Value for money is a solid 6. I ordered currywurst without fries, even though the menu listed it as being served with fries. When I got the bill, the very flippant waiter said it was the same price (1 currywurst with just the sauce costs €14.50!!!) and he wouldn't deduct anything. That's cheeky.

The restaurant has been open again for about a week under the name "Au Lack 51." Very good service, excellent food, and a similar wine selection.

Unfortunately, our visit to Monte Lago was very disappointing. Even at check-in, there was no friendly or courteous greeting at all. The waiters seemed consistently bad-tempered, which was also reflected in the service – we didn't feel welcome. The wait times for food and drinks were disproportionately long. Even during our stay, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else, nor was any interest shown in the well-being of the guests. Overall, the service seemed lackluster and inattentive. The food itself was okay, but couldn't salvage the overall impression. It's particularly unfortunate that the staff's bad mood seems to rub off on the guests – that shouldn't be the case in a restaurant. We won't be visiting Monte Lago again.

Very nice Italian restaurant with very friendly service

Chirping birds, the view over green hills, the aroma of the grill, and then that steaming pan of Kaiserschmarrn. It doesn't get more alpine than this. You completely lose track of time. And when the food tastes as good as it does here, you won't want to go home.
