We enjoyed a wonderful four-course meal and were absolutely delighted. The venison was particularly outstanding – tender, aromatic, and perfectly prepared. Each course was presented with great care and tasted exceptionally good. The service was absolutely perfect: attentive, friendly, and always present without being intrusive. We felt welcome and well cared for from the very first moment. The ambiance was also impressive – very stylish, warm, and cozy, ideal for a special evening. A truly wonderful experience. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful dinner here. The building has been beautifully restored, creating a great atmosphere, and our waiter was very friendly and made our evening perfect! We had made a reservation, and all the tables were occupied on the evening we arrived. There were four of us, and our bill, including main courses, beer, wine, and an appetizer, came to €185. We thought that was very good value. We highly recommend this restaurant if you are in Stuttgart.

A restaurant that exceeds expectations. Yes—they still exist: restaurants with excellent service, fantastic quality, and a unique ambiance. We visited Zum Ackerbürger and were thrilled from the very first moment. The bread with the dips was so delicious that we eagerly anticipated the main courses. The mixed greens salad with hazelnut sauce was simply wonderful, special, and perfectly balanced in flavor. For the main course, the sauces for the roast beef and lamb were a true highlight: rich, aromatic, and perfectly balanced. The price-performance ratio is absolutely commensurate with the quality. We wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant.

Roast beef disappointing Very nice rustic ambiance and well-set tables. Prompt and attentive service. The fried potatoes and the gravy for the roast beef were of very good quality, but the roast beef itself was somewhat tough and the second half was completely riddled with tendons – awful. I calmly and objectively voiced my complaint to the server in a subdued voice. I was assured that great importance was placed on the quality of the meat and that the complaint would be passed on to the kitchen. However, there was no apology, and the server seemed completely unconcerned. The server didn't mention the issue again when paying; I would have expected some feedback from the kitchen. As we were leaving the restaurant, the server handed us our coats from the cloakroom but didn't say goodbye. This was my birthday dinner, and it was ruined. Especially considering the price of €39 for the roast beef with fried potatoes and no other side dishes, it was a disappointing experience.

We had reserved our table weeks in advance, yet it felt like we'd only been given leftover seats: in a side room on the ground floor, right next to a table with other guests. For a restaurant that prides itself on being a gourmet establishment, this was completely unacceptable. The room was also far too cold, as the door was constantly open and we were seated right next to the front door. The atmosphere was also poor: the background music was actually a radio – and Linkin Park at full volume. Completely inappropriate for a fine-dining restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and tried his best, but unfortunately, he was clearly untrained. He couldn't even distinguish between the white and red wines on the already limited wine list and knew nothing about our pre-ordered goose. Many things were only explained after we asked. Due to our location in the side room, service was practically nonexistent at times – we sat for about 15 minutes with empty plates that weren't cleared. A real low point was when the waiter sorted and packed up the leftover food from the next table right in front of us. This definitely belongs in the kitchen – not in the dining room. The food itself was good, but unfortunately not worth the price. The gravy for the goose, for example, was the same as the one for the roast beef. Overall, it fell far short of our expectations. We won't be back.

A business dinner at a restaurant where, at the entrance, an intriguing Italian engraving reads "anno 1561." The interior is reminiscent of medieval taverns in the villages of Baden-Württemberg. The rooms and tables are small but well-appointed. The service is top-notch, and the meat dishes feature traditional flavors, presented in Michelin-starred dishes. The octopus and seafood soup was a pleasant surprise. The lamb was excellent.

Very satisfied, I have nothing to complain about.

We were there last night. There were four of us. With tip, it came to €400 for four people. My impression was that the food was very undercooked (prawns, etc.). They were out of octopus, but offered an alternative. The fried potatoes were stuck together in a bowl. The Wiener schnitzel was (meat about 2 mm thick in a thick breading). All in all, it was average for €400. Everyone has to experience it for themselves.

If you want to spend your money on a little puzzle game on your plate, this is the place for you! 😄 I ordered a schnitzel – according to the menu, it included cucumber salad. I politely asked if it could be swapped for roasted potato salad. "Sure, no problem!" was the response. No mention of the fact that it supposedly costs extra. More on that later. The roasted potatoes didn't arrive until the schnitzel was already cold, 15 minutes late – timing is everything! 🙃 The head waiter said he wouldn't charge for the roasted potatoes because it was "not cool." Nice thought – but the bill still showed the full menu price of €36. So if the roasted potato salad actually costs extra, then at least the cucumber salad should have been included – right? But no: I paid as usual, got less, and arrived too late. 🤷‍♂️ At least I was promised they'd do better next time. Well then – good luck with the practice! 👏 By the way: The service staff – both the waitresses and the waiters – were really friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the blond gentleman with slicked-back hair, who appears to be the boss – he was considerably less friendly. As we were leaving, one of the employees accidentally dropped a tray of wine glasses and snapped at the person loudly and angrily. Not exactly the best way to treat your team. 😬 Conclusion: The food was good, but unfortunately, the experience with the boss was not – we won't be back and won't recommend the restaurant. 👎

We started with bread and three dips. The French butter was the highlight, nicely salty and aromatic. The bread was fresh and delicious, while the other dips were rather unspectacular. The appetizers, on the other hand, were a real treat and, for us, the best of the entire evening. We had tuna tartare and beef tartare, both excellent in taste and perfectly matched. For the main course, I opted for the roast beef. It had a solid flavor, but the piece of meat was too thick and a bit overpowering for me personally. The sauce and potatoes, however, were well-rounded. The dessert selection was disappointing; there were only two options, and both contained fruit. Unfortunately, this isn't a good choice for guests with fructose intolerance, which somewhat dampened the evening. The room was also very noisy, making relaxed conversation almost impossible. For our anniversary, I would have preferred a quieter, more harmonious restaurant.

We decided at very short notice to go to the Ackerbürger. Luckily, we got a table. We've never been there before, and the restaurant isn't specifically listed anywhere. I have to say that will change. We were able to order the 5-course menu even though we didn't have a reservation. We were absolutely thrilled. A special from the kitchen with oyster and caviar, char with yuzu, and shrimp with champagne foam. It was quite a strong flavor. First course with tuna tartar, followed by quail breast with goose liver, turbot in Thai curry foam, venison with wine jus, and finally, mille feuille. Each course was a delight in itself. Plus, an excellent wine pairing and good service. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening, thank you. I think it won't be long before this restaurant is listed in the relevant restaurant guides. The only issue: As the restaurant filled up later in the evening, service was at its peak. It's recommended to arrive a little earlier for the menu.

The food was good, but the prices were high, and service to non-Germans could have been improved. The menu had a total of six main courses to choose from, or a set menu for €130/€160 per person, and two desserts for €16/€18 each. Nowhere on their website does it show the CURRENT dishes they serve. The Google photos are NOT CURRENT; they are not the actual ones on the menu because THEY HAVE CHANGED OWNERSHIP, the waitress explained to us. They made us SHARE a table with a family (having previously seated us, without warning us that we would have to share it, and having already given us the menus, they then reluctantly, rather than politely, told us to sit differently because some people were arriving and there wasn't enough room at the table as we were seated...). They FORCED us to pay a tip, claiming (and I quote them) "THIS IS GERMANY." I didn't understand why it was MANDATORY... They told us 5-10%. They asked us to tell them the total we wanted to pay so he could write it on the card reader. The waiters were always smiling... As I said, good, rich, and tasty food, but at the cost of somewhat unpleasant service and a somewhat unpleasant feeling.

A place that touches my soul and I will definitely come again. Great presentation, great food

This was the best meal I had in Stuttgart, and definitely one of my top 10 in Germany. The location is not easy to spot — navigation is correct, but the entrance is quite discreet. (Which adds a bit of charm and mystery once you find it.) There are some street parking spaces nearby, but they are often full and quite tight. A larger paid parking lot is available within 3 minutes walking distance and is easy to use. The restaurant is housed in a charming old building, reportedly from before World War I. It’s small, traditional, and cozy — sometimes you may need to share a table. Before visiting, I thought it was just a German pork-focused tavern, something like Augustiner. But when I arrived, it felt entirely different — more like refined, authentic German home-style cooking. It’s not fine dining, no dress code or stiffness, but excellent cooking in a relaxed atmosphere. The ingredients and preparation are outstanding. Most dishes are slow-cooked, so the meat is perfectly tender while fully absorbing the flavors of the sauce. The desserts were a true highlight — beautifully balanced and thoughtfully composed. For example: rich but not heavy chocolate, passion fruit that’s flavorful but not too sour, and coconut that adds a refreshing touch. The combination was simply perfect. Honestly, every dish was done with care and skill, and I believe you can order anything here without worrying — everything is worth trying. I would happily return many times just to work through the entire menu. The quality here easily beats many one-star Michelin restaurants, and in some ways even surpasses them. This is sincere, honest cooking: no gimmicks, no laziness, no unnecessary innovation (I personally dislike molecular or overcomplicated Michelin styles). Portion sizes are generous and well-balanced. Please allow enough time for your meal — good cooking takes time, and it’s worth every minute. 😎 The service was also excellent — warm, attentive, and welcoming.

I know the Ackerbürger as a very good restaurant. Yesterday, as usual, I had an onion roast with fried potatoes. The fried potatoes were burnt and the meat was unusually hard. My dining companions felt the same way. The potato salad was watery and tasteless. We complained and the service was understanding and apologized several times. He brought new fried potatoes, which were then good. We were given a schnapps as a consolation. A price reduction would have been justified, but unfortunately it was not. At these high prices this would have been appropriate. We were looking forward to delicious food, then unfortunately this happened. Maybe it was a bad day, but it shouldn't happen like that. Will we come back? At least not in the near future. Very unfortunate.

Siamo ritornati dopo qualche anno in questo bel ristorante, e abbiamo notato alcuni cambiamenti rispetto al passato. Oltre ad alcune variazioni estetiche del locale, che non commento, c'è stato un deciso aumento dei prezzi, con percentuali a due cifre rispetto a piatti simili (non identici, perché è cambiato il menù) del recente passato e, soprattutto, un calo importante nella qualità del servizio. Tempi lunghissimi (in quattro, col locale abbastanza vuoto, abbiamo aspettato più di un'ora), confusione totale (tavola apparecchiata senza un coperto che si siamo dovuti "procurare" dal posto vicino; sparecchiata un po' a caso, lasciando alcune posate e alcuni piatti sporchi senza ragione). I piatti, viceversa, molto buoni ed abbondanti. Col prezzo pagato oggettivamente ci si aspettava un po' più di attenzione sul lato del servizio. Miglioreranno!

The four of us had dinner there on Friday evening, the restaurant was completely booked, which is why you should definitely make a reservation at least 14 days in advance! The historic building exudes a rustic charm, combined with the candles and white tablecloths it's simply a dream! Just like the food, whether a la carte or a menu (I definitely recommend taking one), EVERYTHING IS TOP! The star will come here soon…a very clear recommendation!

Large cinema in a half-timbered ambience. You can find everything here, from onion roast to a 5-course fine dining menu. The wine list is well thought out without being aloof. Two employees were missing from service due to illness, which of course did not leave its mark. The remaining two colleagues really gave their all and didn't let us guests feel the stress. Respect! Great plates, superbly composed and coordinated! An absolute recommendation.

Today's roast is full of love and doesn't miss out on anything. The head chef is different than I initially expected - I am more than just a strong leader. He manages to combine the energy of the entire kitchen with the right kind of humor and expertise. A well-rehearsed team full of passion and ambition who bring the overall result of the kitchen to your plate to your absolute satisfaction. Seeing the effort and the result as a visual comparison unleashes pure respect. I can't say anything negative about the food, it's just great. I think I'll leave it at that because my vocabulary doesn't allow me to delve deeper into the topic. Big praise for the leadership style and the courage to prove a random guy from the internet wrong about what he had previously said and thought. The ambience has to be experienced to be believed. The perfect use for the restaurant: 1. Celebrating Swabian high-gloss food on a perfect birthday with your hometown family. If you are young and want to take your parents or grandparents out, this is where grandma and grandpa's childhood memories come back. Gruss des Hauses- an unserem Tisch Fehlanzeige. Merkwürdig. Man musste eine abgewetzte Treppe hochkraxeln um dann in einem engen Raum am Tisch Platz zu nehmen. Stühle rücken, damit andere Gäste sich an einem vorbei schieben konnten. Die Speisekarte schwer zu lesen, da Schummriges Licht. Niedrige Deckenhöhe- schlechte Luft. Das Essen meiner Meinung nach überteuert. Rostbraten mit Sauce für 36€. Dazu Bratkartoffeln, die eher wie frittierte Chips aussahen. Gemüse- Beilage- Fehlanzeige.

A beautiful old restaurant - a steep staircase leads into the restaurant where the usual “wait to be seated”. The table we got was good - the legroom was a bit limited due to the "old table" but a very harmonious atmosphere The food was excellent - every dish was beautifully prepared and with attention to detail. At the beginning we had to wait a long time before we could even order the aperitif - hence a star deduction for the service.

It was a dream... Service was very friendly and attentive and gave us great advice on wine and food. And the food was prepared with love in detail and tasted at the highest level. Many thanks to Can Basar and his team, we will definitely come back

On the occasion of my 80th birthday, we had an excellent lunch in the Ackerbürger in a cozy atmosphere and felt we were well served in every respect.

In the historic half-timbered house you will now be pampered by the young team around Can Basar. We decided on a 3-course menu. A delight for the senses, the saddle of venison is as tender as butter. We had a completely successful evening!

What was once a good home-style restaurant with perfect Swabian cuisine has become a tried-and-tested modern restaurant with mixed cuisine. Let's start with the setup. First of all, the restaurant was heated a few degrees too little. The new lamps are at such a height that the lamps are blinding. The plastic flowers are unnecessary, either right or not at all and the Christmas decorations can now go too. The music being played now is boring and doesn't fit the ambience. The new service staff are trying hard, but everything seems a little chaotic, uncoordinated and too cold. It seems as if the kitchen is causing this and sending the food out in such an uncoordinated manner that the service staff are in a tailspin. We weren't offered bread to go with the spreads, but the guests at the other tables were. We were also not asked if we would like something to drink again. The waiting times are unacceptable. Now let's get to the food. The soup was very good, with not enough pancakes. The salad was a little small for €14 and not well prepared either. The sauce wasn't spread on the bottom of the salad, there was no sign of the green apple, but otherwise it was OK overall. The main course was sea bass with bouchot mussels with crustacean stock and saffron, fennel and fregola sada. First of all the good, the Fregola Sparda is great. There were no Bouchot mussels, but there were scallops, which were a little too glassy and the sea bass was too dry. There was clearly not enough of the fennel and the crustacean broth to be seen, and there was hardly any taste of the saffron. At the next table a guest had the same thing and I have to say, here too the arrangement was completely different and the fennel and the crustacean stock were visible. The meat on the onion roast was great - but unfortunately there was far too much fat on the rind, the sauce, which was OK, was well intended on our plate, but less so on others and now comes the worst thing you can do. The supposedly hand-scraped spaetzle are far too doughy and not fluffy, too little egg, they are more like boy spaetzle that are too long. Spaetzle must be fine!!!! Please practice again. Otherwise write Sparrows on it. We had also complained about this and apparently it was the first time that your spaetzle had been criticized. What we saw was that spaetzle was left at all the tables. The dessert, supposedly ice cream - well more like an ice cream mousse. Disappointing in taste. The double espresso had far too little crema and aroma. The bottom line is that we have to say that we won't be back any more quickly, because for so much money and such chaos and no highlights in terms of taste, that's out of the question for us. We can eat better ourselves at home. We don't spend so much money abroad. There are enough other restaurants so that you can leave feeling satisfied. Hopefully the new owner will quickly learn from his mistakes and improve. It means well, but everything is still not harmonious. The new owner cannot come close to the quality of the service, which was warm and friendly, and the high-quality food, where you experienced a taste explosion, a real palate sex and everything was harmonious, from the previous owner. It's really a great place, everything on the menu is prepared with a lot of love and I particularly liked the Swabian dishes. The historical ambience and the cozy atmosphere make the visit something special. The staff was friendly and helped a lot with the recommendations too Wine list is impressive I have never experienced anything like it before. A reservation is definitely necessary as the restaurant is small but very inviting, thank you very much.
