Zack! Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Das Essen war super lecker und total schön angerichtet! Ein riesen Kompliment an das gesamte Team, es müsste viel mehr solcher Gaststätten in Apolda geben! Wir haben eine Jugendweihe gefeiert. Die Location war sehr schön eigerichtet. Die Bedienung super freundlich und das Menü war super lecker. Wir würden diese Gaststätte immer wieder buchen und auf jeden Fall weiter empfehlen. Wir wünschen dem Team weiterhin viel Erfolg. Macht weiter so.

Wir haben unsere Familienweihnachtsfeier am 26.12.2022 dort verbracht. Es war alles liebevoll hergerichtet und selbst auf unsere Extrawürste und - wünsche wurde unkomplizert und freundlich reagiert. Das Essen war absolut perfekt. Wir waren rundum begeistert! 🤩 Ein supernettes Team und ein ausgezeichneter Service! Ein gelungener Abend und wir kommen gerne wieder!

Wir waren zur Weihnachtsfeier mit meinen Kollegen vom Kindergartenteam. Das Essen war 5 Sterne ,mega lecker u grosse Vielfalt. Das Buffet mega lecker. Die Bedienung sau freundlich u cool . Wie hatten uns letztes Wochenende zum feiern unserer Schuleinführung im "Alten Fritz" eingemietet. Unterm Strich die beste Entscheidung, die wir hätten treffen können. Die Location besticht durch eine ungezwungene Atmosphäre, der angrenzende Außenbereich läd bei schönem Wetter zum Cocktail trinken ein und durch das abgeschlossene Grundstück konnten die Kids entspannt spielen. Der Inhaber als auch sein junger Mitstreiter sorgten für eine ganz tolle Feierlichkeit. Beginnend bei der vorherigen Absprache, über die Vorbereitung, bis hin zu den aufmerksamen Augen am Abend, welche uns nie leere Gläser bescherten. Wir und unsere Gäste sagen besten Dank für diesen runden und unvergesslichen Tag. Für unsere nächste Familienfeier mit Sicherheit die erste Wahl. Daumen hoch für das Team vom "Alten Fritz"! Haben dort unsere Hochzeit gefeiert und sowohl wir als auch unsere Gäste waren alle mehr als zufrieden. Location ist alles sehr schön gemacht, sauber und gepflegt. Wir konnten bei schönen Wetter auch den Außenbereich mit nutzen was Abends sehr toll aussieht. Netter und kommunikationsfreudiger Inhaber der auch auf Wünsche eingeht. Das Essen war sehr lecker und wunderschön angerichtet. Preisleistung ist denke ich nicht so schnell woanders zu finden. Wir werden ganz sicher noch weitere Feiern dort abhalten.

Habe heute eine sehr schöne Familienfeier gefeiert, die vom Service des Restaurants schön abgerundet wurde. Gastgeber und Kellner waren sehr freundlich und präsent. Der Koch war sehr freundlich und hat beim Abschied wert darauf gelegt, sich nochmal persönlich zu verabschieden und sicherzugehen, dass es gut geschmeckt hat. Das Buffet war sehr vielseitig und es schmeckte sehr gut. Ich habe nichts auszusetzen!
