Delicious home-brewed beer – light, amber, or dark – and excellent food at moderate prices... it doesn't get much better than this. All this in a rustic atmosphere with lovely people. Simply wonderful, and we'll definitely be back.

We visited again after a long time and immediately felt welcome and very comfortable. The drinks, some of which are available on-site, are excellent, and on some days there's a very generous hot buffet. We'll definitely be back more often!

Friendly service, good beer and food. I ordered a child's portion because I wasn't very hungry, and I was offered one dumpling instead of two. Unfortunately, I still had to pay the full price, even though I had a slightly smaller portion as agreed. A shame. Card payment was accepted, which isn't always the case.

We spontaneously decided to stop for lunch, and the restaurant was quite busy. There were still free tables in a side room, but the waitress rudely informed us that we couldn't sit there because she was working alone. Understandable, but it's the way you say it that matters... she could have communicated it more politely. A shame.

We spent the first weekend of Advent in Hannoversch Münden, and I had booked the Brauhaus (brewery) from home. The booking process was incredibly easy. The Brauhaus is located in the cellar with a beautiful vaulted ceiling. In addition to the regular menu, there was a fantastic winter buffet with antipasti, meat, fish, numerous side dishes, and dessert. Although it was quite busy, the service was impeccable at all times. The food was of excellent quality, and the prices were more than fair. Highly recommended.

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the drinks or the food. We were really looking forward to this brewery, as it has pretty good reviews. We were there today at 5:40 p.m., and by 6:00 p.m., no one from the service staff had come to our table to ask what we wanted. The restaurant was barely half full, and there were two waiters standing behind the bar, looking bored. A third waiter wandered around the tables here and there, but also slowly walked past our table after 15 minutes without asking us, even though we had already closed the menus. We left the restaurant disappointed.

Upon entering the brewery, the employees and owners looked quite annoyed. After we were assigned a tiny table, they chatted at the bar and didn't ask if we wanted something to eat or drink. Other tables had empty glasses on their tables for a very long time. None of the employees felt responsible enough to ask again if we wanted a new drink. After about 20 minutes, we left the place and had an excellent meal and drink at an adjacent pizzeria. The waitress asked us what we wanted after just two minutes. I wouldn't recommend this brewery to anyone.

We had a "Brauhaus Bowl" and the Sauerfleisch (sour meat). The latter is a bit more like brawn, but with very lean, good-quality meat. Great. Good, fast, and very friendly service. I highly recommend the house dark beer.

Great beer and food! I eat here every time I visit Hann Münden

Today, October 12, 2025, after our long drive, we went to your brewery to try your "great" advertised beer. And we were immediately turned away because we "just" wanted to drink and not eat anything! The guests who arrived AFTER us were immediately seated because they wanted something to eat! Are you serious? You have a great "brewery" there! You can keep your beer to yourself, and I'll be sure to drum up interest so that no one needs to visit you. Beer lovers are obviously not welcome!

The light beer is truly delicious, and so is the veal liver! It took quite a while, though, to quench our initial thirst. We watched as the glasses were filled from the tap four or five times with small amounts of beer each time before they were finally ready to be served. I was going a little crazy inside, thinking, "Oh, wow!" 😅 Apart from that, everything was great.

The service is friendly, competent, and quick, even when it's busy. The food is delicious and reasonably priced. The beer on offer and the location are truly special. A must-see and highly recommended!

I arrived in Hann. Münden on a business trip and, while strolling through the beautiful old town, found this truly excellent and quaint inn. The food (beef liver... something you rarely find these days) was excellent, and despite my being a big eater, the portion was more than filling. The home-brewed beer is highly recommended... very, very tasty. The dark beer has a good malt flavor and a wonderful aftertaste. The home-made schnapps is also delicious. All in all, the Ratsbrauhaus is highly recommended... top 👍🏻

We recently had a reservation at this restaurant and were very disappointed with our visit. Although we had made a reservation in advance, we were not given a table outside because apparently, outside reservations were not possible—a fact that was not communicated to us. We were then asked to find a free seat outside ourselves, but we were left alone to do so, with no assistance from the staff. After this incident, we felt unwelcome, which unfortunately continued with our order. We had specifically requested a 0.0 beer to ensure it was alcohol-free, and yet we were served a drink that did not meet our expectations. When the restaurant manager approached us about this, we received neither an apology nor a satisfactory solution—only excuses and, ultimately, an attitude that made us feel like we were not being taken seriously. Overall, our experience at this restaurant was very disappointing and beyond unpleasant.

Delicious food and good service

We discovered this place 6 years ago and have been consistently impressed by the food ever since. Both the quality and quantity are top-notch. The owner is chatty and friendly. We recommend the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. We look forward to our visit every time.

No worries to come here and have something to eat. I tried Gebratener Leberkase and it was really delicious, served with fried egg. Wildgulash was as well very good but Nudeln was rather pasta not typical noodles but anyway very tasty. Definitely worth to try Weizen - one of the best I have ever had, except for PG4 Johanness's wheat beer of course☝️🙂

Classic town hall cellar experience. Really cozy and great atmosphere. The food was ok and reasonable for the price. But it's not the huge gastronomic experience that attracts. The town hall is worth a visit - the facade from 1605 is a feast! Remember to reserve a table - especially if you want to eat for dinner. Great and friendly service.

We stopped by today after a company outing with 15 people, pre-booked. Unfortunately, there were four seats missing, so we had to make our own. The food was good and tasty, but if you wanted sweet potato fries instead of regular fries, the hefty €4.50 surcharge was a bit excessive. My Leberkäse (meatloaf) came with fried potatoes, and even though I skipped them, I was charged an additional €4.50 instead of perhaps the difference. Mr. Christoph's service and friendliness unfortunately need improvement (but this is well known). When asked about card payments, he replied rather briskly, "I can't do that right now; I have to get the device," and left, annoyed. In the meantime, he "parked" his card reader and wallet at the next table and seemed distracted and bored. While clearing the dishes, a colleague was asked what was wrong with her plate. When she replied there was too much, the comment "too bad" came. What did he mean by that? He was also annoyed about giving change because, according to him, he didn't have the appropriate bills left. Tips and repeat guests depend on friendliness and service... always keep that in mind (I know what I'm talking about, as I work in the restaurant industry myself). A server who lets the customer feel their displeasure is out of place. The manager himself was very friendly.

It is a plaza with a fairly large restaurant, you won't really have to wait for a table. The food is fresh and has a wide variety on the menu. The beer of the region tastes quite nice. After “mittagessen”, you can take a walk through the downtown streets and the town center, plus the river is very close, and it's quite beautiful.

For our wedding on July 5th, 2025, we chose the caterer from Ratsbrauhaus—and we haven't regretted it for a second. The initial consultation was pleasant, and our ideas were perfectly executed. The delivery, the setup, the entire event—everything was flawless. The food was, as always, excellent, delicious, and a real hit. Thank you so much for making our wedding perfect with your service!

We ate here twice in the evenings last week. Due to the weather, we sat downstairs in the cellar. It was very pleasant in the hot weather. Excellent service, a lovely atmosphere, and delicious food. Certainly one of the best places in Hannoversch Münden for dinner and a delicious beer.

We were on a short break in Hann. Münden and ended up at the Ratsbrauhaus during a stroll through the town. The server came to us quickly and was very friendly. The beer and food were good, and the price was reasonable.

Das gewünschte Abendessen: Spargel mit Schnitzel und Pommes war ein einziger Reinfall! Der Spargel war fast noch roh; auf meine Bitte hin ging er zurück in die Küche zum Garen, während die Pommes und das Schnitzel bei mir auf dem Teller blieben. Nach mehr als 15 Minuten kam der Spargel dann zurück, der Rest des Essens war schon fast kalt. So macht man das einfach nicht! Aber der Höhepunkt war, dass der Spargel immer noch nicht so gar war, dass man ihn mit Genuss essen konnte. Das zuständige Personal war zudem offensichtlich überfordert. Auf bestellte Getränke musste man sehr lange warten, teils auch daran erinnern. Alles in allem ein großer Reinfall und aus unserer Sicht nicht empfehlenswert.

Hey everyone, yesterday we had a proper asparagus dinner at the Ratsbrauhaus. Because of the gorgeous weather, we naturally sat outside. In the heart of the beautiful old town, we had asparagus with pork schnitzel and asparagus with chicken schnitzel. The portions were decent, and the asparagus was cooked to perfection. If it had been real hollandaise sauce instead of a store-bought one, considering the price and the ambiance, it would have been five stars. The staff was friendly but not overly attentive, even though it wasn't very busy at that time. Still, definitely worth a visit. Best, Grofy 🙌🔥🤙

We ate outside in the square - a lovely peaceful spot. The only drawback is that it is a large space and some tables inevitably are a long way from the kitchen. On the other hand you get to admire the fabulous town hall. I had asparagus with pork schnitzel and potatoes for a reasonable 29 euros and my son had the vegetarian risotto. My dish was splendid and I hadn't expected the schnitzel to be so large. The risotto my son said was the best dish he had had all holiday. We had a couple of beers too which were good. The service was a bit slow but then they had a lot of tables to cover as well as big distances. All in all a great place to go.

The restaurant is very well-maintained, the staff are very friendly and up for a bit of fun, the food is good, and thankfully the selection isn't overly large like in many other restaurants where you can't even remember the beginning of the menu. It's worth a visit.

Man fragt sich, wieso ihr dieses Restaurant als Nummer eins in Hann Münden bewertet. Die Location und das Interieur sind okay. Aber wer gut essen möchte, sollte woanders hingehen. Hier bekommt man sogenannte „Hausmannskost.“ Viel und fettig. Als wir uns, nach dem eher „deftigen“ Erlebnis noch einen Nachtisch gönnen wollten, war die Küche bereits geschlossen. und zwar um 20:31 Uhr. Begründung: „heute sind zu wenig Gäste da, es lohnt sich nicht, länger in der Küche zu bleiben.“ Die Bedienung war freundlich, das Selbstgebraute Bier war gut.

A very nice restaurant located in the cellar vaults, serving its own brewed beer. It's quaint and cozy, and there's a separate room for larger groups. The staff is very friendly, even to children. You can sit outside on the market square, right in the city center. The food was very quick and delicious. The restrooms are clean and in very good condition. We'll be coming here again, as the atmosphere is great and the service is also very good.

Super Restaurant für Familienfeiern..... April 2025 Wir waren mit 45 Goldhochzeitsgästen im Ratsbrauhaus. Anlassbedingt war viel zu organisieren und abzusprechen. Dies ist großartig gelungen und wir durften stressfrei unsere Goldhochzeit feiern. Alle unsere Gäste waren begeistert von der Location. Das Restaurant ist super und hat Charakter. Am besten war die ausführliche Vorbereitung der MenueAuswahl und die außergewöhnlich gelungene Küche. Man hat uns wirklich alles Verständnis der Welt entgegen gebracht und uns zudem familiär behandelt. Die Goldhochzeit hatte entsprechend großzügige Kommentare denn es fehlte uns an nichts. Unser Fazit: Immer wieder gerne Gast im Ratsbrauhaus ! : ))) Tipp: Nehmt Euch Zeit für die wunderschöne Fachwerkstadt HannMünden. Ein Traum! Gerne auch eine Stadtführung miterleben und eine Flussfahrt mit der MS Weserstein und ein Besuch der Stadtkonditorei Mengel

We had a very pleasant visit to the Ratsbrauhaus in Hann. Münden. The historic ambiance of the building is truly beautiful and contributes greatly to the cozy atmosphere. The menu offers a good selection of regional dishes, and the food was delicious and freshly prepared. We also enjoyed the house beer. The service was friendly and welcoming, and overall satisfactory. We would particularly like to emphasize that the Ratsbrauhaus is very family-friendly: There are changing tables in both restrooms – both the men's and women's restrooms. Unfortunately, this is still not a given these days and therefore deserves special praise. We would be happy to return and recommend the Ratsbrauhaus – a lovely place for a relaxed meal in pleasant surroundings.

Everything here is absolutely delicious. From the home-brewed beer to the fresh salad bar and the main courses. We loved the brewery-style sausage and the homemade head cheese so much that we went back for dinner the very next day. Then we tried the homemade bratwurst and the sea bass. Absolutely delicious, but after a 34 km run, we still had room for dessert. The absolute highlight: iced Kaiserschmarren (shredded pancake). It was well worth it. Not to mention the very friendly staff and the excellent value for money. By the way: This text was not generated by AI ;-)

For me, the best restaurant in Hann. Münden! The ambiance is very clean and a mix of old and modern. The brewing kettle looks very interesting. The salad bar/buffet, including antipasti, was really delicious. An unbeatable price for €4.50. Except for the salad and beans, everything was slightly pre-seasoned. The main courses arrived at the table at the same time and warm. The asparagus was fresh, the schnitzel was crispy, and the fish was perfectly seasoned. The dessert, a take on Kaiserschmarrn, was extremely delicious. The beer, home-brewed, in all varieties, was very tasty. The menu is concise, but there's something for everyone. The craft smoothie is amazing 😀 We are extremely satisfied. Outstanding value for money. 5 people with asparagus, fish, and schnitzel for just under €200.

I was there for the first time today and it didn't taste good at all. I had a burger, the meat was so dry and hard. Service was nice but not really motivated. Let's see if I can come back again...

So the service for us wasn't particularly ambitious and seemed rather lackluster. We once had schnitzel with mushrooms, here the mushroom sauce was served separately, once we had schnitzel with chanterelles - here the whole mushroom sauce was spread on the schnitzel so that the breading was soggy, annoying. We had seen on the menu that you could choose between chicken and pork, we had forgotten that, but the waiter didn't ask us about it. The food and beer tasted quite good, we liked the ambience.

For me, a clear 5 stars, the waitresses are friendly and motivated, the home-made beer is cool and tasty. I chose the two black beer bratwursts with Einbecker mustard, fried potatoes and cabbage salad and my wife chose the Brauhaus burger. What I can say about my dish is that the portion size blows you away and the taste is very tasty. The mustard was poured into a waffle cup, which was visually impressive. The Eisenbart Schwarzbier and the Dunkel Beer (yes, two different types) both tasted absolutely delicious and the Schwarzbier really surprised me with its idiosyncratic character and sometimes reminded me strongly of English Real Ales. The dark had shades of IPAs which was a highlight for me. Unfortunately, my wife didn't agree with the burgers, but quote, "She's never had such good fries before." I only tried one bite of the citizen, I like the roll. You could write a lot here about the ambience etc. But it's better to go there yourself and treat yourself. With that in mind, I would like to greet the Ratsbrauhaus team and say: We'll be back. See you soon.

Phenomenal beer, good quality tradittional little pricey food. Located most central in very popular toutist town may be a bit more hospitality esp when the pace is almost empty and a hint of english will be a good add ot the cozy authentic German atmosphere.

We decided to go there without a reservation, no problem for 2 people. We had sour meat and burgers...both very good and freshly prepared. The highlight for us was the BIERamisu...the beer liqueur was excellent...the staff was very attentive, friendly and quick...a successful evening, highly recommended

Nettes Ambiente, Bier hervorragend. Das Essen entspricht nicht unserer Vorstellung. Die Brauhausfetzen waren das totale Disaster, Fleisch kam gefühlt vom Vortag und wurden in der Micro aufgewärmt. Für den Preis eine Frechheit. Die Schwarzbierwürste ok, aber auch nicht wirklich lecker. Wir können das Essen in keiner Weise empfehlen.

I would have liked to try the advertised "black medicine"... but on Saturday evening there was neither black nor dark beer... it's a shame... the light one was nothing special, the food was delicious (beer bratwurst with coleslaw and... Fried potatoes) I was happy that senior portions were offered...The bill was only -€1.50 even though I only had one bratwurst instead of two and also fewer side dishes - that's outrageous - you don't need to offer that. ...

Delicious beer, but an incredibly boring and always the same menu with - for portion sizes and quality - completely exorbitant prices. The highly touted Brauhaus shreds are nothing more than a gyros like you get from any German butcher. The schnitzels are okay, but not a revelation. I would like more creativity, variety and unique selling points for the cuisine that is so heavily advertised.

Great economy in the cellar with its own beer. The salad buffet tends to come from a can. Mushroom cream sauce from the packet. Wild goulash was delicious, but the pasta water was mixed into the plate. So beer, ambience and service ok, There is better food.

Good bourgeois cuisine. We were there with a company party on a weekday evening. Reservations are mandatory, it was well attended. The food and the pub ambience were nice. Service took a little longer, which was less surprising given the number of people. Otherwise recommended without reservation.
