Very good food in a retro atmosphere

Today I went to the former star chef with my son for the first time in 15 years. Food is still top But don't wait another 15 years

25 years ago I often ate currywurst fries there. There must be a new owner, the recipe for the sauce has changed, all the pictures on the walls are gone. It doesn't taste like it used to.

Based on the many reviews, I ate a schnitzel with fries and salad there. I was very disappointed. So you can get it in hundreds of food stalls. Miles away from star cuisine and culinary skills in general. The “homemade sauce” is the usual mix of ready-made products. The schnitzel is small and dark brown from the deep fryer. Loveless salad side dish. Fries are standard. However, the owner does everything to keep his image up. Completely overrated.

The name speaks for itself. FRESH (!) schnitzels, homemade sauces, fine salads! No longer an insider tip, but an absolute recommendation!

On the way to Bottrop we drove via Bochum. Ordered currywurst, fries, mayo and a cola, wonderful. The order was also brought to the table outside, great currywurst, good sauce. It was absolutely worth it, any time again!

I ate currywurst fries there. It tastes okay but the sausage is really bad. People are used to better things in Bochum and Wattenscheid. Just a standard sausage with standard fries. Please make the meal special. Thanks.

I still know Kurt's chip shop, my sister lived almost next door...it was a long time ago, we were really looking forward to Kurt's frikadelke with Kurt's sauce, unfortunately we were very disappointed, the sauce was definitely no longer Kurt's recipe.. .the consistency was more slippery, like jelly. That was the last time I ate there...service and food were great as always...until the kitchen lady came out and wanted to take my plate...even though I was still eating...I just told her...that I just want to finish the schnitzel and she just said in annoyance...that she had enough to do and that I should hurry up...Where at that moment I really thought I wasn't hearing properly...She then went into the kitchen in annoyance and... complained to some gentleman about it...since I was sitting at the very last table...where the connection to the kitchen apparently is...you could hear them both very clearly as the lady and the gentleman complained loudly about me as a guest. .made fun of me and that kind of behavior is actually not acceptable

So for a star chef / or a snack bar that calls itself a professional grill, that's really a poor performance that is offered to you! The curry sauce is far too thin and has no power or taste at all! The sausage tastes mediocre, but the Aviko fries are okay! The meatballs for €2.50 taste like the pre-packaged ones from Lidl and are also dripping with oil The service is nice and works very quickly!

Yesterday, after many years, I ate a currywurst with fries mayo in the professional grill. Simply wonderful, the food, the ambience...The boss and his employees have hardly changed in 22 years. Friendly and competent as always. Thank you...and we'll be back.🍟👌👍

Hello, here from the county of Bentheim for a double currywurst and it was extremely tasty, plus a real, honest Ruhrpott ambience for free.

If you expect star cuisine, you're in the wrong place here. Anyone who is looking for something other than a kebab shop, Asian snack bar or pizza man and is open to Ruhr area nostalgia from the 70s will feel at home here. The 5th star would be there if there were also salt eggs.

As you can see, I have my driving address. I come from Oberhausen about 43km to enjoy my currywurst at Reimund's professional grill. And last but not least, I especially wanted to take the super sauce with me. Bon appetit.

A quaint little restaurant. The staff is very nice. The ambience is a journey back in time to the old Pott. The currywurst fries were very tasty, especially that the curry sauce is not sweet at all.

The currywurst with fries wasn't as good as expected... but that's just my subjective opinion. But perhaps the expectations were too high. The service was quite ok, the ambience corresponds to the Ruhrpott cliché of the 70s - 80s. You have to like it.

I don't understand how this can be the best currywurst. Our sausage was supposed to be warmed up in the deep fryer, which I find absolutely ridiculous. And yes, I saw it myself.

Just had a meal. People who haven't been here have missed something. Great food and totally friendly. I haven't eaten such a good Jägerschnitzel and half a chicken for ages. We'll be regular customers from today on.

Average grill. No outliers in taste. Everything is edible, set up pretty much like a chip shop for a professional grill. Simple and tasteless. Still very popular. Must be doing something right after all.

The owner was very friendly and cut my currywurst with fries with additional chili peppers for me if I requested. Price performance here is definitely very good 👍

Pott fries shop - but the schnitzels don't go into the deep fryer - only the fries were even better. Friendly people, just outside and quite clean, chip shop furnishings - just as you would expect. I'm glad it's still there!

I always enjoy eating a currywurst here. It tastes good here. Today we visited a shop nearby and finally thought, let's eat a currywurst! Less than 10 minutes later we were in the restaurant and ordered. You can park on the street, if you're lucky there are a few parking spaces. Attention, it's a 40 zone ;-) The waitresses were, as always, very friendly and nice and we also received our food quickly. Lovely garnished with a bit of parsley. The fries were nice and crispy and the currywurst was outstanding. If you're ever in the area, don't hesitate and try the sausage! The best currywurst in the pot ;-)

Addendum: I definitely got food poisoning! 😤 HANDS OFF!!! After all the good reviews I thought I'd give it a try there. Sorry but, the currywurst smelled strange, the fries may have been next to the salt but never saw any and the curry sauce was watery and not good. And the fact that the sausage was bad this afternoon is now evident from my extreme nausea and stomach problems. I should have trusted my nose and taste, but hunger at least accounted for half of it. And for 10€, you can get better for less money elsewhere. Conclusion: Unfortunately not recommended at all.

Top snack in Wattenscheid! When we're out and about and drive past Wattenscheid, we go to the Profi Grill. I come all the way from East Westphalia and I'm totally thrilled. We recommend the gypsy schnitzel with fries. The service and the boss are very friendly. See you next time .

A solid currywurst at a fair price.

Yes I can recommend this place. I've gotten fries several times. They're not so mushy and they're light and just really crispy.

We were there for the first time and ordered two gypsy schnitzels and a hunter schnitzel. The taste of the food was an 8/10, the portion was totally appropriate, the fries could have been a little more salted but they were also super tasty. The food was warm, as was the staff - very friendly. The place is really cute, the floor was a bit slippery but not a problem. We would like to come again!

In Wattenscheid there is certainly an “institution”, the good old chip shop from “around the corner”! Real Ruhrpott style and nostalgically furnished. If you want to eat fresh schnitzel (made in the frying pan - not in the fryer), with fresh and homemade sauces and fried potatoes (there are also delicious fries 😉), this is the right place for you. Tastes great! In addition, the boss is very attentive and usually asks every guest whether it tastes good and whether they are satisfied. Guys, try it out and go! Clear recommendation!

The restaurant took part in the culinary scavenger hunt. We were greeted very unfriendly. The staff seemed to be relatively annoyed by the visitors to this event. Only when asked was a vegetarian alternative reluctantly offered. The food is ok. The service needs improvement.

Good quality of the food. The schnitzels are traditionally fried and not deep-fried. The fries are crisp and fresh. The only small point of criticism: the sauces could have been a little hotter. The ambience has probably been intentionally unchanged for years and is “typical for a snack bar”.

We went out to eat for the first time today and had the classic Manta platter. We went there on the “recommendation” of the book “Ruhr area for lovers: The handbook with heart” We were treated so warmly, felt very comfortable, we would like to come back and have the book signed.

The name is program! Good food at friendly prices.

A real chip shop with all the trimmings.

Cult snack bar in Bochum Wattenscheid. The former chef of a star restaurant took over this snack bar over 25 years ago and it seems like time has stood still with the furnishings. That's probably how it looked there in the mid-80s. The shop particularly scores points with its excellent homemade sauces and pan-fried schnitzels. Definitely worth a visit.

Everything, literally everything I ate there tasted incredibly delicious. The Jägerschnitzel is served in a homemade sauce - and it shows. The boss and team are just very friendly and I always feel like a welcome guest there. Short and sweet: Super tasty, always.

We were there with our car club, great snack!! Here the schnitzel is still fried in the pan, everything is handmade. At the end I was given the shish kebab to try...what can I say, top top top as it should be, it fell apart in your mouth😁 Very nice and quick Personl just like the boss! What a beautiful thing that was. French fries shop like it used to be when I was a child. It's been a long time. Please do not renovate. Then the flair is gone. Delicious schnitzel. Not from the deep fryer. Of course there are even better currywurst and fries. But everything was very tasty and it was clean too. We'd love to come back when we're in the Pott again. Stay as you are.

Nomen est omen: The professional grill, our absolute favorite chip shop, if you're nearby, a visit is a must.

Hotel located in the middle of the mountains with a beautiful panorama. Arrival only possible on foot, approx. 2 hours from the top station of the lift. Not recommended for untrained hikers.

After years we were back at the Profi Grill, fries with mayonnaise and currywurst. The quality of the sausage was below average and the curry sauce was absolutely watered down. However, the fine taste of red Thai curry was positive, which unfortunately didn't get rid of the poor quality. The fries were good. The mayo is inconspicuous. Overall the food was disappointing. Visually, the snack bar is very old. The limit to the charm of the Ruhr area has been far exceeded. The service and the warmth of the boss remain good.

I've been going to Profi Grill all my life, but I have to say that the quality of the place has gone down quite a bit in the last two years. Just getting a gyro plate (~10€) is impossible. Of the last 5 times I tried it, 3 times the gyros grill wasn't even on, and 1 time the gyros had to be warmed up in the microwave, which again doesn't justify the price. A real shame

My currywurst with fries tasted good, the deciding factor was the curry sauce, which tasted very good! I took the food with me, but wouldn't eat there on site, a bit grubby. Unfortunately, the currywurst and fries were in a kind of plastic pot, with the currywurst lying under the fries! A wider bowl would be more practical when eating where you don't have to dig for the sausage 😉. The service was friendly, but should have seemed a little more well-groomed 😉. My request: Please ensure a well-kept atmosphere!! The eye eats too 😉

A snack with heart! You meet people from near and far. On our way from Cologne to Münster we like to stop at Raimund's to eat a currywurst and a Holsteiner schnitzel. The professional grill proves again and again that even a snack bar can offer good quality and flawless preparation.

What feels like the only German chip shop. We drive from Düsseldorf to Wattenscheid to eat real currywurst fries. The cucumber cream salad and the mayo are also awesome.

Fresh, quick dishes in a typical Ruhrpott ambience. As usual, the boss and the ladies are nice and accommodating. Moderate prices. The sauces are of course made in-house, and the cooking here is still home-made! An “insider tip” when it comes to fries, schnitzels and a good currywurst!

A great snack bar, down-to-earth, tasty, with fresh products and an excellent price-performance ratio! The owner is very friendly and communicative, you immediately notice his passion for what he does - for every customer. The sauces are homemade (we were able to try everything from the hunter's sauce to the shish kebab), the sausages are made for him, and the schnitzels are fried and not fried. If you expect star-studded frills, you have to go to the corresponding restaurant and pay a different price. If you get your snack here, you get 'simple but delicious food' - exactly what I hope for when I get a currywurst. In my opinion, the “old charm” of the snack bar doesn’t detract from the whole thing. It's a shame that we live so far away, but we'll definitely come back next time we're in Bochum.

Unfortunately, this grill didn't suit us. The currywurst didn't taste at all... especially not like curry... The base of the sauce was - judging by the taste - a curry ketchup... just much waterier. The fries were great The friendliness of the lady at the service took some getting used to. Very rude...she seemed pretty annoyed.

What happens if you let a gourmet chef run a currywurst stall? Pretty much the best Jägerschnitzel I've eaten so far. My wife also loved the currywurst. The crazy idea of ​​spontaneously driving 70 km to a snack bar on Sunday was worth it.

I had a currywurst, fries with mayo, all for 6.50 euros. The fries are narrow and fried to perfection. The currywurst or sauce was rather mildly seasoned, but okay. The mayonnaise is a classic “snack mayonnaise”. All in all, there's nothing to complain about. But it's not incredibly special either. Next time we'll try something different.

If both Google and my own HP say 9 p.m., then I have no understanding at all why I'm told at 8:44 p.m. that we're only open until 8:30 p.m. So I can't say anything about the food. If you want to try it out, you should probably call first to see if someone is there. No matter, there seems to be enough customers. All the best for the future.

The shish kebab was very good. I think the schnitzel was not from the top dish because I was struggling with a tendon. I expected more from the hunter's sauce from a star chef. The mushroom aroma was very weak.

die erwartung war groß, leider nicht erfüllt. super netter service und die pommes legga und reichlich. die soße zur wurst auch gut, aber die wurst ist komplett durchgefallen, eine vorgebratene wurst, die dann auf der platte aufgewärmt wurde, sie war lauwarm, hatte null geschmack und war labbrig. gibt für uns wohl keinen abstecher mehr von der autobahn

Essen vom anderen Stern. Wer normale Pommesbuden Ware erwartet, wird enttäuscht. Ein Gemischter Salat, da schmeckt man noch alles raus was es ist. Knackiger Salat mit unvorstellbaren Dressing. Der Rettich ein Gedicht. Kein Schi-Schi, dafür Bodenständige Küche aber in Perfektion. Okay normale Standard Pommes, aber bei der Menge die umgesetzt werden ist nichts anderes möglich. Auf Wunsch Süßkartoffel-Pommes. Rahmschnitzel hatte ich eine eher dickflüssigere Soße erwarte mit Sahne... nix da. Eher dünner, dafür zu 1000% mit Geschmack so eine leckere Rahmsoße habe ich noch nie gegessen... Der Teller Schnitzel mit Rahmsoße und Pommes, dazu ein mittlerer gemischter Salat und einem Getränk für 15,10€. Jeder einzelne Cent ist das Essen Wert. Danke für dieses tolle Erlebnis. Da wird nie ein anderer Imbiss rankommen.... Komme auf jeden Fall wieder. Wohne aber 130km weg. Oder wer auf der A40 unterwegs Hunger hat in Wattenscheid Ost einfach runter und nicht mal 2 km zum Imbiss... 12 von 10 möglichen Punkten.

Die Spezial Pommes Sauce wird mich heute in meinen Träumen begleiten, toller Service, toller Imbiss!
