Ratskeller Brauhaus in Frechen

Wir waren im Ratskeller Frechen und rundum zufrieden. Das Essen war frisch, lecker und mit viel Sorgfalt zubereitet. Der Service war aufmerksam, freundlich und hat dafür gesorgt, dass wir uns von Anfang an wohlgefühlt haben. Auch das gemütliche Ambiente lädt zum Verweilen ein. Wer gutbürgerliche Küche und herzliche Gastfreundschaft schätzt, ist hier genau richtig. Wir kommen immer wieder gerne. Weiter so, Ihr Lieben!

Gepflegtes Kölsch, zünftige Küche und freundliche Bedienung!

Typisches Brauhaus mit leckerer Küche, dazu ein herzlicher und unaufdringlicher Service. Wir hatten Schnitzel mit Spargel. Dazu ein paar Kölsch der Marke Dom. Ich bin kein Fan vom Kölsch an sich, doch zu einem deftigen Gericht hat sich das leichte Brauerzeugnis als guter Gegenpart entfaltet. Dem Spargel hätte etwas mehr Salz gut getan. Aber halb so wild, der Salzstreuer steht ja auf dem Tisch.

Danke schön für ein leckeres Mittagessen und tolles Service...und ja, ein besonderes Dankeschön an Philipp für ausgezeichnetes humorvolles Service. Immer gerne wieder 🫶🏻

Typische, kölsche Kneipe. Top Bedienung. Essen gut erschwinglich, leider ist die Qualität nicht so dolle. Teilweise kaum gewürzt, Teilweise überstürzt.

Sehr gute Hausmannskost, urige gemütliche Gaststätte, ist auf jeden Fall einen Besuch wert

Quaint, but with a pervasive smell of mussels while drinking Kölsch – we weren't in the restaurant area, there were hardly any waiters bringing Kölsch or taking payment at the end, and the latrines were ancient. On the plus side, there were many visitors that week – average age 70+.

As part of a group art exhibition in Cologne, in which I also participated, we visited the Ratskeller Brauhaus in Frechen several days in a row. We were delighted by the welcoming atmosphere. The food was very good value for money and plentiful. The service was friendly, attentive, and helpful. We enjoyed coming here. The Ratskeller was easily accessible on foot, as our hotel was only a 5-minute walk away. We highly recommend this establishment. However, it is advisable to make a reservation in advance, especially if you plan to come with a group. The Ratskeller is quite popular. Should we find accommodation nearby again, we will certainly return. We wish you many more pleasant guests.

Update 2025: The salad with turkey breast was nothing special. I don't understand the many good reviews. Accepting cash only is outdated. 2020: The food was nothing special. The waitress wasn't overly friendly and only used her face mask as a chin guard.

Homemade food. Basic dishes with salad or vegetables. The service is very friendly and there's no long wait for your order.

The service was very friendly. Unfortunately, the food wasn't attractively presented and was very greasy. The salmon had a lot of bones, the boiled potatoes were barely salty, and our plates were covered in oil. The pork knuckle was partly dry, and the plate was also extremely greasy. The side salad consisted mainly of iceberg lettuce with a quarter of a tomato, a slice of cucumber, and yogurt on top. It was very dark at the table, and unfortunately, we weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks during the meal.

In summer, it's a great place to sit outside!

The food and drinks are very good. Every now and then the owner buys everyone a round. Highly recommended for a good brewery meal.

An absolutely fantastic lunch at the Ratskeller Brauhaus! The selection was down-to-earth, varied, and seasonally tailored—just the thing for a lunch break. My dish was freshly prepared, delicious, and lovingly presented. The portion was more than generous. The atmosphere in the brewery is rustic and cozy, and the service is attentive and friendly. A particularly positive aspect: the value for money is simply outstanding. Whether for a quick lunch or a relaxing break, the Ratskeller is a clear recommendation for anyone who appreciates good food in a pleasant atmosphere. I'd be happy to return. Five stars!

Best restaurant in town. Friendly service. The focus is on the guest.

The food is generally delicious. We did, however, find a piece of a tree and some whiskers in the food. What's a bit unappetizing is otherwise made up for by the friendly waiters and delicious beer!

The food is tasty and traditional, not too fancy. The local beer is very tasty. The place has a nice atmosphere. The service is professional, although they could speak English a little better.

A real brewery, the food is delicious and plentiful (the pancakes are particularly recommended), a beer and the world is beautiful. Always my pleasure....

Highly recommended! Great cuisine, very nice staff and Niko creates an unforgettable flair in his restaurant! You feel like you're at home! I look after the retirement home next door and was so excited to see, as I walked past, how some single residents of the home were immediately introduced by the owner and the staff to other visitors and accommodated in order to spend a sociable time drinking beer or coffee. Simply heartwarming and so nice to see this social and spontaneous initiative! In summer there is a cozy beer garden terrace where you can meet up with friends after work. Thank you for your hospitality!

Great pub, nice people, only the music could be a little quieter sometimes. After 2 hours of yelling at you, you get a little hotter 😉

The food was super tasty. I had a rump steak with fries and salad. The meat was fried to perfection, the fries were delicious and everything came together in less than 20 minutes, even though we were sitting at the table with just under 20 people. The waiter also immediately arranged for the children to get their food first. After a short time this was ready and on the table. The waiter was super attentive, extremely hospitable and accommodating!

We were there for the first time last weekend. The food was delicious and the service was super attentive and friendly (many thanks to Lucilla). It wasn't the last time we were there.

It's been a long time since I went back to eat. This time we were really disappointed, what a shame. On Grandma's knuckle plate, the remains of the pork knuckle were just fried, and the fried potatoes were just salty. The meatloaf was also better. Sorry. But it was the last time there for now.

Staff were very friendly and accommodating to us, the food was lovely and the special Kölnisch beer was very good.

Unfortunately the quality of the food left a lot to be desired. There was no spice at all, the side salad was carelessly put together and covered with some yoghurt (dressing?). I cook it better at home. Requested additions to the meal were forgotten. However, the young man in service was very friendly and service-oriented.

Leo, Ivan and Lucy are the best waiters... very nice, accommodating and your beer glass is always full. Respect to you guys

Very good pork knuckle, juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside, just as it should be, the freshly breaded schnitzel was sensational, internet access is no problem either 😉 I can only recommend it

We had Sauerbraten (thickened soze without a kick). We also had a pan that wasn't served in a pan. Both meals were not cheap but ok. Unfortunately, neither were hot either The service was good and the ambience too

The food in the restaurant was a disappointment. The peppers were cooked way too soft and the runny sauce swamped the mushy rice. The meat was edible. I'll definitely never go there again.

The food is very good. What particularly stands out (for me) is the flexibility. I have a lactose and fructose intolerance and everything was taken into account. A nice brewery, unfortunately with a loveless kitchen. Maybe hoping for too much. The service was always good, as they say in the restaurant industry, so it left a lot to be desired. The first impression was good, but at second glance, there are better ones. Quite okay in terms of price. Make up your own mind, but I only give it two stars, sorry

Yesterday, after a long time, my wife and I went to the Ratskeller again with friends. Our food, drinks and service were very good, just as we have known it for years. We can only recommend the Ratskeller.

Wir waren zu viert essen. Da haben wir den Kellner Leo kennengelernt. Super cooler Typ, sehr schnell und begabt. Sieht man absolut nicht jeden Tag. Für solche Kellner gibt es dann ordentlich Trinkgeld! Der Besitzer kann vom Glück sprechen mit so einer Bedienung. Das Essen war toll (Jägerschnitzel, Rumpsteak, Cordon Blue). Gerne wieder! Rustikale Einrichtung die gut zum Restaurant passt. Die Restaurantfachfrau war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Kann ich absolut empfehlen.

...wir waren mit 10 Personen heute hier (reserviert). Und wir hatten das Glück (wussten wir nicht), dass heute tolle Live-Musik gespielt wurde. Das Lokal war dem entsprechend proppe voll. Dennoch wurden wir in allen Punkten fix bedient. Die Gerichte sind halt (und verständlicher Weise) von Convenience geprägt. Aber so wurden wir alle zeitnah bedient und es war dennoch recht lecker. Danke für den tollen Abend heute und wir alle sind begeistert. Und Danke an die tolle Dame, die uns heute begleitet (bedient) hat.

Sehr freundliche Arbeitskräfte (insbesondere Leo) sehr nett, höflich und sympathisch. Das Essen ist sehr lecker. Freue mich das nächste mal dahin zu gehen und empfehle es jedem!!

Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Bedienung war atemberaubend. Ein sehr schöner kroatischer Kellner mit großer Nase ich glaube er hieß Leo war super lieb. Würde ich jedem empfehlen.

Das Essen, die Freundlichkeit und der Service im Ratskeller sind immer hervorragend. Wir essen oft dort weil uns das Ambiente sehr gut gefällt und die Atmosphäre gemütlich ist. Das Domkoelsch immer aus einem Fass schmeckt super und hat eine perfekte Temperatur. Wenn das Glas leer ist kommt schnell ein neues. Wir haben schon viele freundliche Menschen jeden Alters dort kennengelernt und und klasse Gespräche geführt. Alles gut bis zum Bezahlen. KEINE KARTENZSHLUNG. Man kommt sich vor wie ein ertappter Betrüger. Keinerlei Hinweis im Lokal. Ein absolutes NOGO.

Die Speisen haben eine gute Portion waren vom Geschmack her doch sehr fade.Hier hehlte es einfach an der Grundwürze.

Klassisches Brauhaus mit leckeren und typischen regionalen Gerichten. Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist völlig ok und schmecken tut es auch. Mettbrötchen und n lecker Kölsch als "Vorspeise". Freundlicher und schneller Service.....sorry...aber wer meint es gibt im Brauhaus frische Soßen usw.und deshalb Punktabzug gibt....Unverständlich.

Bratkartoffeln ohne Speck schmecken leider nicht so gut. Das war früher anders. Salat mit einer feisten Mayonnaise - Joghurt-Sauce zu ertränken ist auch keine gute Idee. Vielleicht wird es ja wieder anders.

Toller, freundlicher Service. Große Portionen. Mir reichte eine Kinderportion völlig aus.

Ich gebe zwei Punkte, weil der Kellner/ das Personal freundlich war. Das Ambiente ist fürchterlich, es ist nicht mal Alt-Charmant, es erinnert an eine alte Supermarkt-Filiale, welche mit ein paar Stühlen versehen wurde. Da Essen überzeugt ebensowenig, vermutlich alles Fertigware :-

Im Ratskeller in Frechen war ich oft essen. Das Essen, Schnitzel, Bratwurst, Leber, Kartoffeln, Salate, Soßen haben mir immer gut geschmeckt. Dazu ist der Besitzer sehr freundlich und auch der Koch und das Personal, die mich immer mit einem Lächeln freundlich begrüßen. Das Dom Kölsch, frisch vom Fass schmeckt köstlich. Gerne gehe ich auch mit Freunden dort essen, die auch immer zufrieden waren. Dazu mag ich das Ambiente. Oft gibt der Besitzer ein Kölsch oder einen Schnaps aus. Vielen Dank an alle. Extremely friendly service and great food!

Schon 3 mal haben wir Mäusen im Laden gesehen die ganz normal unter unsere Füße nach Versteck suchten … Will garnicht vorstellen was in der Küche nachts ab geht…. Personal war freundlich ,das Essen war okay …

Wir saßen zu zweit an einem Vierertisch an dem ein Zweiertisch direkt dranstand. Der Kellner kam, zog ein „Reserviert“ Schild vom Zweiertisch „unauffällig“ rüber und verwies anschließend darauf. Auf die Anfrage, ab wann denn reserviert wäre konnte er keine Auskunft geben. Dann meinte er, er hätte einen anderen Tisch für zwei. Dort angekommen stellten wir fest, dass es sich dabei um den letzen Tisch in der hintersten Ecke handelte. Er stelllte uns noch den zweiten Stuhl dazu und warf zwei Karten auf den Tisch. Da uns dieser Tisch aber nicht gefiel, wollten wir zu unserer ersten Wahl zurück. Doch hatte der unfreundliche Kelnner inzwischen eine Gruppe von sechs Personen hin umziehen lassen, die zuvor bereits woanders gesessen hatten. Leider reines Profitdenken - Kundenfreundlichkeit Fehlanzeige! Wir kommen nie wieder, versprochen!
