Pretty restaurant with great decor - good food and mediocre staff, which doesn't do justice to the prices.

There is excellent food and very good service here.

Today's 3-course menu was super delicious. The ambience in the restaurant is excellent - including a great view of the Elbe. The table service was very good. 5 stars all round - keep it up.

Celebrated a little birthday there at the end of December. The food was very nicely prepared, but the taste was not a highlight. Unfortunately, we initially had a very complicated and unwilling service employee that evening. At first he was unable to properly accept drink requests. We initially ordered an aperitif and wanted to take a few minutes to study the food and drink menu. We weren't even brought a wine list. After a while he wanted to take the food order, so we had to point out to him that we hadn't even gotten drinks yet. After 15 minutes of ordering the food, it turned out that at 6:30 p.m. the side dish listed on the menu was no longer available for one of the dishes. No alternatives were offered or any attempt was made to solve the existing problem by the employee. He was unable to organize another supplement. This was only possible after contacting another service employee. Thank God she took over our table and saved the evening.

Das Menü konnte zusammengestellt werden. Wir hatten sechs verschiedene Gericht, die alle sehr gut angerichtet und frisch waren. Ein rundum gelungener Restaurantbesuch. Vielen Dank!

There is nothing to complain about. We had an overall lovely evening. I have to highlight the beef fillet - a dream. Great creations, the tiramisu was also great.

Unfortunately I can't say anything about it. I tried to reserve online. Only possible with credit card. Unfortunately I don't have any. Tried to call several times (both during and outside opening hours) and couldn't reach anyone. The location in the pictures looks great...would have liked to come by. I was only in town for two days. Addition after reaction from the owner: Thank you for the quick response. The fields were shown to me as mandatory and I couldn't make a reservation, even when I tried to send the request without credit card information. I consider the response to this review as good service. Even if the manner suggests a bit of arrogance (at least that's how it felt to me). At the age of 83, I may no longer be technically fit and I ask for your indulgence here. Of course I can't say anything about the food. Another addition: The owner deleted his answer after improving the rating.

We came here for our anniversary and in the end we were happy to have made this decision, The food was very tasty and the service was very appealing. There is also a great wine list.

A culinary highlight in Magdeburg. It's really worth it...even if it's more expensive. But the prices are reasonable.

Such attentive, friendly service! Such fabulous food! Such a summery flair with a view of the Elbe! Unfortunately we rarely spend time in the corner... It's definitely a nice memory of a wonderful evening.

Undoubtedly an excellent location: whether on the terrace directly by the water or on the roof with a picturesque view when the weather is nice, or in the stylish, modern interior on colder days - you can enjoy a pleasant, inviting atmosphere in comfortable seating. The courteous and friendly service contributes to your feeling of well-being. Unfortunately, Culinara's menu is hardly (or not) aimed at vegetarian and vegan guests. Of course, requests for adjustments are accepted with a friendly smile, but the constant running back and forth of the service staff to discuss every small change with the kitchen quickly becomes tiring and clouds the ordering process. Culinara has so many appealing side dishes that could be offered as stand-alone vegetarian or vegan dishes with minimal effort. For example, the wild mushroom salad with Roquefort cream and wild berries, which is usually served as a side dish with roast beef, or the porcini mushroom brioche with turnip, almond-mint pesto and blueberries, which is served with beef fillet. Even the pasta could be a tasty vegetarian main dish without the secreto, but only with gorgonzola, porcini mushrooms and beech mushrooms. The ingredients are already there - no major changes are needed to create a separate, attractive offering for vegetarians and vegans to accomplish. It's not about following a trend, but rather about making an economically sensible decision. In larger groups these days there is almost always someone who follows a vegetarian or vegan diet. If one of the group is not satisfied, they will choose a different restaurant next time. Potential sales growth remains unused. My wishes were accommodated and I was satisfied with the quality of the food, but the ordering process was too strenuous and sometimes unpleasant. It was also inappropriate that the vegetarian version was priced identically to the meat version, even though the ingredients and portion sizes should have been clearly differentiated. The range of drinks on offer is mainly geared towards alcoholic drinks, although mocktails are also offered - adjustments are also possible here. All in all, it was a pleasant evening with good food in an atmospheric ambience, but the ordering process could have been much more relaxed.

The game ragou was an overcooked meat pulp of indefinable origin. The specified cranberries had to be requested first. The service was more trying than talented. The location is very nice. All in all, far too expensive. The fruit tea was excellent.

I've never been to Culinaris before. Why? As soon as you get to the state chancellery, every walker is greeted by the pungent stench of used old frying fat/oil. Ugh, that's why it disgusts me to go past there. The kitchen might be good? But the smell of exhaust air is corrosive.

As always, culinary delights of a very high standard, nice attentive service, especially from the experienced restaurant manager. Fine menu, successful range of drinks. A place to feel good and enjoy. The younger service staff should adapt a little to the good level if necessary. However, it could have been a snapshot. I don't want to overestimate it. Thank you very much, the journey is always worth it!

We had made reservations for a wedding dinner at 12 p.m. We stood at the door with the bride at 11:55 a.m. in the pouring rain, knocked and after a minute a waiter came to the door and told us the opening time was 12 p.m. When a friend pointed out that the bride was getting wet, we said we had to put the flowers in front of the door first. We weren't actually allowed into the restaurant until 12 p.m. The table was neither beautifully set nor otherwise prepared. The service was boring. The food, nothing special and the tuna was more sushi than fried. The potatoes for the schnitzel were too firm/raw. The cappucino cup was spilled. Something like that just doesn't work. We won't eat there again. I'm happy to be back in Munich, where warmth is standard.

Wir hatten zum 12 Uhr für ein Hochzeits-Essen reserviert. Wir standen mit der Braut um 11:55 Uhr im strömenden Regen vor der Tür, klopften an die Tür, nach einer Minute kam ein Kellner an die Tür und verwies uns auf die Öffnungszeit um 12 Uhr. Auf Hinweis einer Freundin, das die Braut nass wird, hieß es, wir müssen erstmal die Blumen vor die Tür stellen. Wir wurden wirklich erst um 12 Uhr in das Lokal gelassen. Der Tisch war weder schön gedeckt noch sonstig vorbereitet. Der Service kam gelangweilt in die Gänge. Das Essen, nichts bewegendes und der Thunfisch war eher Sushi als gebraten. Die Tasse vom Cappucino war bekleckert. Sowas geht einfach nicht. Wir werden dort nicht wieder Essen gehen. Bin froh wiedet in München zu sein, wo Herzlichkeit Standard ist. Yen Hyöe um das Lokal können wir nicht nachvollziehen.

I ordered fillet of beef but then I got another piece with a lot of fat and low level, the waitress still said it was fillet. And finally they said they were making something new for me but then there was no fillet and I had to choose another dish and I was there as the first round customer. I then chose others and the food was ok. I find it unpleasant.

Very nice service. The dishes are a real taste explosion. The arrangement on the plates is a real feast for the eyes.

I was traveling alone for work and wanted to eat here. I was greeted by a very unfriendly lady who didn't think much of me wanting to eat alone. I would have been placed in the last corner, despite the almost empty restaurant. After some back and forth, I decided to just have a drink here. I can only report absolutely positive things here. Great drinks, nice and courteous waiters/bartenders, good vibes, nice view. I then went to the “Hoflieferant” for dinner. Here I was greeted very friendly, got a great seat (despite one person), the food was great and the prices were more reasonable than at Culinaria. I can highly recommend the combination of splitting drinks and food like this.

Very friendly service, great location right on the Elbe. The food was fantastic. As a starter there was a bruscetta with pulled pork, which was extremely tasty. The main course was a perfectly cooked steak. Absolutely recommended.

Update from August 2024: After many more visits, we went to the Culinaria for "fine dining" in August 2024 and enjoyed the three-course menu on the balcony for a special occasion. Before that there was an aperitif in the “rooftop bar”. It was an absolutely successful evening. The location and the entire ambience make the Culinaria the top address in Magdeburg and the surrounding area. In my opinion, there is nothing better in the city when it comes to the combination of everything, i.e. location, ambience, service, offerings, atmosphere and finally the food. No wonder that almost every time you visit here you meet local greats, mostly from the sports sector. The advice was provided by lovely service staff and the boss himself, who also helped us choose the wine. Starters and main courses were excellent. Here, Culinaria, which cannot be assigned to a particular direction, has constantly developed over the years and has finally found its own style, for which the term fusion would be too short-sighted. There is only a slight point deduction for the desserts because there was no clear line and there were too many flavors competing with each other. It still tasted good. I left the older review in for comparison: Enjoyed gourmet menu with wine tasting. The Culinaria is getting better and better. Plus the location! A real recommendation.

Very nicely located restaurant in Magdeburg directly on the Elbe with a roof terrace and very stylishly furnished. Not far from the cathedral and the old town. Service was very friendly and attentive. Food in the upper price segment for Magdeburg. My chop was rather greasy and could have spent some more time in the kitchen.

You can sit really well on the roof terrace. It's really great! But the prices are sporty. The cheese board was disappointing. 16.50 euros with a crumb of bread. So we don't have to eat there again. Foreign language in the service, not optimal communication.

Food is okay. Cleanliness on the terrace leaves a lot to be desired.

The Culinaria and the associated Culibaria on the roof terrace are among the most beautiful dining establishments in Magdeburg. Paolo rounded off our visit to Culibaria with delicious cocktails 🍹 and a cold beer 🍺. Thank you very much for that

We had the menu and were quite disappointed. Unfortunately, the taste was nothing special. For the price you can get much better food. Of course the location is nice and it's nice to sit there. The pulpo was delicious. The fillet was good, but that certain something was missing. The dessert was disappointing. It was wildly combined and without being taste-matched. I missed the concept. Only the optics were good. The cheese wasn't well chosen either. The service was a bit intrusive, but otherwise friendly and helpful. Almost cheeky for the price. There is much better cuisine in Magdeburg too. Certainly very suitable for drinks on the Elbe. I wouldn't come back for the food.

For me personally, an incredibly delicious meal.

My granddaughter's birthday present was a girls' trip to Magdeburg to the green citadel. We wanted to have a nice meal on the Elbe and found this restaurant. The menu was great, but not that tempting for the 10 year old. The waitress noticed this and asked what she liked and so there was a special dish. Pasta with basil sauce. It's just very nice there and the service is excellent. We'd be happy to come back next time we visit Magdeburg.

Update 2024: Been here countless times now. It was always great. The food is always very good and often stunning. The service was friendly and professional and the atmosphere was simply lovely. Reservations recommended. A great location. The two of us came here for dinner on a Friday evening and sat outside with a view of the Elbe in the mild weather. You were right in the middle and yet quiet and shielded. The location is an absolute plus. The service was very friendly, clearly above the Magdeburg average. The evening menu is small but fine and priced at the upper end. There were also 4 daily specials and, depending on the weather, a summery punch as an aperitif. Everything tasted great to me, only the ox cheeks (large portion!) were a bit too dry. If you want to sit outside when the weather is nice, you should definitely make a reservation in advance.

The ambience is stylish yet cozy. Beforehand there was simply very good bread with olive oil and very aromatic olives. The Duroc cutlet in combination with lukewarm potato salad, some mild burrata and aromatic tomato and pepper vegetables with balsamic vinegar was a perfect combination of complementary and balancing flavors. This restaurant is fully recommended. And to everyone who eats steak or veal schnitzel with asparagus there (too many): try something where the chef can really demonstrate his skills.

Ganz klar, die Lage am Fluss ist genial. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam, flink und sympathisch. Das gesamte Restaurant erscheint sehr ordentlich geführt. Die Küche hat im Vergleich zu den aufgerufenen Preisen noch aufzuholen. Mein Spargel-Sahnesüppchen vorab bestand fast nur aus Sahne und kaum Spargel. Beim Hauptgericht kam dann der Spargel lecker aldente auf den Tisch und das Wiener Schnitzel aus der Truhe. Ein Fertigschnitzel, das geht bei einem Haus wie diesem überhaupt nicht, hier erwarte ich mehr.

Unfortunately, the Culinaria has declined significantly. The food is still delicious and there are also unusual and special combinations. The portions are sufficient and the offerings also change. The lunch specials in particular are also reasonably priced. Unfortunately, the staff often lacks friendliness. If you can sit outside the view over the Elbe is very nice.

Super delicious food. All courses themselves were perfect. The meat was cooked extremely tender. All-in-all definitely a heartfelt recommendation. We came from Berlin and it was really worth it :)

We had liver and salmon here. Both dishes tasted great. We sat on the non-smoking terrace and enjoyed the weather. The service was very friendly. Today (May 1st, 2024) we were here again. We had reserved a table on the terrace. We ordered beef fillet. T. with beans instead of asparagus. There was bread with oil and a cream cheese cream beforehand and then a greeting from the kitchen. It consisted of a cold piece of roast pork and half an egg with caviar. Unfortunately, the beans for the main course were only lukewarm. The hollandaise was a bit tasteless. With drinks (beer, spritzer) we paid a little over €80. To make up for the cold beans, we had an espresso.

Was just drinking coffee... But I was able to admire the food of the people sitting next to me... Very tasty 😋 and at the next opportunity I will also eat asparagus 😍

The Culinaria in Magdeburg has a great location right on the Elbe, and I was impressed by the stylish interior. The waiter was extremely friendly and accommodating. The menu is appealing, the quality and taste of the food is okay, but doesn't really match the high prices. My beetroot risotto was particularly disappointing. Usually it's served with strips of beef, but I wanted the vegetarian version - exactly the same, just without the meat. Unfortunately, neither more goat cheese nor asparagus was put on it, and the price of €32.50 doesn't seem justified to me.

The restaurant pretends to be more than it actually is. Considering the price, the food and service are only mediocre. A pity.

Gemütliches, ruhiges Mittagessen im Culinaria? Am Nachbartisch eine Gesellschaft, die sich sehr laut unterhielt. Eine gepflegte ruhige Unterhaltung war fuer uns mit zwei Personen nicht gegeben. Beim servierten Schnitzel Wiener Art musste das großflächige Ablösen der Panade hingenommen werden. Das wäre aber kuechentechnisch zu verhindern gewesen. Wir kamen wohl mit anderen Vorstellungen in das Culinaria. Der Service war sonst aufmerksam und gut.

We actually only had a cup of coffee or latte, so I can't rate the food. But what was served at the neighboring tables looked really good. It's definitely full here in summer, but you can book a table. The restaurant is located directly on the Elbe with a small outdoor terrace. According to the notices, top chefs are guests from time to time and if you book a ticket you can also take part and enjoy top cuisine. But even so, it looked like top-notch cuisine. The staff is extremely friendly and quick. The prices are reasonable, it's just fine dining. And good staff and good chefs must also be well paid. I can only recommend the Culinaria restaurant and will definitely come back again to try out the kitchen and see the roof terrace, which I must have missed today.

I have now had the pleasure of visiting the Culinaria restaurant in Magdeburg several times and can only report positive things. The restaurant offers excellent cuisine, a beautiful ambience and a great view of the Elbe. The highlight of my visit was the beef tenderloin that I ordered. It was cooked to perfection - juicy, tender and full of flavor. The quality of the meat was excellent and the side dish harmonized perfectly with the main course. It was a real treat and exceeded my expectations. The ambience on the outdoor terrace is simply fantastic. With a view of the Elbe, I was able to enjoy the meal to the fullest and let myself be enchanted by the relaxed atmosphere. The service in the Culinaria restaurant was also excellent. The staff was friendly, attentive and very professional. They took care of all my concerns and made sure I felt completely comfortable. The service was quick and efficient without being intrusive. All in all, I can fully recommend the Culinaria restaurant. The beef fillet was delicious and the ambience on the outdoor terrace by the Elbe was simply fantastic. If you are looking for a first-class restaurant with excellent cuisine and a great ambience, you should definitely visit Culinaria in Magdeburg. You will not be disappointed!

Nice restaurant with nice food, near to river!

Incredibly attentive service!!! The roof terrace is so beautiful, the drinks are innovative and delicious and there is always something to nibble on. When we are there, we always spend a few hours there because it is so beautiful. We are happy to pay the higher prices for it. The food will also be tested soon; it always looks extremely appealing.

We have been here several times and have always been very satisfied. Today unfortunately really disappointed with the service and much more the food quality. The entrecout was not seasoned and the quality and preparation of the meat was not good. That for around 40 euros does not correspond to any price/performance ratio. The deer dish was okay, the Brussels sprouts were not fully cooked and partly raw. The staff did one unmotivated impression The ambience is and remains unique!

Great, professional, demanding. We only stopped by for a quick lunch, but the atmosphere set the stage for the rest of the day. Friendly, attentive service and delicious food. The portions were absolutely fine, as were the prices.

In our opinion, price/performance is not justified. Had the tuna steaks, which were good, and the entrecôte, which is in the higher price segment compared to other places. The meat was not medium as ordered but medium rare. Also, the quality of the meat wasn't that great, i.e. it was very stringy/cartilaginous, just like my sister, who ordered the same thing... Maybe we were just unlucky. Many reviews rate the service as above average, which I cannot confirm. If there is already starter cutlery (which I find superfluous and chicki micki), it should also be put away with the main course. Service was otherwise ok👍🏻 After paying we weren't even said goodbye... Maybe we weren't part of the desired clientele, without a shirt or dress... The ambience is very nice and cozy, but at our table it was a little too dark to eat.

Super Service, super essen super Ambiente. Wir hatten uns jeweils für das 3-Gänge-Menü entschieden, und das war eine gute Entscheidung. Die Portionen waren mehr als ausreichend und alles war toll angerichtet. Wir hatten einen richtig schönen Abend zu zweit gehabt. Sehr zu empfehlen dieses Restaurant.

Top Italiener. Die Lage direkt an der Elbe sucht ihres Gleichen. Ich hatte das Risotto und war sehr zufrieden. Ich koche selber gerne Risotto und probiere es auch gerne mal in einem italienischen Restaurant. Dabei wurde ich auch schon enttäuscht. Hier war es allerdings perfekt. Sehr schön schlonzig und ich hätte es auch nicht besser hinbekommen;-)). Auch der Service war 1A. Aufmerksam aber nicht aufdringlich, einfach professionell.

Waren zum Martinstag dort. Sehr nettes freundliches Team kommen gerne wieder.

Wir haben hier während eines Workshops mit der kompletten Abteilung gegessen. Das Buffet war reichhaltig und wirklich lecker, das Personal überaus freundlich und schnell. Die verschiedenen Speisen wurden sehr schnell nachgefüllt. Wirklich empfehlenswert.

Ich schreibe wirklich selten Bewertungen, aber nach diesem tollen Abend heute, muss ich es einfach tun. Wir hatten ein wirklich rundum gelungenes 3-Gänge-Menü. Die Speisekarte ist übersichtlich, dafür hat jedes Gericht etwas ganz besonderes. Jeder Gang war liebevoll angerichtet und wahnsinnig lecker. Ich habe lange nicht mehr ein so gutes Rinderfilet gegessen. Mein Highlight war allerdings der saisonale Nachtisch (Mohn-Quark-Knödel mit Lebkucheneis). Zum leckeren Essen und dem passenden Wein, möchte ich auch den Service loben: immer höflich, umsichtig, dabei aber nie aufdringlich oder störend. Wir kommen jederzeit gerne wieder.

Ein echt gutes Restaurant, direkt an der Elbe. Die Karte ist jetzt nicht riesig umfangreich, aber das Konzept der wechselnden Menüs passt gut. Die Lage und der Blick ist natürlich sensationell.

Wir sind nur vorbeigelaufen aber durch die to go idee ist es mega, sehr gute preise und coole getränke

War wieder sehr schön. Hundefreundlich sind sie auch. Speisekarte gut überschaubar. Die Speisen sind mit viel Liebe zubereitet und sehr lecker. Reservierung online möglich.

Zum Jubiläum unserer Exmatrikulation 1983 traf sich der harte Kern der SG DR 2/79 in MD. Wir hatten ein super tolles Wochenende mit phantastischem Abend- essen im Culinaria. Essen, Service und Ambiente sind nur zu empfehlen. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

Das Essen war leider gar nicht gewürzt, aber das ist nicht das schlimmste! Danach hatte ich Lebensmittelvergiftung. Bitte kein Pulpo dort essen! Ich habe mich im Restaurant gemeldet… sie wollten mich zurückrufen, leider nichts passiert! Empfehle ich nicht weiter…..

Vorab zum Essen kann ich leider nichts sagen da wir nur die Bar auf der Dachterrasse besucht haben. Die Cocktails sind phänomenal gut und der Service ausgezeichnet. Die Aussicht war grandios und wir verbrachten eine schöne, angenehme und entspannte Zeit dort. Die sanitären Anlagen sind ausgezeichnet und auf dem Damen WC findet man kostenlose Hygiene Produkte und dazu noch Deo und Handcreme. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Bruschetta als Vorspeise auf einzigartig perfekte Art: Diese Kombination der Dressings am Salat zum niederknien köstlich. Sagenhaft. Hauptspeisen: Saltimbocca exzellent. Gute Lage, freundliche und aufmerksame Mitarbeiter. Da das Gemüse beim SALTIMBOCCO ALLA ROMANA sehr salzlastig war, gibt es leider einen Stern Abzug. Burger und Schweinefilet waren Spitze. Nachtrag; gebe doch alle Sterne, mit dem Salz kann mal passieren, wenn man frisch kocht und keine Fertigware nimmt. Entschuldigt wurde sich auch, also alles gut für mich.

Wiederholt hat uns der Besuch im Culinaria einen wunderschönen und fröhlichen Abend beschert. Das Essen war großartig, das Service-Team ganz wunderbar, aufmerksam und absolut freundlich. Die Gastfreundschaft ist einzigartig. Ein Besuch lohnt sich immer, man fühlt sich willkommen und kulinarisch ist es einfach perfekt. Ein großes Lob in die Küche! Bis zum nächsten Mal!

Definitely it has a distinctive atmosphere

Wir haben dieses tolle Restaurant direkt an der Elbe für einen kurzen Zwischenstopp auf einen Kaffee besucht. Der Service war sehr nett und schnell. Gefallen hat uns auch das kleine Gebäck zum Kaffee. Die Errichtung, sowie der Ausblick auf's Wasser hat und sehr gut gefallen.

Wunderschönes Restaurant, welches über die Elbe ragt, mit besonderen Speisen, mega lecker Der Service ist, wie man es sich wünscht, nett, zuvorkommend, sehr freundlich...hier passt einfach alles. Vielen Dank, wir kommen immer wieder gern. (Leider fehlt bei den Bildern der Hauptgang...der sah so lecker aus, dass wir ihn einfach direkt gegessen haben)

Ein wirklich tolles Restaurant und nur zu empfehlen..... TOP Angefangen bei der Lage direkt an der Elbe über das Personal sowohl im Service als auch in der Küche und hauptsächlich natürlich das wunderbare Essen ..... ein leckerer Traum. Meine Gäste und ich waren begeistert. DANKE
