Portofino Ristorante in Köln

It was the best meal I had in Cologne. First of all, the food made us very happy. The service, atmosphere and taste were wonderful. We would like to thank our waiter Kesra for her smiling face, kindness and guidance. I strongly recommend it.

We ordered pasta, unfortunately it wasn't tasty. We would have to wait quite a long time for that. It is not recommended.

Okay food, slow and unfriendly service.

We spent two days with our daughter in Cologne... We had lunch in Portofino for two days... On all counts, the highest rating... We were met and served by two young men... We have not seen such wonderful service in Germany for a long time... The food is freshly prepared (not heated) and made from excellent ingredients... The prices are surprisingly very affordable for the city center... And well, everything is very tasty.. Light, not loud music creates an additional mood... We recommend it to everyone.

Actually a nice shop. Service was also very friendly. It's not so nice that the toilet door is usually left open. There are possibilities for it to close on its own. Only 4 stars because only cash payment. In this day and age, not paying by card is really not that nice. And a cash machine that probably charges high fees is dubious and outdated anyway. The bill was briefly offset, but in the end everything was correct. Thank you. Had a lovely time

I am completely honest and transparent: We ordered drinks and a pizza with rocket. The pizza came with ham. We then said that we didn't order fancy pizza. They then said that the pizza with rocket would have ham. However, if you look at the online menu, the Ruccola pizza is without ham but in the physical menu it is actually with ham but we meant the one without ham, that's what we said because we don't eat pork. The waiter then took the pizza and went back inside. Then he came with another pizza and said it wasn't pork ham but turkey. It looked a completely different pizza. We then just said okay, we were hungry and didn't want any stress at all. However, the pizza was so cold that I was a bit groggy. Of course we said that. The waiter then took the pizza again and we had to drive off slowly and catch the last train back. So in total we waited probably 1 hour for a pizza and in the end it didn't arrive correctly. When we got to the checkout and waited for it. That was the pizza warmed up, then said the boss or whoever it was, yes this is a fresh pizzane new pizza then I said okay, is this another one with ham or just with rocket? Then the waiter opened the pizza box and it was just the pizza in front of it again, which had already turned really black and was put into the oven with the ruccola on it and all the ruccola was already really stuck together and dry and absorbed, basically burned on the pizza. Then I said, well, it's still the same as before but it doesn't matter (we had to leave and just wanted to leave) the boss or whoever it was at the checkout then became really rude and really loud and then shouted at us in the crowd and said, I don't want any more money from you and I'll never enter this store again. I want you never to come into this store again. Get out of here right now and get the hell out of there. I was really scared and actually didn't say anything. We waited over an hour for a pizza. Then it was just pork for us. First of all, the pizza was served, then in the same second it was replaced by another pizza. And we even accepted that because we were just hungry but we just wanted to go, we wanted to have waited so long but we at least wanted the pizza to be warm and then three more lies and then a burnt dry pizza that we didn't want to serve and then expose it in front of the people. I don't have any words left. I'm just shocked. The boss even said he was speaking in Italian. Waiters bring the pizza to the back and we then go to someone else. So all of this is reason enough to never come back there again. He was, it's really very strange, I can't fully understand this fake resection good review because I heard a lot of negative feedback about this store even afterward, which I've now inquired about. And apparently it's not the first time so no recommendation!!!! In the end we still paid for the drinks because that's not who we are and that was my intention. We just wanted to eat pizza and then left. Conclusion We waited over an hour for a pizza, we were treated badly, unfriendly, aggressive and in the end we didn't even get our pizza. My girlfriend and I ate here before a concert. We had a craving for pizza. We were warmly welcomed and were able to place an order straight away. The pizza was hot, fresh and super tasty! The staff enchanted with wonderful service, a lot of attention and textbook friendliness! This is exactly how I imagine an Italian restaurant! It's not just pizza and pasta and an Italian name that's advertised here - here you'll find original Italian cuisine and hospitality! I'm thrilled.

Good place but mediocre pizzas.

Pizza was good, both employees were very nice - but they were more busy with their cell phones and not really attentive. The soap dispenser in the toilet was filled with water - there were no towels to dry your hands in both toilets. We wouldn't visit the restaurant again.

I absolutely loved the Portofino restaurant! As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the warm, inviting atmosphere and the tasteful ambience. The staff is incredibly friendly, attentive and makes you feel at home straight away. The wine selection also deserves high praise. The recommended wine harmonized perfectly with our food and rounded off the entire experience. All in all, Portofino is a place I would happily return to at any time. Perfect food, great service and a relaxed atmosphere – highly recommended! Gladly again.

A disappointing experience, and even more surprising coming from an Italian restaurant. We thought we would never be disappointed with Italian food, but unfortunately that was the case here. The food was sorely lacking in flavor, so much so that I had to send my dish back to the kitchen to improve it. Even after that, the result remained unsatisfactory. Everything seemed like industrial cuisine, without any authenticity or effort to enhance the taste.

Actually 0 stars, unfortunately not possible. Unfortunately, our visit to this pizzeria was anything but satisfactory. The pizza I ordered was completely burnt black on the edge. The dough was dry and thin, which further affected the taste. When I politely pointed out the burnt edge to the staff, I was met with disrespect. I was asked why I would eat the inside of the pizza when the edge was burnt. Then he wanted me to turn the pizza over and was of the opinion that both sides had to be black so that the pizza could be considered burnt or burnt. When I tried to answer him, he wouldn't let me finish, waved me off, turned around and left. It is unfortunate that a restaurant treats customers in such a manner. I have never experienced such disrespect in this way. Given this experience, I strongly advise against visiting this pizzeria. First visit and spot in Cologne, NEVER AGAIN!! Do yourself a favor and go to another “restaurant,” if you can even call it that.

Absolutely avoid if you want to eat at least correctly. Tasteless pizza, cardboard dough. The waiter comes 3 times, rushing us to know what we want to eat in order to close quickly. In short, we thought that with an Italian restaurant, we couldn't go wrong. And that's where we went wrong.

Nice little restaurant, near the cathedral. The service was friendly and attentive. A classic salami pizza was ordered. Unfortunately the salami was cut into pieces and not very authentic. In general it tasted good but not exceptional.

Das wir an einem Samstagabend, bei dieser guten Lage spontan, ohne lange Wartezeiten einen Tisch bekommen haben hätte uns stutzig machen müssen. Schon bei der Getränkebestellung - Aperol Spritz wurden wir vom Servicepersonal fragend angeschaut. Erst nach Rücksprache mit dem Chef konnte die Bestellung final aufgenommen werden. Für uns, bei einem absoluten In-Getränk nicht nachvollziehbar. Die restlichen Getränke (Spezi & Apfelschorle) wurden nach den Speisen serviert. Die Nudeln (Penne Napoli) wurden, nach nicht einmal 5 Minuten, eiskalt und verkocht serviert. Das spricht für uns nicht für frische Küche. Pizza war ok. Kritik wurde vom Restaurant nicht akzeptiert. Als wir das Restaurant bereits verlassen haben, wurde uns noch hinterher gerufen, wir sollen bitte nie wieder kommen. Alles in allem ein sehr unprofessionelles Verhalten. Wir kommen mit Sicherheit nicht wieder. Auf unsere Bewertungen Googlebewertung wurden seitens des Restaurants mit Falschaussagen geantwortet. Inhaber sind absolut nicht Kritikfähig. Wir haben die Kritik sehr sachlich geäußert.

I was welcomed very nicely by the Waiter‘s and ordered a yummy pasta with a pizza Margherita and they took my order instantly , the staff there was very polite and fast and were nice to talk to since the waiter was very approachable , i can highly recommend this restaurant because my experience here was excellent.

It's a shame that you can't give 0 stars!! It started with the waitress barely speaking or understanding German, she didn't even know what a "Spezi" was. We were eating there with a group and everyone had different types of pasta, catastrophic!! It definitely wasn't freshly cooked, my "cream sauce" was as thin as water and that's exactly how it tasted, no taste at all! It was only during the payment process that we became aware that you can only pay in cash, and there was no sign anywhere. And selling the entire package at that price is actually quite cheeky, we will definitely never visit this restaurant again and will also pass it on to friends and acquaintances!!

Nachdem das Servicepersonal darauf hingewiesen wurde, wurde diskutiert und behauptet, dass das nicht stimmen würde. Das Essen wurde am Ende zwar nicht berechnet, aber mit folgendem Wortlaut verabschiedet: „Chef sagt kommen Sie nie wieder“. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt waren wir aus dem Lokal bereits draußen.

The fact that we got a table spontaneously on a Saturday evening in this good location without having to wait long should have made us suspicious. As soon as we ordered the drink - Aperol Spritz, the service staff looked at us questioningly. The order could only be finalized after consultation with the boss. For us, this is incomprehensible for an absolute trendy drink. The remaining drinks (Spezi & apple spritzer) were served after the food. The pasta (Penne Napoli) was served ice cold and overcooked after less than 5 minutes. For us, that doesn't speak for fresh cuisine. Pizza was ok. The restaurant did not accept criticism. As we were already leaving the restaurant, we were shouted to please never come back. All in all, very unprofessional behavior. We will definitely not be coming back.

Unfortunately the food came cold and tasted very bad (simple pasta with tomato sauce). The noodles were overcooked and ice cold, the food came 5 minutes after ordering - freshly cooked food is something different. After this was pointed out to the service staff, there was discussion and claims that this was not true. In the end, the meal was not charged for, but was passed with the following wording: “Boss says never come back”. At this point we were already out of the restaurant.

Waited over an hour for the food. Tables were constantly being moved around and served above us and other guests. When the food finally came, a pizza was served instead of the pasta we had ordered. Unfortunately, unlike what was described here in the reviews, the food was really nothing special and of rather poor quality: a lot of cheese, a lot of cream and little vegetables and meat. Price-performance ratio is absolutely disproportionate, we paid over €50 for a glass of the cheapest wine, two cokes and two main courses... at the tables around us, some people waited even longer for their food and instead of being insightful they discussed things with the customers. Absolutely no recommendation and not an authentic Italian.

Fantastic experience at Portofino I had the pleasure of visiting the Portofino and absolutely loved it. As soon as I entered the restaurant I felt warmly welcomed - the atmosphere is cozy and stylish at the same time. The staff was extremely friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our waiter in particular, [Name], served us excellently and was always available to answer questions and requests. The food was simply outstanding! I tried the pizza, which was perfectly flavored and beautifully presented. My companion was also enthusiastic about her dish, the salad. The ingredients were fresh and high quality. Another highlight was the wine selection – perfectly matched to the food. The dessert menu was equally tempting and the dessert was the perfect end to a great evening. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here, and I can only warmly recommend the Portofino. A real insider tip for everyone who appreciates good food and first-class service. I will recommend further..!

Totally overpriced, salad for 15 euros consists of iceberg lettuce that was only partially cut, huge pieces of tomato, a tiny portion of turkey, sauce and parmesan. For me, there was a lot missing from a mixed salad. The portion of spaghetti was tiny and lacked flavor.

The enormous language barrier was another hurdle. The menu on the website is out of date, dishes are not up to date and the prices have risen significantly. Only cash payment is possible. This was the most enchanting and romantic eatery in the shopping district in Cologne! Our waiter Castro was so charming and helpful We dined on the most fabulous fresh salad with an assortment of fresh vegetables and a mushroom pizza We sat outside and enjoyed the shoppers and passersby The restaurant had plenty of outside seating and ample interior options as well The bathroom was spotless The value for the price was excellent We enjoyed the dinner and would definitely return!! My experience at this restaurant was fabulous, the food was delivered quickly, I haven't had a Magharita pizza so delicious in my mouth in a long time, the service was as good as the food I have eaten here, the waiters were very personable and inviting, the location is well chosen and the atmosphere was great. The Food there was amazing i ordered a regular Pizza with Chicken on it , it came fast and with no problems , there is nothing bad to say about the service because they welcomed me with open hands, the location is super and i really loved the Atmosphere there , me as a restaurant expert myself must say my experience here was delightful so i really recommend you going here to eat!

The pizzeria is good, delicious pizza could be a little tastier (without a lot of fat) and the base less crispy, but still good, the prices are perfectly reasonable and the service is very nice and particularly fast. It's clean there, you can sit inside and outside. Special requests are also taken into account.
