Rancho Grande in Neumünster

This was our first time back in years because we wanted to give Rancho a chance. Well, never again. The carpaccio was frozen and tasteless. The steaks were only lukewarm if you ordered them medium-rare. The fries were bland, and the spinach served with the salmon steak was completely unseasoned. The fried potatoes were swimming in grease. Oh well. Next time, it's back to Block House.

Unfortunately, the steak wasn't medium as ordered. The knives weren't steak-friendly, and the pork steak was very dry and overcooked.

The ambiance and service were excellent. Unfortunately, the coordination in the kitchen was really poor. All four people at the table had just finished their starters when the main course arrived. Of course, we didn't have it. Five minutes later, another waiter was standing in front of the table with the plates, and everything was completely cooked. The great service staff recognized this and everything came fresh. The starter and dessert were good, the main course was merely okay, and we all had to add more seasoning. It's a shame, really, as I had hoped for something different for my birthday.

The ambiance was nice, especially the view of the pond. The service was friendly, but the food was really bad. The dressing on my daughter's salad had hardly any flavor, the potato on my grilled plate had a strange aftertaste, and the sour cream had hardly any flavor.

The meal was a disaster. The fried potatoes and fries weren't seasoned. The fish had no flavor, and the underside was burnt. The mushrooms were watery and tasted like canned food. The icing on the cake, however, was the hair on my fries.

A very nice place, friendly service, and a wide selection of dishes. They also have dishes priced under €20. It's clean, tidy, and elegant. If you're in Neumünster, stop by for lunch or coffee. It's a great place.

There's the best wine, burgers, fries and steaks. I fully recommend the view on the outside part. You can also go there if you're single or in relationship. Have fun and enjoy it!

A solid restaurant, good food at reasonable prices. But a steakhouse should ALWAYS offer steak sauce with a steak, and for free. At Rancho Grande, you always have to ask and "beg" for it.

The salad was old, not fresh. I only paid €5.60 for three shrimp. Wait a minute! I had four tomatoes in it, and the bread wasn't cooked all the way through. A bad recommendation for the Caesar salad. It probably would have tasted better if I'd eaten something else.

I was at Rancho Grande in Neumünster recently and I was absolutely thrilled. I had a burger with fries and a cocktail, and everything was simply unbelievably delicious. The burger was juicy, perfectly seasoned, and super fresh. The fries were nice and crispy, and the cocktail was just right—not too strong and perfectly balanced. What really made the whole thing special, though, was the service. A huge thank you to Svenja! Super friendly, attentive, and with a really good mood. You immediately felt at home and could tell that the work here is done with passion. I can absolutely recommend Rancho Grande. Great food, a fantastic atmosphere, and really enjoyable service. I'll definitely be back!

We've been sitting here for 25 minutes and still don't have anything to drink. But the food is just arriving. It's not the waiter's fault! The gentleman is very diligent.

Food was great 👍 20 euros for a reservation with decoration is a rip-off, small artificial arrangement, worn-out candle and 3 folded napkins... annoying!!!

It was served in the following order, each 5 minutes apart: steak - drink - side salad & steak knife.

Overall, the food was quite good, the baked potato was excellent - but the mayonnaise sauce was not needed. Of the three meats I tried, the beef was a bit dry, the pork and turkey were good. The tiramisu was excellent, the service was very attentive and friendly. I would definitely come back – clear recommendation!

We were there with four adults and two children. Everything was great for the adults: a great steak, a delicious burger and there was also something vegetarian - really good! What is not possible, however, is dealing with child-friendliness. Our kids wanted to eat burgers, so they left out three ingredients and added two others - a simple swap, you would think. Instead, an extra charge of almost €6 per burger was charged – for children! Unfortunately, a query to the junior boss did not provide any insight. That was pretty cheeky and anything but customer-oriented. The atmosphere is nice, but we definitely won't be coming back with children. Without children – gladly. With – better somewhere else.

Large portions are definitely to be expected at this restaurant. The service is always top notch, you are asked right at the beginning how many people you need a seat for and you are either given a free choice or you are taken to a seat. The food is always prepared in such a way that wishes are respected without any problems.

I can recommend a nice restaurant in the city center from the terrace, a nice view.

Dosenchampignons sind echt unterste Schublade. Und die dazugehörige Sauce à la creme leider das reinste Gematsche ohne Geschmack. Der Rest des Gerichtes war essbar, aber für ein Steakhouse sehr enttäuschend.

Super delicious food with friendly service on the first floor

My husband and I are regulars at this beautiful restaurant. We receive a very warm welcome, very friendly. If we order, the food is there after 10 minutes. Of course we start with a starter and then eat our main course. Now is the season for smoked spare ribs. I can only recommend everyone to eat there.

Friendly welcome and good quick service. Care is taken to ensure that the food is brought to you at the same time, even for larger groups. The homemade drinks are recommended. Ambiance is absolutely perfect for the city center area and is stylishly furnished.

Very nice service and very tasty food

When I came in I found it very nice and comfortable. I sat by the window on a comfortable looking bench. Unfortunately the tables are too high and I felt like a toddler. I had the farmer's salad with turkey breast. The meat was terrible, tasted like nothing and was full of tendons. The dressing was sparse and diluted with water. Simply terrible. In addition, there was dust all the time and trickling down from above. Pretty gross. It wasn't very busy, but the waiter took forever to serve the hot drink ordered from the menu. When we reminded him, it probably took another 10 to 15 minutes. So I don't have to go there again.

Okay, but nothing special. The restaurant is very loud, making it very uncomfortable. In the summer, it's nice to sit outside.

Nice restaurant, friendly service. Unfortunately the food wasn't great. Rancho plate with fries was our dish, I expected something different for the price. Unfortunately the beef was not medium as ordered and was tough. But I was most disappointed with the fries, unfortunately they were simple thin 1 € fries from the discount store that were on the plate and so in the juice from the meat maybe you should find another way to place them there because unfortunately they were just soggy and not tasty. Too bad

Wir hatten Pfeffersteaks, das Fleisch war sehr gut aber die Pfeffersauce leider überhaupt nicht. Es ist Ketchup mit ganzen Pfefferkörnern. Das kenne ich so nicht, eine Pfeffersteak Sauce sollte dunkel- bis hellbraun sein, ordentlich Sahne und einen Schuss Cognac enthalten. Die „richtige „ Pfeffersauce mache ich oft auch selber und man benötigt viel Zeit für die Zubereitung der Sauce. Das Restaurant ist wirklich schön und der Service ist ebenfalls perfekt. Vielleicht noch einmal eine andere Pfeffersteaksauce anbieten. Das fände ich super. Danke

Very nice atmosphere and friendly staff. The food wasn't great, but it was good value for money. My highlight was the Dubai chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

Always delicious, but also more expensive. Service is difficult to keep up with. Unfortunately fries like at McD. Very thin and soft. Too bad.

Anyone who eats here should have no claim. I was there twice because I thought it was a series of clumsiness the first time. Unfortunately no. October 2024 0.5l wine ordered 2 glasses 0.2 received. Noted. The rest was not brought but was on the bill. The salmon fillet was raw inside, the potato gratin was cold, both went back to the kitchen. The service kept apologizing, that's it. January 2025 There was a soup for my girlfriend that tasted delicious, but unfortunately it wasn't even lukewarm. There were wilted stems in my peppermint tea. My meal was a total disaster. A mushroom pan with 3 pieces of meat. Everything was wrong with it... The chicken and pork were completely dry, the beef was like shoe soles. The mushrooms were canned mushroom heads. When you bite into it, it tastes just like canned water. The broccoli was frozen, not cooked properly and had that off-taste from being in the freezer for too long. The cheese on top tasted burnt, however that was possible. I was too hungry to send everything back. 2 stars because I ate it anyway and if you ignored the disgusting taste you could eat it without hesitation. At least the service was better here. The employee was friendly. Courteous. We honestly told her our opinion about the food and had already ordered a dessert before the main course. This one came too. We got it on the house. This “Dubai cheesecake” is probably the only thing that is actually homemade in this kitchen. You can even recommend that. Delicious. The ambience is ok. It's very resonant. Technically you have a nice view outside, but you don't think much of cleaning the windows there. You might want to think about it if you run a location with a wrap-around window front. No longer an option for me.

There are hardly any nice restaurants in Neumünster! That's why the Rancho is always a good address...

If you want to eat good steaks, you should avoid this restaurant. The steaks were served almost cold. Unfortunately, the cooking level was also missed in the second attempt. The fries were neither crispy nor warm. We went to this restaurant twice - the first and the last time. The ambience is quite appealing.

Unfortunately, the Rancho Grande restaurant didn't convince me. The fries were very bad and left a lot to be desired in terms of quality and taste. The meat was okay, but overall the dishes aren't particularly impressive. The friendliness of the staff could also be improved, as criticism is not properly accepted, which significantly spoils the overall impression. A positive aspect is the pleasant ambience, which enhances the stay somewhat. However, that is not enough to ignore the weaknesses. Unfortunately not a place I can recommend.

Waiters super nice and service top. The only thing you should change is the cook.. Now cold soggy fries 3 times in a row.. and the portions are getting smaller and smaller. Fried potatoes taste like nothing and weren't cooked through. I've given it a chance 3 times now and been disappointed 3 times. We won't be coming back.

Nice restaurant with good food, nice service and reasonable prices

Unfortunately it is very loud and restless in the restaurant. Unfortunately, the table we were sitting at had not been wiped down and so there were still leftovers from the previous guest on the table. Unfortunately our service wasn't very friendly. The kitchen is very inflexible. I wanted to swap the pattie from the burger for another one, but this wasn't possible. Unfortunately the burger didn't arrive warm and the bun was very dry. The fries weren't fried long enough and were soft and cold.

Meat is okay. Fries are more bad than good. What is an absolute no-go is the so-called chili cheese sauce - it is probably a poorly made mayo. A certain credit card (Amex) is also not accepted, which in and of itself is not the problem. But when the waiter checked three times that I was using a different card, I also lost my patience.

Very nice and professional service. Unfortunately the food was a disaster. First bruchetta with completely soaked bread, then lukewarm steak and cold fries. It was replaced immediately by super nice waiters, but by the second it was even worse. Also lukewarm and almost raw. Fries cold again. Never again. And I forgot one more thing: when I got the second "better" meal, the nice waiter came with a portion of fries for me if they were too cold on my plate. So the cook knew that I would get cold food again.

Sadly the veggy bugers were limited to 1 option which then was very dry and crumbly. Cocktails were noticeably “soft”. Nice atmosphere though.

The food was very tasty! Burger with a fluffy, toasted sourdough bun, fresh greens on top and an excitingly seasoned, homemade sauce. The only drawback...the fries. They were thin and salty like Mces, but not as mushy. I would have expected slightly thicker fries. The staff was also very friendly and accommodating. And the entire location is of course very beautiful with the window front running all around.

Ich kann die vielen negativen Bewertungen nicht nachvollziehen. Wir hatten einen schönen Abend mit toller Aussicht auf den illuminierten See. Das Essen war von guter Qualität und der Service freundlich, offen und fix. Preis/Leistung angemessen, und die Atmosphäre von drinnen schöner als von draußen gedacht. Alles OK.

Were there yesterday. It was so delicious. Meat tender. Vegetables and also the salad were super fresh and delicious. Sauces are simply awesome. Price reasonable and service was very nice. Thumbs up. We'll be back. 👌👌👌👌👌
