Very good indian food, enjoyed food every time I went there.

The Raja Rani restaurant is definitely recommended. I ordered the Garlic Naan, the Chicken Rolls and Butter Chicken. In addition, two sauces are included free of charge. The food was very tasty, the portions were more than filling!

The restaurant is located a little far from the old town and has a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Reasonable and delicious. The freshly baked naan was also delicious. It's also good that the men's and women's toilets have separate entrances.

We just moved to Heidelberg a few weeks ago and we are trying all the Indian restaurants in Heidelberg. Out of all the places we have tried so far, I would say this is the best value for money till now. Service was nice, food was decent. Overall, for sure deserves a repeat visit.

Great service, great quality and great food

The restaurant was below average. I ordered Fish curry and Rasmalai. The price was okay but the food wasn’t good at all. The curry doesn’t taste Indian. There’s no spice in it. Tasted like they just put the Fishes in the sauce and warmed it up. There are better Indian restaurants in Heidelberg.

The food was very basic. I can’t really recommend this restaurant to anyone if they wanna try Indian food. It tasted like the curry was pre-made and they heated it up. The price is cheap so is the food. Won’t recommend.

We arrived 1.5 hours before closing time and ordered as normal. 5 minutes after the food came, we were asked to please hurry up. Every few minutes we were urged to eat faster. Meanwhile the chairs were put up and the shop around us was mopped. We had to hold on to our beer so that it wouldn't be taken away from us. If you want to close earlier, you have to communicate this with the guests beforehand. Very unpleasant experience!

Considering it says “quick restaurant” at the entrance, the food is of very good quality! Had the lamb vindaloo… it was very good. My wife’s chicken jalfrezi too. There is nothing to complain about in terms of quality!

Excellent food! loved the exceptional flavour of Chicken Chilli Special and the Chicken Jalfrezi has a fanatstic depth of flavour. recommend both dishes. The butter naan was ok (nothing special). This is a must go place!!

The food was unnecessarily very spicy. The biryani had to be mixed with plain rice just to make it edible. Achari chicken, even after mentioning to be made mild, was made severely spicy. From the gravies, only chicken vindaloo was good. Dal makhani was good! The staff was not very friendly. Even after an inquiry about closing time, we were denied service in the acceptable time agreed upon.

Delicious lunch, fresh and tasty dishes. Cold drinks. Authentic music. Delicious lentil curry. For lovers of really spicy food, the chicken chilli special (38) is highly recommended. Upon request we received a plate with a selection of mixed starters. Very friendly, relaxed and helpful staff. We enjoyed!

Were served immediately in a friendly manner. The mango lassi is very tasty and perfect in this weather and I ate all of my Chicken Tandori Marsala even though I arrived almost full because it was so delicious 😅

The owner behaved very bad, had very bad experience!!! We are Indians and he called every Indians to be the same, he used not so good words. We asked for extra tissue papers, and he was very rude to us . Highly unprofessional. Very bad experience. I would request you to go through all the 1 star review and they are mostly by Indians and with the same issue. I was so disappointed with this behaviour and felt sad. The lady was a bit considerate but the manager was very arrogant and even shouted at us on confronting

Fantastic food. Tastes healthy and fresh and delicious. I appreciate that it is not too spicey. Heaps of vegetarian options. I thought the prices were reasonable.

Very tasty curries, good value for money

I wanted to place an order by phone. "To pick up?" Me: “No, please deliver”. - "Pick up?" - "No, please deliver to your home." And she just hung up. Simply impossible. We then ordered via Lieferando because we always liked the food (it was ok this time too) and didn't feel like looking for something else. It remains to be seen whether we will order here again...

I came here to eat punjabi food and I found it very good everything has a taste of pure indian and they make proper punjabi food.

I had a very bad experience from this restaurant. To start with, the service was really bad. The waiters were rude and arrogant. It is as if we are there for charity. The waiter who took our order wanted us to order everything before hand, he was adamant they we cannot order anything extra during our meal. The other staff was rude as well when inquired if they take card. What I noticed is that this attitude was only towards Indian customers. I am not asking for any special treatment but they should provide adequate service for the price we pay. Food was bland. Same tandoori chicken pieces in both the curries we ordered and both had the same base gravy without any distinctive taste. The menu was basic, just some chicken and lamp dishes. No Beef items was available. Quantity of the food was also very less, which is exactly why I wanted to order something extra during the meal. Overall a very bad experience 👎 Won't recommend this to anyone.

I had a highly disappointing experience at this restaurant recently. From the moment we walked in, the staff's attitude was unwelcoming. We were greeted with indifferent looks and it felt like we were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. The service throughout the meal was equally unfriendly. When we had questions about the menu, the server seemed annoyed and impatient, as if answering us was a chore. This rude behavior really dampened our dining experience. As for the food, it did not make up for the poor service. The dishes were bland and lacked any distinctive flavor. The presentation was lackluster, and it was clear that minimal effort had gone into preparing the meals. We left most of the food uneaten because it was simply not enjoyable. To top it off, when we voiced our concerns to the manager, hoping for some resolution or at least an apology, we were met with more rudeness and a dismissive attitude. It was clear that customer satisfaction was not a priority here. Overall, this visit was a complete letdown. The unfriendly staff and subpar food make it hard for me to recommend this place to anyone. Save your time and money and look for a restaurant that values its customers and serves quality food.

Had a very bad experience in this restaurant. The food quantity is very less when compared to the price. And very bad service. They refused to take our order when we wanted to order more saying we cannot keep ordering again and again because this is not how Germans order. This comparison in our Indian restaurants is very disappointing. Also they almost started arguing with us rather than providing us what we wanted to order. Very rude behaviour overall and no hospitality. This restaurant seemed to be operating more for Germans than for Indians which is very disappointing.

A nice Indian restaurant in Heidelberg that offers dine in facility. It seems the restaurant is there since 1999, and so the furniture and ambience gives you that unique feeling of a cozy old Delhi restaurant. Food is nice. We tried Chicken Biryani, Karachi Murgh, Chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Rogan Josh, Mango/Banana/Jeera Lassi. The main course that we ordered were all.nice especially the chicken vindaloo. Lamb Rogan Josh is also recommended with Nan/Butter Nan. Biryani was ok but it's not my type as I am more used to less masala-more flavor type of biriyanis. I liked banana Lassi which gave me a much needed relief from the traditional mango Lassi that we order every time. The cost is also much affordable. For 5 person, we paid 94.5 which is highly reasonable.

Wonderful restaurant. As soon as you walk in you will be greeted by a warm ambience. Raja Rani is really nicely decorated and the people are really friendly. I was welcomed warmly and without a long wait. The food is very tasty and beautifully prepared!

I was there with my family and a friend's family one week back. The quality & the taste of the food is okay but the portion was less compared to price. They served small slices of chicken pakora in a large flat plate which was looking funny. The waiter who was serving us, was very much impatient while we were discussing among ourselves to order the food. May be they are understaffed at that moment. But, I have had a much better experiences of Indian Restaurants in Frankfurt and other part of Germany.

チャイは美味しかったです。タンドリーチキンカレー(9.9ユーロ)は、我々の想像とは違う料理でした。具体的にはスパイスが感じられなくてトマトスープのような印象で、タンドリーチキンも期待したスパイスの風味はなかったです。(ヨーロッパ仕様なのかも知れません)

Bad value for money. The chicken and paneer dishes have 4 small pieces of chicken and paneer respectively. Lots of rice though.

The chicken curry was very bland. The butter chicken was good. Service was great. Atmosphere is alright. Overall: Nothing special, but not bad either.

Food itself is good - but the amount of Nan that is given to you for €3.5 is really bad, enough for a maximum of a quarter of the meal. In general, the portions are not huge, but they are not hugely expensive either. It's just because of the amount of Nan that I rarely go there, because it's really not only ridiculous but also contemptuous towards the customers. Please change something about that!

Friendly service and the food comes to the table quickly. The food was very hot. The dishes we had were very German. Little Indian spice. This was ideal for the older people we had with us. Only at the Aloo Parata did some Delhi memories come back. The other dishes were tasty, but not “Indian” in taste.

Unfortunately it doesn't even deserve one star. The dishes have no taste at all and the service is very, very bad. This is the first time I have eaten fancy curry with the taste of tomato sauce and not curry.🤣🤣🤣 The chicken korma tastes like sugar, not like mango😭😭😭 Mango lassi has no taste at all I would never recommend trying it.

Tucked in a very peaceful part of the city of Heidelberg. The hotel gives a cute vibe of a small Indian restaurant and the staffs were really good. For drinks we ordered the mango and Jeera lassi which turned out to be very refreshing in the scorching heat. We were really hopeful that the food turned out equally good as the drinks, sadly that wasn’t the case. We ordered garlic naan, chicken biriyani, Rotis and Karahi ghost. Everything on the main course except the rotis turned out to be a disappointment. The chicken biriyani had a taste of sauce. The naan couldn’t have gone wrong usually, but even that wasn’t great. So I can hardly recommend this place. Just made me doubt my search for good authentic Indian restaurant in Germany!

Very good, the order usually doesn't take long!

Food was good. We tried 2 dishes in the main course (Paneer Tikka masala and mushroom masala), samosa's and mango lassi. Everything was good. We asked the chef to make dishes a little spicy and they accepted our request and made the dish as per our requirements. The attendants were polite and helpful. I would recommend this place after a great trip in Heidelberg.

It's actually a fast food joint, but with plenty of seating. A bit annoying is the clattering when the dishes are being pre-sorted. Therefore only 3 stars for the ambience.

The quality-price relation is okey. It's not expensive but also some of the dishes that have rice and chicken in them, you basically have 80% rice and not that much meat. I would recommend the Butter chicken, not that much the Biryanu one, as it was a bit dry. The place is near the center but a bit a part so if it's early you can find a spot easily. The staff is nice and the service is fast.

Bestelle dort seit Jahren Essen zum Abholen. Die Gerichte haben immer die selbe Qualität und das Preis Leistungsverhältnis ist super! Das Essen ist meistens in 15-20 fertig. Ich kann das Chilli chicken spezial und natürlich den Mango Lassi nur empfehlen.

Für mich einer der besten Inder weit und breit! Das Essen ist tadellos, das Ambiente einfach angenehm, weil genug Tische vorhanden und nett dekoriert, außerdem in einem ruhigeren Teil der Altstadt gelegen und der Service wunderbar unaufdringlich und trotzdem super aufmerksam! Ein kleiner Geheimtipp hier im teuren Heidelberg, denn hier zu essen kann man sich sogar als Studierender leisten. ;)

Uns schmeckt's da eigentlich immer ganz gut und die Bedienung finden wir recht freundlich. Was uns aber am ehesten gefällt ist der Fakt dass das Raja Rani immer voller indischer Gäste ist. Wenn die da reingehen muss es ja wohl gut sein! Jetzt habe ich aber die vielen wirklich vernichtenden Kritiken der offensichtlich indischen Kritiker gelesen und bin mir nicht mehr so sicher... Hmmmmm.

es war Geldverschwendung. Nichts war frisch, sie erhitzten nur altes Essen und servierten es uns. Die Zutaten, die sie für die Essenszubereitung verwendeten, waren gering. Sie verwendeten Kürbissauce anstelle der anderen im Menü erwähnten Zutat. Es lag in der Natur des Kunden, unfreundlich zu sein.
