We were only there for dessert. They have a large selection of fresh delicious cakes. Also, I had the best strudel in my life - they serve it with whipped cream and a scoop of ice cream, which is quite delicious on its own. Highly recommended!

We went for dinner here. The food was nice and traditional, although a relatively limited menu. Portions weren't huge. Clientele were primarily older generation.

This was the restaurant I had chosen and planned specifically for the first night of our European holiday so was really excited when we finally arrived. We arrived at about 7.45pm which was fine as the restaurant states it opens until 10pm - there were a good number of diners already there but still quite a number of empty tables. The people behind the bar noted we were waiting but didn't come over, instead having a discussion before eventually a woman came over to us. She asked how many people the table was for and when we said it was for two, she immediately said "No - the kitchen is closed". I tried to say that we were in good time to eat but again got the same curt answer, no apology, no explanation. She followed us out of the door - either to make sure we were leaving or to ensure no one else came in! We felt really stupid, and at the same time reeling from a response which was, to be honest, crap. I'm sure it's not representative of Magdeburg as we did find a place afterwards where the service was kind, the food was good and we weren't made to feel like a problem - but I'm still feeling in equal parts, humiliated and gobsmacked by the whole experience and it's been a very long time that anyone has made me feel like that. I thought "hospitality" meant a warm welcome and a customer experience which made you want to come back again and again. This restaurant made it clear that we, and our business were not wanted and as a result, we will never return.

The restaurant is very nice, what strikes me is the staff! This is not good for problems, let alone communicating in advance that the invoice will be sent by . CARD PAYMENT is only allowed from 20 euros, you will only find out about this when paying if you didn't have a menu and will you be informed that this is on the menu? So as I said, I ordered 3 beers without a menu and was insulted and discriminated against that I should know this? I told the waitress why she hadn't told me this straight away, it was my problem and not hers. That's how it is with German politeness. Service culture

In connection with an anniversary, our self-help group met here for dinner. The table was beautifully set and the service was very friendly and personable, and also patient with us, as the decision to eat was not easy for everyone. There were also some sensitivities because not everyone can tolerate everything. It was beautiful.

Unfortunately, the Rathauscaffee no longer needs to answer the phone. I tried for an hour. Either you don't answer or the receiver is put aside. And not accidentally placed next to it, no, just taken off and put down. I was on the line and could hear the conversations. Really a shame.

Very nice restaurant, stylishly furnished. If you want to eat honest, good German cuisine between all the system restaurants, international snack bars and convenience stores, this is the right place for you. No frills, tasty food, reasonable prices. If you don't have time or don't earn enough, you should just go to the kebab opposite - full and cheap is the trend for some.

We stopped in Magdeburg to have a break and something to eat and chose The Rathaus cafe as it looked lovely. On entering we stood waiting for a little while until a waitress finally approached us and spoke to us in German as expected but it was in an aggressive manner and when I used the few words of German I had to say we didn’t speak German but English she just snapped at us turned and walked away. Another woman came and directed us to a table. If it hadn’t been raining outside and we hadn’t needed refreshments we would have turned and walked straight back out. Seriously dreadful treatment and there are other reviews saying they have experienced the same so obviously not a one off occurrence.

Unfortunately, today the pork loin with chanterelles turned out to be three small schnitzels with large chanterelles that had been fried for too long, with a dark(!) sauce underneath. The croquettes were ok. Everything tasted ok, which is what I told the waitress. But it wasn't pork loins that I was served and charged for at lunch today! It's a shame, they would have liked to have been able to point out on their own initiative that the loins are out and that they shouldn't be charged under any circumstances!

Als erstes fiel uns der Service auf, lockerer Umgang mit flotten Sprüchen, mit hohem Tempo lag die Karte auf dem Tisch, wurden Bestellungen abgefragt und ratzfatz standen Getränke und Speisen auf dem Tisch. Die Speisen waren sehr lecker: Würzfleisch als Vorspeise und das Braumeistersteak im Hauptgang ließen keine Wünsche offen. Sehr preiswert dazu. Das Lokal wird offenkundig auch von den Einheimischen gut frequentiert. Wir empfehlen.

We were invited to the town hall café again this year. I still consider it mediocre. Everything is a bit shady, lots of pensioners. The friendly and competent service and the not high prices should be highlighted positively. However, you can also get food according to these prices - small portions, overcooked canned peas, etc. When I eat out, I expect it to be fresh and well cooked. These expectations are not met here. The restaurant is okay for pensioners who want to sit together for comparatively little money and who may no longer be able to cook for themselves.

A nice atmosphere, a little bit like English pop. Cozy. The service was very, very nice. It's also fun to be served by them. Unfortunately two small drawbacks. Firstly, the English card could also be placed outside in the viewing box, and then inside too. And secondly: The quality of the food has deteriorated. They should definitely make improvements here, otherwise the guests will stay away. The good house on the site doesn't deserve that otherwise.

Dinner needs to be improved Today I was there with friends and there was no waitress who wanted to get me a card from the front. The waitress was very unfriendly and annoyed. When I asked if someone was coming to see us, there was no response, so we left the cafe and will not enter it again and recommend it I'm very disappointed 👎🏻👎🏻

The portions are an absolute joke,...basically nothing more than obvious fraud!!!It's a real shame...because the old-fashioned ambience is actually awesome.You can go there for a coffee, but you shouldn't do that with the food you let it be...if you don't want to shit yourself.

We received excellent service in this restaurant. It wasn't the first time that we directed our steps towards contemplation. And last but not least because of the regional cuisine. Seasonally there was kale with sausages, smoked pork and fried potatoes. Excellent. Plus one or two draft beers - simply delicious! Thank you - we'll be happy to come back.

We were there with family in January 2024. The restaurant was very busy and we still managed to get seats. The service staff was super nice and attentive. In other restaurants there always comes a moment when you become aware of the "waiting" for something - not here at all. Despite the large number of guests, the food came unexpectedly quickly and despite that it tasted like individual cooking. So we were thrilled and will definitely come back there.

Warum auf den Weihnachtsmarkt Grünkohl mit knacker und Bratkartoffeln wenn wir für wirklich 80 Cent mehr zahlteb und das Doppelte hatten. War sehr lecker 😋, kann ich nur weiterempfehlen. Macht weiter so.

Wir lieben das Ratshaus Café, das Essen ist lecker 😋 Kaffee und Kuchen schmecken auch, immer eine sehr nette Bedienung. Meine Freundin und ich gehen gerne dorthin.

Hallo war ganz schön bei euch gewesen mit sehr Lecker Kuchen und guten Servies .

Wir sind hier für warme Füße und einen doppelten Espresso eingekehrt. Direkt beim Eintreten wird man mit dem Charme eines Wiener Kaffehauses eingenommen. Die klassische Aufteilung mit (Kuchen-) Tresen unmittelbarer nach dem Eingang und Gästeplätzen auf einer etwas erhöhten Stufe sowie sehr freundlichem Personal hat uns hier zum längerfristigen Verweilen eingeladen. Obwohl die eigentliche Kaffezeit vorüber war, konnten uns sowohl der Windbeutel als auch die Marzipan - Torte begeistern. Aufmerksames und freundliches Personal hat den Besuch schön abgerundet. Wenn wir die Gelegenheit haben, kommen wir gerne wieder.

Wir waren schon mehrmals dort. Das Mittagessen ist empfehlenswert, ebenso das Kaffee - und Küchenangebot.

Lækker Hamburg schnitzel med brasekartofler og smørstegte ærter. God lokal øl dertil. Der var dog lidt ventetid på maden men det var det værd at vente på og til fair priser. Betjeningen vi fik kunne godt være lidt bedre. Vi blev placeret i et lokale væk fra alle andre og føltes os gemt væk med vilje. Men vil du have lækker mad så kan jeg anbefale dette sted

Restauranten ligger på Alte Markt, det gamle torget, stille og fredelig. Serverer tradisjonell, lokal husmannskost til grei pris. Rask servering.

Wollte Mal wieder Fisch essen! Seelachs an Senfsauce, der Renner, wie mir die Bedienung mitteilte. Der Fisch schwamm noch, im Fett und die Senfsauce, so kam es mir vor, kam direkt aus der Senftube. Vom Fisch kein Geschmack. Die Küche soll Ihr Lehrgeld wieder zurückgeben. Der schlechteste Fisch der mir je serviert wurde!
