We stumbled upon the brewery today by chance – and certainly not for the last time. Everything was absolutely perfect (see the stars). The portions were not only very generous but also incredibly delicious! I had the salad with turkey strips, and it was the best I've ever eaten out. Great service and very reasonable prices. We stopped there on Saturday at lunchtime while passing through. The kitchen wasn't supposed to open for another half hour, but they let us sit down anyway, making an exception and serving us right away. Thank you for that! We had to get to the airport. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The waiters were very friendly. The 0.2-liter glasses took some getting used to for us from Lower Franconia 😉 The atmosphere was also very nice. If we ever fly out of Düsseldorf again, we'll definitely stop by.

I highly recommend this restaurant, but I would be careful not to use the new employee named Leon as a server, as he was extremely rude and completely irritated my 8-year-old son with his antisocial behavior! I don't care if he was having a bad day or was going through withdrawal, as he explained after his apology. You should always be hospitable, especially in front of customers, and leave your private life at home!!!!! Minus points for the brewery thanks to the friendly waiter, Leon Cusumano! Otherwise, the food is top-notch, highly recommended!

We are very friendly people. The following descriptions concern our experience and our personal opinion. We entered the restaurant and shouted a loud, friendly greeting to everyone. Nothing was replied. As usual from other locals, we didn't just sit down, we waited. Since no one greeted us or paid us any attention, after a few minutes I politely asked one of the waiters behind the counter if we could just choose a seat here. Without looking at me, they just whispered to me: “One moment!” At some point someone came to sit us down. We weren't greeted now either. The restaurant wasn't very busy, but we were given a table right next to the toilet. If the restaurant was fully booked, we would completely understand, but with so many free tables, seat guests at the toilet? Especially since it's inexplicable to me how you can even put a table there. The whole time there were people walking behind me and I saw the inside of the toilet room every few minutes and kept getting a whiff of the smell of the room. Not acceptable for me personally. Nevertheless, we remained friendly. The order was received coolly. The food came quite quickly. The man with long gray hair was the first to be friendly. He also wished you bon appetit. The schnitzel was nothing special. Very thick and hardly prompt. The lettuce was a little brown in places. The fried potatoes were very good. The knuckle was very tough on the outside. You couldn't cut the skin at all. The rest was really quite good, the food would have gotten a C+ from us alone. Service was the big problem. Our glasses remained empty during the meal, no one came to ask for another order... so we wouldn't go to this place again.

We've been regular guests for years, our favorite restaurant has always been and like every year today we had goose leg with red cabbage and dumplings. Goose leg was very good, but unfortunately this time everything was served together on a small plate so that the red cabbage and the leg were floating in the sauce and the red cabbage was very thin. Dear management, we actually know things differently from you. Red cabbage and sauce extra, so that everyone can decide for themselves how much sauce they want on their plate, even for the small amount of red cabbage the price was not justified overall. Sorry, that's why I deducted one star 🌟 for dinner today. Otherwise, as always, all the employees don't get upset and everyone, as always, is super friendly and nice, always happy to come to you and have a delicious beer. Merry Christmas again to everyone.

Cheese spaetzle was super disgusting. simply pasta with pizza cheese. The menu says it is prepared with paprika. Instead with cauliflower, brocoli, tomatoes, carrots. really disgusting. The glasses were also not cleaned properly.

We were there on a Friday evening and had a really excellent evening: the beer is really great, not a bit bitter, but nice and tasty. The Köbes (waiter) was very nice and on the ball and so we always had fresh drinks and a tidy table. Since some of us had mussels, which, as we all know, take up a lot of space on the table because of the shells, the Köbes came by uninvited and provided us with fresh plates for the shells. That's what I call attentive service - even though the brewery was full. However, there was one small drawback - the toilets on the ground floor needed a general overhaul. We'd love to come back - but then by public transport or Uber, because everyone at the table should really enjoy the delicious beer!! Absolute recommendation!

We were at the brewery today and what we experienced there doesn't fit the Ratinger brewery at all. It was about the seats we had chosen, and the waiter didn't like it and swore in Polish. Then we both had the redfish fillet, where mine smelled unpleasantly of wax to my nose. I grumbled the fish from the waiter, whereupon another business waiter came and I told him so. He became unfriendly and disrespectful towards me personally. He took the plate and left. Guests don't have to be treated like this, bottom drawer. The brewery doesn't deserve a star.

Were there on November 1st, 2024 and ate there in the evening. I had the schnitzel with fresh champions in cream sauce with French fries and salad. Even though it was quite busy, the food came quickly after ordering. The food was warm enough. Let's start with the schnitzel. The schnitzel was quite thick and fried quite dark, transitioning from dark brown to black. But it could only be seen in a small corner because it was drowned in sauce. The meat was quite firm and almost dry. Probably because, as the dark coloring indicated, it was fried for far too long. The comparison with other schnitzels at the table also confirmed this impression. The sauce had virtually no flavor. After nothing. There were maybe 5 mushrooms in total, which were actually fresh, in the sauce, but they didn't give off any aroma. In addition, as you can see in the pictures, there was a foreign sauce in the middle of my sauce. Probably hollandaise or bearnaise. It doesn't work at all! This is not allowed to come out or you ask the guest if it bothers him. The fries were ok but nothing special. The same goes for the salad, dressed with dressing from the packet. All in all, everything is ok for a brewery, hence 1 star deduction. I deducted the second star because the cheapest drink on the menu wasn't non-alcoholic, but beer. This is a violation of the law and this regulation is not set this way for nothing. Sorry, doesn't work at all! Not even in a brewery. The decoration is pleasing. What I would like to mention is that we also had the sauerbraten at the table. This one was really good, tasty, and definitely the better choice. Unfortunately I had the schnitzel.

We were in the brewery for the first time and were thrilled. The service was very good, very attentive even though it was full. Our food was also great. It looked good and tasted very good Food and service get full points. I deduct a star for the ambience. It was cold outside, the door was open and the curtain didn't keep out the cold, so it got cold in the back. Otherwise it was very crowded, there were a lot of guests standing at the counter. The mood was good and it was a typical brewery atmosphere.

Went here last year with a larger group and everything was brilliant. This year, as always, the food was great, but unfortunately the service was terribly unfriendly. Have never experienced anything like this in Düsseldorf and the surrounding area. Too bad. was our last visit.

Dear Mr. Poensgen, We are a large family and organize a visit to your restaurant in Ratingen (Brauhaus) every 2 - 3 weeks and have been doing so for decades now! (Approximately 10 people) We are therefore regular guests and the entire staff knows us. At this point we would like to say a lot of praise to the entire staff! They have a really great team! We have heard their price increases several times in the years following the Corona pandemic and strong inflation. Even though it is of course difficult to digest a price increase of almost 50% within a short period of time (Diana Schnitzel from €12.5 to €18.5), that is NOT the subject of my complaint! We are willing to accept this increase because of the very good service from the entire staff and the good cuisine! What we CANNOT accept and is now the subject of the complaint is that at the same time as the increase, the portions were reduced!!!! We think this is an absolute disgrace!! We were there again on Saturday July 6th and my brother-in-law and I had to order an extra portion of Diana Schnitzel to fill us up as usual! As far as I'm concerned, you can increase the price to €20 per portion, but at least keep them "generous" like old times! I had already noticed this during my penultimate visit to week 23, but this Saturday the portions were really puny! We don't want to change our regular brewery after all these years!! I hope you take appropriate action. It's in your hands!

Tijdens een terugreis zochten we een Duits restaurant in de buurt van Ratingen. Door Tripadvisor kwamen we bij dit restaurant terecht. Ondanks dat we niet hadden gereserveerd, was er nog plek voor ons op een drukke vrijdagavond. We hebben heerlijk gegeten en gedronken. We werden snel en vriendelijk geholpen en kregen tijdig ons eten. Prijs-kwaliteit verhoudig is erg goed.

Beautiful brewery with Ratinger Alt. Our food portions were large and it was good. Prices are okay. Reservations are recommended for special days. Luckily we didn't have a problem. Just getting parking is a problem if you don't know your way around.

Already visited on January 24th, 2024 - unfortunately my review at the time was not posted / We are generally not big schnitzel eaters and therefore don't come that often, but whenever we come we look forward to it because it is always consistently solid and good here. The service staff feel like they're part of the inventory. They've been working there for so long - it's always a bit like arriving back where you just left after a year's break 🙂 It's always very well attended - regardless of whether it's during the week or on the weekend , so it's worth making a reservation. I think I paid €18.90 for Schnitzel Diana with salad in January 2024. Of course it has become more expensive in recent years, but that is completely normal and appropriate these days. We are already looking forward to our next visit.

Very tasty food and great service

Waren mit der Familie (13 Personen) am dritten Adentssamstag da. Das Lokal ist riesig und war, wie nicht anders zu erwarten, brechend voll und dementsprechend der Lärmpegel. Gut dass wir den Tisch schon im Oktober bestellt hatten. Es dauerte sehr lange bis unsere Getränkebestellung aufgenommen wurde. Auch auf das Essen mußte sehr lange gewartet werden. Ich habe mich für die Schweinshaxe entschieden. Das war nicht so der Renner da sie sehr trocken und die Kruste knochenhart war,kaum zu beißen, alles andere als resch. Vermutlich hatte das Teil schon einge Stunden zum Warmhalten irgendwo gelegen. Entschädigt wurde ich als leidenschaftlich Biertrinker durch das RATINGER ALT, nur zu empfehlen und deshalb würde ich auch wieder hingehen.

Waren gestern Abend spontan im Ratinger Brauhaus. Essen, Ambiente top. Service geht anders. Statt einer freundlichen Begrüßung, zeigte man uns aus der Ferne 2 freie Tische. Wir entschieden uns und würden nur kurze Zeit später von einem Kellner angesprochen, wir mögen uns umsetzten, denn der Tisch würde für eine große Gruppe gebraucht werden. Erstmal kein Problem. Allerdings wurden wir an ein Tisch gesetzt, wo Gäste noch dabei waren zu gehen. D.h. schnatternde Damen die um den Tisch standen und sich zu organisieren versuchten. Und abgerechnet war wohl auch noch nicht... Für uns mehr als unangenehm. Iwann wurde dann auch der Tisch abgeräumt. An dem Tisch den wir verlassen sollten, setzten sich 4 Personen. Ich schätze hier sind einfach nicht alle Willkommen. Es gibt kein lächeln, der Kellner wirkte fast irritiert, als ich mein Essen bestellte, möglicherweise erwartete dieser eine Fremdsprache... Im großen und ganzen dann leider doch eine Enttäuschung. Wir folgen dem Rat und werden das nächste Mal zur Konkurrenz nebenan gehen.
