Far too little and cold food for the price. Disgraceful!!

It's been a long time since I've been to ALEX. Phew, the prices are amazing. I haven't seen it this expensive in a long time. I think that's a disgrace, a 0.5l Spezi (half of it ice cubes) for €6.10?! I'm happy to pay for good quality but that's not what you see here. Favorite salad for over €11 - leaf lettuce, a tomato and some cucumber, all on a flat plate. I'm sorry, it's just too expensive for me. The service was good and friendly, but unfortunately when we wanted to pay, no one came and we did it at the counter. Which wasn't so bad now. The latte was super tasty and worth the money ☺️

Very nice atmosphere and great food.

We are no longer happy with the breakfast buffet and have been going somewhere else for years. After 10 years, it has given up. So go wherever there is coffee at the buffet... it's nice but it's nice and there's always something new every day.

On October 4th, 2024 I had an appointment with my companion at Alex. We both ordered a Caprese tarte flambée for €13.30 I would like to mention that I have been a guest at Alex for years and have ordered this tarte flambée several times. Unfortunately, we were both bitterly disappointed that day and had to return half of the tarte flambée because it was literally full of fat and it gave us stomach ache. The waiter was immediately informed about this and wanted to inform the kitchen management. We were most audacious with the bill, even though the tarte flambée was definitely inedible, so we were allowed to pay the full price. No price reduction as a gesture of goodwill or any other concession. Dear Alex, from now on we will part ways here and I will not visit the location again.

Best location in the city center.

Was here for the first time today. Lunch with a dear colleague. I was very excited, I had heard a lot and now I was able to see for myself. Food very tasty 😋Service super nice, the ambience 👍 😄 I will definitely come back soon.

Great location in the city of Magdeburg. Even reservation requests were easily fulfilled for us. Sunday brunch puts you in a good mood. In our opinion, the warm dishes could use a little more spice, but considering the kids, it's all fine. Until next time, please keep it up 👍👍👍

Very tasty and nice ambience in a great location. What should be highlighted is the exceptionally great service across all employees! Together we also developed a delicious gluten-free solution for our son. Many thanks to the entire ALEX team from Magdeburg, it was a very nice evening.

Abysmal bad, you can't be that bad! But here, the wrong coffee was served, ice cream came 30 minutes later, cake wasn't served. The cake was only served when asked. And the point is, the cake was totally cold. The Alex in Magdeburg cannot be recommended.

Waited 1.5 hours for fries!! Then they finally came. And the kicker is, the fries were cold. The waitress wanted to warm them up again. It was crazy. We also had 4 drinks, each of which was 20 minutes long, each one individually. Fries were paid for in full, I left them and left, soooo now I have to vent myself!! Keep it up 👍🙋‍♂️

Very nice place in the city centre, food is good. But new Chicken burger is really bad. It's Donner between bread. Bowels there are perfect.

Too many reserved tables!!! At 1:30 p.m. tables were already reserved for 4 and 5 p.m. Few guests who then felt compelled not to linger as long because they were seated at a table with a 4 p.m. order. During the payment process, the waiter left the money on our table and gave me the receipt that I paid. I waited at least 5 minutes after asking 2 different employees to send the waiter to our table again. I then pointed out to him that he hadn't pocketed my money and that the 42 euros were still there, meaning he was missing this money at the end of his shift. With a short “Sorry” he disappeared again. A thank you from him would have been worth it to me.

Very tasty food. No fireworks but down to earth taste. Service is on point. Prices a little more expensive.

Update 10.2024 We were here again, the food and service are good, but you have to wait a really long time for your ordered food, which isn't that nice! Had dinner here today! Very friendly staff, food & drinks very tasty! The restaurant has two floors and was really busy, but unfortunately you have to wait a bit for the food!

The food at Alex's is always and everywhere (we only experienced one deviation in self-service) of very good quality and freshly prepared. The service here was top and very considerate. Thanks!

Personally, I have been to Alex at least once every year since it opened. Nice location and great ambience, food is OK, not great but not too bad either... prices are quite high (which you can't say about the food 😜). Unfortunately I have to criticize the service, but luckily you can choose the service staff by simply changing the table or asking for a different condition. Overall, it hasn't gotten any worse, but it hasn't improved either 😉 Renovation costs a lot of money, I know, but the ravages of time are eating away at your furniture and walls! With that in mind, see you next year.

Varied, solid cuisine. Established all-you-can-eat breakfast. You can get lucky with a table spontaneously, reservations are recommended. There are 2 children's corners. Service is nice and courteous.

Just in time for the holiday, we moved our “Ape(Aperol)-Radler” regulars’ table to the ALEX in Magdeburg. Although we only had an appointment for brunch, the cozy atmosphere and the very attentive and good service invited us to linger. A big thank you to our waitress Sina. We had a great day here and would love to come back. ☀️

Unfortunately I'm used to something different from Alex, we waited an hour for our food... Then my rump steak was a shoe sole even though I ordered medium and unfortunately the food was cold... And it tasted better... Otherwise the staff is always very nice and the ambience is of course hard to beat

Great ambience! I have been a guest for more than 20 years. Service today was absolutely bad and disgraceful. Friendliness was not an option for the staff. We gave Mom a brunch with the family, but it wasn't nice.

The staff was a disaster! Unfriendly, incompetent and not suitable for the catering job. There should be a complete change in personnel here.

It was great the first few times. Now the orders are taking a little long. Unfortunately my food was lukewarm and my waffle was forgotten. If you, as an allergy sufferer, had or needed an extra request, you would roll your eyes. Too bad.

I have been a guest at Alex Magdeburg for years and already know most of the dishes very well. I've always been satisfied so far. Unfortunately, during my last visit I noticed that the number of portions had decreased significantly. I was shocked by the amount of “Favorite Chicken Breast Salad”. Too bad.

We finally redeemed our voucher and were at Alex on September 8th, 2024. The saying fits: life is beautiful! We are very enthusiastic about the service, which was absolutely courteous, the atmosphere, our table was right between the restaurant and the street, simply well thought out and pleasant in the temperatures. Great class. The food, starting with the starter, was simply delicious. The main course was simply great, the meat was tender. We would give even more stars. However, we found the music to be too loud, but that didn't detract from the overall impression in our star award.

I was with you yesterday with a friend and I really enjoyed it. The food was super delicious, I had the falafel bowl 😋. And a Mai Tai, which is also great. Then we went to the cinema and what can I say? After the film we went back to Alex to drink another Mai Tai 😉 🍹. You are a great team there, very friendly and attentive. A feel-good place 🤩

I think this restaurant is very, very good and I highly recommend it and if you want something delicious to drink (non-alcoholic) then I recommend Ipanema and a big shout out to Josef ✌️

We spontaneously ran to Alex on the last evening! Ordered a bowl and homemade lemonade! It was super tasty! And the service was just very nice! It was a beautiful, mild summer evening!

We went for Sunday brunch today for €20.90 per person, without a reservation the staff made a lot of effort to provide us with a place. The food and price-performance ratio, especially for children, is very fair, under 6 years 0€, over 6-14 6.40€, so the only point of criticism for us is that there are too many children for our taste. For me as a vegetarian, the scrambled eggs unfortunately tasted like bacon, even though it was natural, according to the kitchen, made on separate plates or pans, but in the same chafing, hence the taste. Fruit selection was a bit limited, only watermelon.

I went for breakfast today, it was good. Some of the dishes were later empty and unavailable. The waitresses standing near the drinks were rude and unsympathetic.

The interior of the restaurant is super nice with a great vibe. It’s open until midnight, which is really convenient. We arrived around 11 PM, but the staff were still exceptionally friendly and welcoming. The food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. Overall, a fantastic experience!

My wife and I spontaneously went for a walk along the Elbe yesterday evening and wanted to have some refreshment before driving home. We took a seat outside and looked at the drinks menu and immediately left. They want an incredible 6 euros for a 0.5l cola and over 4 euros for a 0.3l beer. This is usury and has nothing to do with inflation, increased wages or who knows what else. I've always enjoyed going there but at these prices I'd happily drink somewhere else!

Our new favorite nightlife establishment in Magdeburg😍 The waitresses are totally charismatic and courteous. The food was super tasty. I can particularly recommend the Salted Caramel Bowl. You should definitely try them. Always my pleasure :)

We wanted to sit upstairs because it was too stuffy downstairs for us. But when we asked about service, we received a snippy answer that it wasn't possible. By free choice of seats we mean something different. This meant we had forgotten about eating in the restaurant.

08/31/24 2:00 p.m. waiting time for service came to the table 13 minutes The ladies are in sleep mode, drinking, talking on the phone and chatting. The gentleman with his hair pinned up cleaned in front of our eyes with his green rag that he always carried in one hand, attention: tables, and all red L&M ashtrays!! Disgusting. Someone responsible for the shift like on Sunday evening, who had everything under control, FAILURE this afternoon We won't be coming back!

Unfortunately, during the breakfast buffet time, customers were very overwhelmed with the restocking and customers were overwhelmed with the system.

Der Tisch für zwei Personen war ein wenig eng in einer eher dunklen Ecke. Das Essen war aber wirklich lecker, gerade die kleinen Salate und die Pancakes (hier mit Kirschmarmelade statt Sirup und Zucker) waren sehr lecker. Die Bedienung war ziemlich in Hektik und etwas angenervt, wenn man nicht schnell genug antwortet. Es war sehr voll auf diesem Samstag. Daher reservieren und rechtzeitig da sein, damit man genügend Zeit hat, das Buffett abzugrasen.

I can highly recommend the store to everyone. I immediately felt like I was transported back to the turn of the millennium using a time machine. Helps perfectly against any midlife crisis. And when I see their prices, I'm surprised again: they really are very cheap. In Munich, Hamburg and Berlin it hasn't been as cheap as in Magdeburg for a long time.

Very good breakfast. There's a little bit of everything. Hot and cold dishes. It's a shame that on a very windy and very fresh morning you had to sit outside even though the upper floor wasn't reserved and was free. There was also enough service. Unfortunately, you also have to watch your food outside because the birds ate your sandwich quicker before you got back with everything else...very poorly solved. At least if you asked, you were allowed to sit in because a seat had become available. This can be better 😉

Unfriendly staff. In the morning at 9 a.m.... brunch was great Update 7/22/24 went for lunch today because my wife ate chicken teriyaki for the first time and it was great. I had the currywurst with braised onions that was awesome. Therefore one more star. Which was a shame again, after 20 minutes we politely said we would like to order and they were offended because we contacted them and they hadn't had time yet... OK, but otherwise today was great.

Eine gute Auswahl an Cocktails und Speisen. Die Preise sind ok. Geschmacklich darf man keine Wunder erwarten, aber trotzdem empfehlenswert!

On the plus side, the location, size and quite nice decor, although a bit wedding-like, a big plus, very nice, the staff all spoke English well, the food, unfortunately very poor, even weak, we ordered pasta and something grilled came after five or six minutes, impossible. So we heat it up 100% and the pasta felt extremely overcooked and tasteless, and maybe it was grilled once, but once it was heated in a pan or in a microwave. Well, not really. Prices are not high for the area

Very unfriendly employees (certainly 6 different ones at our table), despite the obvious birthday group, no comment was made about it (not even after the "birthday GinTonic" we ordered), a variety of dishes with something for everyone, but not of very high quality.

Today on Sunday we had breakfast with 10 people, it was OK, the service was only rudimentary, we would have liked to have ordered a little more, unfortunately it didn't work, the gentleman didn't show up, but said when we paid that it wasn't like that a lot, and the dishes, goulash, solyanka, were not enjoyable, they were simply too salty. However, no one is interested in that, very annoying, the toilets are on the upper floor, a torture for the older ones, therefore not recommended for this price and far too expensive.

My friend and I went to the breakfast buffet again today. As usual, it was extremely tasty, with a great selection. My highlight today was the watermelon 🍉, because I really like eating it and it's also good when you're already full. Unfortunately we were 10 minutes late but still got our table. Of course, a little tip from the waiter couldn't be missing 😅. I'm looking forward to the next time and thank you for the good start to the day.

If you are not able to make a simple cocktail such as a Caipirinha with vodka instead of Pitu, the shift management rejected it. It was possible for double the price of the ALEX 35 in Kassel.

My favorite restaurant is ALEX, among others, but the one time (June 30, 2024) I was very disappointed. I got an almost raw steak. Hoping that it wasn't the case and that I was imagining it, I took two bites anyway. My family members who were there also found this steak inedible. I no longer had the appetite to eat, but I didn't want any conflict either. When I asked the usual question whether everything was okay, I expressed my displeasure. No one apologized to me and I was still charged for the inedible steak. When I asked why I had to pay for it, the answer was: 'You ate some of it.
