Pulcinella in München

We called to ask for special dish, they said they will do it and when we arrived they said no. We order pasta and pizza and waited too long for the dishes (rest was almost empty) and the pasta had no much flavour or tastiness.

Waiting an hour for a pizza, then a calzone and the pasta came even later…. These are not dishes that have to take that long - with the dining room half empty. It's a shame... with two children waiting over an hour for food? Unfortunately not anymore.

Drove here from Rosenheim for the first time on the recommendation of a business partner. It was really worth it! Nice ambience, well-trained, polite staff and the boss recommended a four-course menu, surprise menu, which once again exceeded our already high expectations. Unfortunately there are only 5 stars...

It was nice, but not great. There are better Italian restaurants. I ate pasta that was okay, but not that good. What bothered me personally were the tablecloths, which were all stained. I didn't like that at all.

We got to the restaurant 30 minutes before they closed but the staff were still friendly and helpful. We took the pizza to go because we didn’t want to make the staff stay longer. The pizza was great! Delicious even when it was cold because we walked back to our hotel. The place is cozy, clean, nice music and the staff is very welcoming. If you want a break from the German food this is a great option!. The Prosecco was pretty good. Now I want to visit Italy because they were speaking Italian and made the experience even more authentic. I loved the energy of the place and its people.

We have been in Europe for a week, and this is the best meal we've had, and honestly one of the best meals we've ever had at a restaurant. Everything was exceptionally delicious!

Atmosphere, service, friendliness... TOP

Attention, stay away from this restaurant! The food is tasteless to inedible. 2 out of 4 of our group had a bad stomach upset after visiting the restaurant. In addition, one waiter seems to be too careful to write down orders. The result is that a majority of orders are served incorrectly (see also other reviews). How the overall rating on Google is still relatively good is anyone's guess... ;)

We have been to Pulcinella several times. The food was very good again today... although the octopus starter was a bit dry. But again very good with olive oil. The combination with pistachios was very successful. Unfortunately, the service this evening was more than poor. Not very attentive, inappropriately flippant comments... everything more for show than attention. The highlight: when we ask for the bill, the waitress comes and shouts the sum across the tables :-( Both the inviting person and the person being invited feel extremely uncomfortable. The invoice is only available upon request. The waiter says everything is fine. ... I don't.

Last night, greeted by an unfriendly and visibly overwhelmed waiter, "Pick a table". After the 3 of us (I had reserved) had sat down, he hissed at us "that exact table is reserved for 5 other people"... Of course we stayed seated. Menu came quickly, drinks too (incomplete). Order was taken, starters (2 x beef carpaccio and tomato burrata) delivered quickly, good quality. While we were eating the starters, 2 warm main courses arrived (one of which was wrong) which of course we didn't accept because we were still in the middle of the starter. The service, which was completely overwhelmed, was not enthusiastic. Later, the obviously warmed-up truffle pizza with ham & rocket (€22.50) was delivered, dripping with fat and far too thickly topped - hard to eat, as well as the really good penne arrabiata. I was asked for my main course (Gamberi alla Griglia) several times, I was put off just as often, but the food was still not delivered. In the meantime, in addition to the already very bad air, there was also more smoke coming from the kitchen. After my family had finished their main course and I had waited about 30 minutes for the Gamberi, I lost my appetite. I had to order the invoice twice. Then came the Gamberi, which I rejected, but of course they were still on the first bill, coincidence? The second calculation then worked out. Conclusion: as we know, the fish stinks from the head, the staff was partly incompetent, partly listless but also not properly instructed and not coordinated with one another. In my opinion, a boss with an overview is missing here. No matter, it's clear to us that this was the last time Pulcinella. Never again.

Great little Italian local. Well priced, incredible flavour and amazing service. We got take away and enjoyed a lovely glass of red while we waited.

Avoid this restaurant as they will up-charge you unscrupulously. They are not transparent about wine prices when ordering ... and will offer a "better" wine at a "great price" in place of what we asked for, but when we asked for the price, we were told that it was priced similarly. When the bill arrived the price of that bottle was more than twice than the bottle we had ordered. Similarly, there was a 35 euro service charge for a party of four on the bill. The food was good and the service was attentive but the waiter was dismissive of our wishes and brusque at times. We left feeling that we were fleeced. Not the experience a restaurant should strive for. In a market of hundreds of restaurants, AVOID this one.

The wait person was deceitful. We ordered a bottle of wine for €35 and he brought in a different bottle stating it was better and charged us €75. This was against what we wished. They charged €35 for service without our permission. Food was mediocre. Felt like I was totally ripped off. Don’t go here.

Thank you very much. It was like "in Italy" even though I've never been there before! lively talking. Courtesy to the guest and well-being were important. A nice, casual conversation with the owner. From personal experience it was an ordinary Italian restaurant. The food was served even before it was cooked, but the white people were warm and friendly. Regarding the restaurant where racial discrimination still exists at this time, I just want to express your attitude. I don't even want to give 10 cents for it.

Pizza is great, place and decoration are gorgeous, but service was little bit slow… Recommended although!

Everything was acceptable and ok, although we expected a bit more quality service and food. The worst part of our evening is that we did not get real truffles. We ordered the carpaccio di manzo with truffles but the dish had no whatsoever taste of truffles. Quite disappointing since it was quite expensive. Pizza was good, but nothing extraordinary.

Edit: I went there again today (8/31/24) after a break to get pizza and it was definitely the best pizza I've ever eaten in Munich. Apparently the current pizza maker is even better than his predecessor, who also made good pizzas. Big compliment and thank you for this culinary delight! A nice restaurant with an authentic flair, good food and reasonable prices. First of all, we were there as a larger group and felt like we were on vacation in Italy in the best possible sense. The only small point of criticism was that we were served later than the neighboring tables, even though they had arrived after us. On another evening we ordered pizzas to pick up and were pleased with the quality as well as the speed and the good price/performance ratio. It's very nice to have such a nice restaurant in the neighborhood! :-)

The only thing, that the cashier made an issue to pay with card after midnight, and they didn’t inform us before.

Terrible Terrible Terrible. I waited over 2 hours for a simple pizza, and got up and left. I highly recommend not going here.

Wir hatten Pizza und Salat. Der Salat war frisch, knackig und sehr gut abgeschmeckt. Das Grill Gemüse auf der Pizza war der Hammer. Alles war wirklich super lecker!

Hervorragendes Mittagessen. Hatte eine klassische Bolognese..Nudeln waren schön aldente und die Bolognese ausgezeichnet. Haben ein Eis aufs Haus bekommen und einen Limoncello. Der Besitzer ist ein sehr geselliger und sympathischer Typ… insgesamt wirklich gut.

We didn't like it... the atmosphere of the place, the quality of the pizzas, the spritzes were good but nothing more (it lacked prosecco and sparkling). In short, the pizza does the job but we don't come away satisfied.

What a disappointing evening. We knew the previous restaurant Taverna Del Sud, great food, good service, good atmosphere. After a long time we went to the successor restaurant La Pulcinella for dinner and had hoped for a nice evening for two. It was a total flop. There was only one waiter for the not so small restaurant that evening, who didn't exactly shine with courtesy, even if he himself found his jokes very funny. It took at least 30 minutes for the drinks to be served, we waited a good hour for pizza and salad, and the restaurant wasn't really full. When we asked, we were told that they had a large number of sick people, that's just the way it is. When we asked, after the meal had taken so long, whether we could perhaps have some olives/bread, the waiter simply replied brusquely ‘We don't have any olives, I can bring bread’, he wouldn't have thought of it himself. There are too many nice Italian restaurants in Munich for us to go here again, and we certainly won't be going back.

I come from Ibiza to visit Munich for a couple of days after a walk on the English Garden, at a certain point I find myself in front of a restaurant in a beautiful area of ​​Munich, a gentleman called Franco invites me to a Prosecco and so I take when it came time to stop for lunch he was practically the only one looking at me and managed to understand my tastes! I am not sure how this place has such a high Google review score. Let's start with the food: the pizza has to be in the top three worst ones I have had... And as an Italian who spent half of her life living outside of Italy, I have had my fair share of bad pizza. But the other members of the top three at least had the excuse of being pizzas I consumed 20 years ago much further from Italy. Using industrial fake cheese when it's so easy and relatively inexpensive to get mozzarella is inexcusable. Now with the service. The place was seriously understaffed, in spite of being less than half full. What were they thinking? The waiters tried to be friendly, so two stars for that... But our party of three still had to wait almost an hour for our food, and when it got there one of the pizzas was the wrong one, so another 10 min or so until my husband could eat. No bread, bread sticks or anything of that kind. As for the atmosphere... Our table cloth had visible dirt on it (crumbs and ash and a few unidentified black marks). The TV was playing a YouTube playlist of the cheesiest Italian pop you can imagine. Enough said. In Italian we call an open secret a "pulcinella secret". The open secret about this place is that it's a really bad restaurant.

Unfortunately the service was very bad. At first no one took our order for about 20 minutes. This only happened upon request. We waited about an hour and a half for ours and had to order everything several times. In this respect, there was absolutely no friendliness, but you almost had the impression that you were being disturbed with your order. There was no normal bread with the carpaccio, but when we ordered bread we were first told that there was no bread at all and then after about 20 minutes when we had finished the starter we were brought a Pizza Pane Rosso, even though we had already had one before. The pizza dough is pre-made and comes ready-made from plastic bags. With the exception of the pizza pane, which was OK, the food was inedible. The pasta was cooked completely without salt. The filled pasta with ricotta and spinach (price around 16)) was pre-made from the supermarket and not homemade or at least of a better quality that you would expect at this price. They were completely tasteless. We know Italy and Italian food very well and are very surprised at the good reviews. The restaurant is absolutely not recommended and is a rip-off for the guests. This was also confirmed to us by a waiter who was here to help out for a few days. He confirmed that the staff is ashamed of the food. There was no apology or response from the owners to our complaint. Unfortunately everything is very unsympathetic!

AWFUL SERVICE The waiter forgot our order twice and we have to wait for one hour and twenty minutes in order to get our food delivered to our table. AND THEY DID NOT EVEN SAY SORRY!! Asked us twice about our order, first in 30' and then after one hour, and did not received even an apology. That's got us on our nerves. I'll never come back. Never. The food isnt very good so our time was wasted. Diavola with salame picante and peperoncino, but none of them were spicy!! Everything senseless and not worth it. Don't you dare to come here and waste your time and money.

I have been to this restaurant several times in the past and had good experience, but today we had the worst experience in a restaurant - Because of the Waitress! It is a young lady who can be identified with big full lips… she really ruined our night with her HORRIBLE attitude. - we went inside where 90% of the tables were free , we were five including a kid she gave us a small four person table next to the toilet. I asked to change to another table she agreed with reluctance and said okay but you need to bring over the cutlery by yourself , which we did. - we ordered three big drinks to start. She asked: “but you guys are four”. I said okay another big bottle of water. - we waited 45min until food finally came. We finished eating and needed to leave as soon as we could as it’s already late for the kid, so I went to tell her can we pay please? She got offended and said: “how can I know you want to pay ? You guys are still eating. “ as if it was my mistake to go tell her we need to pay and I should have waited on the table until she came… I still do not understand why she reacted that way by a simple request. - when she came to give our bill she appeared still angry said “how can I know you guys done eating? Look there is still food here” I said we need to leave now as we waited long time for food and the kid is tired we need to go home. She said: “but it is normal in a restaurant to wait for the food! “. I was Shocked to hear that. - I didn’t give her any tips which made her annoyed and kept challenging me as if I did wrong. I told her I’m not happy with the service today and I need to leave now and do not want to comment more. But she didn’t let things go and kept on arguing, talking out loud while we were leaving the restaurant. I do believe all the other waiters and staff working there know how she is and I could tell from their faces they were not surprised by her getting an unhappy customer. The food is alright but it’s such a SHAME we were treated this way by this waitress! Now I look into all the low star reviews here and I start to see BAD SERVICE is a common one, especially in last couple months, wonder if it’s due to the same waitress… I really recommend the owner to think twice keeping that lady with customer facing job! Her attitude is unacceptable!

Quick and somewhat easy. Hard to go outside the menu though if you are not a native German or Italian it felt like. We got the salad after the main course was served and they broke glass into it. Not a joke. I have no idea how at first takes 25min to make a pasta bolognese and then only 5min. Regardless, a bit of a fawlty towers without the malice. Asked if we wanted tiramisu after I had asked for the bill noting that we were leaving. Piece of trivia, pizza man was spinning his paddle on the floor, pizza side down. Other reviews rate it high and overall, knocking of a star for service for the mishaps. Overall, had a way worse here in Munich.

The food was amazing in both taste and presentation.

We were there yesterday and ate and enjoyed the tasting menu. Of course with a very good red house wine. We were greeted so warmly by the boss and served so lovingly by everyone. Uniquely great and we will definitely come back.

We ate here today with our two boys (6 & 11) and felt completely at home. Hospitality is very important here, an ambience like being on holiday in Italy, very warm, always courteous "waiters", and actually many rather genuine hosts. We felt very welcome, especially the children, the Parma is freshly sliced, you can watch the pizza maker, everything is 100% clean, including the wine glasses, and that. Most important: the food was excellent. Totally recommended!

Everything in itself would be excellent, but unfortunately the lasagna was definitely from the day before, as it was very, very dry and not at all fresh. The taste was certainly delicious on the day it was prepared, but unfortunately it was disappointing... service was excellent.

We were at Pulcinella for the second time today. The service was very stressful but still polite. There wasn't everything on the menu because the kitchen couldn't keep up. The pizzas were burning in the pizza oven and the smell of burning was so strong that our eyes and other guests' eyes really hurt and watered. The pizza was average and my tuna was good quality but fried to death (more like shoe sole). My request for a side dish didn't work out either, but the service visibly struggled with the overwhelming demands but always remained attentive and polite. In the end, the bill for the two of us was well over 100 euros and no card payment was allowed without prior notice. Not everyone has that much cash with them, how else would they have solved it? Despite the mediocre cuisine, it's worth remembering that the service always remained polite, even under stress. Unfortunately, service is only part of a good restaurant experience. At the end there was an apology, but even the coffee was charged. Well, rather high prices for mediocre food and polite service and an unacceptable ambience (stress and smoke everywhere), then probably not again. A pity!

The rooms are nice, even if it is loud. The bread was very tasty. The service was friendly and relatively quick. The soup was completely tasteless, the apple spritzer was cheap, the green salad was bland, the noodles were tolerable. The espresso was good. We probably won't come back.

Ordered spaghetti, salad and pizza. Spaghetti arrived after about 40 minutes, followed by the wrong salad. The spoon only came with the spaghetti when asked. Salad came after almost an hour and the pizza was completely missing. After we complained about the pizza, it came - but cold. No excuse - nothing! It's a shame, I used to enjoy being there. No more recommendation.

Unfortunately we are very disappointed with our stay at this restaurant today. We ordered the following: Pasta with prawns Pizza with Parma ham and rocket Tomato salad We had to wait 45 minutes for the food. Unfortunately only one dish came (the pasta). After it became clear that the pizza wouldn't come for a while, my daughter started eating. After another 15 minutes, the tomato salad arrived, which we had originally ordered as a starter. After my daughter finished eating her pasta, we finally had the opportunity to inquire about the whereabouts of the pizza, which still hadn't arrived at that point. We emphasized that it was a shame because we would have liked to eat the meal together and we had already been waiting an hour for the meal. There was no apology from the waiter. In our opinion, he had forgotten the court. He then asked us whether we wanted to take the pizza with us or eat here. After over an hour we have now received the pizza COLD. Rarely have I seen such loveless and poor service. Neither an apology nor any attempt at redress from the restaurant. Unfortunately extremely disappointed and not recommended.

Repeated very well. Price/performance absolutely appropriate. Standard and weekly menu has a good selection. It's nice to sit by the large windows inside. So far it's always been well attended when we've been there, so reservations are recommended, but as is usual in Italy, it sometimes worked without it.

Hospitality that you would want in an Italian restaurant. Even if the best waitress is from Cuba. Dear Anna, thank you very much for your great service. All the other staff were also very warm and obliging. The food was good and the prices corresponded to today's standards. We always enjoy coming back when we are in Munich.

The food was very tasty and there was a large selection of pizzas as well as other food. It was very quick and the staff was very friendly. You can also take pizzas with you.

We were here for the first time since the reopening and unfortunately a bit disappointed. Atmosphere nice like a simple Italian pub. Extremely hard-working, even though there were very few guests there. For the main course there was new cutlery that was so dirty, but the waiter didn't notice it. Salad with artichokes was good, but the fish was bland and still raw in the middle. We probably won't come back for a while.

Went there for lunch for the first time since it reopened. Former regulars... The dishes were all very tasty 😋 - the baby squid in the starter salad was nicely grilled, the pizza Diavola had a pleasant spiciness, the pizza base was nice and thin and crispy, the spaghetti aglio was plentiful, with finely roasted garlic and cherry tomatoes. Parmesan, salt, pepper and vinegar/oil... Everything perfect! However, we find the prices (10.50 -12.90 €) for a glass of wine (0.25) della Casa to be high... The waiter was very reserved, despite there being fewer guests. The previously warm Italian hospitality was somewhat lacking - a shame... Maybe next time it will be different? We would definitely like to come back!! Maybe we'll get to know the friendly Davide, with whom I was in contact by phone 🤗😁!

There is nothing to criticize here. Finding a parking space is the only negative point that the restaurant can't do anything about. 5 stars, gladly again. Friendly and fast service, creative cuisine. Prices absolutely okay.

Wir wurden weder begrüßt noch wurde freundlich mit uns umgegangen. Kinderstuhl wurde angeboten und mit Ja dankend angenommen, kam aber nie. 2 Pizzen bestellen, eine mit Oliven, dann kamen die Pizzen aber die Oliven waren auf der falschen drauf. Darauf hin werden die teller wieder mitgenommen (ohne einer Entschuldigung) und zurückgebracht (immer noch kein Sorry); Oliven wurden einfach von einer zur anderen transferiert! Nachdem ich an die Theke bin und die 3 Herrschaften vor mir informiert habe, dass in der Herrentoilette keine Seife mehr ist, haben sie sich einfach gegenseitig angeschaut und italienisch gesprochen. Eine Stunde später war jemand anders vom Tisch im WC und es gab immer noch keine, was ich unserem Kellner mitgeteilt habe. Darauf hin fragte er mich in einem unmöglichen Ton, was er denn jetzt tun soll? Es müsste eine Firma kommen um die Seife aufzufüllen. Also gab es in dem Lokal, den ganzen Abend, keine Seife! Ich möchte gar nicht drüber nachdenken, ob die gleiche Firma für die Seife in der Küche zuständig ist. Dann kam es zur Rechnung… wir haben getrennt bezahlt, der Kellner hat alles ausgerechnet (hat uns die Rechnung auch nicht geben wollen). Danach haben wir uns zum Ausgang gemacht, da kommt der Kellner wieder in einem Ton angerannt und sagt da geht sich was nicht aus, was hätten wir denn jetzt bezahlt? Dabei hatte er das alles ausgerechnet und hatte die Belege noch in der Hand. Die Pizza war okay, der Schokoladenmousse war sehr gut (selbstgemacht). Aber dafür lohnt sich der Besuch nicht. Schade.

Posto carino, proprietari e personale italiano. Ci siamo fermati a pranzo, non avevamo prenotato ma abbiamo comunque trovato posto. Abbiamo ordinato i piatti del giorno: insalata di fagioli e cipolla + pizza al crudo di Parma (prezzo per entrambi 11,50 euro) e ravioli al radicchio e gorgonzola + insalata di fagioli (sempre 11, 50). Sia la pizza che i ravioli veramente ottimi! Prezzi onesti, consigliato

Normally I don't eat early but if you arrive early for dinner this Italian restaurant isn't busy. After 20.00 it's normally very popular. The food is good Italian style with the families personal touch.

Ho pranzato oggi con il mio bambino e il mio compagno,sono stati subito attenti ai nostri bisogni e davvero gentilissimi,il cibo molto buono e porzioni più che giuste,il conto in linea con il resto dei locali a Monaco

La cucina è buona. Molto buona la pizza. Consiglierei vivamente un cambio di direzione sul servizio, i camerieri sono Rudi e sembrano scocciati.

Pulcinella pizza, 알리오 올리오 파스타, 아라비아따 펜네 파스타 먹었는데 너무 맛있었어요!! 피자 진짜 맛있었고 파스타는 면 익은 정도가 적당하고 양도 나름 많았습니다! 알리오올리오가 더 맛있었어요🫶🏻라들러는 레몬 맛이 다른 곳보다 은은합니다!
