Q21 Gasthaus in Hamburg

The food was delicious – I had asparagus for €30, which was already quite expensive for a small wedge. Three (thick) asparagus spears and about seven small potatoes were a bit too little for the money, though. A shame. My friend's schnitzel, which was in the €20 range and served with delicious fries, was twice the size of mine, which adds to the review, but nothing more. Drinks were delicious, but unfortunately, service only came once in a two-hour window. Conclusion: I'll be back, but I'd prefer the regular menu (Großes Schnutzel).

We went to Q21 for Easter brunch and it was just terrible. A mass processing like I have rarely seen. There were 6 of us there and we hardly saw each other at the table because there were always 2-4 people standing in one of the ever-long lines to get something to eat. That annoyed me the most. If I add it all up, I probably spent somewhere between 45-60 minutes just waiting in lines. It took over 15 minutes just on the waffle iron. At €29 per person plus drinks, I experienced the worst price-performance ratio here in a long time. Potato gratin, which was completely baked without cheese and consisted only of potato slices that were drowned in cream sauce. Huge bowls of desserts were being churned through by the masses of children. Egg from the tetrapak. Mushy vegetables. Many buffet items were cleared away 30 minutes before the end or were simply not refilled. The friendly service staff is the only positive thing I remember. We won't be coming back.

Very crowded, maybe it's better on other days. Sometimes you had to wait in line for 15 minutes until you got to the buffet. The food was solid but didn't blow you away, but overall it was a bit too expensive.

We went there today for Easter brunch and I was really disappointed. Unfortunately, in my opinion, the price-performance ratio for 29 euros is not right at all. The scrambled eggs were out of the bag, the grilled sausages were lukewarm and undercooked. The potato gratin without cheese, the vegetables were bland and cooked dead. And so it goes on. Overall, it's designed more for quantity and not for quality. This was also noticeable in the utilization. There were far too many people for the small buffet on site. There was a huge queue at the buffet and we spent about an hour just standing in line. We stood in line for 20 minutes just for the waffles. Barely getting through at the tables because they were so squashed. It was loud so it was hard to understand each other and the buffet was worn out and no longer very attractive when we finally arrived. At least more was added so that everyone got something. However, the food was cleared away before 3 p.m., even though the buffet was scheduled to last until 3 p.m. But: the service was always very polite and courteous!

Were there for Easter brunch. Far too crowded (atmosphere like a train station hall at peak travel time), tables very closely spaced. Food quality and selection were average if at all, some dishes (e.g. cheese and salmon) were not refilled. Announced dishes (lamb) were not available. Staff tried hard and friendly but hopelessly overwhelmed. We had our drinks 1 hour after we arrived, plates were piled up on our table. Never again.

The breakfast/brunch buffet is awesome. It leaves nothing to be desired, although it's not cheap either, but the price is fully justified. We liked the industrial hall atmosphere.

Unfortunately it was another big disappointment. The table wasn't wiped, poor service and the farmer's breakfast was again just unseasoned egg and mashed potatoes. Takeaway apple crumble was ice cold. It would certainly have been served hot at the table. Too bad! Too bad! It's a shame for every cent.

So, we went to brunch in the neighborhood yesterday morning, and, well, everything was very good. Especially the waitress, even though she forgot our Coke in all the stress, she always had a smile on her face. P.S. to the blonde waitress, you're doing a great job... Hugs from me and my husband... Very large, but quick service and delicious food. Very suitable for groups

There were two of us there on the evening of March 28, 2025. A little time passed and then we ordered the drinks. After 15-20 minutes (1 drink, 1 bottle of water) they came. At the same time we order 1 cheeseburger with fries + grilled sausages with mashed potatoes and sauerkraut. Since my partner has celiac disease, we emphasized that there should be no wheat in her food. The food was labeled gluten-free, but of course we wanted to be on the safe side. 40 minutes passed and the food finally arrived. Unfortunately there were bread chips in the mashed potatoes. So the food had to go back. Also, when the burger came, I asked for mayonnaise. We're still waiting today. Rating of the food: Fries were tasty, the burger was very dry, the meat was pressed way too tightly. The sauerkraut was okay, the sausages, perhaps because it was supposed to be quick on the second try, didn't even have any roasted flavors. The mashed potatoes were okay. During our long stay we weren't even asked if we liked it or if we wanted to have another drink. All in all, it was a very disappointing evening for us and we don't believe that this was just bad luck.

Very large location, very loud. Food is nothing more than average convenience food (even Schweinske is better) but the prices are quite high. We were there with a group of 10 people. 3 got their food "already" after about 45 minutes, the rest had to wait a whole hour for fried schnitzel and warmed fried potatoes, which were also only lukewarm. It felt like the fries had only been briefly thrown through the deep fryer once. The service was friendly and couldn't help it - hence 2 stars. We won't be coming back.

Great alternative €10 dishes, either fried potatoes with side dishes or a couple of pasta dishes. Delicious as always. Friendly service. We love coming here for Sunday brunch.

Good menu, good food. Some dishes are worth the price, others such as the burgers I find too expensive, but correspond to "hamburger" standards. The service could be a little faster. I drink some more beer. Speaking of beer, the Q21 has its own or Barmbeker beer in different versions. Very tasty and recommended.

From the lunch table: 2 x Jägerschnitzel, 2 rhubarb spritzers Positive: The service was very friendly and very quick. We didn't have to wait long for the drinks and food. The food for €10 each was worse than canteen food. The schnitzel was so big that it took up the entire plate. But size isn't everything. The fries under the schnitzel were unfortunately completely flaky and not crispy. The “smear” of mushroom cream sauce was definitely a finished product. Without taste. I wouldn't have recognized the sauce if I was blindfolded. The spritzer was very thin. Conclusion no thanks, not again.

After waiting for service for over 30 minutes, even though we were notified at least 3 times, we left... The unfriendly and extremely overworked waitress carried each of the other guests' beers through the restaurant one by one... Without words but without me as a customer

The food tasted good but it was just ok. And that was the case for all 5 of us. Unfortunately the burgers were a bit small for the price. The service was friendly. We can recommend the restaurant, especially if you have children, as the children's corner is perfect and the little ones can play there. Unfortunately the food is just mediocre.

We spontaneously went there for breakfast yesterday. Not a second time. We weren't even asked if we wanted something to drink, we were ignored. Plates and bowls weren't clean, the buffet could have been kept a better eye on. The salt and pepper cruets on the table are also rather disgusting. There are tubes of mayo on the table, the contents look dried out. I find it dangerous to health to leave mayo like that. The service seems overwhelmed. I come from the industry and have often worked at extended breakfast or brunch. Sorry, paying the price wasn't fair. That's better.

You're shooting yourself in the foot with Neotaste! The breakfast times were incorrect and there was no alternative other than brunch for us. Unfortunately there was no option to order from the menu shortly before 12. You couldn't have breakfast anymore either. Very inflexible!

We were there with the company (18 people) and had a reserved long table. Barmbeker beer is available there in various forms, the food is tasty and came quite quickly for the large group. The prices are reasonable and rather low for Hamburg standards.

The Q21, the T.R.D.E and the Schachkaffee belong to one ownership group. The quality of the food, the staff and the ambience are good to very good in all 3 restaurants. I have visited all 3 restaurants several times and have been very satisfied so far, without exception. However, due to the size and height of the restaurant, it is very loud when it is full. The acoustics are poor due to the room. I think you can go here with a calm heart. There is also space for large groups, only one table should be reserved. We went to Q21 because everything in the T.R.U.D.E. was full, in the middle of the week. 2 charging stations with 4X11 kW charging spaces are located near the restaurant on the street. Oh yes, if you like going for a walk, you should take a look at Quartier 21, located behind the restaurant, a former, beautifully located hospital complex that has been converted into a residential area. It's worth it.

I had two lunches there at lunchtime and everything was very tasty. I would love to go back again

Large farmer's breakfast ordered outside of the house by phone. Unpacked at home, no lettuce or pickle, lukewarm and tastes like nothing. Live across the street. How bad and expensive something like that can be.

Very nice service. The ambience is nice and modern. You can pay well here because the food is pretty bad for the money. The quality of the products is cheap and the preparation is careless. We were very disappointed. Too bad.

Our visit today for the breakfast buffet was extremely disappointing! Very inattentive and unmotivated employees. We would have liked more attentive and friendly service, especially with a larger group. Despite the service being in need of improvement, a tip of 30 euros was given. The employee seemed rather ungrateful. The plates etc. from the tables were only cleared away very sporadically and only partially. Hot drinks often overflowed, so that with cappuccinos and espressos, for example, milk foam and coffee stuck to the outside of the coffee cup. It was served without a saucer, spoon straight INTO the cup. At the buffet there were hard rolls and bacon that had dried hard in the warming container for several hours and was not freshly refilled. The butter was placed in portions directly in cold water!? Very limited choice of cold cuts. Sorry, but that's cafeteria level. All in all, a very careless and neglected breakfast buffet. It's a shame... Actually a nice location, but not well managed.

No. We were there for the Superbowl and had booked the package consisting of a starter and a main course. The starter (nachos) were simple nachos, pulled lukewarm, with a good guacamole, but with squeeze cheese from a plastic bottle. The second portion came without guacamole because they apparently ran out of small bowls, which wasn't true. The main course, chicken wings, came lukewarm, with cold, soft onion rings. The hottest thing was the wedges. The portions were manageable. To the Super Bowl... After the technology went on strike and we couldn't do it with the 30th registration, ice hockey was shown for a long time. So RTL crowned the jungle idiot, RTL was simply shown, with technical interruptions. The offer was different than previously described on the Internet and although cocktail cart displays were claimed that it wasn't available today of all days. All in all... Superbowl again at any time, but Q21? No thanks.

SUPERBOWL Ticket €25.80 (a 2-course menu is served) I have rarely experienced such bad food. Ribs, wobbly and limp, wings too gristly, not really done, onion rings probably fried in old fat Burger, ridiculously small, a tablespoon of cowlslaw, burger buns probably fried in old fat, patties were dry, hard and the cheese seemed like it had been on the meatball for 2 days. Not really sauce on it. Apparently no long drinks on Superbowl night. Handled with a glass of cola and 2 shots of whiskey (it was probably all rum) mixed together myself. When this was noticed, the next order came with Cola and 2 shots, a long drink, without being asked. Half the size of the Coke with 2 shots, but almost as expensive, 20ct. cheaper. If you order one water, a whole bottle will be served. When you point out that you only want one glass, you are told that they only have bottles. Empty glass came extra. When ordering drinks, they always ask for "large"... Drink orders are sometimes forgotten. When purchasing tickets on the website, you should indicate how many people you are coming so that they can be assigned to the table. If you ask by phone, you will be told that there are no reservations, first come first serve. Absolutely profit-oriented, customer-friendly catering offerings are non-existent. Very unfortunate. The first and last time for us. There are so many good restaurants that really try to create a wonderful experience for their guests, without giving the feeling that the operator is trying to give the guest their money.

Unfortunately, below average quality for an above average price. The food was taken away from this restaurant for the first and last time. Fries don't appear to have been made fresh, but rather a little ahead of time (people who know about this can tell from the last picture). Such an approach saves time when preparing the order, but neglects the taste and impression. I'm a cheeseburger fan, but unfortunately this burger was disappointing. I would rather skip fresh cucumber and replace it with a gherkin and add a second slice of tomato.

Specially reserved for a romantic meal with my girlfriend on Christmas Day. The last corner at a small 2 seater table, behind us cables sticking out of the wall, next to us a 10 seater table. You felt like you were at the children's table next to the adults. Forgotten drinks, forgotten cutlery, food arrived at the table staggered. Forgot ketchup/mayo. We also had to initiate clearing/paying ourselves because no one came. Food was ok to good, the rest unfortunately wasn't great at all. The Chinese buffet around the corner would have been nicer overall.

The Q21 offers a rich breakfast and brunch buffet. Registration/reservation is of course important. However, I missed soup at brunch. What makes me happy at lunch is the carrot soup (sorry: "Grandma's potato carrot stew" with Mettendchen) for a fair price.

The offer advertised as a “large breakfast buffet” turned out to be rather poor. The selection consisted of 2-3 types of cold cuts and cheese, mozzarella with tomatoes, jam, Nutella, some vegetables, scrambled eggs, sausages and bacon. The antipasti, consisting of sour zucchini and eggplant, was also unconvincing. Overall, the presentation seemed careless and standardized, which did not do justice to the demands and size of the restaurant. For guests looking for a varied breakfast, there are certainly better alternatives. Unfortunately, the overwhelmed waiters added to the disappointing experience.

We went to Q21 for Saturday breakfast. The buffet is poorly set up, everything is only available through a long queue. The raw vegetables were a bit dry, and I don't think the selection of cold cuts was that good. It's great that you can make your own waffles.

Leider wurden wir bei der Reservierung nicht darauf hingewiesen, dass sonntags Brunchzeit ist. Eine Bestellung von der Karte war daher erst ab 13:00 Uhr möglich und das Essen kam dadurch auch erst sehr spät. Das war natürlich sehr schade. Ein entsprechender Hinweis bei Buchung wäre natürlich hilfreich gewesen.

Went there for the first time yesterday and I have to say the ambience was really well done and successful. The seats aren't super comfortable so you can sit there for hours, but the food is great, the service is good and I can definitely recommend it and say yes, that's it.

Waren zum Bruch: Essen war okay. Bei der Bestellung der Getränke gab es jedoch nur Schwierigkeiten. Statt bestellten Haferdrink kam normale Milch. Falscher Saft wurde gebracht. Bei der Bestellung des 2. Cappuccinos bekam ich nur die gefüllte Tasse, sollte die Untertasse vermutlich weiter nutzen. Nachfrage wurde nicht beantwortet, da die Bedienung kein deutsches Wort verstanden hat. Daher musste auch die Selter ein 2. x , bei der deutschsprachigen Bedienung, bestellt werden um diese einmal zu bekommen. Das Gasthaus war nicht voll besetzt, so dass ich diese Schwierigkeiten nicht nachvollziehen kann. Bei dem Preis habe ich einen besseren Service erwartet. Schade!!!

Arrived quite late but staff were helpful and friendly and made no bones about serving up delicious food with a smile. Places like this make Hamburg a great place to be. Will be going back.

I actually wanted to leave when I came in. It absolutely smelled like a toilet... when I wanted to go to the toilet, which was near the entrance (down the stairs), I immediately turned around. Disgusting! The service is also terrible, food and drink were served, we waited forever until it was covered and accordingly we didn't order anything to drink or dessert, the 2 remaining seats were already over. Food is way too overpriced for little service.

Wir hatten zum Weihnachtsbrunch echt mehr erwartet. Ente,Schwein,Fisch...alles trocken. Die Auswahl nicht wirklich groß und die Atmosphäre wie in einer Kantine.

I must have completely misjudged the situation. I wanted a nice and cozy Christmas brunch on December 25th. make. What I got was an insane background noise, tightly packed tables, very long queues and crowds at the buffet. I've rarely been so stressed after eating. The food was tasty, the selection was average to weak, the service was very attentive, the atmosphere was good. A good location for an evening of beer with friends. A clear wrong decision for brunch with the family. Nothing against the location, I just didn't research it well. PS: we had to look for a parking space for a long time.

Geplant war ein romantisches Essen mit meiner Freundin am 01. Weihnachtstag. Leider wurde daraus nicht ganz so viel. Der Tisch für 2 Personen lag in einer Ecke, direkt an einem voll besetzten großen Tisch mit einer 10 Personen Gesellschaft, so dass man sich wie am Kindertisch fühlte. In dieser Ecke hingen auch Kabel und Elektronik aus der Wand, die man hätte problemlos abdecken können. Die Bedienungen (anstatt einer festen Person, waren insgesamt 3 an unserem Tisch) waren nett, aber heillos überfordert. Bestecke fehlte, Ketchup und Mayo für die Pommes wurden nicht selbständig gebracht. Leere Gläser wurden nicht abgeräumt... Das Essen hat geschmeckt , war aber sehr lieblos auf den Teller gelegt... Alles in allem war das Erlebnis leider ernüchternd.

There were 8 of us on December 25th. eat together. Unfortunately, that was quite a disappointment. We waited almost 1 hour for our food. When the food finally came, of the 8 orders, 2 were incorrect, 1 was wrong and 1 was missing. The food that was delivered arrived cold. At the same time, there was a couple sitting next to us who arrived about 30 minutes after us and finished their meal before we even received ours. They didn't even ask if everything was OK or if it tasted good (if they knew their performance was poor?). Not even when we paid the bill. The waitress was apparently disappointed because we didn't tip enough and was reserved accordingly. I have to admit that I found the place visually quite appealing and the dishes that arrived correctly were okay - but I wouldn't visit this place again. There are clearly better restaurants there. Too bad.

The fresh, home-brewed Barmbeker beer is great! The food is enough to fill you up - no special cuisine. The Q21 Burger is recommended. The ambience is actually like a tavern in a historic building - very nice! Somewhat loud background noise due to the size.

Everything fine! All positive! A very nice location with friendly employees. The food was delicious and there was something for everyone, big and small. There is also a play area for the little ones where they can play without being disturbed. In summer, the small (large) beer garden or perhaps the terrace with a view of the countryside and partial sunset - so beautiful! We always like to come back.

Friendly service, interesting ambience, but unfortunately quite loud - so more for colleagues and groups than for a cozy evening 😉

I think it's a disgrace that the Christmas buffet, which costs 30 euros per person, doesn't include drinks in the price, so you'd better go somewhere else and cancel your reservation, in our opinion that's not possible at all

Wir waren am Samstag zum Frühstücks Buffet im Quartier. Das Buffet hat keine außergewöhnlichen Speisen, es gibt aber alle Standards , Aufschnitt, verschiedene Käsesorten auch Rührei , verschiedene Müslis und einiges mehr .Alles sehr appetitlich und sauber angerichtet.Es wurde immer wieder aufgefüllt. Man braucht keine Highlights erwarten aber Preis Leistung passt . Das Personal sehr freundlich und aufmerksam. Die Location hat ein rustikales Fabrik Flair, hat uns super gefallen .Toll war außerdem das unser Hund mit ins Lokal durfte.Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

I had reserved a table for my birthday and stated so on OpenTable. When we arrived there were no congratulations and only a careless "Follow me please!" After a few meters we stopped and were allowed to choose a side of the room. I wonder what this would mean if you could ultimately choose where you sit. When we decided, we wanted to sit down and were promptly called back by another waitress because there was a reservation there. Of course that's not a problem, but it was really nowhere to be seen (and apart from that, these seats weren't occupied the entire time). If a station has to be “closed” due to a lack of staff, then everyone would understand. So it was just uncomfortable. So we sat down and waited quite a long time for the menu. When we were finally able to order, it happened to be another birthday on our part, there were short congratulations and then she disappeared again. The food was incredibly tasty, but there was no sign of service here either. Later we asked again for the menu so that we could order dessert and drinks if necessary, but that never happened. We got tickets, but again no service. After 15 minutes of waiting, we didn't want to go anymore, paid and left. During this time, our waitress was sitting at a table with someone and chiming happily. We really didn't like that. I don't expect any big birthday surprises when I go to a restaurant, but I do hope that people wish me a nice rest of the celebration or something similar. A little attention in the form of words. That was completely out of place here. If the food hadn't been so good, we wouldn't come back, but we'll try it again, but we'll make sure that we get different service.

We went to Advent brunch today. Unfortunately there was nothing Christmassy there, neither table decorations nor Christmas music or anything like that. Nothing there! The food was loveless and unfortunately tasteless, and there was nothing Christmassy about it! Frozen vegetables, mashed potatoes, dried-out vegetable lasagna, dry smoked pork with sauerkraut. No sign of duck or goose with red cabbage and dumplings. It was child-friendly, if you like screaming children running around, you're in good hands! We are very disappointed and really can't recommend it!! For just under €25 per person, it's a disgrace! ....Drinks exclusive of course!

Brunch in Q21 I went to Q21 for brunch with friends. The dishes on offer are varied and include breakfast and lunch, just a classic brunch. Basically, the food on offer is of moderate quality. The vegetable lasagna was not very seasoned and I had the impression that it came from the steamer. The chicken with mushrooms was tough and the meat was cut into really big chunks. The sauce seemed like it came from a “bag”. The rolls were more sticky than crispy etc. I think that less would be more and then there would be the opportunity to improve the quality of the food. Alternatively, you could possibly increase the price of the fraction. The location itself is really cool, but it is incredibly loud there! High ceilings, bare walls and lots of glass ensure that the restaurant is extremely reverberant. Unfortunately, once again no one thought about acoustically calming the ceiling with simple measures. It was difficult and tiring to talk to the person I was talking to. Too bad. The service was great. The lady in charge of our table was cheerful and friendly, always present and really quick!

Wir waren heute zum Adventsbrunch. Weihnachtlich war da leider gar nichts, weder Tischdeko noch Weihnachtsmusik o.ä.. Nichts vorhanden! Das Essen war lieblos und leider auch geschmackslos, weihnachtlich war da auch gar nichts! Tiefkühlgemüse, Kartoffelpampe, vertrocknete Gemüselasagne, trockener Kasseler mit Sauerkraut. Von Ente und Gans mit Rotkohl und Klößen nichts zu sehen. Kinderfreundlich war es, wenn man kreischende, herumrennende Kinder mag, ist man gut aufgehoben! Wir sind sehr enttäuscht und können es wirklich nicht empfehlen!! Für knapp € 25 pro Person eine Frechheit! ....Getränke natürlich exklusive!

Das, was als "Großes Frühstücksbuffet" angekündigt wurde, war eigentlich ein Mini-Buffet mit 3-4 Sorten Aufschnitt, 3-4 Sorten Käse, Frischkäse, Marmelade, Nutella, etwas Gemüse, Rührei, Würstchen und Speck. So 08:15, dass es kaum mehr geht. Für so einen großen Laden eher peinlich und extrem langweilig. Das Schlimmste waren aber Toiletten - auf der Damentoilette 5-6 Kabinen und in keiner einzigen Kabine gab es Toilettenpapier. Es gibt definitiv zig bessere Orte zum Frühstücken.
