I was just there Gyros with rice (red with vegetables) Rice really disgusting I spat it out straight away Gyros with so much gyro seasoning that you get the impression that the meat was already bad and you have to cover it up also threw it away Meatball tastes the same but with cartilage and even 2 pieces of bone and fat to no end Unfortunately I had it to take away otherwise I would have fired the dirt behind the counter My conclusion I will never eat this crap again.

Absolutely recommended. Had a Jäger-style schnitzel/Jägersschnitzel. The meat was very tender and the breading was crispy. The sauce is a poem. As far as I can tell: Natural taste without the use of artificial sodium glutamate. Maybe different than usual, but definitely delicious. The fries that came with it were also just right. I will definitely come back when I am in the region.

Everything fits here. Solid and authentic pot snack. Personally, I don't like the currywurst sauce. However, I am in the minority. Fries and everything else was great.

Was just a test meal! Well attended, the Po.Bu...like before! Tried the bratwurst without anything (simply too ordinary for a advertised butcher's sausage! But it's okay! Plus the shashlik (not a skewer) came out of the pot, a kind of goulash, onions in a separate bowl next to it were added on top! Taste was OK too, thin fries were nothing special but OK! The advertised "schnitzel from the pan" came next to the sausage and fried egg on the griddle/splash pan... they are homemade breaded, but in a pan with clarified butter they are naturally nicer and there is no foreign taste of other sausage, egg, etc. The cleanliness and order still leaves a lot of room for improvement!!! In the cooking area and at/under the tables! The ladies seemed very stressed, which is also noticeable in the way they handled the food!! As an amateur cook, I prefer to be in the kitchen myself! I know what's going on there!! Otherwise, the concept sounded great on TV when Björn Freitag was there. Good! A top chef (or former one) will know that! Thanks. Just eat at a chip shop!😋

There were three of us and we ate bratwurst and currywurst fries because everything else didn't look very inviting and the staff seemed superficial and somehow not very well looked after. The atmosphere seemed old and worn out and didn't invite me to linger. We were served quickly, the prices were moderate, but the sausage could only be described as warm and the curry sauce was too little curry, not spicy and too sweet in my opinion. The slot machine right at the entrance doesn't seem very inviting, especially since the players are blocking the entrance area.

We recently visited the professional grill in Bochum-Wattenscheid and tried the shish kebab with fries mayonnaise - and what can I say? It was really delicious! The shish kebab itself was incredibly tender, almost buttery, and literally melted in your mouth. The sauce that went with it was an absolute highlight - spicy, creamy and simply perfectly balanced, it gave the dish that certain something. The fries with mayonnaise were crispy and rounded the whole thing off perfectly. The employees were very friendly. The trip from Essen to Bochum Wattenscheid was worth it. Clear recommendation for anyone who loves hearty, delicious snack classics.

I've been a regular customer for over 20 years and still come by occasionally when I'm in the area. Unfortunately, the professional grill has declined massively in recent years: Open until 9 p.m., it can happen that you find yourself standing in front of the closed doors from 8:15 p.m. and watching the staff sweep away. In general, the staff: The service is completely confused and gets in each other's way, one employee stands out not only because of her disgustingly long fingernails (a no-go in the restaurant) with which she grabs the sausage on the grill (without gloves), but above all because of her extremely unfriendly, snotty manner towards the customer ("Yes, what do you want?" - where I come from they say "Hello"). That's not possible, and charging to the detriment of the customer (even though the price board is clearly visible behind the counter) is certainly not possible (especially not getting rude when the error is politely pointed out -- and no, I can sell myself better for being stupid, I don't need any outside help for that). Something is clearly wrong here, because when the boss is in the house, the ladies pull together. But woe betide you when the cat is out of the house... the deep fryer is swept up and served up. Addition: It should perhaps be made clear once and for all that the owner is NOT a star chef. The man learned his craft in the catering industry and spent a few years standing behind the stove in the kitchen of a star restaurant in Düsseldorf and swinging the pans and pots. Then he got fed up with the stress in the kitchen and opened his own shop at the opposite end of the spectrum.

My currywurst with fries tasted good, the deciding factor was the curry sauce, which tasted very good! I took the food with me, but wouldn't eat there on site! Unfortunately, the currywurst and fries were in a kind of plastic pot, with the currywurst lying under the fries! A wider bowl would be more practical when eating without having to dig for the sausage 😉. The service was friendly 😉. My request: Please create an even nicer atmosphere!! The eye eats too 😉

The cooking here is just as good or bad as in other grills. Ruhrpott atmosphere or not, being a star chef doesn't mean that everything is better here. We could have saved ourselves the journey.

Unfortunately I have to agree with the critical comments. The currywurst is tasty but unfortunately nothing special. The ambience is still great! A really classic snack bar in Pott. You feel like you've been transported back in time when there weren't really any kebab shops. The boss is super friendly. My tip would be the homemade meatballs, they were really good. However, the prices are very cheap.

The best schnitzel far and wide! The schnitzel here doesn't come from the deep fryer, but from the frying pan. The chef cooks the accompanying sauces himself (no ready-made sauce). ...and it tastes good. The portions are large, the prices are fair. Of course, there is also the classic currywurst here. Word has spread around the world that a former star chef runs a chip shop here. Accordingly, you often meet tourists here or a television crew. And everyone leaves here happy and well-fed.

I can't begin to understand the positive impressions. As soon as you enter the chip shop, you notice that an urgent basic cleaning is due. The floor and door handles are greasy. The interior furnishings and the counter area need to be replaced. It looks like they come from bulky waste, the facility is so worn out. OK, maybe the food is surprisingly good, since the owner was supposed to be a top chef? Nope, pure disappointment. Run-of-the-mill fries from the supermarket bag that are also really bland. The "Gyros" is partly burnt black, probably because the regulars never order it. Pure guesswork, because I'm not from the area and therefore I'm not one of the regulars. The mayo that was ordered and paid for was not on the plate. Overall, loveless and tasteless, as the first impression suggested. You can really get it like this and better at any cheap chip shop. The only thing that makes the shop survive is the friendliness of the owner, who obviously knows his regulars. They come in, are given a warm welcome in typical Ruhr area fashion and are given their tribal meal straight away without asking. That's really nice to see. I probably won't experience this warmth personally, because I won't be a regular guest in the future either.

After eating there several times now, I can say that the meals are very tasty. The only thing that doesn't fit is that people are constantly standing at the slot machine (at the entrance) and blocking the entrance! Sometimes it feels like you're in an arcade.

A family (6 people) unanimously said that the “bucket” of shashlik they picked up on the way to Niederrhein/Marl was so delicious. Making your own hot air fries with mayo tasting was an experience.

Everything is simply delicious and of the best quality. Homemade sauces, nothing out of the bucket. Friendly old school service. You can tell in everything that a trained specialist is working here. That's why I like to come to WAT from DO more often.

Today I went to the Profi Grill in Bochum because I visited it a few years ago and remembered it well!!! I ordered a Holsteiner schnitzel with fried egg, braised onions and extra hunter's sauce. Plus the Balkan rice and a bottle of Vitamalz. Less than 7 minutes later the food was on the table. I think wow, that worked quickly. Unfortunately the eggs weren't fully cooked so some of the yolks were still very runny. The schnitzel was very thin and mostly chewy. The rice, well, in terms of taste, I have eaten better Balkan rice. Originally I wanted to take 2 croquettes and 2 meatballs with me, which I already said when I ordered. But after this taste defeat, I decided not to do it, oh because they weren't ready yet! Cash was collected with an open cash register and calculator!!!! Therefore no receipt!!!! It's really a shame what was once such a great snack bar has become!!! Personally, I no longer come to you from Dortmund!!!

I'm in Bochum right now and I really have to recommend the chip shop! It feels totally like it used to be, a typical German place. Great quality and the people are super friendly. I'm thrilled, it's a shame that shops like this are becoming so rare.

Unfortunately not good at all. The bratwurst must have been cooked on the warm plate for 45 minutes and was warmed up again when ordered. The sausage itself was very bland. The sauce, homemade, but with way too much water. The sauce is very watered down and unfortunately tastes like almost nothing. Doesn't live up to its formerly very good reputation.

I visited the grill because of the good reviews. I placed my order at 7:45 p.m. and received it a short time later. By eating in peace, I mean something different. The chairs were put up, the front door was completely opened and the bar tables were brought in while I was eating. It pulled like pike soup. You can do something like this as soon as the guests have left the snack bar, according to the opening times it is open until 8:30 p.m. I also didn't think the food was as great as many guests had praised. I definitely won't be going there again.

This is a French fries shop like no other! Honest food, generous portions, friendly staff and fair prices – everything is just right here. The absolute highlight: This place is run by a former star chef, and you can taste that in every bite. No matter what you order, it is fully recommended. It can get a little more crowded on the weekend, but that's exactly what contributes to the sociable atmosphere. A real highlight!

Super lecker! Top zubereitete Pommes mit hervorragenden Saucen. Wurst, Frikadellen, Schaschlik, Schnitzel alles Spitze. Chef freundlich und ehrlich. Die Einrichtung hat den alten Ruhrgebiets Charme und passt irgendwie dazu. Sehr empfehlenswert! Allemal die fünf Sterne wert.

A Ruhrpott fries shop straight out of a picture book. Sausage from the butcher is used for the currywurst and it also has a really nice taste. The sauce is of course homemade. The fresh schnitzels are also highly recommended. Special recommendation: the taxi plate, meat and tzatziki are simply great. But you shouldn't plan anything afterwards because of the tzatziki 😉😅. I've been going here for a good 20 years and hope that Mr. Ostendorp still has a few more years until retirement.

We pre-ordered food for 25 people from Profi Grill for my birthday. Schnitzel, shashlik, currywurst, croquettes, fries, various sauces and salads. The food was fantastically good. My guests were thrilled!! In addition, more was cooked as ordered and we were very full. Our best birthday meal yet!!! I can only recommend it!!

I was at the Profi Grill for the first time today and it was a nice experience. I only know such a nice greeting from Canada, I immediately felt at home. I ordered a currywurst fries with special sauce and it was really tasty. If the sauce had been available to buy separately, I would have picked up a bottle straight away. There are several seats available, everything is very clean and well maintained and the order was brought to the table in no time. I will definitely come back again to try the shashlik and a schnitzel from the pan. I parked on the street. Outside there are covered bar tables, ashtrays and a bench.

Quaint chip shop, the owner greeted us at the door with a handshake, even though it was our first time there. Fries were good, currywurst too. The Jägerschnitzel was okay. Furnishings were back in the past, but absolutely beautiful. Nice people with whom we shared the table, we'll come back and then hope for truffle mayo.

I had a currywurst with fries and mayo. I found the curry sauce very boring. The meat quality was good. Fries were standard fries. High quality mayo. You can eat, but I wouldn't go there specifically.

The restaurant looks like it has fallen out of time, but it is clean and the employees used their time to clear away and clean. Every sauce we tried was homemade. The curry sauce could have used more bang for me but tastes differ. The shish kebab was tender and very good. The schnitzel was very tasty and the gypsy sauce was very tasty. The hunter's sauce tasted delicious like mushrooms. The portions are large. This wasn't our last visit.

Four of us were there for chicken on Saturday evening. My father, my brother and his wife were there shortly after 7:30 p.m. and placed the order straight away. I arrived about ten minutes later. The waitress behind the counter was complaining the whole time. She then asked us what we would like to eat now because she wanted to finish work. Even though the order was placed before I arrived, I had to pass it on again because she didn't remember what we had ordered. I used to come here very often, and my father also often came here for chicken dinners. From now on we'll let it go.
