PUM korean restaurant in Berlin

I've been here with a friend a few days ago, the food was delicious even for my non-used-to-spiciness mediterranean palate. If you want a true delve into korean kitchen this is a must go. The atmosphere, the food and the service were a 5/5. The staff took the time to explain us the menu, dispense recommendations and check on us (me *cough cough*) when I seemed to be struggling with the chili side effects, coming to my rescue with a glass of water. Very appreciated! Thank you for being patient and friendly trough the whole dinner! The selection of banchan (side dishes) was wide and tasty, not just the 3-usual-things, and after serving it we were explained what everything was, which was a lovely and caring extra touch. As mains we had gamjatang (pork bone soup), delicious and a bit spicy (there's a lot of pepper!), and gwi-jjim (monkfish stew), also delicious and super spicy. I had a glass of Makgeolli (korean wine), so nice and very recommended if you're not that tolerant to spiciness, it really helps tons with it! My friend had a Pflaumen Ade, which I'd describe as a sort of fruit punch/lemonade, also tasty. The food servings were abundant, and the pricing also quite fair, not at all high considering the ingredients quality and variety, and the general incredible attention to details! Overall I loved the experience and I highly recommend it! I'll definitely be back :)

It's the best Korean restaurant. I was able to eat Sundae Gukbap or Bone Haejangguk, which I had never expected even in my dreams. It's not just roughly made, it's of the highest quality. The side dishes are also side dishes that can only be eaten at home, such as dried radish and garlic cloves. I highly recommend it

As a Korean, I can confidently say that the food here is truly authentic. The owner and staff were very friendly and attentive. I appreciated the unique dishes that can't be easily found at other Korean restaurants in Berlin.

We visited Pum to try “Mul-naengmyun” which unfortunately was not available that Sunday even though it was on the online menu. We were also informed that this dish is generally not offered during the week? We were not impressed by the ambience or the selection of food - the menu was quite small and many of the dishes listed online were not available. The prices were also relatively high, so we finally decided to leave the restaurant.

The restaurant is nowhere near as good as it is portrayed to be. The paper menu was worn out, the selection of dishes was very small and the prices were way too high. I definitely won't be coming back.

The starters didn't come. 30 minutes passed. Then they said only the starters would come in 10-15 minutes. They didn't come for 20 minutes. In the meantime, only the overpriced drinks arrived. Then it was said that you couldn't bring any more starters and main courses. We paid for the overpriced drinks and left, permanently, never to return. To break the habit...

One of the worst experiences in Berlin. I never got to eat the food because they had some birthday party at the same time and were apparently overwhelmed. So, after asking several times when at least the kimchi will be ready, and after getting the same response of 10-15 minutes, the waiter again came to tell me they won't be able to make it. So, I just paid for the overpriced drinks and left. If you're hungry don't come here.

My favorite Korean restaurant in Berlin. Super authentic, the banchan are wonderful and diverse. The dishes are made with great attention to detail and always have that certain something

Heard lots of good things about PUM and can safely say the quality of the food absolutely lives up to expectations! Haven't had better kimchijeon or mandu in Berlin, and the cold noodle dishes we tried were both delicious! Also had a great chat with the waitress despite my mediocre Korean, but she seemed super interested and was a pleasure to talk to! I will say the prices are a tad higher than your average Korean place, but I do genuinely think that reflects in the food quality, definitely some of the best Korean food you'll find in Berlin.

The food was super super good and we loved it. We ordered bulgogi, cold noodles and a stew, all turned out great and look super pretty too. However, the girl who served us was almost rude. I’m not sure if she likes her job - when we asked her for some help with the menu, she was impatient and told us to Google it ourselves, and when we asked whether they have some very very common dish (japchae) she impatiently said no (sorry for asking!). When she served us the dishes, she almost throw the plates and bowls on our table, that was very uncomfortable. But then a moment later she was laughing with another table of customers (who are white, and we are Asians). It is a little uncomfortable and we didn’t really want to be served by her. On the contrary, the other guy who served us, sat down and explained the menu and took our orders, and he was kind and funny and a great service! He was also super patient to another table of guests who seems has little knowledge about Korean food and had a lot of requirements. I really liked the food and the guy who served us, but I think the girl could use some manners :)

Eating at PUM really feels like you’ve stepped into a nice restaurant in Korea. Everything is so carefully prepared and delicious. You can really tell that the owners are doing this out of passion rather than to simply make money. I’d highly recommend the beef tartare bibimbap.

A review I paid for with my own money I've been to a lot of Korean restaurants in various cities abroad. I’m leaving a review because this place is absolutely the best! Cooking Korean food takes a lot of work and time, but this is truly authentic Korean food. (It’s not fusion cuisine! It’s the real taste of Korea!) There was a review that said the food took a long time to come out. Actually, I didn't really have to wait long for my food. If you want to go to a restaurant that serves food faster, go to McDonald's and eat fast food. If you want to taste the real local Korean food in Korea, eat here! I plan to try each food menu one by one from now on.

Very authentic menu. Loved the cold soups options, and will definitely recommend the vegetarian bulgogi, so tasty. Service was really sweet and funny., made us want to come back soon ! Prices on the main dishes are not so casual but it's definitely worth it for a treat.

Pyongyang Nangmyeon was absolutely delicious but they’re still figuring out service. We made a reservation but there was no table available when we got there and then orders arrived 30 minutes apart and two of the six things we ordered were incorrect.

I recently went to PUM restaurant and have to say it was a disappointing experience. The restaurant is poorly organized and doesn't seem to place any value on honoring reservations. Despite making a reservation in advance, we had to wait a long time for a table, which ended up not even being the reserved table. The service is extremely slow. It took ages to even get the menu and even longer to get our order taken. Unfortunately, parts of our order were completely forgotten, so we had to wait again. The food itself was average but way too expensive considering the prices. The portion sizes were small and the quality in no way justified the high price. All in all, it was a very disappointing experience and I certainly won't eat there again.

Extremely expensive restaurant for a food that is more than average. There are way better bibimbaps in Berlin for way cheaper. The atmosphere is also very rundown.

It's about 40 minutes away from the Berlin city center, but thanks to the chef's philosophy on Korean food, you can enjoy neat gamjatang, water parsley pancakes, and Pyongyang cold noodles. In particular, Gamjatang is served in an earthen pot for one serving and in a pot for two servings, so I recommend ordering it in two portions and boiling it according to your taste. Water parsley pancake is fragrant and fresh, but it seems to be a spring/summer limited menu item. If you want to eat authentic Korean food, I recommend taking a trip and enjoying this place. Cravings satisfied! Worth the 2 hour flight journey 😆

How all these good reviews come about is a mystery to me. One word: inedible.

A Korean jewel in Berlin. Service, atmosphere and food are top notch and up to Asian standards. They made dish by dish with a lot of care and you can notice it, so be patient on delivering the food to the table, it’s worth it!. We went for bibimbaps, with marinated beef and the other with beef tartar. They are done in different way, without the hot stone but the taste and cooking of the ingredients are very, very good, specially the tartare. We tried also the pork belly and the squid menus and they didn’t disappoint also, very tasty and lots of care presenting the side dishes. Overall a great experience, with moderated prices and a great service. Bravo!

The most authentic Korean restaurant in Berlin. I have never had better Korean food anywhere. The opening times are generous, which allows us to eat there in the evening with our small child. We once ordered a portion of Gamjatang (감자탕) to take away, and the quantity was definitely more than enough for two people. Today we ordered Kongguksu (콩국수) and Sundaeguk (순대국), and both were delicious. Unfortunately, since we live too far away from the restaurant, we can't go there too often. But we would love to go back. The price is absolutely fair.

I had the sizzling pork which was delicious. The bean meat is also really good as a vegetarian option. The service is also nice.

As a Korean cuisine aficionado, I've had the opportunity to try delicious bibimbaps in the past, but this stands out as one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. Its colorful presentation and exquisite flavors rival those of French gourmet restaurants. I highly recommend this dining experience as I enjoyed it from start to finish.

A meal in the PUM restaurant is something special. Every Korean will agree. The boss prepares authentic dishes such as 감자탕 (pork back soup) 간장게장 (soy sauce marinated crabs) and much more with a lot of love. You can't find the dishes anywhere else. You can never compare PUM with other restaurants that only serve simple grilled meat or stew like kimchi jjigae. It would be an insult. PUM is really something special. Definitely the best Korean restaurant. I can't understand why some reviews mentioned the portion as small. I couldn't even finish! 😅 Portion is huge!!

We ate here last night and I can highly recommend the restaurant! The food was very tasty and authentic, we had Korean Pancake, the Beef Tartare Bibimbap and the Fried Squid as starters. Both were very full at the end, we would love to come back!

PUM is one of the best authentic Korean restaurant in Berlin! I've been here more than I can count and the only reason I havent been more often is that I live far away. Hands down best korean food in Berlin! So authentic and the service is so above average!

I loved the beef bulgoggi so much that I didn't even bother trying the other dishes, only the starters, which were quite spicy, thankfully not all of them. The waiter spoke perfect English, which we all loved.

Had a great meal here 2 days ago. Picked by chance to take my old mother out for "something different". Very charming and helpful waiter who helped us pick delicious food. Overall ambience very basic and unassuming, which we liked slot but might put someone if looking for fancy night out. All dishes where superb. Loved the porkrib with mustard kimchi, monkfish soup, spicy squid rings... Will definitely be back.

Best Korean dishes we had in Berlin! Not cheap but it is worth it. Aside its great taste, they serve more different Korean dishes such as Banchan (main dish plus small plates), which is one of my favourite. I had squid which was cooked so soft and tasty. Their volume is smaller but I know the volume comes second to the quality. Friendly staff as well Both my partner and I really enjoyed the meal and love to go back. Price of Bibimbap is 15-18 euros. We had 2 starters and 2 mains. So for two person, it was about 50-60 euros. But like others said here, it is worth it. It is in Charlottenburg and we found nice cafés, ice cream stands and shops in the restaurant's residential neighbourhood. On your way to/from visiting museums, it would be a good visit to the restaurant. : )

Gamjatang is a food that requires a lot of effort and is difficult to eat in foreign countries, but it was generous and made me feel really satisfied! This is already my third visit. They are always friendly and the food tastes better than most restaurants in Korea. I highly recommend it.

오늘 낮에 예약없이 방문했는데도 너무 친절하게 맞이해주셨고 스페셜 메뉴라고 메뉴판에도 없는 꽃게탕 추천해주셔서 먹었는데 너무 맛있게 잘 먹었어요!! 양도 두명이서 먹었는데 많았고 추가로 공기밥도 서비스로 주셔서 감사합니다. 베를린에서 유학생활 하는데 오랜만에 한국에서 부모님이랑 같이 먹던 밥 맛이 생각나서 울컥했네요.ㅎㅎ 다음에도 또 방문할게요~! 감사합니다.

Tasty food and nice atmosphere however you will mostly not find traditional Korean dishes. More of a ”fine dining” experience, dishes are also served in a different manner than in restaurants in Korea or other places in Berlin. Many vegetarian options which would be normally unusual in more traditional Korean places. Worth a visit if you are looking for a modern take on Korean flavours and ingredients =) Friendly staff!

Authentisch koreanische Küche. Nichts für den großen Hunger. Abgelenkt Kellner aber freundlich und bemüht. Gute Lebensmittel schön angerichtet und nicht ganz preiswert. Sehr einfache Einrichtung im sehr kühlen Raum. Insgesammt eher nicht mein Fall.

Great restaurant. Finally a spot that doesn’t just sell Korean Fried Chicken and Tteokboki, but focuses on Korean dishes that are not that known to the locals in Berlin. Kimchi pancake was a tick too crispy, but so far it was one of the best I had so far in Berlin. The beef tartare bibimbap was really nice, but again, I would have much more preferred having plain beef tartare. The gamjatang was very nice, however, some pieces of the pork were slightly overcooked. Overall, having spent some time in Korea, this was a place that took us back. Really looking forward to try more food there.

A recommending Korean restaurant in Berlin! Truly authentic food and good quality (the Korean chef was already a professional cook in Korea), not Europeanized. Kind staffs serve you real Korean atmosphere. But the restaurant is cold and we had to drink a lot of tea. My family liked Yuza Tea (citron honey) and ginger tea. One thing you should know about the cold noodle they have, it’s origin is North Korea and it’s famous for “non-tasting”, it doesn’t taste much and you can finally enjoy it when you’re used to it. I highly recommend KimchiJeon (pancake) and it’s not really spicy.

Gibt meiner Ansicht nach kein Gericht, was nicht nicht schmeckt. Dazu noch das beste Kimchi in Berlin! Der Jujube Tee ist großartig. Sehr zu empfehlen.

I’ve heard so much about PUM anf it didn’t disappoint. The food here was exceptional. They put so much thoughts and care into every dish. My two favorites were the marinated raw shrimps and raw beef bibimbap. The shrimps were fresh and packed with flavors. I could eat a lot more of these. The beef tartare was also fresh. Everything in the dish worked so well together and the presentation was super gorgeous. They also offer raw marinated crab but you need to order at least one day ahead. Next time I won’t miss it. There aren’t many staff working at the restaurant so please be patient. The food is more than worth it. The price isn’t the cheapest but I’m more than happy to pay for the quality they offer. Highly highly recommend!

The best. You can taste of passion and love of food from the chef. She is the best. She makes everything herself with natural ingredients. From fishsauce to gimchi… everything. Except dumpings… I support her art/passion of korean food!

Authentisches koreanisches Essen. Hervorragend!

LOVE this place, it’s now among my top 3 favorite korean restaurants in Berlin. The serving sizes are good & the flavors are just amazeballs. I love how the food we had were perfectly seasoned & the owner didn’t judge me even after I went full cave person on the bones in my gamjatang. Owner was very supportive, even offered extra table napkins. The banchan selection is outstanding.

Authentic Korean food - approved by Korean. Very nice food and kind host, I would recommend very much. Indoor and outdoor seats, surrounding area is also nice to take a walk. Slightly limited menu for vegetarian, good with children. Nice variation of Korean drinks and tee. One of the must - visit restaurant in Berlin.

One of the best places to eat authentic korean food in Berlin. They also cater the Korean embassy and that says it all! Super kind service, phenomenal Kimchi (also a vegan version) is available in selected asia stores throughout the city. My #1 choice for korean food 💜

베를린여행중 너무먹고싶어 찾아간 한식집 육회비빕밥을 베를린서 이렇게 맛있게 먹을거라고 생각도 못했네요. 입짧은 우리아들의 입맛을 사로잡은 제육볶음과 한국의식당보다 국물이 진하고 고소한콩국수 진짜 강추입니다 비쥬얼1등 맛1등 육회비빕밥 진짜 강추입니다 2주간 독일여행으로 힘들어있던 우리아들 대만족하고 가네여 베를린 오시면 꼭 들려보세여^^모든메뉴 강추입니다

Ordered their special menu (cold noodles) tastes somehow better than the other Korean restaurants that also serve cold noodles but it's quite expensive in terms of price however, their Plum Tea is the best!

Holla, hier kann man sich definitiv auf ganz neu Geschmäcker freuen. Tolle Idee mit dem Extrateller auf dem diverse kleine Beilagenportionen zu finden sind. Ein Geschmack den man nicht an jeder Ecke bekommt.

Perfekt! Wir hatten Bohnenfleisch und mariniertes Rindfleisch.

Nach langer Zeit war ich wieder hier und bereue es nicht öfter gekommen zu sein. Die Chefin und die Mitarbeiter sind sehr sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Das Essen schmeckt hier echt lecker und sehr authentisch ! Die Gerichte sind etwas teurer als üblich aber abgesehen von der Location und der Inflation und der großen Portionen der Hauptspeisen ist das Essen mit so so sooo viel Liebe zubereitet und es sieht auch richtig ansprechend aus !! Ich habe mir hier auch die Bewertung der anderen geschaut und die von Harley F hat mich echt sehr gerührt 🥺 Ich werd auf jedenfalls nochmal zurück kommen und das Bibimbab probieren, das sieht echt wahnsinnig schön und lecker aus.

Das PUM ist ein recht einfach eingerichtetes koreanisches Restaurant mit einer übersichtlichen Karte, im positiven Sinne. Man kann sicher sein, dass die Gerichte und Zutaten immer frisch sind. Die Gerichte sind lecker und authentisch zubereitet. Das PUM differenziert sich von anderen koreanischen Restaurants in Berlin in dem es „Bansang“ anbietet. Man kann isch das ein wenig wie ein Set-Menu vorstellen; ein Hauptgericht wird mit Reis, einer Suppe und verschiedenen Beilagen serviert. Die Portionen sind für jemanden mit großem Hunger vielleicht etwas klein aber geschmacklich ist alles wunderbar.

Ausgezeichnetes Essen. Extrem authentisch, alles wurde hervorragend zubereitet, der Service war aufmerksam und freundlich und alles in allem die beste koreanische Küche, die ich bisher in Berlin bekommen habe.

Kein Schnickschnack, dafür super leckeres koreanisches Essen zu vernünftigen Preisen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit beim Erklären der Speisekarte. Wirklich empfehlenswert !

육회 비빔밥은 정말 한국 그 어느 맛집보다 더 맛있었습니다!!

I was introduced to Korean food by my Korean partner - we relocated from Australia to Sweden 3 months ago and were disappointed with most Asian food here, little did we know that the greatest Korean food outside of Korea is in Berlin - we found this on a list and had to visit when we took a four day trip last week. For starters, we slipped through some changes to the booking system and made a lunch booking that they no longer offered - instead of cancelling on us, they opened the restaurant just for the two of us. We had ‘Pork Bone Soup’ and ‘Beef Bibimbap’ (my translations) - the Bibimbap was the most beautiful salad I’d ever seen in my life and it tasted fantastic. The Pork Bone Soup looked Korean, by that, I mean it looked real and as if I’d just sat down somewhere in Korea - I couldn’t get enough of the broth. We were also served with a range of kimchis. The owner cares for her food and her service and she straightens your tableware like she is your mother making a fuss over things being perfect. We also purchased takeaway tubs of the kimchi. This was special for us, it was just what we needed - it couldn’t have been better. I hope for everyone to try PUM and become acquainted with one of the most interesting cuisines in the world.

감자탕 완전 맛있었어요!!!! 김치전도 바삭해서 완전 제 취향이네요~ 아구찜이랑 닭갈비는 먹어보진 못했지만 친구들이 잘 먹는 것 같았어요 그치만 가격은 너무 비싸요…. 메뉴판마다 가격이 달라서 헷갈리는게 불편하긴 했지만 그래도 맛은 있습니다 반찬도 깔끔하게 나오고 채식음식 표시 되어 있어서 친구 음식 고를 때 참고할 수 있어서 좋았어요 담에 감자탕 생각나면 다시 가볼 의향은 있습니다

김치전, 감자탕, 꼬막비빔밥 그리고 아구찜까지 먹었는데 모든 음식이 다 맛있었어요! 감자탕은 특히 정말 진짜 맛있었습니다.... 상시 있는 메뉴가 아니라는게 아쉬워요 ㅠㅠ 직원분들도 친절하세요. 베를린에서 단연코 제일 한국의 맛에 가까운 곳입니다.
