Reispapier in Köln

Despite a confirmed reservation, we found ourselves in front of closed doors. According to the restaurant's opening hours, the doors should have been open, but they were. A member of staff was inside, but couldn't communicate... Very disappointing – something like this shouldn't have happened. Unfortunately, I'll never go back.

Overpriced food and drinks in a poor atmosphere. You can't even sit inside because the smell from the open kitchen is so strong. Outside, you sit on the street. Service is almost nonexistent. You have to get menus and then go to the cashier to order, where you have to pay immediately. The quality of the food was okay. However, you don't expect sliced, breaded chicken schnitzel from a chicken curry. The bottom line: I won't go back again.

We were traveling and stumbled upon the restaurant by chance, so we went in. We had bun bo and bun nem – the food was surprisingly delicious, and the staff was friendly and cheerful. It's a shame the restaurant was closed today when I wanted to return and try other dishes (it's closed on Sundays).

We were a large group and were looked after warmly and professionally by the entire team. Even beforehand, coordination was smooth and extremely friendly, so we felt completely in good hands. The evening itself was also well organized: Everything ran smoothly, the food was exceptionally delicious, and the atmosphere made the evening truly enjoyable. I would be happy to come back anytime I'm in Cologne again.

We can highly recommend this restaurant. There are many Asian dishes, both a wide variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes. There were also many dishes that we didn't even know, e.g. E.g. the minced meat rolls in dish no. 15. Well seasoned, very tasty. The bowls are not too small, absolutely recommended. 🤩 We deducted a star from the service because you have to order the food yourself at the counter, but it is then brought to the table by the very friendly staff. Since the restaurant is located directly on Neusser Str, it is not always very quiet, but having a conversation is not a problem!

We are in transit and ordered on the go. The lady was so friendly and patient with us. The food was delicious, Budda Bowls and Taste of Spring. Both vegan. Thank you!

Here is the text in a simple and understandable form: We were in Cologne on a Saturday and happened to walk past the restaurant. It looked very inviting, so my wife and I decided to give it a try. The service was very friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed. We both ate the same dish, but I can't remember exactly what it was or what it was called - just that it was delicious. The portions were reasonable: my wife was full, but I could have eaten a little more. Still, the price was okay. The vegetarian and vegan options are very good; in my opinion, nothing is left to be desired. Card payment was also possible and I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

After we often ate at rice paper and so far everything was fine with the food, today we unfortunately received inedible meat in the beef bowl (meat stank and was unfortunately not edible). We wanted to discreetly complain about the food, but the service employee didn't take it seriously and verbally addressed it. Unfortunately not a place we will return to.

The rating reflects my personal experience and is always somewhat subjective, especially when it comes to gastronomy! Beautifully located in the Agnesviertel. <we were early and had no problem getting a spot outside under the big trees. Service was reserved and friendly. The fried spring rolls with rice noodles etc. were delicious and I would theoretically order them again. My “Pappas Noodles” were too soupy and incredibly salty for me. The first part (from above) was somehow OK and I had to leave the rest. Unfortunately, no one came by to clear the dishes until we paid. When paying, I briefly told the gentleman that the noodles were too salty, he apologized briefly and that was it. Not very accommodating, but the restaurant got full quickly anyway so it certainly doesn't matter if a guest is dissatisfied. So many guests couldn't be wrong. ....we also notice that all curries contain cream! Maybe the chef was having a bad day.

Unfortunately, nothing is achieved here for weeks when it comes to invoices - extremely dubious and unprofessional!

It’s a nice place in terms of atmosphere but neither food nor service were great. We got bowls and the salad and soy sprouts were visibly old (were mushy and brown) and tasted - well not good. Aside of that, service was not really available and portions are also really small. When we asked for some hot sauce the jar was empty but they were so unapproachable, we didn’t even ask a second time. There’s many better places in the area, definitely won’t come back and would not recommend.

Food delicious, but service slow/non-existent and tables dirty.

The taste of the food was very tasty, BUT I ordered my bowl without nuts because I have allergies, which I also pointed out when ordering. The bowl arrived with nuts, so I pointed out again that I have allergies and couldn't eat them. The second time only the noodles were replaced and the peanuts were on top. This is not possible with an allergy, which in the worst case can be fatal!!! I was able to find three more nuts in my food. That's not a good thing for me, but if I had really bad allergies it could have turned out completely differently. I hope next time we pay more attention to it.

Small place with a large outdoor sitting area(basically tables set up in two street parking spots). We ordered Pho, spring rolls, and fried eggrolls. The appetizers were good… could do without the fried dough around the egg rolls. The pho was better than we expected for Koln. We would come back here again.

I've been living in Cologne for a year and Reispapier has been my absolute favorite restaurant ever since. The service is always so incredibly nice (even if there are language barriers) and takes into account the volume of the music in the store. I personally love sitting outside (people watching on Neusser Straße is always good). There are many vegetarian dishes (especially summer rolls and Taste of Spring are my favorites) and everything always tastes very fresh. You cannot pay by card at lunchtime. I have to say I keep dreaming about the noodle bowls and I came here on the recommendation of Hazel Brugger. Haven't regretted it for a day. Absolute recommendation!

It's going ok. The vegan dishes we tried had room for improvement. Spring bowl portion was small and nothing special. The udon noodles with the vegan meat were too salty (too much soy sauce). Wouldn't come here again.

My absolute favorite restaurant in the Agnesviertel. I love everything here. The staff are fantastic, nice and quickly build a personal level and even remember your preferences. The food is simply delicious, I've tried almost everything and can recommend everything. But what I like best is the Crispy Vegan dish, which is simply a feast. So definitely try it out and thank me later for the recommendation 😉👍🏾

There's nothing wrong with quality, but the dishes are as funny as I've rarely seen. We had to warm up another dish to fill us up. Therefore a very generous 3 points.

We have eaten here a few times and have always been satisfied. The food comes quickly, is beautifully prepared and really tasty. The service is also good and there are just as many vegetarian as non-vegetarian dishes. And there is also a high chair ☺️

Ordered one of the lemonades, spring rolls and the dish with beef. The lemonade was quite balanced, citrous-y and fresh, was very delicious indeed. The spring rolls though, seemed to have a good filling but they were way too greasy, which obviously spoilt the whole fun. The beef dish didn't seem to have enough need to start with, but i wanted to still give it a chance. The noodles and the other ingredients somehow tasted incredible bland even when I added the sauce that they gave along the dish and the amount of salad and coriander and mint seemed to be disproportionate, way too high, which made the whole experience less than optional and honestly slightly, disappointing.

I go for lunch, the restaurant is quite full, it is self-service for lunch. I order and pay at the bar, then wait for the food to be prepared and take it away myself. After eating, I simply return the bowl at the bar and leave without waiting for payment. This is very convenient for my quick lunch.

The food was super tasty. The portions were big enough to fill you up. It's worth going. The restaurant also takes a break, so pay attention to the opening times otherwise you could find yourself in front of a locked door.

I regularly have lunch here with colleagues and find it really tasty! It's a bit annoying that you have to order at the till and then get up again to pick up your food. For such a small place it seems unnecessary.

We are from Sydney, Australia. We’ve had our fair share of Asian foods. This is by far one of the most unexpected surprises for fresh, tasty Vietnamese cuisine. I loved the Beef Pho. My nephew had the fried rice. Both absolutely delicious. Highly recommend 👍 Service was also wonderful. Considering it was the day of New Years Eve and a lot of Cologne was dead, we were happy to have found such a wonderful place for lunch.

Ich bin schon öfter dort mittags essen gewesen .... ESSEN IST Geschmacklich ganz okay Preis angemessen, Portion Mittel.. Es ist ein sehr kleines Restaurant mit Tischen draußen direkt vor der Tür. SERVICE: DER Kellner und Kassierer ist immer sehr freundlich gewesen Was ich schade finde: Ich weiss nicht wie abends der Service abläuft, aber mittags so: Du setzt dich , der Kellner bringt die Karte, fordert dich auf , an der Kasse zu bestellen (3-4 Meter vom Tisch) nach Bestellung bekommt man einen Pieper. Wenn es piept, wieder an die Kasse laufen, Tablet samt Getränk und Essen selbst an den Tisch bringen , nach dem Essen alles wieder rein auf einen vorgegebenen Platz. SERVICE GLEICH NULL ( Halt wie in der Kantine) LEIDER AUCH KEIN Trinkgeld dann Schade.......

Frisch und lecker. Besonders muss der Service hervorgehoben werden. Eine Lady schmeißt den Laden und bedient alle Tische, und das schnell, freundlich und sehr nett. Gerne wieder!

Unfassbar leckeres Essen, wir waren absolut begeistert!

Vietnamesisches Restaurant oder eher Imbiss. Ist gerade noch OK. Freundlicher schneller Service, aber die Gerichte geschmacklich wenig aufregend. Ein paar Kräuter, etwas Soße und viel Eisbergsalat. Hat aus meiner Sicht und Erfahrung wenig mit Vietnam zu tun. Dafür recht günstig. Waren jetzt einmal da und das war es dann auch.

Das Essen ist zwar genießbar, aber sehr viel mehr leider auch nicht. Besonders nicht für die Preise. Trotz Inflation. Die Vorspeisen sind leider sehr dürftig. Für 6 € bekommt man 3 Crispy Spring Rolls, wahlweise mit Hühnchen, in denen praktisch kaum Füllung und vor allem kaum Fleisch vorhanden ist. Sie bestehen praktisch FAST nur aus Teig. Und sie schmecken ernsthaft nicht besser als günstige Tiefkühl-Frühlingsrollen ausm Supermarkt. Das Hauptgericht, die Nr. 11 (Spicy Chicken) schmeckt akzeptabel, wenn auch sehr nach einer instant Brühe, und enthält auch nur sehr wenige Streifen Fleisch. Satt wird man von den Gerichten bei ca. 20-30 € pro Person als erwachsener Mann jedenfalls nicht. Danach gab es um die Ecke noch einen Döner auf die Hand, um nicht hungrig heim zu fahren. Eine weitere Speise im Reispapier für 6-15 € wollte ich nicht mehr riskieren. Der Service war bemüht und freundlich, wenn auch (subjektiv) etwas aufgesetzt freundlich. Aber lieber so als unfreundlich, oder? Naja, der Tisch war auf ganzer Fläche klebrig und wurde nicht gewischt. Obwohl ich und meine Begleitung die einzigen Gäste zu dem Zeitpunkt waren. Meine Begleitung hat den Tisch mit den einzigen zwei Papier-Servietten am Tisch selbst gewischt. Ein etwas liebloses Glas mit sehr wenig Besteck und wiederverwendbaren Holz-Essstäbchen stand auf dem Tisch. Auf die Frage an den Kellner, ob es auch Einweg-Stäbchen gäbe, bekamen wir die Antwort, dass sie aus Gründen der Umwelt auf Einweg-Stäbchen verzichten wollen. Finde ich ernsthaft zwar löblich und generell auch positiv, aber im ganzen Laden wird mit sehr viel Plastikpflanzen dekoriert und ob unversiegelte Holz-Essstäbchen wirklich rein werden, ist fraglich. Und Einweg-Esstäbchen werden in der Regel aus nachhaltigen Materialien gefertigt und dürften recyclebar sein. Lasse mich aber auch gern eines Besseren belehren. Vielleicht gibt es auf ARTE ja eine mit dramatischer Musik untermalte Essstäbchen-Industrie verteufelnde Dokumentation, die ich noch nicht kenne. Ist zwar Geschmackssache, aber das Restaurant ist recht dunkel und nicht besonders gemütlich, die Stühle und Sitzkissen (Ikea) laden nicht zum langen Sitzen ein. Vielleicht mögen das andere Leute ja mehr. Ich bin nicht sauer oder dergleichen und meine Bewertung soll wirklich meine sachliche Meinung und Erfahrung widerspiegeln. Generell ist alles objektiv und recht nüchtern gemeint, außer dort wo ich explizit Subjektivität oder Geschmack erwähne. Und ja ich war wirklich dort und ein Beleg ist auch vorhanden. Alles in allem, war ich persönlich nicht besonders zufrieden, bin nicht satt geworden, würde persönlich das Restaurant nicht weiterempfehlen und finde andere Lokale im selben Genre besser. Jeder soll sich selbst sein eigenes Bild machen, aber es gibt definitiv großes Verbesserungspotenzial.

Die Fresh Summer Rolls, die gebratenen Udon-Nudeln und das Spicy Chicken waren sehr lecker. Die gebackenen Spring Rolls waren allerdings zu fettig. Die Bedienung war freundlich und flott.

Unsympathischstes Restaurant ever. Genervte, desinteressierte Mitarbeiter. Mini Portionen bei normalen Preisen. Es macht einfach keinen Spaß, zwei außerordentlich winzige aufgebackene Gyoza für 6 Euro zu bekommen. Habe es dreimal dort versucht, das war's.

Klein und verwinkelt, aber charmant eingerichtet. Sehr gute würzige Pho Chay mit frischem Gemüse. Der frittierte Tofu war sehr lecker und knusprig.

Preise wurden erhöht. Eine Buddha Bowl mit Reisnudeln und Gemüse für fast 16 € ist aber komplett überzogen. Leider sind wir da raus.

Ein gemütliches und eher kleines Restaurant. Der Service war gut und sehr schnell, wir hatten kaum Wartezeit! Das Essen selbst war auch sehr lecker, es gibt auch genug vegetarische und vegane Angebote. Die einzige Kritik wäre der Preis - das Hauptgericht (crispy vegan) hat 16€ gekostet und besteht überwiegend aus Glasnudeln und Gemüseraspeln. Wirklich lecker, aber auch mit den crispy vegan Stücken dabei finde ich den Preis etwas zu hoch. Insgesamt aber trotzdem eine klare Empfehlung für dieses Restaurant!

Ich war am Valentinstag mit einer Freundin dort und wir fanden sowohl das Essen super lecker, als auch die Atmosphäre echt schön. Die Kellnerin war auch sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend und für mich als Vegetarier gab es natürlich auch eine große Auswahl, wovon mein ausgesuchtes Gericht „Veggie Curry“ auch fantastisch geschmeckt hat😋

Ik was teleurgesteld over de vegetarische curry. Ik denk dat de ober me het gerecht met vlees heeft gegeven. Ik belde het restaurant om ernaar te vragen, maar hij was buitengewoon onbeleefd en neerbuigend. Ik geloof dat zijn naam Kong is (sorry voor de spelling). Sorry voor de beoordeling, maar ik zal nooit meer terugkomen. Bedankt!

Bánh mì dở tệ không có pate! Nhân viên hình như là tên Cường phân biệt người miền Trung với một thái độ rất xấc xược. Bạn nhân viên không trả lời và lườm mình với ánh mắt khinh miệt. Thật lòng mình cảm thấy bị xúc phạm nặng nề! Chắc chắn sẽ không có lần 2! Review chân thực từ sinh viên Hà Lan!!!

Für ein kleines vietnamesisches Restaurant nicht günstig. Jedes Hauptgericht ab 15€. Je nach Fleisch Auswahl mit Zuschlägen. Es war OK

Essen war okay, Bedingung fragwürdig bis grottig. Gibt keinen Tischservice, Servicekraft wird schnippisch und man muss sofort bezahlen. Die Portionen (vorallem der Reis) sind klein und man soll auch noch 1.50 Euro bezahlen, wenn man mehr Reis möchte.
