Ciao Bella Winterhuder Fährhaus in Hamburg

We weren't able to get seated at our reserved table (5:45 p.m.) until 20 minutes later. We weren't offered a menu or drinks while we waited. Our appetizer (bruschetta) arrived 50 minutes after we ordered, upon request. The Melanzane pizza was okay, but it had an unnecessary amount of cheese. Two of our requested desserts weren't available. The dessert also arrived after we asked for it. When I mentioned the timing when paying, I was told not to come between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. The service was friendly: the young woman was great, the guy with the manbun on top (he tried to flirt with us - no go!).

The salad for 16.90 was a small portion without bread and the spaghetti was OK, but the portion was quite small.

A very nice, uncomplicated Italian restaurant. Very attentive and quick service. Despite the size of the restaurant, we had a very quiet seating area.

Everything was perfect, from the friendly staff to the delicious food. Reasonably priced. We'll be back. Thank you.

The most pathetic service in Winterhude – Ciao Bella, ciao! Anyone expecting a charming Italian evening at Ciao Bella Winterhude will instead get a cold shower – both in terms of the human touch and the atmosphere. Upon arrival, you're not greeted, but dismissed. The icing on the cake? An employee felt she had to uncharmingly call me "old." Is that even possible? As much tact as a wet rag. When I wanted to buy the table next to me a drink out of pure hospitality – a nice gesture among Hamburg residents – the waitress simply responded with a condescending: "Aren't you married?" Excuse me? Since when is it rude to be friendly? That wasn't a question, it was an accusation – and a blatant overstepping of boundaries. It's nobody's business, and certainly not the service. The human quality of the staff: minus. No sense of manners, atmosphere, or decency. You don't feel like a guest, but like a nuisance. The food? Secondary. Even a perfect carpaccio couldn't save this attitude. The place obviously thrives on people strolling in by chance – once you've been there, you're guaranteed not to come back. The bottom line: If you don't mind being treated rudely, this is the place for you. For everyone else: Once and never again.

We waited an hour for a salad starter in a restaurant that was sparsely attended. The service was annoyed and borderline rude. We then canceled the main course. I understand that the service doesn't deserve to be annoyed by the slow food. But when the slow food is compounded by a terribly annoyed service, I ask myself, as a guest, why I should put up with it. We observed similar scenes at three tables in the area. There are other restaurants in the area!

Terrible service, the waiting time is excessive and don't bother with it

The pizza (pollo con pesto) tasted good, but unfortunately, it took a very long time for the food to arrive. The service varied from staff to staff. Initially very friendly (****-), then became rather irritable with the shift change (**---).

Unfortunately, when the show ended, there was no way to get a drink or snack. I assume that the lack of staff is the cause here as well. It's a real shame.

When we entered the dining room, four tables hadn't been cleared, leaving the dishes and glasses of previous guests lying around. We sat down at a free table, and the waiter then cleared the table next to us. An empty water bottle was left until the end, and the table wasn't wiped down. Sorry, these are basic restaurant practices, and with today's prices, I expect something different. The service was extremely friendly, but good service requires a little more. Besides, it wasn't busy at the time of our visit!

We celebrated after our wedding at Ciao Bella and were completely satisfied. The service was friendly and attentive, and the communication beforehand was very pleasant. The food was delicious and plentiful, and special requests were easily accommodated. Even the cake we brought with us was served without any complications by the team. A lovely atmosphere and a perfect conclusion to our special day.

The food was very bland. The tomato sauce was hardly seasoned and the spaghetti wasn't al dente either. Service wasn't present either and the glasses weren't really clean.

You will always be warmly welcomed by a young and friendly team! Great terrace. Delicious dishes. Great team! And if you're lucky, you'll also meet one or two celebrities who are currently playing in the comedy at the Winterhuder Fährhaus. We always like it and really enjoy going there! Unfortunately a disaster! We wanted to go to the theater and had reserved a table for 6 p.m. The play was scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. We ordered food at 6:08 p.m.: a salami, caprese and vitello pizza. At 7 p.m. we had to cancel the food and bought a sausage and bread at the theater. If you run a delivery service for a restaurant and only have one person in the kitchen, your personnel planning should be reconsidered. The guests at the next table didn't find the food particularly tasty...

We were greeted with a warm smile as soon as we entered, and the team's hospitality continued throughout the entire evening. The service was attentive, friendly, and always there without being intrusive – exactly what you'd want. The food was simply a dream! Every dish was prepared with attention to detail, perfectly balanced in flavor, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere also completely won me over. The selection of pasta, pizza and antipasti is varied and fresh. The service was very friendly and attentive, so we immediately felt at home. Despite the restaurant being busy, the food came quickly and was beautifully presented. The price-performance ratio was also great! If you're looking for good Italian food in a cozy atmosphere, this is the place for you. I'd love to come back!

We went here spontaneously last weekend, the pizza was very tasty, the dough was nice and fluffy but crispy. The pasta is creamy, really good. The friendly service rounded off the evening perfectly. We really had fun. Thank you very much, we'll be back :)

A very good enrichment before going to the theater. Good and perfect service, quick dishes, everything on time and “to the minute”. Food was tasty prepared. Reservations are advisable as it is very busy before going to the theater. All in all: recommended.

Completely empty and the waiter tells you that you have to make a reservation. Then he left (he expected a big thank you from us) and it remained half empty. Food took a long time and wasn't typically Italian and wasn't particularly good. Other service is very nice and you sit there very nicely. But we won't be coming back. He probably doesn't need it either, only theater guests go there. Regulars probably don't need them.

My husband loved Spaghetti Salisiccia There was less sausage and the portion had shrunk despite the price increase We're thinking about looking for another restaurant after our next trip to the theater. We don't support nonsense Therefore one point deducted. There is now this great Italian restaurant right next to the Winterhuder Fährhaus. A cozy location, nice staff, good food, reasonable prices. It is a good idea to start and end the theater evening here. In summer you can sit outside

Essen und Service waren gut. Nur beim bezahlen müssen sie noch üben. Wer sich zuletzt meldet kommt zuerst dran. Es ist bekannt, die Besucher wollen in der Regel anschließend ins Theater. Es war trotzdem ein netter Abend. Wir kommen wieder.

I had previously eaten pizza slices at the other Chia Bella branches and really loved it. When I saw that there was also a real restaurant, I went to this branch in the hope of an equally great pizza - this time as a whole. To my surprise, however, the pizza was neither in taste nor in appearance like in the other branches. But the pesto spaghetti had a good and acceptable taste, and the staff was very friendly and polite.

Will never order there again. I'm used to the Ciao Bella chain but the food was terribly bad. Wrong food (actually had penne special, it came with penne with tomato sauce and traces of chicken), cold lasagne.

Due to the lack of service, people also arrived after about 20 minutes. Waiting gone again. Overall, in my opinion, a lot of improvement is needed. The pizza in particular was very bland and lacked the stone oven taste... The Italian lemonade I ordered was disappointing... a glass full of ice with syrup at the bottom and water...

My wife and I went to this restaurant for the first time today. It took a while for the nice waitress to come to us, but she also served all by herself, both in the restaurant and outside, which is very strange for such a big restaurant. We observed that several guests left the restaurant because they had to wait so long. Unfortunately the food was very bad. My wife's pizza was completely black and burnt on the bottom and I had to send it back. Unfortunately my pizza wasn't fresh at all, it was quite clear that this pizza was just warmed up. The ambience in the restaurant looks nice, but the outdoor seating looked even more unkempt and uncomfortable. It is quite obvious that the owners of this restaurant have no idea about gastronomy. No matter how nice the service is, the quality of this restaurant is very poor.

There were four of us there at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, a third of the guests were there... so not much was going on. It took 15 minutes for the first starters and drinks to be ordered, then the main courses arrived after a good hour. Penne special, gnocci and salad were delicious, bolo served carelessly and with perhaps a teaspoon of mince. Some starter plates were not cleared and no waitress came to ask if everything was ok. It was also not possible to reorder drinks. Complaints about incorrect or non-existent ingredients could also be heard at the table next to you. If the shop is full before going to the theater, you have to work quickly hand in hand and say in advance which drinks and dishes " “out”. Unfortunately no tip was given this time.

The restaurant is conveniently located right next to the Winterhuder Fährhaus and is ideal for a nice meal before a visit to the theater. The food is a bit too expensive for me, but the quality is good and the atmosphere there is good. You could sit outside or inside. When it got busy we had trouble getting a waiter to pay, but that may have been a daytime problem.

Were there to eat at the Winterhuder Kai and saw that the location has completely changed, for the better. They were super nice, helpful and tolerant. We were there so late during the week...others have the kitchen closed. The pizzas were really good! 🫶🏼😍🫶🏼
