When I was in the restaurant for the first time, there was one little thing that wasn't what I imagined. The second time I was there to try the same thing again, I was amazed. Today's roast is full of love and doesn't miss out on anything. The head chef is different than I initially expected - I am more than just a strong leader. He manages to combine the energy of the entire kitchen with the right kind of humor and expertise. A well-rehearsed team full of passion and ambition who bring the overall result of the kitchen to your plate to your absolute satisfaction. Seeing the effort and the result as a visual comparison unleashes pure respect. I can't say anything negative about the food, it's just great. I think I'll leave it at that because my vocabulary doesn't allow me to delve deeper into the topic. Big praise for the leadership style and the courage to prove a random guy from the internet wrong about what he had previously said and thought. The ambience has to be experienced to be believed. The perfect use for the restaurant: 1. Celebrating Swabian high-gloss food on a perfect birthday with your hometown family. If you are young and want to take your parents or grandparents out, this is where grandma and grandpa's childhood memories come back. Gruss des Hauses- an unserem Tisch Fehlanzeige. Merkwürdig. Man musste eine abgewetzte Treppe hochkraxeln um dann in einem engen Raum am Tisch Platz zu nehmen. Stühle rücken, damit andere Gäste sich an einem vorbei schieben konnten. Die Speisekarte schwer zu lesen, da Schummriges Licht. Niedrige Deckenhöhe- schlechte Luft. Das Essen meiner Meinung nach überteuert. Rostbraten mit Sauce für 36€. Dazu Bratkartoffeln, die eher wie frittierte Chips aussahen. Gemüse- Beilage- Fehlanzeige.

A beautiful old restaurant - a steep staircase leads into the restaurant where the usual “wait to be seated”. The table we got was good - the legroom was a bit limited due to the "old table" but a very harmonious atmosphere The food was excellent - every dish was beautifully prepared and with attention to detail. At the beginning we had to wait a long time before we could even order the aperitif - hence a star deduction for the service.

What was once a good home-style restaurant with perfect Swabian cuisine has become a tried-and-tested modern restaurant with mixed cuisine. Let's start with the setup. First of all, the restaurant was heated a few degrees too little. The new lamps are at such a height that the lamps are blinding. The plastic flowers are unnecessary, either right or not at all and the Christmas decorations can now go too. The music being played now is boring and doesn't fit the ambience. The new service staff are trying hard, but everything seems a little chaotic, uncoordinated and too cold. It seems as if the kitchen is causing this and sending the food out in such an uncoordinated manner that the service staff are in a tailspin. We weren't offered bread to go with the spreads, but the guests at the other tables were. We were also not asked if we would like something to drink again. The waiting times are unacceptable. Now let's get to the food. The soup was very good, with not enough pancakes. The salad was a little small for €14 and not well prepared either. The sauce wasn't spread on the bottom of the salad, there was no sign of the green apple, but otherwise it was OK overall. The main course was sea bass with bouchot mussels with crustacean stock and saffron, fennel and fregola sada. First of all the good, the Fregola Sparda is great. There were no Bouchot mussels, but there were scallops, which were a little too glassy and the sea bass was too dry. There was clearly not enough of the fennel and the crustacean broth to be seen, and there was hardly any taste of the saffron. At the next table a guest had the same thing and I have to say, here too the arrangement was completely different and the fennel and the crustacean stock were visible. The meat on the onion roast was great - but unfortunately there was far too much fat on the rind, the sauce, which was OK, was well intended on our plate, but less so on others and now comes the worst thing you can do. The supposedly hand-scraped spaetzle are far too doughy and not fluffy, too little egg, they are more like boy spaetzle that are too long. Spaetzle must be fine!!!! Please practice again. Otherwise write Sparrows on it. We had also complained about this and apparently it was the first time that your spaetzle had been criticized. What we saw was that spaetzle was left at all the tables. The dessert, supposedly ice cream - well more like an ice cream mousse. Disappointing in taste. The double espresso had far too little crema and aroma. The bottom line is that we have to say that we won't be back any more quickly, because for so much money and such chaos and no highlights in terms of taste, that's out of the question for us. We can eat better ourselves at home. We don't spend so much money abroad. There are enough other restaurants so that you can leave feeling satisfied. Hopefully the new owner will quickly learn from his mistakes and improve. It means well, but everything is still not harmonious. The new owner cannot come close to the quality of the service, which was warm and friendly, and the high-quality food, where you experienced a taste explosion, a real palate sex and everything was harmonious, from the previous owner. It's really a great place, everything on the menu is prepared with a lot of love and I particularly liked the Swabian dishes. The historical ambience and the cozy atmosphere make the visit something special. The staff was friendly and helped a lot with the recommendations too Wine list is impressive I have never experienced anything like it before. A reservation is definitely necessary as the restaurant is small but very inviting, thank you very much.

Unsere hohen Erwartungen wurden nicht wirklich erfüllt. Der Rostbraten wurde als der beste angepriesen, den wir je hatten. Nun, davon war das durchwachsene Stück Fleisch mit viel zu wenig Zwiebeln und die in Fett schwimmenden Bratkartoffeln leider meilenweit entfernt. Sehr gut waren die Vorspeisen. Bei denen passt auch das Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis. Den Service haben wir als nicht besonders aufmerksam empfunden, teilweise waren die Wartezeiten sehr lang. Wir hatten leider auch einen sehr ungemütlichen Tisch erwischt, bei dem wir so weit auseinander saßen, dass ein Gespräch kaum geführt werden konnte.

After the change of ownership, the menu is of course different. The food should now be a mixture of upscale cuisine and yet home-style. In my opinion the concept works moderately. The staff was so friendly. However, the waiting time for the food was a bit long. Especially between the starter and the main course. The food tastes good (taste is always subjective), but for the price category in my opinion. after too little. Unfortunately, we (group of 4 people) were only served lukewarm. The hazelnut spaetzle are a good idea, but they were only covered in ground hazelnuts. It would be more sophisticated to incorporate the hazelnuts into the spaetzle dough. The salad with chanterelles is currently available because the chanterelle season is over, with filled salad, but you couldn't tell from the quantity served. An adapted menu would be an advantage. There was a total lack of a season ticket. A season ticket (autumn/Christmas/spring/summer) would be a nice thing. All in all, you can of course eat quite well here. But of course everyone has to decide for themselves how they value what is on offer and the price/performance ratio.

The building is extremely cozy, and well renovated. The service was good. And they didnt harass us at all with questions, extremely professional. We had the Steak Rossini which i believe was the special of the day and it was scrumptious, the foie gras, mashed potatoes, steak and sauce were all cooked to perfection. The almost 50 Euros price point was high but worth it. We also had the Wiener schnitzel with fries. The fries were too oily/greasy and frankly disgusting. The schnitzel itself was clean and well cooked but a bit bland and felt unsalted.

Review of “Ackerbürger” The “Ackerbürger” impresses with its friendly service, generous portions and a good price-performance ratio. Particularly noteworthy is the cozy ambience, which offers a pleasant atmosphere for a relaxing evening. However, German dishes lack sophistication. Although the meat is cooked perfectly, the seasoning leaves a lot to be desired and attention to detail is often lacking. (roast roast) The spaetzle seems simple and lacks an aromatic note, such as nutmeg or pepper. The schnitzel also shows weaknesses in the breading, which is not as crispy and appealing as one would expect. The potato salad is fresh, but remains unspectacular - it lacks the final “kick” that could round off the meal. Interestingly, the cuisine shines when it comes to non-German dishes or sauces. The creative dips particularly stand out and show the potential of the kitchen team. It seems this is where the true strength of the menu and the chef's inspiration lies. Conclusion: A visit to the “Ackerbürger” is worth it for the ambience and the good service, but if you expect typical German dishes to perfection, you could easily be disappointed. However, the criticism is at a high level, because with a little more finesse and attention to detail the restaurant could develop its full potential and join the ranks of 5/5 star restaurants.

Yesterday I had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant and I have to say the food was simply outstanding! I haven't eaten so well in Stuttgart for a long time, and that's saying something because I often eat out. A big compliment to the entire team, especially to the kitchen, you really did a great job! The dishes were not only of the highest quality in terms of taste, but also beautifully prepared. The service was also excellent, attentive, friendly and professional. It was a completely successful evening. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special culinary experience in Stuttgart. I'm already looking forward to my next visit. My husband and I went there on my birthday. For the very high prices, I would have liked more individuality in the food. The quality of the food was good, but there was nothing special in the way it was served. For around 35 E a dish, I would have expected more The wine, on the other hand, was extremely good for my taste. Next door, "foie gras" was requested, which was also on the menu. A "no go" these days when we know how the animals "live" until their end. There was nothing on the menu for vegetarians. However, upon request, a dish was made that was good AND very expensive. The atmosphere in the old, beautiful, rustic house is great. All in all, I went to Ackerbürger with different expectations; I wanted it to be something special on my birthday. Unfortunately that wasn't it for me.

Addendum from November 18, 2024 Mr. Basar (owner) contacted us by phone, which we received positively. He inquired again and apologized for the problems that had arisen. He explained that the team is still young and has a lot of requests to deal with. I replied that of course this would only be a satisfactory explanation if all the guests at our table were affected and not just us. I would also like to take back my statement that he would only visit certain tables. Mr. Basar simply asked about an old friend at the other table and, according to his own statement, did not greet the other guests. There was also a sensible explanation for the heating: the heating pipe had broken. Mr. Basar invited us to visit the restaurant again at our own expense and give it a second chance. However, we would like to wait until the team gets used to it before we invest another 150 euros and test the restaurant again (hopefully without being disappointed with the service) (not available today). ------- Review from 11/11/2024 I visited the Ackerbürger, a place that is particularly close to my heart because I also celebrated my wedding here. Since the change in ownership, the quality of the food has noticeably improved (although it was excellent before), which we really appreciate. However, the service this time was a bitter disappointment. We were asked if it would be okay for the main course to arrive in 5-10 minutes. After a whopping 50 minutes of waiting, it actually arrived - and in the meantime other guests who arrived later were already being served. Several times the service walked past our table without even asking, while other guests were given preferential treatment. The chef also only welcomed selected tables. We ended up having to go to the front to pay ourselves after all the tables except ours had been served. I usually tip generously (15-20%), but unfortunately this time I couldn't justify even close to 1.7%. For a bill of around 155 euros for a starter, main course and dessert, the price-performance ratio would have been okay - if the service had been right. Unfortunately, we were not impressed by this visit overall and we probably won't be coming back for a while. Plus, at least where we were, it was extremely cold. But this should be remedied with a curtain.

Wie waren zu viert gestern im Ackerbürger zum Abendessen. Wir sind zwei Paare und haben den Abend im Ackerbürger absolut genossen. Der Beginn des Abends war ein wenig holprig, weil einige Gäste gleichzeitig um 19:00 im engen Gang ins Restaurant standen und warten mussten. Dies war der einzige Makel an dem Abend, der sehr spät geendet hat. Wir haben alle eine Vorspeise gegessen gehabt. Einmal einen hervorragenden Tatar vom deutschen Rinderfilet, zwei mal die sensationelle und geschmackvolle Can’s Krustentier Bouillabaisse und einen Kopfsalat & Wildkräuter, der ebenfalls geschmacklich top war. Als Hauptspeise wählten wir einmal, das nicht auf der Speisekarte aufgeführte, sehr geschmackvolle Rinderfilet „Rossini“ mit Gänseleber. Es war mega lecker und eine gute Wahl. Einmal wurde das Wiener Schnitzel vom Kalb bestellt, ausgezeichnetes Fleisch und mega gute Pommes. Zweimal haben wir Rehrücken gehabt, der ebenso hervorragend lecker war. Zum Dessert gab es ein sehr geschmackvolles selbst gemachtes Salzkaramell-Eis, eine überragende Schokoladen Tarte. Das Ambiente, der Service, die Location sind wirklich einmalig. Auffallend die Freundlichkeit des Service Personals, das trotz Unterbesetzung, keine Hektik und Ungemütlichkeit aufkommen ließ. Can kam des öfteren an unseren Tisch und wir hatten, genau wie mit den anderen Service Damen und Herren, einen kurzweiligen Abend und viel Spaß. Ein rundum gelungener Abend mit herausragendem Essen und Service. Wir werden auf alle Fälle wieder kommen.

The four of us had dinner at Ackerbürger yesterday. We are two couples and absolutely enjoyed the evening at Ackerbürger. The start of the evening was a little bumpy because some guests were standing in the narrow corridor into the restaurant at 7 p.m. and had to wait. This was the only downside to the evening, which ended very late. We all had an appetizer. Once an excellent tartare made from German beef fillet, twice the sensational and tasty Can's crustacean bouillabaisse and a lettuce & wild herbs, which also tasted great. For our main course we chose the very tasty beef fillet “Rossini” with goose liver, which was not listed on the menu. It was super tasty and a good choice. Once we ordered the Wiener Schnitzel from veal, excellent meat and really good fries. We had saddle of venison twice, which was equally delicious. For dessert there was a very tasty homemade salted caramel ice cream and an outstanding chocolate tart. The ambience, the service and the location are truly unique. What was striking was the friendliness of the service staff, who, despite being understaffed, did not cause any hecticness or discomfort. Can often came to our table and, just like with the other service ladies and gentlemen, we had an entertaining evening and a lot of fun. An all-round successful evening with outstanding food and service. Any time.

What a Gem in one of the oldest buildings in Stuttgart. As a fantasy and medieval Nerd the location set the right triggers. The menu offers from classical swabian dishes to a fine dining menu a wide range of culinarily experiences without having to much overwhelming stuff. I had the 5 course menu representing Cans experience in several top restaurants. The wine menu is rather small but with some good choices and will grow in future. The Service was friendly and I really appreciated that Stefan and his team asked after the third course if they should slow down with serving or keeping up the pace. Long story short - it was phenomenal from the Aperos to the Desert. Looking forward where the journey headed to.

When it comes to the interior design of the restaurant, not everything matches! An ancient and outdated building! The interior is quite small, the tables are exquisitely arranged, and then the vases with wilted flowers! A chic style that is completely out of place! The chef is so disheveled he looks like a kitchen helper! The cost of the food is simply too overpriced!!!

4 stars I have always been a big fan of the Ackerburger in Bad Cannstatt and am very satisfied with the food and service even after the change of ownership. The quality of the food remains excellent and the atmosphere is still pleasant and friendly. Unfortunately, I have to deduct a star because a few things have changed since the change of ownership. Unfortunately, the charming decoration and tableware that gave the restaurant its special character is no longer there. In addition, some of my favorite dishes are missing, e.g. the Ackerbürger-Pfännle on the map or were adjusted, which I think is a shame. Despite these small changes, Ackerburger remains a great place for delicious food in Bad Cannstatt, and I definitely still enjoy coming by.

Abgesehen von der alten, engen und abgenutzten Treppe vom Eingang nach oben zum Restaurant macht alles einen sehr sauberen und gepflegten Eindruck. in viel Eigenleistung ist ein Schmuckstück entstanden. Service ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und immer gut gelaunt. Bei den Speisen merkt man, dass Herr Basar in guten Häusern gut gelernt hat. Schön angerichtet, beste Qualität der Produkte und auf den Punkt zubereitet. Eben ein Genuss!! Weiter so.

Unsere Erwartungen an den Abend wurden sogar noch übertroffen. Eine wirklich tolle Location, das uralte Haus aus dem 16. Jh. versprüht eine Menge an Charme, gepaart mit einem supernetten und sehr aufmerksamen Kellner der uns liebevoll umsorgt hat. We were here on May 24th and we were completely thrilled, great value for money. Yesterday I made a reservation without checking the menu again; it has changed significantly after a change of operator in the summer. Nice atmosphere in the old building, the food was good, but €40 for a Wiener Schnitzel with a side salad and fries or cucumber salad was a bit excessive for me, we won't be coming back. For new guests: Please ignore the reviews before August 24, it is a different location, make up your own mind if necessary.

I had the pleasure of visiting the charming restaurant “zum Ackerbürger”, which offers a successful fusion of Swabian and French cuisine. The ambience is inviting and cozy, with rustic wooden furniture and stylish decoration that perfectly captures the character of Swabian cuisine. The menu offers a tempting selection. As a starter I tried the Cans Shellfish Bouillabaisse, which was wonderfully spicy and aromatic. I then decided on the “fried scallops” – a delicious combination of tender scallops served in a light Jerusalem artichoke cream. The service was friendly and attentive. The feeling that I was in a traditional restaurant never left me until the end. The wine list offers a good selection of regional wines that complement the dishes excellently. Overall, “zum Ackerbürger” is a wonderful place to enjoy the flavors of both cuisines. I can only warmly recommend this restaurant and am already looking forward to my next visit! And that will be tomorrow 😉

We had dinner in this place and both the food and the service were great! But I’ve read so many reviews and nobody seems to be talking about “the elephant in the room”! The rustic and beautiful-otherwise- ceiling, is full of woodworms!! They fall on the table every once in a while, they may fall on your head, in your plate, etc. In our case, it was at least six of them, two of them dived in my main course and were frantically trying to get out.. Initially it was part of the atmosphere but after a while, it was a bit too much.. It’s a pity to pay that much attention to food and service and let this happen at this extent.. I don’t know, I feel weird to have to put this in a review but they should figure out something to deal with this problem..

Super restaurant really blew me off my feet. The service is incredible one of the friendliest staff I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. The vibe is super cozy and the food absolutely fantastic. If you are ever looking for quality German food you have to check this place out. I would highly recommend getting a salad as a stater it was super delicious and as a main the Zwiebelrostbraten or Schnitzel (if you get this ask for some of the gravy on the side it’s perfect). And you can’t go wrong with any of the deserts my favorite was the chocolate tart with mango ice cream.

What can I say? Enjoyment at star level! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We were completely thrilled! An old half-timbered house full of a cozy atmosphere that carries the history of many years of gastronomy within itself and allows you to feel it, elegantly set tables with modern, fresh floral decorations, professional, fast and very attentive service (big praise to Stefan!), absolutely outstanding dishes and therefore a All around successful, enjoyable evening! For the main course I chose the beef fillet: I can assure you that it was the best meat I have ever eaten! The entire dish (with miso hollandaise, veal cheek ragout, smoked mashed potatoes and fresh young broccoli) was a fantastic treat that is truly second to none. I would like to mention the fresh, delicious salad as a starter and the delicious dessert (chocolate tart). The greeting from the kitchen, three kinds of delicious spreads including juicy bread with a fine but crispy crust, was also incredibly tasty! What Can, the new owner and chef of the long-established establishment, has conjured up here has turned out really great! Congratulations on this! He cooks incredibly well! This restaurant is a must for all food lovers and I bet that the first star won't be long in coming! There are definitely five ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ from me!

I became aware of the restaurant “Zum Ackerbürger” through the newspaper report, so I spent an unforgettable evening there with my girlfriend yesterday. The food was outstanding and you can see the craftsmanship of the new chef. I would particularly like to highlight the great service from Stefan. I recently went to Ackerbürger (Swabian fine cuisine) for dinner again for many, many years. I knew the place from my youth. Back then it was already considered a top address! To this day it has not lost its charm, service and excellent food. The menu reminded me of old times (positively) and we feasted in a small niche for two. Totally romantic and very suitable for the interior design of the Ackerbürger It certainly won't be tens of years before we come back A little tip - be sure to reserve. We wanted to experience an authentic local cuisine while visiting Stuttgart and Zum Acterburger truly made it happen for us. The three of us (me, my wife and 12-year old son) went to this restaurant for dinner and had three of their main dishes and they were exquisite. Stephan, our server, was fantastic and very welcoming. The ambiance really added to the experience too. The old German architecture along with the pictures and old artifacts inside the dinning spaces added to the authenticity of the experience, making it an unforgettable moment.

An evening with mixed impressions in the “Master Lamp”… We were really looking forward to celebrating her birthday here at our mother's request. However, the evening left me with mixed feelings that I would like to share. At the beginning we noticed the remarkable presence of the boss - a personality that is quite polarizing. His demeanor could be described as self-confident. In some moments, however, one would have wished for a slightly more approachable attitude. An example of this was the reception: the boss politely but very firmly insisted on taking our clothes, which was certainly meant as a service. Likewise, a small congratulation on the occasion of the birthday (which we had mentioned when making the reservation) could certainly have added a personal touch - unfortunately the warmth fell by the wayside here. A small faux pas happened with the wine pairing: different red wines were poured into the same glass, with the charming explanation that the second wine was stronger anyway. This can certainly be a stylistic device, although we would have found it more valuable to use different glasses in a wine series. As for the food, it can be said that it was good and carefully prepared. The dishes were solid and tasty, but without reaching a level that would justify the somewhat distant service. In conclusion, it remains to be said that the “Meister Lamp” is a restaurant with history and character. For us personally, however, it has become clear that it is not just the quality of the cuisine that is important, but also the atmosphere and the feeling of being welcome. Unfortunately, we were missing the latter, which we regret very much, as the “rabbit” was a fixture in our family for years. .

Man wählt das Restaurant, wenn man einen besonderen Anlass sucht, wie z.B. einen Geburtstag. Insofern war es auch schon eine Zeitlang her, dass ich das letzte Mal dort war. Es war ein Schock. Man wurde geradezu vom Service zur schnellen Bestellung (der Laden war mittelmäßig besetzt) gedrängt und dann kam innerhalb von weniger als 10 Minuten der Heilbutt auf Safransauce. Letztere schmeckte mehr nach Mehlschwitze als sonst irgendwelchen Zutaten und der Fisch war „gut“ durchgetrocknet, was man bei einem Heilbutt Filet erst einmal hinbekommen muss. Auf gleichem Niveau ging es mit dem Nachtisch weiter. Das ehemals gute Restaurant ist ziemlich abgestürtz.
