I just finished my Pizza Napoli (with delicious Milanese salami on top) and it was pretty much perfect! The mixed appetizer platter is also highly recommended! Now I just have to decide which dessert to treat myself to...😂 The ambiance is very elegant and the service is friendly and attentive. Just what you want. Definitely a top recommendation!

The Italian restaurant Al Lago is located on Werder Island in the Havel River, overlooking the lake. There's parking and a lovely beer garden. The extensive menu offers a wide selection of food and drinks. The service is accommodating to individual requests. We were even able to charge our phone. The island has two churches and beautiful paths, so it's worth stopping for a while.

Beautiful location with a side water view, and a pleasant outdoor area. The food isn't spectacular, but it's perfectly fine.

Our experience at this Italian restaurant was, unfortunately, disappointing overall. The food arrived relatively cold, and when we complained, the waiter simply told us to touch the plate, saying they were the experts, not us—even though the pasta and pizzas were indeed cold. After the waitress admitted that the pizzas had been sitting in the counter for a long time, we were given new ones. The service was generally unfriendly, with tunnel vision and constant idleness, even though there was plenty to do. The portions were very small, and the prices were completely overpriced for what you got. An extra pepperoni on the pizza (1!) cost €2. Salmon pasta tasted like nothing at all for €17.50! What was particularly irritating was that the waitress drank with guests several times during our time there (3 shots at different tables in 1.5 hours), and we saw her smoking around the corner without washing her hands afterward. By the end, she was quite drunk. When we finally gave a reason not to tip, all we got was eye rolls and no apologies. I don't know how the reviews here are so good.

The quality-price ratio isn't convincing. I've rarely paid so much for such poor food. Perhaps that's because it's truly an Albanian restaurant. I don't recommend it.

We celebrated our wedding here. Mimo, the boss, and his staff were always there for us and gave their all, even when not all of our guests were the easiest.

Al Lago didn't impress me. The tomato sauces were bland and the portions were too small. The service was unpleasantly bossy ("Now, everyone, bring your plates"). I'd rather eat somewhere else.

We had also reserved a table for Saturday evening, August 16th. It worked perfectly when we arrived. The problem here was actually finding a parking space nearby. After a lot of patience, and after someone else had left, I finally got one at the back near the sports fields. We were also well seated outside under the parasols. And as is often the case, everyone wants to sit outside in such beautiful weather, with a beer 🍺, coffee, or 🍧 ice cream garden. That's why, later, when I walked around inside, I realized that almost no one was sitting there... So, when I returned from looking for a parking space, the staff had already quickly served us a drink 🥤. Shortly afterward, we were able to report our choices from the extensive menu to the head waiter. Now, I'd like to say something about this gentleman here today. He was nice and friendly, and calmly attended to all our requests. and typed them into his digital order book. Later, we were able to observe, among other things, how diligently he was serving his guests. In summary, I can say that I have never experienced such a fast-paced restaurant employee as him. He was constantly checking things out, giving information, and at times even running! Later, I asked one of his colleagues where he was from. She said Morocco 🇲🇦... Another waiter also came to our table later to have a chat. He was able to announce that he's usually a waiter, but today he had to step in as a chef 👩‍🍳 because one of the regular chefs had fallen ill at very short notice. So, it seems like there's a team at work here all the time, working hard and being there for each other. Our 5-year-old even got a bowl full of ice cubes upon request. I don't need to comment on the full plates and the delicious taste of the food. Other reviewers have already praised that enough. So, in conclusion, I can only wish the owners and staff good business and satisfied customers, like we were!! 🤔🧐👌😄👍

It was simply wonderful... Last evening of our vacation in Werder. The perfect meal in the setting sun at the Al Lago restaurant. 😋

We've been here several times and have always been largely satisfied, so we were looking forward to this visit as well. This time, however, things didn't go quite as smoothly: Instead of the red wine we ordered, we were served a white wine, with the comment that they were doing us a favor. The gesture was kind, but we would have liked our order to be honored. Unfortunately, the asparagus dishes didn't arrive piping hot, and some of the asparagus was a bit woody, possibly not quite fresh. We also found the comment that there was more asparagus on the plate today because they weren't busy a bit unfortunate – quality is more important to us than quantity. The pizza tasted okay. As a small compensation, we were offered a Sambuca – a friendly gesture, although it would have been nice to have asked beforehand, as not all of us drink alcohol. We generally hold the restaurant in very high regard and hope that our feedback will be seen as constructive. We look forward to the usual standard on our next visit.

Always happy to come back. Great staff and delicious food. I come here at least once a year.

The proximity to water is now a price to pay for average food. The pizza, although baked in a stone oven, appears to be a normal size, but it's too dry and cluttered for my taste. The steak doesn't even come with a salad. Prices have been raised, for example, €16 for a pizza. A relatively small rump steak with a few pieces of carrot and a few small potatoes costs over €25. We've had better food in terms of quality and quantity.

Extremely unfriendly waitress. She complains about her colleagues in front of the guests. While setting the table, she hit us three times with her hand, and instead of apologizing, she just replied with a blunt "Are you okay?" So we didn't even order more food, as our mood plummeted after the waitress's behavior. Clearly a failure of her job. We were here last time.

We went for lunch two days ago and were served very nicely by our waiter, Marco. Everything was perfect: the ambiance, the food, the great tango music, the weather—it was like a vacation!

We received a warm welcome for a late lunch and were seated on the terrace. Wonderful antipasti for two with a salad topped with homemade seafood. All fresh and delicious.

Very nice and highly recommended! We went here for dinner twice during our vacation. The welcome was always warm, and we immediately felt welcome! Our dishes were, in our opinion, "typically Italian" – finally, a real, authentic "Spaghetti Carbonara"! (Only those who cook it themselves, like me, know what I'm talking about!) The ambiance outside by the water was also very nice; we had two wonderful evenings at the "Restaurant Al Lago"!

Highly recommended!! Super fun and friendly staff. We picked up food around 8 p.m. in the evening and received a free pizza (which was very reasonable for the price, by the way) and a free baguette. If you go in with children, they're always offered a small lollipop. So definitely go there for dinner.

This is my second time in Werder. I ate here for the first time and I was thrilled! I wouldn't be lying if I said it's the best pizza I've ever eaten! The staff is also super friendly and accommodating!! I've been here for the second day in a row and I'm currently waiting for my pizza. I'm curious to see if it's this good again! Was there for the third time and found it only semi-good. Both pizza and pasta were bland and I had to add more seasoning. The high prices are maximally justified by the location. My companion's order was recorded incorrectly, but then kept and billed by the service. The dish was twice as expensive as what I actually ordered. The service seems fake to me and even intrusive. I can hardly describe it but I found it rather unpleasant.

Located directly on the Havel, I was able to dine on the terrace when the weather was good. Despite the full house, the friendly service was quick with the order. Even though my pasta with prawns (in one piece) wasn't anything special, the atmosphere and ambience were still very good. I was very satisfied. Attention: Drink prices are very high....😀
