Duck buffet with many side dishes. Beautifully situated inn with plenty of seating. A very large hall with a fantastic view of the Weser Uplands. The buffet was set up in the adjoining room and offered a very good selection. Duck legs and duck breast. The duck breast was pre-sliced ​​and served incredibly juicy. Many side dishes, potatoes, and croquettes. Everything was delicious. Very friendly service, excellent location. One minor drawback: the buffet was replenished a bit slowly, but everything was very fresh.

Yesterday, we went to the "Duck Buffet" at the Ziegenbuche restaurant, but we didn't stay overnight. It was very, very good. The duck breast was still a delicate pink, which I hadn't expected, and the legs were very tender. A good Merlot accompanied it, and the meal was perfect.

Schnitzel buffet: Delicious. Large selection of side dishes. Well-presented dishes. Friendly and attentive staff. Refined atmosphere. Lovely outdoor area with goats 🐐. A great view of the village.

Today we visited the mountain inn, but only ate in the restaurant—therefore, we haven't reviewed the hotel itself. When we made our reservation, we were told that only à la carte dining was possible, as the "schnitzel buffet" taking place today was already fully booked. This wasn't a problem, however, as the menu promised some delicious dishes. Upon inquiry, we were told that we could participate in the schnitzel buffet—it was held one floor below in separate rooms—we would simply have had to bring the food from the buffet up with us. So we looked at the buffet offerings—but assumed that, given the enormous demand, it would probably already be "cleared out," even though the event was scheduled to last for more than an hour. However, after reading "Twitoc's" Google review, I can only confirm his assessment. Only two schnitzels to choose from, fries, some vegetables, and a rather "modest" salad selection is no longer up to date and doesn't justify the price. Others do it much better. So we decided to dine a la carte. We were not disappointed. Both the selection and the taste were very satisfactory. The service staff were always friendly and courteous, despite the restaurant being very full. The overall ambiance makes a very sophisticated impression. Since the restaurant offers several buffet specials, I can't judge whether other buffets are of higher quality and presented in a more contemporary style. One can only hope so, as both the restaurant, the a la carte dishes, and the staff deserve 5 stars.

We didn't visit the hotel, only the restaurant. The food is excellent; we particularly recommend the venison goulash and the mushrooms with aioli. According to the waitress, the venison comes directly from the Deister region. Truly fantastic! Regional cuisine, very tasty and beautifully prepared. If we were staying here, we would definitely be more frequent guests. Unfortunately, we were just passing through.

We got the food very quickly and everything was delicious.

Recommended for anyone with money and desperately wanting to spend it. A 0.75L water bottle for €7.50, and for a ketchup order, a mini shot glass full of ketchup costs an additional €1.50 on top of the €1. I really regret the €20 tip in retrospect. Since the receipt is only printed and handed over after payment, it's not possible to check it beforehand. The food tasted good, but was slightly unpleasant afterward. The service was good.

I first visited the Ziegenbuche restaurant in 1954 when I was four years old. I've been going there more or less ever since. I still highly recommend it.

We were at the Ziegenbuche for Mother's Day. Everyone at the surrounding fully occupied tables got their food at the same time. That was a great achievement, given the rush. We had an oversized schnitzel, breaded and pan-fried by ourselves. It tasted wonderful, and we'll definitely be back. We were at the Ziegenbuche again on Whitsun Sunday and had venison goulash. The meat was very high quality and absolutely outstanding.

Based on the many positive reviews, I booked the schnitzel buffet with my family for my birthday. There was a choice of pork and chicken schnitzel. Unfortunately, the only sauces available were mushroom and Balkan sauce. A hollandaise sauce, Samba sauce, or even a few lemon slices for a schnitzel on its own were missing. The side dish was French fries (delicious), but the potato slices were unfortunately too soft, evidently taken out of the pan a little too early and not considered fried potatoes. There was also seasonal vegetables. In summary: The online version doesn't provide information about the amount of sauce, but the printed version does. Unfortunately, this buffet isn't suitable for a birthday dinner.

I've lived in the area for almost a year now and have heard nothing but positive things about the restaurant. So I wanted to try it on the schnitzel buffet day. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. There were two types of schnitzel (chicken and pork), which were also very tasty. I expected them not to be nice and crispy at a buffet. Unfortunately, there were only two sauces to choose from (paprika sauce and mushroom cream sauce), and I don't eat mushrooms. The server brought me a sauce without mushrooms, but unfortunately, it still tasted like mushrooms because the mushrooms had just been fished out. On the side, there were fries, which were quite okay, and fried potatoes, which were more like sautéed potatoes or boiled potatoes, as they had little to do with fried potatoes. And a seasonal vegetable selection. You also had the option of something from the salad bar. However, the white and red cabbage here were far too acidic for my taste. And only one dressing to choose from. My conclusion: Meat is delicious. Sauce selection is very limited. I would recommend expanding the selection to four sauces; that's not modern cuisine anymore. A few lemon wedges would also be a real improvement. I'm happy to spend €2-3 more, because you just have to look around to see what other restaurants are doing for the same price these days. But as it is, I'll give the restaurant another chance just by ordering it from the menu and see if it lives up to the recommendations of my fellow diners.

For me, the Ziegenbuche is one of the top restaurants in Bad Münder and the surrounding area. First-class cuisine, very friendly staff (always available but not intrusive), family-friendly, clean restrooms for all ages, a magnificent view, and even an indoor play area and outdoor playground. All in all, perfect!

We were there as rehabilitation guests of the nearby clinic. The view is incredibly beautiful, and you can spend a long time on the grounds, as there are also goats to feed and pet, and a playground. The food was delicious, and the kitchen is very flexible when it comes to dietary restrictions. There's always an alternative; you just have to ask. We had asparagus and cake from the extensive menu. The restaurant is suitable for a simple coffee, as well as for lunch and dinner. We would be happy to come back anytime. Thank you very much!

Yesterday we went to the breakfast buffet with my birthday guests at the Ziegenbuche mountain inn and were absolutely thrilled! The selection of food was very large, everything was delicious and despite the large number of visitors, everything was always refilled quickly. An extremely good price-performance ratio. Ausflugslokal mit ehrlicher guter Küche. Toller aufmerksamer Service, nettes Ambiente, was will man mehr? Vom Gastraum hat man einen tollen Blick. Es gibt hausgemachte Kuchen und Torten, leckere Wildgerichte und Schnitzel. Es gibt auch immer eine fleischfreie Variante, alles in allem hatten wir viel Spaß und kommen gerne mal wieder. Dankeschön auch fürs Feuerzeug. 😋

I was there for lunch today (so I can't say anything about the rooms). Was given a very friendly welcome with my two large dogs and was assigned a table with a wonderful view. The steak was perfectly medium and absolutely delicious, as were the onions and the fries. Price-performance suits me. The staff is very nice and accommodating. Conclusion: Everything is highly recommended!

Delicious, home-style cuisine. I had chicken strips with rice and pear. My husband had schnitzel with mushroom sauce. There was salad from the buffet. Nice atmosphere and very nice, courteous service staff. Gladly again.

After a cycling and hiking tour, we stopped at the Ziegenbuche with our Nienstedt club for a social get-together. We were warmly welcomed and a small, lovingly designed menu was made especially for us. Wonderfully fast and attentive service, great food and the beautiful panoramic view rounded off our visit. A visit here is always worth it.

After exactly 60 years, on August 7, 2024, I was back in this beautiful scenic spot for the first time with my wife (after we moved to this region). We wanted to have lunch first, then go for a walk, then come back for coffee and maybe have dinner too. We sat with a number of older people on the upper, covered terrace at lunchtime and enjoyed the wonderful view and the peace and quiet that prevailed in this place, which was why we had come here in the first place. In the final phase of our lunch, two obviously pregnant young women with two small children (boy and girl), about two years old, sat down at another table not far from my wife and me. As soon as they arrived, the children began to climb onto the chairs, crawl under them and under the dining table, constantly shouting loudly, even screaming again and again. Meanwhile, the two mothers talked animatedly and without any reaction to the terror that their obviously completely unmannered offspring were inflicting - no admonition, nothing. There was also no reaction to a number of “evil looks” from other guests... In order to avoid a spectacular scandal, I refrained from loudly criticizing this almost unbearable spectacle, because that would undoubtedly have provoked an "atmospheric" scandal, and the resulting anger would have caused even more unrest among the other guests. That's why we preferred to flee this place of "terror" as quickly as possible. We decided not to go back for coffee - to a place where two trouble-making, screaming toddlers were allowed to terrorize 18 older people seeking peace and quiet who were also sitting on the said terrace. This terror was a highly impressive, acoustic example of anti-authoritarian education - albeit in a completely wrong environment. It seemed strange to us that no one from the staff put an end to the generally annoying spectacle by reprimanding them, which I consider to be a very important failure on the part of management to give appropriate instructions to their staff. Or will this place represent the philosophy "here everyone can do and shout whatever and however they want"...? Without this ruckus, I would have given the Ziegenbuche inn 4 gold stars in every respect, but with regard to the - unchecked - noise described above, I rate the management regarding the apparently officially tolerated ruckus situation with 5 black stars! Today we stopped by the group for his birthday. The dining room on the ground floor is very echoey and uncomfortable and the service is very loud. You felt very directed. Drinks and food very tasty. Yesterday I was in the Ziegenbuche from 6:30 p.m. There was an asparagus buffet for which you had to register in advance. On my first course to the asparagus buffet I was able to get hold of 3 lukewarm asparagus sticks and 1 asparagus ham dumplings and 2 potatoes and cold hollandaise sauce. There were still plenty of chicken breasts that looked very dry. The second course to the buffet looked similarly clear. Unfortunately, I never got to see the baked asparagus. The asparagus was the firmest I've ever eaten. I was very disappointed with the buffet and still hungry, so we went to McDonald's afterwards. The staff was very friendly. But the friendly staff and the good view don't make up for the economical buffet.

The Ziegenbuche restaurant offers a great range of very tasty dishes in a very special location. With an excellent view over Bad Münder and the Süntel to Hameln you can really enjoy the food. The menu is very balanced and all the dishes ordered were very tasty. The range of cakes is extensive and simply great. The service is excellent, fast and friendly. The prices are very reasonable.

Wer tatsächlich an einem Pfingstmontag (!) geschlossen hat, wohl weil montags und dienstags immer Ruhetag ist, der hat nicht verstanden, was Gastfreundlichkeit ist und wird in aller Arroganz eingehen. Damit habt ihr uns als Kunden verloren, euch scheint es wahrlich zu gut zu gehen

We were lucky enough to get a table for an hour and a half on the coveted terrace. You have a fantastic view there. The service was perfect 👌 we asked several times whether everything was OK or whether we had any further requests. The food was very good. We can recommend it and will come back.😎

Quick service and delicious food (in this case asparagus with a side dish). If you want, you can work off your meal beforehand by parking at the bottom of the main road and walking up the entire, constantly ascending route. Always enjoy coming here! 🤗

We went to the Ziegenbuche for coffee. The ambience is quite nice, but not everything. Coffee was only lukewarm and the cake didn't taste like anything, it was just sweet. Apart from the fact that there was little choice of cakes. I also think prices are very high. A pity. More appearance than reality. Not again

Small selection, but good in a beautiful setting

The location of the inn, with its view of the Weserbergland and the Süntel, is phenomenal, the "KöPi" is delicious, but the menu is lean. Why not goat meat? Where I come from, the Mussulman is not native and is still in the minority, but local restaurateurs here occasionally buy goat stocks from animal parks/enclosures and use them, for example according to Caribbean tradition, to conjure up menus that are suspicious of a star chef. Just have the courage to act.😉

There is really delicious food here. Everything freshly prepared. People here are very child-friendly, nice and accommodating. Unfortunately the weather wasn't so good, otherwise you could have enjoyed a wonderful view of the area from the terrace. We will happily enjoy the food here again. Very suitable for families with children as there is also a playground.

Schade das man ohne Reservierung nur nach unten einen Platz an der Wand zugeteilt bekommt. Das war früher netter, da man einen Platz selbst wählen konnte.

... good views in sunny weather; good parking (but with a steep climb to the farm). We were here for a funeral service: sandwiches ok, cake too. Coffee was hot, but after just two cups the participants were exhausted: the thermos flasks were not refilled... Very unusual; but just professional restoration...

We were guests at the mountain inn on February 17th and had a really nice evening. We especially remember the staff positively. Friendly, funny and attentive. The food was also really tasty. I ordered the large Rösti with strips of pork fillet in mushroom cream, which was really beautifully presented. It was just a shame that there was a convenience product hidden behind the large Rösti [two larger frozen Rösti]. The salad that was served with it was great! Not simple iceberg lettuce but a mixture of cabbage, cucumber and classic salad with dressing - really good. We will definitely stop by the inn again on our next trip to the area.
