Essen 10/10, Personal 12/10 … wer überragende deutsche Küche sucht ist hier absolut richtig. Selbst die Kinderspeisen sind eine 10/10. wer herkommt muss die Bratensoße probieren, egal mit was.

Überragendes Essen, Mega nettes personal, sehr kinderfreundlich und gemütlich. Hat uns absolut gecatched. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder.

Ich war zum ersten Mal in der alten Säge und bin total begeistert. Habe lange nicht mehr so gut gegessen. Die Frau im Service war sehr freundlich. Wir saßen im Biergarten und ich finde ihn wirklich Mega schön. Was mir als Hundehalterin ebenfalls sehr zusagt, Hunde sind nicht nur erlaubt sondern willkommen. Die alte Säge unterstützt so wie ich gesehen habe auch den Hundetierschutz. Ganz toll!! Werde defintiv wieder kommen!

Wir waren mit zwei Familien dort, insgesamt 10 Personen, davon 6 Kinder, und saßen im Außenbereich. Es war wirklich alles super: Das Essen war sehr lecker, die Wartezeiten waren angenehm kurz und der Service war klasse. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und wurden sehr freundlich betreut. Für Familien absolut empfehlenswert. Aus unserer Sicht definitiv besser als 4,5 Sterne!

Service absolut freundlich, hilfsbereit, freundschaftlich liebenswert! Essen ist ein Gaumenschmaus. Wir haben sehr gut gegessen. Das Essen war nicht nur frisch sondern auch liebevoll auf dem Teller trapiert. Auch ein Augenschmaus. Wir werden gerne wieder kommen.

Wir waren im "Alte Säge" essen – und ehrlich gesagt: Wir wären am liebsten direkt eingezogen 😄 Das Jägerschnitzel war nicht nur extrem lecker, sondern auch riesig – genau so, wie man sich das wünscht. Dazu die selbstgemachten Spätzle… einfach perfekt. Man merkt sofort, dass hier mit Liebe gekocht wird. Als Nachtisch gab es einen Affogato – und der hat dem Ganzen die Krone aufgesetzt. Einfach richtig gut! Besonders beeindruckt hat uns, dass wir trotz vollem Restaurant überhaupt nicht lange warten mussten. Die Bedienungen waren super freundlich, aufmerksam und einfach total angenehm – so fühlt man sich direkt willkommen. Und ein riesiger Pluspunkt: die Lautstärke! Endlich mal ein Restaurant, in dem man sich ganz entspannt unterhalten kann, ohne sich anzuschreien. Kein „Bahnhof-Feeling“, sondern eine richtig gemütliche Atmosphäre. Fazit: Essen top, Service top, Ambiente top – wir kommen definitiv wieder… auch wenn unsere Figur vielleicht etwas dagegen hat 😄

Bei den Portionen darf man keinen Hunger haben, wie z.B. bei den Ravioli. Schön angerichtet, aber höchstens als Vorspeise

Ein sehr gemütliches Restaurant. Das Essen ist sehr lecker und egal ob Fleisch, Fisch oder vegetarische Gerichte- hier kommt jeder auf seine Kosten. Für uns besonders schön: auch Kinder sind gerne gesehen (Spielecke, Bücher, etc). Selbst Hunde dürfen jederzeit mit. Gerade am Wochenende empfiehlt sich allerdings ein wenig Geduld. Aus unserer Sicht immer im Rahmen, aber manche haben es eben auch beim Essen eilig.

Wir zu einer kleinen Feier da mit 10 Personen. Ich kann hier nur sagen, daß ich noch nie so schlecht gegessen habe. Hatte ein Holzfällersteak bestellt und bekam ein paniertes Schnitzel mit einem Spiegelei drüber. Kann das Lokal nicht weiter empfehlen.

Wir waren zum Familien Weihnachtsessen dort. Das Essen war bei allen in Ordnung, dennoch nichts besonderes. Einmal wurde ein Essen ohne Sauce bestellt, allerdings mit Sauce serviert. Nach dem Hinweis „es wurde ohne Sauce bestellt“ war die Antwort vom Service „dass da immer etwa Sauce dabei ist“. Leider haben wir auch nur ein Getränk bekommen. Anschließend kam niemand mehr und wir konnten niemand an der Theke abfangen

Wir hatten hier gestern unsere Weihnachtsfeier. Zuerst einmal muss gesagt sein, wir hatten das Essen vorab ausgesucht. Salat für alle. Hauptgerichte gab es vier verschiedene zur Auswahl und eine Nachspeise für alle. Reserviert war auf 19:00 Uhr. Die Dame im Service war alleine. Es gab außer uns noch zwei große, belegte Tische . Der Salat kam erst auf nachfragen endlich um 20:30, da war die Laune beim Chef und der Belegschaft schon im Keller. Das Hauptgericht wurde geschlagene 40 Minuten später serviert, Beilagen extra auf den Tisch...hier kam dann die Bedienung nicht ein einziges Mal um zu fragen wie es schmeckt und ob man nochmal Beilagen benötigt... Das Essen an sich war warm und lecker aber die Wartezeit ist eine Katastrophe. Die Bedienung war trotz Stress freundlichen aber um guten Service zu bieten sollte hier nochmals jemand eingestellt werden..

We were pleasantly surprised! The friendly staff took great care of us and our little dog. The wine recommendation was excellent, and the food was very good. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. We'd love to come back.

This was our first time here, and definitely not our last! :) The food was absolutely delicious. There was no long wait, and special requests were accommodated without hesitation. Coloring materials were provided for the children. There's also a play area, which our kids loved. All in all, it was a lovely, relaxing evening for everyone. Excellent service.

The food was excellent! The waitress told me that all the sauces were gluten-free, which meant they could offer almost all dishes gluten-free (except, of course, burgers, etc.). The pork medallions in a creamy mushroom sauce with grilled vegetables and salad were tender, incredibly delicious, and the portion was generous. And as for the gluten: I tolerated my meal very well.

We had reserved a table in advance just in case, but at our arrival time (5:00 PM) it was still quiet. Although another table was probably meant for us, we were given a more spacious table at short notice because of our children. The menu and children's menu were brought quickly, and drinks were taken, which were also brought promptly. The starter, a carpaccio, and the children's meal were brought at the same time, which was good for us. The carpaccio was beautifully presented and very tasty. The main courses then arrived in a smooth transition. We had rump steak and roast beef with onions. Both were cooked to perfection, with great meat, a delicious sauce, and croquettes were also great. A small mistake in the kitchen was promptly corrected, so everything was fine. The atmosphere with the rustic decor is very inviting. Highly recommended! We'll be back.

I was on my way home with my dog when it started to rain, so I went in. At first, I just wanted a drink, but then I stayed for the food. The dog was immediately served water first. The food was delicious, the staff very friendly, and the atmosphere pleasant.

As always, the super friendly service is worth highlighting. Such great hospitality is rare. Keep it up! Dogs are also very welcome here, which is nice that it's not just a statement. The food was also very good. Tender meat, crisp vegetable side dishes. Everything was top-notch. I'm a shame, though, that they no longer serve fried potatoes. We'd love to come back. In summary, a rustic atmosphere, with great service and great food!

Today, five of us good friends went to the Alte Säge to spend a lovely evening. The restaurant is right on the street, but the parking at the rear makes it a very relaxed place to visit. The time of year (winter) didn't allow for a seat in the cozy beer garden, so we sat inside. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a very pleasant ambiance. We really enjoyed everything. The food was once again delicious and plentiful. The service was also excellent and very friendly. It's the little things that make a visit memorable: the friendly and helpful advice, the funny jokes, but always the polite manner. It was a very lovely evening. We'd love to come back here! ;) Today, after our 250km motorcycle tour, we had a non-alcoholic shandy. It was good. As always, we felt warmly welcomed, and the service was polite, friendly, and quick. Thank you very much!

I can only recommend it. It's a small restaurant, but the service and food are great. A fantastic atmosphere. We had a communion celebration on Sunday.

Food was generally good, side salad (it was definitely not market salad) was perhaps... out of the bag because there was a small blue plastic particle in it. Salad was garnished with tomato and cucumber. Schnitzel (very thin, but very large) Otherwise everything was good, also served with nice dishes and knives, but it's a shame that you can't see that the heads of the flowers are hanging on all the tables. I think a table decoration is very nice, when you enter the restaurant, you rarely see it in restaurants, but withered ones don't look that great, so it's better to get rid of them. But overall it was good. Hopefully you can keep the old saw going for a long time, as it is and should remain a great restaurant😍

It was my first time in the old saw. Something inconspicuous and modern from the outside, rustic and cozy from the inside. The service was good, although we had to wait a little longer, but we were still served very friendly. A meal was forgotten and arrived at the table a little late. The map is manageable, it's okay, but it won't blow anyone away. You could do more!!! The taste is good, but it could be better, especially with the schnitzel, without sauce and salad, very dry!!! The old saw spritz as an aperitif, I would also spice it up a bit visually, a bit boring. The taste was good. Conclusion: you can definitely eat there!!!

10/20/24 The Portuguese steak tasted very good. There is nothing to complain about/criticize. Salmon in dumplings is, in my opinion, a challenge that I don't think the chef was entirely successful with. To me the fish was overcooked which made it seem dry and almost tasteless in the dumplings. Something like that can happen. Even if it wasn't quite as good, we were generally satisfied. Because the service was good, very friendly and nice. 01/06/24 Star deserved. Real menu (not the emergency menu before the summer holidays what is understandable; but our organizer kept this information secret the last time) and everything is better. We ate very well and a lot. We also had our food very quickly. The drink replenishment also worked well this time. My lumberjack schnitzel was very good, even the onion roast that I tried was quite good. The service was also friendly and nice. Except for one small thing, completely satisfied. Great improvement from the last time. 08/19 The restaurant gets the chance to do better after the vacation. It only gets 4 stars now because I wasn't quite as satisfied. The star deduction because you have already switched to vacation mode. So there was In the nice garden restaurant Unfortunately, ONLY a reduced menu (but it's understandable). The waitresses were friendly and nice, but no longer quite on their toes. Eight of us sat in the garden restaurant. Everything was still within acceptable limits, but drinks were forgotten, no one came and asked, and it took a little longer to clear up. At these temperatures you usually drink more but we have to divide up our drinks because no one comes over anymore. Then my food: (Jägerschnitzel with spaetzle) Well, everyone does it differently. You get a breaded turkey schnitzel with mushroom sauce. This one was very juicy and good. But breaded and turkey. The price-performance ratio. Even if the schnitzel was now very large and good. But breaded, turkey and a little too little sauce. (we had to share a bowl between two people) I accepted the price including the salad, but without it I think it was slightly higher. The other dishes looked good and were reportedly quite good too. Despite the small deficiencies, I can recommend the restaurant. She gets 33 v 45 points (S-8/E-12/O-13)

We were at the Alte Säge last week and we will definitely go again. From the telephone contact to the personal one, it was very nice. The food was really great and the many small details in the restaurant fit the atmosphere perfectly.

We celebrated our wedding here on January 25th, 2025. From the organization to the food and the service, everything was perfect. All of our wishes were taken into account in advance and everything was implemented the way we wanted. The food was simply great and all of our guests really enjoyed it. After so many good reviews, I can only hope that today was the worm. The staff was friendly, but rarely appeared. We initially had to wait longer for the menu and over an hour for the food. Unfortunately the starter was canceled because we ran out of salad. The main course tasted very good, but the gravy was too salty. The ambience is nice and it always flashes through that things can be much better here. It didn't convince us today (perhaps staff were unavailable?), if we're back in the area there's a second chance.

This evening the four of us had dinner at the Alte Säge. It was our first time there and we were really impressed. Very nice and courteous staff. Food came very quickly and at the same time. We had, among other things, schnitzel and onion roast and dessert. Just a small note, for which we don't deduct a star, that an excessive amount of parsley was sprinkled everywhere and on every meal and also on the ketchup and mayo dips, that wasn't necessary at all, it would have looked great even without it, and the cheese spaetzle can use more cheese tolerated ;) keep it up, we'll be happy to come back!

The food was great – fresh, tasty and prepared with love. You can tell that great emphasis is placed on quality here. The service was also great: friendly, attentive and warm. We felt completely comfortable. Overall, a wonderful evening. We will definitely be back and can only recommend the Alte Säge!

We were there to eat lumberjack schnitzel, very kind and hospitable treatment, very great service. (Even with a dog it wasn't a problem.) The food was super tasty and it certainly wasn't the last meal there. Thank you for a great evening with very good food.

We were 4 people and were welcomed and served very friendly. :-) The food was perfect. Both the salmon in dumplings and two rump steaks, each with different cooking times perfectly implemented. In this way, praise again to the kitchen. The only drawback: it was very warm that day and a fan would be a suggestion for improvement inside. Update: The restaurant is still an absolute recommendation. Individual needs (for older people) were also addressed flexibly. The food (3x rump steak) was perfect. We had another great family trip and enjoyed it.

Our spontaneous lunch was a very pleasant experience because everything was just right here. Unfortunately, I experience this less and less often because the good companies close because they can't find anyone who wants to work hard. But good performance in the catering industry is not possible without sound training and dedication. In this company you even get the impression that not only the guests but also the employees are happy. A big compliment to the service and kitchen staff - and to the management!

Had a family dinner on a Friday evening with a group of 9 people. The food was super tasty and the atmosphere is also very nice. Super recommended for vegetarians as there are quite a few food options to choose from. Great for a visit with children, there are some toys available here. Can only recommend the restaurant. We'd love to come back!

One of the few inns with regional cuisine that are still open during the day. Atmosphere cozy, staff friendly and the food tasty, what more could you want. We had the 2 Maultaschen in gravy with a salad buffet for €15.50. Recommended.

Spontaneous action: old saw Saturday evening, after 7 p.m. and without a reservation, despite the house being full, we received a friendly welcome and a place was found for us. ☺️ Super friendly staff and very attentive. Drinks were at the table quite quickly. Side salad was fresh and tasty. We were completely satisfied with our food. Portions were sufficient. The waiting time for the food was perfectly fine. (I've already experienced it differently) Nothing stands in the way of a next visit😉

Actually only discovered by chance, but more than “just” satisfied. The atmosphere is great The service is very friendly, nice and accommodating but unobtrusive. The menu is clear and all the dishes we have eaten so far were very well prepared and tasted very good. Everyone in the restaurant is very child friendly. The prices are reasonable. I can really recommend it and look forward to my next visit!

We celebrated our "small" civil wedding there. There were 33 of us and we were ALL completely satisfied and thrilled. The families with small children loved how well the staff treated the children and the families with dogs were thrilled with how they treated the dogs. The communication in advance was very good and very accommodating. The decoration was implemented exactly as we wanted. The food was great! Unfortunately, I got an almost raw beef steak, which on top of that counted so much waiting that I couldn't eat it. The sauce was too salty. My wife's steak wasn't any better either. The marinade for the salad wasn't good either. I will no longer enter this restaurant. 👎

Yesterday we went to the old saw for the first time. The food was really TOP, the waitresses were very attentive and friendly. It is very comfortable both inside and outside.

We spontaneously went to the Alte Säge after a lovely mountain bike tour on the Hörnle/Lochentrail. The food was really excellent: the composition of the dishes, the quality of the ingredients and the perfect preparation (fresh, crunchy vegetables, delicately seasoned sauces and dressing), everything was perfect. An absolute culinary highlight. Very friendly service! Thank you very much for this experience, we would love to come back!

Great restaurant. The food is very good. I'm a big fan of vegetarian ravioli. But the meat and fish dishes are also sensational. Work is done with great attention to detail. Children are welcome and always have something to keep them busy.

Hello everyone. First I'll briefly look at everything and then draw a conclusion. The welcome from the staff was very friendly. We had reserved, but the assigned table was a bit cramped. When we asked, we were offered something else without any major effort, which was very welcome. Staff: friendly, eloquent and always ready. By the way, permanently! 👍 Food: Delivered to the table quickly after ordering and in very good quality. When I asked, this was confirmed several times by all participants. A meal was delayed a little for unknown reasons, but to compensate we were offered a digestif/choice of ice cream or espresso or... afterwards. All in all a successful evening. I am very pleased.
