Perfect for a day trip. Service and staff were absolutely fine.

Hello, after much deliberation... I'm finally writing about today's trip to the Räuberschänke (Robber's Tavern). We started with an hour of bowling with the family. The bowling alley is great! BUT the fact that you're only asked if you want something to drink after about 20 minutes... the service is poor. Now for the food... well, how should I put it... if you're a fan of frozen ready meals, then this is the place for you. We had seasoned meat as an appetizer... lukewarm and tasteless. My wife had a ready-made schnitzel with cheese and ham, and the fries were okay. I had pork tenderloin steak, which was perfectly cooked, but the over-seasoning ruined it. The chicken wings were definitely from the Po Frost brand, and the consistency was a disaster... The fries that came with them... well, you either love them or hate them. At our friends' house, there were a lot of ready-made meals...

Simply perfect. Beautiful rooms. Excellent value for money. The food was also absolutely delicious. Truly fantastic.

In principle, it's a nice place. Plenty of space and the option to liven up family celebrations with bowling. Unfortunately, the bowling alley wasn't heated enough, so my daughter had to stay in her snowsuit for the first hour. The food, unfortunately, contains a significant amount of pre-made products. As has been mentioned several times here, the presentation isn't very welcoming. This restaurant isn't an option for me just for eating out.

A huge thank you to the well-organized staff for a wonderful stay! We were visiting with family. The bowling, food, and accommodation with breakfast were simply fantastic. We'd love to come back.

We were there in work clothes. Entry was still granted. Quick and uncomplicated.

Unfortunately, the food and service could have been improved. The roulade was too firm and undercooked, and the red cabbage was very finely shredded and watery. The seasoned meat on the schnitzel tasted like it came from a can. The highlight, however, was the juice in the 0.2-liter glass, which contained 1/3 of an ice cube. The wait was very long, despite ordering. 20 minutes for drinks and 45 minutes for the food after ordering is something to be improved. Unfortunately, there are no half points (3.5), hence the 3 stars, but 4 would have been too many.

The food was delicious. The service was very friendly. The atmosphere was nice. The prices were still reasonable. They weren't cheap, but good food costs money.

When a children's menu says "Butter Spätzle with meatballs, grated cheese, and tomato sauce," you expect fried, ground meatballs in a tomato sauce that at least contains passata. I was horrified when my child was served Spätzle with warmed-up, ready-made mini meatballs, like the ones you can buy at any supermarket, with diluted ketchup as the tomato sauce. Not to mention that the cheese was also missing. Absolutely terrible.

If you're looking for a restaurant that's child-friendly, this is the place for you! Good food at absolutely fair prices! We'll be back!

Very friendly staff, well-maintained and extremely clean rooms, delicious food, and a great breakfast buffet. Highly recommended. It's also ideal as a base for motorcyclists and groups. It's also an ideal base for tours through the Ore Mountains and into Saxon Switzerland.

A great opportunity to spend a few days in peace, celebrating with family or friends and playing bowling together. Delicious food with an extensive menu. Friendly and helpful staff provide all the service. Plus, if you book early, you can even get a wheelchair-accessible room.

We went out to eat today and were absolutely thrilled. The kids got something to paint. The service was fantastic – we were always taken care of in a friendly manner. We were also thrilled with the food; we haven't had such good food in a long time. Kudos to everyone – it was truly fantastic!

Hi, we had lunch here on a Friday. From the service to the view to the ambiance, everything was excellent. The portions were generously sized and very tasty. The staff were consistently very friendly and accommodating. Just go there, it's worth it.

We were privileged to enjoy Saxon hospitality at the Räuberschänke for an entire weekend as part of a vintage car event with 120 people. The staff was fantastic, flexible, thoughtful, and hardworking. It was simply a culinary delight, and the price was more than fair. Highly recommended for larger events, a fantastic location!

Clean rooms, friendly service and tasty food.

We've been here several times. The staff is friendly and accommodates special requests. Unfortunately, there are a few language barriers with some employees. But with patience, it works very well. The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable. The location by the forest fits the ambiance of the building very well. The bowling alleys and skittle alleys are also in good condition and inviting for a game. We'll definitely be back.

A very nice property with plenty of parking. The restaurant area is also very large. The rooms are nicely and modernly furnished. The bowling alley is great. The staff is also very friendly and attentive. However, there are some differences. The service on Saturday evening was not good. Although we experienced the exact opposite on Friday. Opinions are divided when it comes to the food. We were there with a larger group; 50% were satisfied, the rest were not. Of course, that's a matter of taste. Nevertheless, I would like to thank you for your excellent service and friendliness and wish you and the team continued success.

We really liked the large parking lot and the play areas for children, which made the visit enjoyable. The main courses were simple but delicious, and the desserts were also very good. The service was a bit too rushed – plates were sometimes cleared while people were still eating, and paying separately seemed unwelcome. However, with a little more calm and friendliness from the service, the experience could have been truly enjoyable all around.

We went bowling on Sunday and then had dinner. Everything was great, as always. However, I asked our waitress why the air conditioning was already off. The answer was due to a single table's request. Why this table's request took precedence over all the others was beyond us (yes, there were more guests present). It's a shame that in those temperatures, not only the other guests had to sweat, but probably the staff especially.

We stopped there for a short break. A very good selection of dishes and an excellent, very clean property.

If I had read the reviews, I certainly wouldn't have held my birthday party here. I celebrated my 75th birthday with 18 people. We had lunch and a quick coffee. The preparation and coordination with Mr. Bachmann were very precise, and we gratefully accepted his suggestions. The tip about the bowling alley was great. We were personally greeted at the celebration, and I introduced myself to the employee responsible for us. I found that very pleasant. For lunch, I ordered the "festive menu" consisting of various meats, side dishes, and various vegetables. There was also salmon on spinach. The food was delicious; all of the guests enjoyed it. The service was prompt without being intrusive and always attentive to my guests' wishes. After dinner, we went bowling for an hour. The facility was very nice and modern. Afterwards, we had a quick coffee. The cake and tarts were fresh and very, very tasty. All of my guests were full and satisfied and were very impressed with the celebration. A small playground would be nice, as the grounds are so wonderfully spacious. Perhaps it would be possible to offer a reduced price for the second room for families with children, even if there are two rooms.

We rode our bikes there and paid €6.60 for a regular roll with cheese. That's too much and a rip-off.

Good Service, nice Drinks and eating

I've been coming to the Räuberschänke since I was a child to eat and especially to play bowling...it's always nice...recently for Women's Day a DJ was invited there was a lot going on and the staff had too much to do that down at the bowling alleys you had to wait a bit long for the drinks... But that's not a point deduction for me, that's just how it is when the house is full...

A superb hotel with excellent food. You can also get active at the hotel's own skittle alley. The location is central to Freiberg and Chemnitz.

We went there to play bowling and eat. The train is a little old but ok. The food is good, middle-class and tasted good. The service was very friendly. We'll definitely come back.

We were here on February 9, 2025, for a bowling brunch with 18 people. Our kind soul and fairy was called Madlen🤗, and with her friendly and attentive manner, she ensured that no wish was left unfulfilled. 👌 The breakfast and lunch buffet for the bowling brunch were plentiful, and the selection was sensationally large. We came to a family celebration yesterday. With nice service and delicious food, it became a day to remember. Another little tip for the future, move tables/boards further away from the cloakroom.

Perfect for a rustic evening with children and large groups. Reservation required. Our waiter was a funny guy for the children and us, and children running around were not viewed with hostility. We'll remember that 😃😉

Super great location. It has several guest rooms, 2 bowling alleys with several lanes, billiards and so on. The guesthouse is clean and very quiet.

The last time I was at the Räuberschänke was before the coronavirus pandemic, and I was really impressed. The service, the ambiance, and the food were all excellent. Today we went there with the family for dinner and a game of bowling. However, I was really disappointed. The bowling alley had several problems, so we only played for 1.5 hours out of a planned 2 hours. The situation continued during the meal. The dishes arrived at the table quite a bit apart. In the end, some people had already eaten half of their meal, while others hadn't even gotten their food yet. The small "side salad" consisted of a quarter of a tomato, two lettuce leaves, and two slices of pickle. It was really slapped onto the plate with a bit of carelessness. For €18.50, I expect more than just a ready-made schnitzel with a small portion of fries, a slice of cheese, some seasoned meat, and the aforementioned salad. Ultimately, the price of the dishes is unfortunately disproportionate to the quality of the food. The food is just mediocre. It's a real shame, especially since the menu advertises home-style prices and dishes. We won't be coming back any time soon. Maybe it will go back to the way it used to be. The young male waitresses did their best, though.

Very good. Everything was perfect for us: service, cuisine, and price. We've eaten and celebrated here several times, and it doesn't matter whether we had a large party with 70 people or just a casual get-together. We're always very satisfied and would happily return.

5 stars for everything! Very nice bowling facilities in two different rooms. There are even 2 lanes where you can bowl. Billiards is also possible and there is even a smoking room for smokers! Staff very friendly and also advise what is not on the menu! It won't be the last time I go there!

Nice bowling alley, especially the "den". The kitchen isn't a highlight for me, it was better, it's more on the level of a canteen.

A mega location.....But...the kitchen is really not a highlight, which you almost expect with such great rooms. So please make sure you get better food otherwise there is no reason to go that far outside. Not that the food is bad...it tastes good. But only good...and I can do it well at home too. The guest staff is also very friendly and attentive...Top👍 So we'll be happy to come back if the food is great and...impressive.

Super friendly service, rooms were okay too, but I wouldn't eat there again. I had a kind of grill plate with 5-6 fried potato slices, a fried Viennese, a chicken liver, a slice of Kassler ham, something similar and a small pork medi. Everything together would fit in my hand, and there was also a disproportionately large plate with some salad on it, all for 19.50. I might have refrained from writing it here if I had had enough.

Far too expensive, bordering on a rip-off. We went bowling there as a school class and had to pay for the three lanes, even though there were significantly fewer of us due to illness and we only wanted two. The “gingerbread platters” were extremely expensive at over €40! Never again!

A few weeks ago we visited the Räuberschänke. First of all I would like to praise the waitress. Wonderful, friendly and courteous service from the young, dark-haired lady. Always with a smile on your face. However, you can work on the food, but it was still a positive visit thanks to the service.

We went to the so-called “Oktoberfest” at the beginning of October. Apart from white/blue paper napkins, nothing reminded us of this celebration. What was worth highlighting, however, was the really good service from the waitress. However, the biggest final disappointment for us was the musical presentation by the DC "Lutz". Musically, no trace of Oktoberfest music. Instead, music from the 80s, artists like Andrea Berg were played three times in a row. He tried to lift the mood with hard rock from the 70s. Summary: the very poorly filled hall is the result of these musical performances, and of course nobody likes to pay entrance fees for that

Very nice event location, Celebrated my birthday here. From drinking coffee to dinner and drinks, everything was great. The only small defect was some mold in the showers. Otherwise, thank you to the entire Räuberschänke team.

The restaurant and the food were a disappointment. There were three of us and everyone got their food at different times, so we didn't eat together. The Parisian schnitzel was a very manageable portion, potato balls OK, but no sauce whatsoever, which made it very dry. The venison goulash was still very hard, but tasted good. This portion was also rather small. We wouldn't dine there again.

Today was very good. The service was on point and everything came very quickly and was delicious.

We celebrated our wedding with 60 guests in the winter garden at the Räuberschänke. During the preparation, we had a few discussions with Mr. Bachmann, who always gave us very warm advice and helped ensure that our wedding was such a beautiful evening. The staff really put a lot of effort into the decoration and the service in the evening was also great. Drinks were brought quickly, which the guests also remembered positively. At this point, a huge thank you again to Mr. Hoeppner. He was responsible for us that evening and we couldn't have felt better looked after. Arrangements went very well and the schedule was always adhered to as far as possible on such a big day. The buffet was also great. It all tasted great, it was very lovingly prepared and there was enough of everything. Many thanks to the entire Räuberschenke team!!

Perfect, even if you are in transit. You get a room spontaneously. Delicious breakfast, clean, modern rooms and also a great restaurant with delicious food:) They even have a large bowling alley.

Catastrophe would like to give zero stars. Only warmed up finished products worse than Mcdonalds and the prices are way too high for such poor quality. Never again!!! However, the staff was very nice and accommodating.

We often and happily go to this restaurant since we live further away and have a distance of 30km. The ultimate in summer with small children. The beautiful play equipment doesn't annoy anyone and you can enjoy a beer in peace and quiet. Also quite pleasant in winter. You will be constantly treated to hits. Not everyone will like that, but it's subtle. The prices have risen moderately and significantly less than everywhere else in the restaurants in the area. However, the positions have become somewhat smaller. The staff is great, especially very child-friendly. The menu has been very consistent for a good 10 years. We always find something delicious. Update from August 24th, 2024 Unfortunately I have to correct the rating significantly downwards. Quality has declined at the same rate as prices have increased. The menu is minimal. And of the small selection, there wasn't even trout, for example. The service was very strange today, I had to repeat everything several times as if they didn't understand me, we weren't asked if we wanted something more to drink or if it was tasty. There was a spoon with my casserole. For what reason? The quality of the food and the cocktail left a lot to be desired. I can also prepare “potatoes with a difference” from a jar at home. Too bad. Very unfortunate. I hope you get the curve again, it would be a shame if not.

We had a family celebration here. The Robber's Tavern is ideally prepared and suitable for such things. The service is absolutely attentive and friendly. The food is delicious and the rooms are very tidy and well maintained. Thank you for everything, dear Räuberschänke team.

We (6 people) had lunch on July 20th, 2024 and then played bowling. Service was very good but the food couldn't keep up. Schnitzel etc. are all ready-made products from the freezer. A disaster in terms of taste. It's a shame, it used to be much better.

Mr. Bachmann, you can be proud of your company. On July 19, 2024 we were with 40 people to celebrate and spend the night in your house - and not for the first time. But the quality of the food, the friendliness of your team and the entire atmosphere have not diminished in all the years that I have known your establishment. You've probably gained a few more potential guests now.
