This restaurant in the castle is simply fabulous. I am of Italian descent, and my country is rich in historical palaces and monuments, but I have never seen such a beautiful place! The castle is magnificent, and the restaurant, which serves delicious dishes, is run by friendly and professional staff.

I visited Hambach Castle in the Palatinate region and was thrilled. The setting is impressive, the view of the vineyards is beautiful, and the ambiance is historically beautiful.

I was there with a group and pre-ordered food. Nothing, not even the side dishes, was vegan. They responded quickly and flexibly. You can tell that everything was freshly prepared. It was very tasty. Good food, great service.

The second star is for the good view. The service was nonexistent. We weren't served despite asking, even though there were staff standing around.

We were there with a larger group. The service was good; everything was quick, and the staff was friendly. But the best part was that a young man drove me down to the parking lot when I had a slipped disc and could barely walk. He was so empathetic and kind; I haven't experienced anything like that in a long time. Thank you so much again for that.

The castle is beautiful, interesting, and worth seeing. There's good parking and an easy path to the top. Unfortunately, the only thing that impressed us about the restaurant itself was the fantastic view. The vegan tarte flambée we ordered with seven different vegetables consisted mainly of red and green onions, leeks, chives, and some bell peppers. Unfortunately, it didn't win me over.

The food is delicious, but the service leaves much to be desired. Despite clear instructions, you don't always get what you ordered.

We had booked for 35 participants from Berlin, but had to cancel due to the hottest day of the year (38 degrees Celsius). There was no concession, but we were charged the full price as compensation. Customer service doesn't work that way, right? A settlement would have been fine, but a claim for damages due to climate change that was canceled in a timely manner? Hospitality doesn't work that way!

We received very friendly service. The menu itself was unappealing, and unfortunately, the content was also lacking. I find it a shame when clichés are constantly being served – in the Palatinate region, it's the 'Saumagen' (sausage-like meat), otherwise I found the creativity lacking... For vegans, there was a tarte flambée without sour cream, with vegetables, but it was €3 more expensive than the tarte flambée with wild salmon. Mmm

Sorry, but that was nothing. It was a hot day. We just wanted a drink and were simply forgotten. After 20 minutes, eight of us were sitting in the blazing sun without any drinks. Everyone who arrived after us was served and able to refresh themselves. Only after we repeatedly asked for help and raised a fuss did anyone move. It was completely uncoordinated. That was the first impression, but it was disappointing. Sorry, I rarely give bad reviews, but the waiter couldn't help it. It was the bar's fault, or rather, they prioritized setting the tables inside for a group. If that's the case, just close the terrace. We won't be coming back.

It doesn't even say online that the party is private and the restaurant is closed. Getting there is free!

The restaurant has a very modern and chic interior. It doesn't really fit the castle atmosphere. It's nice to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the view. The staff were nice, but there was a long wait for service. The food was good and beautifully presented. Note to management: The staff should focus more on the guests, rather than just serving them. It feels like they're rushing through the restaurant aimlessly. We would have liked to order something after dinner.

Popped in there for a late lunch. Very friendly waiters who were also able to fulfill special requests. The vegan tarte flambée was well topped and the side salad was very tasty. The portions are sufficiently large. We recommend the sweet potato fries, also simply as a side dish, they are crispy and very tasty. The ambience was sober (high ceiling) and conveyed a little bit of the atmosphere of a large hall. The view from the windows into the plain is worth seeing.

Service was very friendly, the food we ordered came quickly. Unfortunately, the liver dumplings did not correspond to the usual Palatinate taste and consistency. The tarte flambées were not crispy but flaky and were delivered differently than ordered.

The snack platter was very plentiful, super tasty, and absolutely reasonable in price. There's also a wide selection of drinks, although the prices are commensurate with the location—but you know that beforehand. 😉 And because the service is also really friendly, we give it a full 5 stars!

After a hike and a visit to Hambach Castle, we stopped here. We had a great meal and drinks, and the service was very attentive and friendly. We can only recommend it!

I was at the castle today with my 5-year-old granddaughter. Since she was thirsty, I asked for a glass of tap water at the bar in the restaurant. It cost €3.10!!! The price-performance ratio is completely unjust in my opinion – it's totally unfair. And justice is an important pillar of our democracy, isn't it?

During a longer hike we stopped at Hambach Castle and stopped at 1832. We ate pumpkin soup and drank tea. The soup was very tasty and bread was served with it. However, €7.90 per portion, which was rather tight, felt quite expensive. The restaurant is bright and modern, not necessarily appropriate for the historic location.

The castle was one of our vacation destinations. Of course we also had lunch in the restaurant. I ordered a Cordon Blue and it was really tasty: tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. You get good service there. Service staff are nice and always helpful. The amenities match the location. Recommended!

If waiters carry their private cell phones in their vests and this is more important than every guest who walks in the door, then even 1 star for this service is too much! But they're just tourists, they only come once anyway.

Im Nachhinein bin ich sehr froh, dass wir NUR Getränke hatten. Es war so unfassbar schlecht (Schorle/Kaffee), teuer und schmuddelig. Hier gibt's Dollarzeichen, aber keine Leidenschaft für Gastronomie.

Wir waren Samstag früh dort bevor geöffnet wurde und saßen auf der wunderschönen Terrasse. Allerdings waren Stühle schmutzig und viele waren umgeworfen. Es lag Müll rum. Als geöffnet wurde, hat sich niemand vom Personal darum gekümmert. Insgesamt fand ich den Service mäßig und eher unengagiert. Die Einrichtung ist exquisit. Der Innenarchitekt hat wunderbares mit den Handwerkern geleistet! Leider wird dies nicht wertgeschätzt und die Räumlichkeiten sind leicht schmuddelig und ungepflegt.

The rude waitress doesn't sell wine. Has all the seats inside and doesn't serve on the terrace. Would you like to take your wine spritzer outside yourself? No, it doesn't work. Would you like to buy a bottle of wine? But under no circumstances drink on the terrace! Would you like to buy a cake for your children after they have completed the long climb up the mountain? But only secretly behind the stairs so that no one sees it. This so called "restaurant" is the biggest juice shop I have ever seen and just plain rude and inflexible. Better go to another wine stand if you are looking for wine 🍷

Despite the good weather, we were neither served outside nor were we sold drinks/food inside for consumption outside. Why you obviously don't want to do business remains the tenant's secret. In any case, it wasn't explained to us. Conclusion: if you want to eat/drink something outside, you have to bring something with you.

Great location, gorgeous views, a wonderfully modernised castle. The local food was tasty and presented very well. And the plum cake was the right consistency and not too sweet, a must.

Nice view on the terrace but there is no customer service here. Despite asking, they refuse to offer a small glass of tap water with their coffee. There is no tap water here.

Sitting on the terrace and under the parasols is recommended, especially in good weather and after an extensive visit to the castle...

I paid €4.90 for a peppermint tea. So I recommend drinking coffee or eating a cake because everything is cheaper than tea!

Sehr schöne Location mit einem sensationellen Ausblick. Der Service ist super nett, das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend. Auf def Terrasse kann man leider nicht reservieren aber mit etwas Glück findet man ein Plätzchen. Wir hatten vorweg den marinieren Spargelsalat und danach gab es Scwartenmagen jnd Wildbratwürste mit einem extrem leckeren Sauerkraut. Als Nachspeise musste ein Rhabarberkuchen mit Baiser verspeist werden sowie ein Eiskaffee getrunken werden. Mit zwei Vor-, zwei Hauptspeisen, zwei Desserts, zwei Aperitiv, zwei großen Weinschorlen, einem Viertel Grauburgunder und einem kleinen Weinschorle sowie einem Espressl waren wir 129€ los. Absolut angemessen. Wir kommen gerne wieder.

I have eaten at the Hambacher Schloss Restaurant several times. I have nothing negative to say about the restaurant. Extremely friendly staff, very tasty food and one of the most beautiful views ever! Only recommended.

We went to the murder mystery dinner event and it was just so special. The view is simply amazing, the castle is enchanting and the 3-course menu is simply very tasty. The combination with an event and dinner is really something different.

The food is great and the employees are really nice. You don't have to wait long for your meal either. Any time!

Bei gutem Wetter lohnt sich der Platz auf der Terrasse, eine einmalige Aussicht, die Bedienung war wirklich freundlich und schnell. Das Preis-Leistung Verhältnis hat auch gepasst. Kann man nur empfehlen.

Ein Restaurant an einen schönen Ort ...aber der Service ist langsam ist eigentlich noch untertrieben. Essen erst an an falschen Tisch gelegt . Es war nur noch lau warm und für die Rechnung müssten wir erst zweimal nachfragen . Wartezeit bist zur Rechnung ca. 40 Minuten.

Der Besuch zu diesem Restaurant hat sich meiner meinung nach gelohnt da dass Personal einem immer zur seite steht und wenn man etwas braucht sofort einem das gebracht wird wonach man fragt von mir gibt es eine empfehlung.

Also, der Ausblick ist einmalig und naturbedingt. Das Restaurant kann ich nicht empfehlen. Kuchen kommt augenscheinlich aus Fabrik und das Eis, der vielversprechende Hambacher Schloss Becher, schmeckt , wie soll ich sagen? Nach nix. 3 Kugeln Billigeis mit Sprühsahne und Waffelherz. Die Kellner sind nicht organisiert. Brauchen wir nicht noch einmal.

Die Lage. Spitze. Die Aussicht Spitze. Alleine dafür lohnt sich der Besuch. Die Speisen, so frisch zubereitet toll. Die Mitarbeiter versprühen eine gewisse Lustlosigkeit was ich verstehen kann, wenn ich lange Wege zu gehen habe, weil sich alles draußen auf der Terrasse befindet. Nur das weiß ich, wenn ich mich auf dieses Terrain begebe. Draußen auf dem Grill, der nicht sauber war, wenn ich da drinnen die Raucherkippen sehe, und dann soll dort was zubereitet werden? Lieber Gast, machst Du das zu Hause auch? Liebes Personal, das sind fünf Minuten und dieser Zustand ist behoben.
