Ich hatte ein wunderbares Erlebnis in diesem indischen Restaurant! Das Essen war absolut köstlich, und ein großes Lob an Chefkoch Rizwan für die Zubereitung so geschmackvoller und authentischer Gerichte. Shivani hat uns hervorragend bedient – ​​sie war freundlich, aufmerksam und sorgte dafür, dass wir uns während unseres gesamten Besuchs sehr wohl fühlten. Der Inhaber hat eine warme, saubere und einladende Atmosphäre geschaffen, die das Essen hier noch angenehmer macht. Großartiges Essen, hervorragender Service und ein fantastisches Ambiente. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen und werde ganz sicher wiederkommen!

Das butter chicken ist zwar preiswert, aber das Hähnchen war schlecht. Es war trocken, hart und bei mir waren mehrere kleine Knochenstücke drin. Niemand von uns hat das Hähnchen bekommen, Reis und Soße waren immerhin lecker. Service ist nicht unfreundlich aber auch nicht gut.

Ich bekam einen furchtbaren Cocktail – er schmeckte so, als würde mir am nächsten Tag schlecht werden… eine Rückerstattung war ihnen nicht möglich.

Ich hatte eine sehr schöne Zeit mit meinen Freunden dort, und der Service war wirklich gut :)

Ich hatte ein absolut fantastisches Erlebnis in diesem indischen Restaurant. Das Essen war einfach unglaublich, voller Geschmack und perfekt zubereitet. Alles, was wir probiert haben, war köstlich. Besonders empfehlenswert sind das Butter Chicken, das Chicken Tikka und das Knoblauch-Naan – sie waren alle hervorragend und gehören zu den besten, die ich je gegessen habe. Ein ganz besonderer Dank geht an unsere Kellnerin Shivani für den unglaublichen Service. Sie war überaus freundlich, aufmerksam und hat das ganze Erlebnis noch schöner gemacht. Ich kann dieses Restaurant wärmstens empfehlen, wenn Sie fantastisches indisches Essen und einen wunderbaren Service genießen möchten!

Ich war in diesem Restaurant und habe Matar Paneer und Palak Paneer probiert. Es hat mir sehr gut geschmeckt, und auch das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Sie haben mir alles geboten, was ich brauchte, und waren sehr hilfsbereit.

Ich schreibe Ihnen, um meine tiefe Unzufriedenheit mit dem Verhalten des neuen Personals während meines letzten Besuchs zum Ausdruck zu bringen. Der Service schien selektiv und abhängig vom Aussehen der Gäste zu sein, was sowohl auffällig als auch unangenehm war. Zwei weibliche Gäste saßen an dem Tisch gegenüber von uns. Die Kellnerin brachte uns Speisekarten, ignorierte ihren Tisch jedoch völlig. Schließlich musste eine der beiden Damen selbst aufstehen und sich eine Speisekarte holen. Kurz darauf kam die Kellnerin an unseren Tisch, um unsere Bestellung aufzunehmen, und ignorierte den anderen Tisch erneut, bis eine der Damen sie herbeirufen musste. Wenig später betraten zwei weitere Gäste das Restaurant. Ihnen wurden sofort Speisekarten gereicht und ihre Bestellung umgehend aufgenommen. Als das Essen serviert wurde, erhielten die beiden Damen ihre Bestellung erst, nachdem alle anderen Tische bedient worden waren, obwohl sie zuvor bestellt hatten. Die Reihenfolge der Bestellungen entsprach eindeutig nicht der Reihenfolge der Essensbestellungen. Ein solches Verhalten wirft ein schlechtes Licht auf den Ruf des Restaurants. Ich bin Stammgast und muss erwähnen, dass sich die Qualität des Essens in letzter Zeit verbessert hat, insbesondere seit der vorherige Küchenchef zurückgekehrt ist. Allerdings sind die Einstellung und das Verhalten der neuen Angestellten enttäuschend und inakzeptabel.

By far the worst “indian” food i ever had. The butter chicken just tasted like chicken in milk, there were no spices not even salt. Such a shame because the place was busy and looked really good. I couldn’t eat more than two bites and the rice was also dry.

I've known the shop for over 25 years and went there today with my whole family. Everyone was disappointed and surprised by the taste and quality. Unfortunately, the food was simply not good at all. Unfortunately, this was my last visit to Rani's. What a shame!!!

I've been eating there since the 1980s whenever I'm in Schöneberg. The food is delicious and affordable.

Delicious food, especially the vegetarian biryani and bathura bread, super affordable, and all the staff are very friendly. We've been coming here for ages and love it. In the summer, you can sit outside and it's great.

Our go-to Indian restaurant when we need a quick bite during the week. They serve the usual dishes, meaning there's a wide selection. Prices are reasonable. The owners are friendly, and if you forget money, you can pay the next day. The ambiance could be improved. Everything seems a bit dated.

⭐️⭐️ Disappointing experience – cold, unkempt, and tasteless I had hoped for more from my visit to Rani, but was unfortunately disappointed and won't be returning. ❄ Ambience & Cleanliness: Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately noticed the open kitchen, which initially gave me some confidence that the preparation was transparent. However, the first impression of the dining room was sobering: It was unpleasantly cold, and the entire environment seemed unkempt. The tables and tablecloths were dirty and hadn't been changed during my visit – only shortly before I left did an employee briefly wipe the table, but without replacing the tablecloth. The entire decor is clearly showing its age. If I hadn't already placed my order, I probably would have left immediately. 🍛 Food: I ordered Paneer Korma (€9). The rice was well cooked, but the dish itself disappointed me – the sauce was far too runny, barely creamy, and bland. It tasted more like water than spices, and the paneer had little flavor of its own. The side dish of green leaves was extremely vinegary and not pleasant to eat. ☕ Masala Chai (€2): I left it after two sips – the taste was unpleasant and made me nauseous. 🔊 Open kitchen – loud and odorous: The open kitchen could be an advantage, but since it's located directly in the room and there's no separation by doors, it quickly becomes very loud as soon as fat is used for frying. Furthermore, there are no windows in two of the openings, which means that kitchen smells permeate the entire dining area. I can well imagine that it's almost impossible to have a conversation during peak times, and that you yourself will smell of the kitchen after eating. 📉 Conclusion: The restaurant seems unkempt, the food is unimpressive, and the atmosphere is unpleasant. For me, it was the first and last time. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend it.

Rani used to be a really nice little restaurant. Unfortunately, I can't say that anymore. The bathura was half the size of the usual, the sauces came when requested and tasted of nothing. They didn't even come with a plate. The main courses were bland, the chicken had a strange consistency, and the few vegetables were from the freezer. The bland sauce from the bathura was found on the small salad. I wouldn't recommend it anymore.

We stumbled upon the restaurant coincidentally and the food was so good! The interior of the restaurant is also really cute. It is rather plain but feels really authentic and the candles on the tables create a warm and cozy atmosphere for dinner time. The restaurant feels less touristy and more real and I would definitely come here again! (Fyi: I paid around 18€ for a main dish, a shared starter and a big shared water)

Since my beginnings in Berlin, I have been coming back here again and again for many years. Good food, friendly service, extremely simple atmosphere and - on top of it - still absolutely hipster-free after all these years! – The previous one was written eight years ago. At the moment (summer 2024) I only come here for the atmosphere. Especially when the heat is steaming or a tropical rain is falling in front of the small restaurant. The family also remains very friendly. But whoever is cooking there now: This Indian cuisine urgently needs an update...

Small restaurant, with the possibility of sitting outside. Intrigued by their pakoras and samosas at the counter, we sat down at the table. Tasted both, good and also fried well. Also ate something else, very good and generous portions. The girl is very kind. Fair price, considering that it is in a fairly central street, I recommend it!

Starter Chole Bhatura...wow. Main course Mutton Tikka... juicy, tender grilled lamb, deliciously seasoned. Very satisfied! Location not that fancy, but the food is great at a good price.

Tasty affordable indian food. Friendly staff. Two of us went here for dinner and had garlic naan and mutter paneer. The naan is thin and delicious and not heavy which is perfect! Loved it.

Have it delivered, VERY small portion. We filled 1/4 of the meal with salad (eaten in 2 bites). There is no salad mentioned in the meal description. This is how you turn two normal portions into three portions. Cheeky, rip off and still hungry.

Ikke så verst indisk fortausrestaurant. Deilig vegansk hovedrett med potet- og blomkålbiter i saus og med ris, kunne vært mer oppdatert på god merking av rettene. Partner hadde aubergine med tofu og ris. Litt slapp tofu ellers godt. Prøv chapatti i stedet for nan, grovere litt mindre fettete og vegansk variant. God mat absolutt!

Das Rani Indische Restaurant in Berlin hat mich mit seiner indischen Küche begeistert. Das Chicken Tikka Masala war perfekt gewürzt und das Naan-Brot frisch und lecker. Das beste Indische Restaurant für uns. Nicht gestreckt mit viel Sahne. Frisch zubereitet. Sehr freundliches Personal. Preis Leistung wirklich top. Wir kommen schon seit mindestens 15 Jahren. Der Koch ist 18 Jahre da also immer gut. Einfach gestaltet aber trotzdem tolles echtes Indisches Essen. Sehr zu empfehlen das aufgeblasene Brot

Rani's is the best! Ich genieße die Atmosphäre hier schon seit vielen Jahren alleine und immer wieder mit Freunden. Die Gäste sind eine schöne Mischung aus Kiezbewohnern und neuen Besuchern. Man kann hier lange gemütlich mit Buch und Tee sitzen und sich langsam durch die Speisekarte arbeiten, oder als Gruppe fröhlich verschiedenste Gerichte teilen. Vegetarier kommen hier auf ihre Kosten. Die authentische Hausmannskost wird liebevoll zubereitet und serviert. Auch Extrawünsche wie "bitte verstecke das Geschenk vor dem Geburtstagskind" werden mit viel Augenzwinkern und Herzlichkeit umgesetzt.

Sehr schönes Essen. Die Lammsuppe ist köstlich, starkes Geschmack von Curry und der Fleisch ist auch frisch. Mit meinem Lieblingsbhatura schmeckt der Suppe sogar besser. Sehr empfehle!!!!!

Leider haben wir uns dort nicht so gut aufgehoben gefühlt, die Dame in der Bedienung war etwas abseits von freundlich. "Rani hat auch schon mal bessere Zeiten gesehen". Zum Essen: Preis/Leistung: überteuert, Geschmack: Der typisch indische Geschmack hat gefehlt. Zu aller letzt: Der Herr hinterm Tresen, hat versucht das Ruder rumzureißen! Nicht empfehlenswert! Auf die nächste tolle indische Mahlzeit!

Leckeres indisches Essen. Das Butterhühnchen war super zart und saftig. Einige Gerichte werden aber auf weniger schönen silbernen Tabletts serviert, die ein bisschen an die Bundeswehr erinnern. Personal ist freundlich, allerdings sollte man Geduld mitbringen aufgrund Wartezeit.

Ok curry, Service was really bad an Unfriendly…never again

Von mir gibt es hier 5 Punkte für diese hübsche, kleine Restaurant! Wer in Town einfach, aber lecker indisch essen gehen möchte, ist hier genau richtig. :) Ich bzw. wir kommen über die Jahre in Regelmäßigkeit immer wieder hier vorbei und lieben es! Direkt an der bunten Goltzstrasse gelegen, sitzt man wunderbar an der Strasse, um die Spaziergänger, das Leben im Kiez zu beobachten. Das ist besser als Fernsehen!!! ;) Die nette Bedienung ist immer freundlich, auf das Essen muß man nicht lange warten und wer möchte kann dem Koch über die Schulter schauen. Wer einen Vergleich sucht, findet diesen im Pariser Stadtleben. :) Letzter sehr großer Pluspunkt.....: die Preise sind unschlagbar!!! Also, wer Bock hat auf indisches Essen... auf zu Rani!!! :)

Einfach, Essen gut! Große Portionen! Guter Service ! Ein Klassiker im Kiez seit 1987

Meiner Meinung nach ist Rani der Beste Inder Berlins. Jedoch sollte man vorzugsweise vor Ort essen und im optimalfall nach 15/16 Uhr. Denn vorher wird die Supper oder das Essen, aus vorher vorbereiteten Eimern nur aufgewärmt.

Essen etwas fad und Hühnchen schmeckt komisch.

Nettes kleines familiengeführtes Restaurant, wo die lecker Speisen frisch zubereitet werden. Punktabzug gibt es aber für die Toilettensituation, die verbesserungswürdig ist.

We used to get food from Rani multiple times a year, but our last experience was probably our last time ordering there. We were so disappointed. First of all, the portions shrank, but of course the prices stayed the same. This time was the first time that we actually could have finished our portions in terms of amount of the amount of food. Our main dishes came in a dish separated into 3 compartments - one for the rice, one for the sauce and one for salad. We didn’t get any sauces for the pakoras, instead the pakoras were on top of salad that was swimming in a brown spicy sauce and everything was soggy. Our garlic naan looked undercooked and had barely any garlic on it. My lamb korma actually had nearly as many chunks of paneer as there was lamb…. That’s one way of reducing the amount of lamb that you have to portion out. We eat a lot of Indian food and have many Indian friends, never have we had paneer chunks in a korma dish. Unfortunately the lamb was also quite dry and chewy. All in all, the food was lacking taste and unfortunately not worth the money we paid for it.

Sehr leckerer Yogitee und leckeres indisches Essen zum guten Preis.

I ordered butter chicken and chicken curry from Rani, first of all the quantity was very less for the amount you are paying. Coming to the taste the butter chicken was only salty there were no indian spices added to it and the chicken pieces were not grilled or marinated in both the chicken curry and butter chicken quite opposite of what the restaurant claims that they do. Now coming to chicken curry the gravy was very much similar what to you find in REWE for butter chicken and it was very sweet. This is not authentic Indian these type of food you find in the trains in India.

Ordered from Rani last night and did not have a great meal. The food tasted as if it were a few days old and made my girlfriend and I feel nauseous. In addition 1 of our order was supposed to be vegetarian, instead, we received a meat dish that did not satisfy our appetite. I leave this review in the hopes that the restaurant becomes aware of some flaws in their practice and improves on them for the future

Seit über 20 Jahren kenne und liebe ich Rani. Als ich Ende der 90er nach Berlin kam und in Schöneberg wohnte kam ich entdeckte Rani. Leckeres Essen und toller Service. Bis heute bin ich regelmäßiger Gast hier udn liebe es immer noch.

Sehr empfehlenswert und unheimlich lecker. Wir sind besonders nett bedient worden und haben das gute Essen und den Tee sehr genossen. Vielen Dank. Gern kommen wir wieder.
