Unfortunately, today was the last time we were able to eat. As always, from the ambiance to the food and service, everything was 100% perfect. We'll miss you at this place 🥹, but we hope to see you again in Bad Münder. 😗Detlef and Anke

I used to go to the old blacksmith's shop a lot with my girlfriend. Everyone was nice and friendly, the food was excellent. Unfortunately, a lot has changed since then. The food is expensive, and the people were really unfriendly. It was tasty, but a lot has changed, unfortunately.

We ordered for delivery, and it was super fast. The baked gyros itself was delicious. Unfortunately, the tzatziki wasn't exactly amazing, and they only served it with two rubbery baguette slices, which was very disappointing. There was also a black hair in the lettuce and the lettuce stalk was still attached... And just a quick tip: it unfortunately tasted very metallic because of the aluminum pan. The service was very nice on the phone and upon delivery.

We ordered there for the first time today and probably won't do it again. My wife had a Metaxa gyro, although the Metaxa sauce is unfortunately more of a tomato sauce. I had a Metaxa schnitzel. The meat was pre-battered, battered meat that was then thrown into the deep fryer. At least, that's what it looked like, and that's what it tasted like, too. Unfortunately, the Metaxa sauce was just as disappointing—more of a tomato sauce than Metaxa. The fries were okay, but the rice also just tasted like tomato. And the extra fries were completely forgotten. We picked up the food ourselves, so we didn't notice they were missing until we got home. 10 minutes from ordering to pickup should have been a bit of a turnaround. The staff, however, were very nice and friendly.

Ordered for the first time. Prices too high for the portion size, and the taste was okay but nothing special. The fries were soggy, and the salads were sad—more coleslaw than salad.

Ordered something for the second time. Very friendly from ordering to delivery. Special requests were accommodated. Delivery time was on time. The food was very good. A little more dressing on the salad would have been great. Otherwise, excellent and I'd go back.

We were there and were very impressed from the start. The atmosphere is fantastic. The staff are super friendly, and the food is fantastic at a great price. In our opinion, the best Greek restaurant we've ever been to. Keep up the good work.

We went out to eat with a larger group today and it was changed straight away for us because we had a wheelchair user with us. Great service, delicious food, the tzatziki is a creamy dream. Sufficient portions, price performance is right.

Delivering to Feggendorf (15km 17 minutes drive) but not to Holtensen (13km 14 minutes drive according to Google) would supposedly be too far???

Yesterday we were at the forge again for a while to eat. Unfortunately I have to agree with many of the comments. Prices increased dramatically and portions became smaller. I found 4€ for a bit of Metaxa sauce (it wasn't even hot) very outrageous. Service was very friendly! I was shocked by the sanitary facilities, more than in need of renovation, even a little paint and silicone isn't enough! With such steep prices, I expect something different. We won't be going there again anytime soon, there are better restaurants there

We have been a customer for over 25 years and in the last few months we have felt like we have been taken for a fool. After the prices have been constantly raised and you probably don't dare to raise them again, you use the trick of making the portions significantly smaller in order to save money. You order (delivery service) the large gyro plate and the box is only half full. They explicitly advertise a large gyro plate here and you won't be full afterwards. For others, the portion of a normal gyro plate is larger than here. The gyrospita used to fill the entire plastic plate, but today it only fills a little more than half. And the gyros was also minimized. The aluminum bowls for pasta are no longer filled to the brim, but are just a little more than half full. Suzukis have shrunk and skewers and salads, for example, are smaller than before. The terribly expensive fries no longer reach the lid in the box and are often soggy or raw on the inside. The gyros often taste warmed up and are very dry. This is probably where you save the most. We come and as customers feel so stupid and ask ourselves whether the old forge thinks that the customer doesn't notice this approach? We will look for another delivery service in the future if the situation here does not improve significantly.

The five of us were in this restaurant for the first time today and at first from the outside we thought mmh, well, it's not in great shape, but we wanted to test it out. When we went in, the prejudices were completely gone. It looks very elegant and well-kept .No broken chairs or plates.The service was also very nice and accommodating.When the food was ready, which arrived perfectly on time, we were still convinced.It looked very good and everything tasted great.I would at any time go back and this Recommend restaurant! We always enjoyed eating there and also ordered to pick up. The food is always nicely prepared and delicious. However, we are no longer willing to pay the now high prices for the small, sometimes even measly portions. When asked, they said portions are always the same. Unfortunately that is not the case. Too bad! :/

Overall, definitely worth a visit. The meat is really good, 50-100 grams more would be definitely justified for the price. Minus points: - You might want to change the fat in the deep fryer more often - the toilets are not in adequate condition. Otherwise very pleasantly surprised. Service was very attentive, quick and all the special requests were fulfilled, despite the busyness.

Very very tasty food. The dishes were served quickly and were fresh and hot. The staff and especially the young man who served us were extremely friendly. The restaurant is well maintained and has a nice ambience. The prices may seem a little higher at first, but the portions are just right and the food is of high quality. We would be happy to come back and recommend the restaurant. ☺️

So no matter whether you eat there or order it, it tastes very good and you don't have to wait long. I had a cucumber salad and it was really the best so far. The tzatziki is also the best so far, which is why I give it 5 stars

We were greeted warmly and had free choice of seating 😁 the menu was brought to the table and the drinks order was taken. The drinks arrived quickly at our table and the food order was taken. Our food also came to our table quickly. The taste of the food was very good and the combination was very interesting and tasty. The gyro could have been a little hotter 🔥. There are four of me 🌟🌟🌟🌟

We have always been very satisfied with the food so far. But today it was the worst thing ever. First of all, it was said that it would take about an hour for them to deliver it. Then they came and the food was just cold. The fries were limp and the meat was cold. We've never had anything like this before where the food is cold.

Unfortunately, the quality of the delivery service varies greatly. We have been ordering from the old forge for many, many years and have recently noticed more and more that prices are rising and quality is declining. The portions have become smaller. For example, where the bread and gyros of the gyro pita used to fill the entire plate, today 1/4 is missing, so that you can see the bottom of the plate around the pita. Fries with, for example, mayo now cost a very expensive 3.70 euros and you often get fries delivered that have not been properly fried and only have a blob of mayo on them (€0.70 is simply too much money for that). The side salad on the gyro plate already had brown spots on the iceberg lettuce a few times. The gyros is rarely crispy and is often very pale. We have often had the gyros taste like they were warmed up the day before (perhaps the first layer after being warmed up on the rotisserie spit at opening time). The food often arrives cold or lukewarm. That's not okay for the prices quoted. Some prices have really reached the limit. The quality should be consistently good at the prices. In 2024 there will probably be an increase in VAT and you really have to ask yourself whether the quality provided is still worth it. When asked about mistakes, things don't really get better afterwards. We would like things to go back to how they used to be, then we would definitely change our rating to a positive one.

It was a great time, the service was great, and the food absolutely met my expectations. All in all very recommendable. 🥰

Leider beim Lieferservice bestellt gegen den Rat meiner Freunde, und jetzt weiß ich warum... Pommes nicht durch, Currywurst mit zu wenig Ketchup so das ich für die andere Hälfte kein Ketchup mehr habe. Also ich verstehe wenn das Haus voll ist und das Essen länger dauert, aber wir haben 1,5std gewartet und dann auch noch 26,40€ bezahlt und das ist für die Qualität leider sehr naja eigentlich schon frech wenn man halb rohes essen auf den Tisch kommt. Ich möchte am liebsten mein Geld wieder haben da es so gut wie ungesissbar ist. Die Hoffnung habe ich noch auf die Nudel die ich bestellt aber noch nicht probiert habe. Stellt am besten den Lieferservice ein wenn ihr die (,, normalerweise Hammer Qualität nicht halten könnt,,) also mir tun die kanpp 30€ echt leid

Ein nettes Lokal, gutes Essen und wirklich nettes, aufmerksames Personal. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis glatte 1a. Bei schönem Wetter kann man draußen auch sehr gut sitzen. Nur schade, wirklich schade: KEINE Kartenzahlung.

Hab nur Bekannte dort hingebracht, allerdings haben die in den höchsten tönen geschwärmt. Leider war ruhetag als ich mit meinem Mann essen gehen wollte.

Sehr aufmerksames dynamisches Personal, Portion nicht üppig aber ausreichend für ältere Erwachsene. Lecker war es auch. Deko & Pflanzen dezent hübsch gehalten, zum wohlfühlen. Kleines Manko die Stühle waren etwas unbequem.

Wir haben nicht nur gegessen, sehr lecker, sondern auch gekegelt. Hierbei erwiesen sich die Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen als sehr hilfreich beim Beheben von Problemen. Wir gehen hier jetzt öfter essen und Kegeln hier in der kalten Jahreszeit ( im Sommer spielen wir Minigolf.) Das Gyros kann man auch als "Hähchengyros" bekommen, was eine sehr gute Idee ist. Parkplätze befinden sich direkt vorm Haus. Als Ausqeichmöglichkeit bietet sich der Parkplatz bei Takko an.

Seit November 1998 das erste Mal wieder hier gegessen und mein Gaumen wurde wieder verwöhnt. Ich habe Jahrelang einen guten Griechen in Magdeburg gesucht, aber keiner reichte geschmacklich an die Alte Schmiede in Bad Münder ran. Zum Geburtstag, bestellte ich mir nach 25Jahren das erste Mal wieder in der Alten Schmiede und wurde belohnt. Am Samstag war ich das erste Mal im "neuen" Standort zum Essen. Die Freude über das Wiedersehen war auf beiden Seiten groß und der Geschmack wurde wieder bestätigt. Hier stimmt das Preis Leistungsverhältnis und die Atmosphäre. Aus tiefster Seele kann ich Euch dies weiterempfehlen, hier wird mit viel Herz alles zubereitet.

Richtig lecker und sehr preiswert

Lieferung war schnell nur leider war die Lieferung komplett falsch und die Pommes haben nicht gut geschmeckt.

Sehr nettes Ambiente, sehr sehr freudliches Personal, sehr Kinderfreundlich und wirklich leckeres Essen. Auch wenn der Weg weit ist werden wir sicher wieder kommen.

Sehr nettes Personal, das Essen (vor allem Fleisch) war rundum lecker und großzügig portioniert. Zudem kein Handyempfang innen, die Kegelbahn konnten wir leider nicht testen.

Das Essen kam recht schnell und hat auch einigermaßen gut geschmeckt. Ich hatte es mir anders vorgestellt. Der Grill ist diesmal nicht explodiert

Sehr sauberes Lokal. Freundliche Bedienung. Humane Preise. War spontan da. Bin hier zu Besuch komme aus Schleswig Holstein.

Der Tarama Salat war angenehm mild, leider war das Brot dazu lappig und völlig geschmacklos. Die Lammkotellets waren okay, die Pommes gut, der Salat für mich zu salzig.

Das Essen ist der Wahnsinn. Ich komme extra aus Rinteln um das Essen zu genießen. Weiter so
