Monte Lago in Rottach-Egern

Unfortunately, our visit to Monte Lago was very disappointing. Even at check-in, there was no friendly or courteous greeting at all. The waiters seemed consistently bad-tempered, which was also reflected in the service – we didn't feel welcome. The wait times for food and drinks were disproportionately long. Even during our stay, we weren't asked if we wanted anything else, nor was any interest shown in the well-being of the guests. Overall, the service seemed lackluster and inattentive. The food itself was okay, but couldn't salvage the overall impression. It's particularly unfortunate that the staff's bad mood seems to rub off on the guests – that shouldn't be the case in a restaurant. We won't be visiting Monte Lago again.

It was actually quite tasty, and the service was friendly, but unfortunately the pasta sauce was way too salty 🙁. Otherwise, everything was fine.

Disastrous food. I've truly never experienced anything like it. There were four of us and we had three different dishes, and they all tasted unbelievably bad. I've also been having stomach problems ever since. The service was okay, but that was it. The food tasted like frozen ready meals and some of it was completely oversalted. This kind of thing shouldn't leave a kitchen, especially not at these prices. It was also pretty empty, even though it was Horse Festival today and the other restaurants were busy. Now we know why. Once and never again!!!

We went to Monte Lago in Rottach yesterday for a drink and a bite to eat. Unfortunately, the visit was very disappointing overall❗️ The table we were seated at was very sticky – it was really uncomfortable to put our hands there. The portion of gnocchi, while tasty, was very small and served without Parmesan or pepper. After our plates were cleared, we were completely ignored for almost 45 minutes. No one came by to ask if we wanted anything else. It wasn't until much later that a server took care of our empty glasses, but only halfheartedly – ​​the attention was the whole time focused on the guests at the next table, who were obviously more "well-known." Even while paying, I was interrupted because the server preferred to continue chatting with the table next to me. I had to repeat my payment request several times because no one listened. This feeling of being treated like a second-class guest was extremely unpleasant. Once and never again – for me, a resounding "no, thank you."

We, two adults and two children, were looking for a cozy restaurant outside of lunchtime. At Monte Lago, we received a very friendly welcome and were treated to extremely tasty food, including fulfilling our special requests. We'd be happy to return!

Unfortunately, we can't award more points. Having to wait over an hour for our drinks is simply too long. The pizza was okay, but nothing special—especially for the price. While they apologized for the poor service when we paid, a small compensation like a shot on the house would have defused the situation. Our visits here used to be much better. It's a shame!

We were there for lunch and ordered three pizzas, but the wait was far too long, even though it was quiet. Since we were sitting very close to the kitchen counter, we could see that a pizza had been waiting for pickup for a while and was then delivered to the wrong table. After the waiter had taken a bite of it himself, he brought it to us in all seriousness. We didn't take it, of course, which the waiter took note of very unhappily. It took almost an hour until we finally got our pizzas; no apology, nothing. We haven't encountered such rude behavior in a long time; we should have left immediately. On top of that, the pizzas were burnt, and the chili oil my husband got with them had mold in it. I definitely don't recommend this place! Simply disgusting...

Great restaurant with excellent food and service. The drinks are freshly mixed and delicious.

Yesterday, we sat at a table with six people for 22 minutes, and no one came to take our order. So we left the restaurant. Not even all the tables were occupied. It's unbelievable what bad service and poor organization can do. The place doesn't look very inviting anyway, and you can already sense that it's a tourist rip-off. But if you don't get anything, you can't get ripped off.

We went there for a drink on a Friday evening. Unfortunately, several drinks from the menu were unavailable. Even identical cocktails had significant differences in the fill levels. The waitress only appeared once in 1.5 hours, even though the bar was barely busy. The restaurant used to be packed on evenings like these—it's a shame how things have changed.

We ordered a Margherita pizza, which the menu listed as having buffalo mozzarella and basil. The pizza topping didn't match what was advertised. As Italian food connoisseurs, there was absolutely no buffalo mozzarella, and then a few dollops of pesto on watery tomatoes. That's totally unacceptable. Unfortunately the bitter lemons were expired by 3 months after we showed this, the bottles were ripped out of our hands and not accepted, we also didn't get any new drinks, what a pity, I liked coming here to the monte

There really is something for everyone here, from the young to the young at heart. Here you can simply have a nice and comfortable drink, but you can also eat sensibly and make your day a little more colorful at the lavish bar.

An incredibly good pizzeria with style and ambience with very good food and service. We spontaneously went here for dinner with the whole family and were very impressed. I can really recommend it to everyone. We'll be back.

Nice atmosphere with friendly staff. Orders taken quickly and food served promptly. We ordered bruschetta and pumpkin seed soup. Both tasted very good and were reasonably priced. There is a covered outdoor area with heaters. All in all, a recommended restaurant for in between. Dogs are allowed.

Disappointed this time after several visits. The tagliatelle with chanterelles was still quite hard and there was no bread. White Burgundy €9.80, completely overpriced compared to the neighborhood. Service rather slow. On the second visit the table was dirty and the request to clean it was not fulfilled. We wiped it ourselves with disinfectant wipes and they were “pity black.” Neighboring tables were also dirty and were not wiped down. The pizza was OK. Unfortunately only mediocre.

If you are looking for a very good restaurant then this is the address, music also matches the ambience. The waitresses are both very nice and attentive. Acceptable restaurant, but unfortunately with poor service. The food was basically okay, but the waiter dropped a knife into my back while clearing the neighboring table. My jacket and top had tomato sauce stains. There was no interest in whether I was okay and my clothes remained clean, nor was there a real apology. I found this incident more than disappointing for a middle class restaurant in Rottach.

We have also been guests at Monte Lago for several years. We were guests there for several days now. Conclusion as always: great ambience, nice background music, super nice service staff and very good food. We felt very taken care of and will come back.

Wir sind unangemeldet und ohne Reservieren in das Restaurant gegangen und haben trotzdem einen kleinen gemütlichen Platz bekommen, der Service war super freundlich und hat uns schnell Bedient. Des Weiteren kennen wir uns hier nicht aus und wurden über weiter Interessante Gegenden in der Nähe informiert. Das Essen war sehr lecker, das „Fränkische Schäufle“ und die „Pizza Tonno“ haben uns sehr überzeugt und uns zu dieser Bewertung bewegt… Sodass wir am nächsten Tag gleich wieder hier her sind! SEHR EMPFEHLUNGSWERT!

Mitten in Rottach-Egern gelegen, modernes Ambiente. Wir waren zweimal dort. Beides Mal waren wir begeistert von Essen und Service. Wir hatten Lachs, Maishendl, Nudeln mit Pfifferlingen und Wildbratwurst. Alles schmeckte sehr gut. Preis-Leistung-Verhältnis gut. Alles perfekt. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Sehr schönes, relativ neu erscheinendes, Restaurant. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der italienischen Küche, aber es gibt auch andere Gerichte, wie Cheeseburger, Burrata mit Humus und einiges andere. Der Service ist sehr aufmerksam. Zu unserer Freude konnten wir auch das DFB-Pokalfinale dort anschauen. :-)

Ein schönes Restaurant in der Stadtmitte mit einer tollen Terrasse. Das Personal ist sehr aufmerksam und immer gut gelaunt. Wir waren nur zum trinken da und haben ein sehr leckeres Bruschetta in einer eigenen Kreation gegessen. Wir können dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen. Das Konzept die verschiedenen Länderstile und Kulturen zu einem Gadttokonzept zu verknüpfen finden wir sehr gelungen.

Wir hatten einen wundervollen Jahresausklang mit einem exzellenten 7-Gang Silvester-Menu auf Sterne Niveau - und das zu einem sehr moderaten Preis. Dazu die stets persönliche Ansprache und der sehr aufmerksame Service. Der Chefkoch ging nach getaner Arbeit von Tisch zu Tisch und erkundigte sich, ob alles gemundet hat. Das Essen wird hier sehr frisch und super lecker zubereitet. Ein Lob an den Koch! Das Steak war perfekt medium gebraten und das Gemüse hatte noch biss. Mit dem super, empfohlenen Wein vom Chef, war der Abend sehr gelungen. Vielen Dank an das Team vom Monte Lago, ich komme sehr gern wieder.

Empfehlung: neben dem César Salad das Filet vom bayrischen Jungbullen und den spanischen Rotwein. Schön auch das Brot mit Olivenöl vorweg. Aufmerksamer und zugleich unaufgeregter Service. Herrlich. Terasse und einige Nischen in Räumen, genauso soll es sein. Das Publikum, anders als in manch anderen Lokatinen, schön gemischt.

Tolle Speisekarte und sehr freundliches Personal. Hier klappt alles bestens, mit Tischreservierung und gute Küche! Wir hatten Rinderfilet und Flankbeef, welches wunderbar zart und in medium serviert wurde. Die Sicherheitsbedingungen dank Corona sind auch vorbildlich erfüllt. Dankeschön.

Mit Abstand das beste Preis Leistungsverhältnis zur Zeit am Tegernsee. Das beste Wiener Schnitzel für 19,80 Euro mit selbstgemachtem Kartoffeln Endivien Salat, das ich je gegessen habe und es waren viele;) Perfekt soufliert, zum auf der Zunge schmelzen perfekt plattiert, wunderbar gewürzt ein absoluter Traum! Die a La minute gekochten Linguine mit aufgeschlagenem Trüffelbutter zum Trüffelschaum und frischem Sommer Trüffel waren die besten Pasta der letzten Jahre bis hoch zum Sterne Restaurant. Und das für 22 Euro. Die Portionen perfekt. Da bekommt man am See sonst nur für den doppelten Preis die Hälfte und nicht annähernd so gut. Der Service war auch erste Sahne.
