Very friendly staff Delicious food, especially the Alforno.

Good location, prices are acceptable. The toilets are clean but smell strongly of chlorine cleaner. Oh well, at least they're clean! I'm always up for an affordable pizza. I don't need schnitzel at an Italian restaurant; it's their own fault if they choose that. I'd gladly come again.

Avoid at all cost - very bad service. We went in ordered drinks and after 10 minutes they came to us saying that we need to leave if we don’t order food - this should be communicated at the entrance, not when guests are already sitting. Plus we asked that we only wanted to stay for a few minutes, but told us to leave anyways.

Shameful! We called an hour and a half before arriving. We specified a table for two with a baby for 6:15 PM. Just finding someone who spoke a language other than German was complicated. No Italian, English, or French. The response was, "No problem, come and we'll give you an indoor changing table." Trusting them, we arrived at 6:10 PM and asked for the table, in English. And surprise, there was no table, not even outside! Then they told us we would have to pay in cash... Honestly, walk two minutes and go to Ledere. 1000 times more authentic and excellent!

Close to Cologne Cathedral. A cosy and quiet restaurant serving delicious pizzas and pastas. I particularly like the flavour of the penne fugi sauce.

We had a delicious pasta dinner as a family. The waiter who served us was also excellent, super friendly and pleasant. We enjoyed it very much!

A simple restaurant with friendly service and the food is okay. Unfortunately, they didn't accept card payments.

The food was simply not as expected – the gnocchi, for example, weren't cooked through, and the four-cheese sauce consisted more or less entirely of processed cheese! The chicken pizza had at least 20g of chicken shards (to be generous), which had to be picked out. The chicken panini was also undercooked and contained even less shards of chicken. For five bad meals, a large bottle of water, and a 0.2l Coke, we paid over €100.

The food was delicious! We always choose Italian cuisine, so we can make a good comparison. Excellent service. Thank you to the team for a delightful and pleasant evening.

pasta is nothing special, snitchzel is frozen half cooked with frozen fries… they will not inform you that there is no possibility to pay with card .. do not go there guys find something else

The restaurant is called Portofino, but unfortunately the owner is not Italian, which bothered me.

Friendly service and a nice ambiance, but the overall offering for the price didn't meet my expectations of a good Italian restaurant.

Food was extremely bland. The pizza had hardly any sauce whatsoever and lacked any kind of flavor. My wife had the penne bolognese and no seasoning. Just meat, sauce, and noodles. All in all, definitely skip this place and find something better near by.

The restaurant is very centrally located opposite the WDR (West German Broadcasting Corporation) and offers both indoor and outdoor dining with typical Italian offerings. Service is fast and friendly, the food is served very quickly, and is of average quality without any particular flavor highlights. However, the fact that they don't offer pizza rolls or herb or garlic butter, and that they don't accept card payments, is absolutely unacceptable for a restaurant in this location and as a restaurant in this day and age. The fact that an ATM just happens to be located right at the entrance to the restaurant, and a notice regarding cash payments is only displayed upon receipt of the bill, thus ensuring frequent use of the machine – it may be a coincidence, but it makes you think about certain things...!

Great food, great service, and we learned they have halal food! Our server, Salaar, was very kind and helpful. The washrooms were exceptionally clean as well.

Prices in the restaurant don't match those on the website, much to the detriment of guests. The food is okay, but nothing culinary special. The prices are steep for the quality described, even considering the immediate proximity to Cologne Cathedral. Even a 0.2-liter sip of Coke for €3.20 doesn't help. Payment is "currently" only possible in cash; fortunately, there's one of those reputable ATMs right by or near the entrance with reasonable withdrawal rates. Enjoy your meal!

Overall, below average at best. As the reviews indicate, the card reader seems to be more than just temporarily broken. Fortunately, there "just happens" to be an ATM right outside the restaurant. There also seems to be a problem with special requests – my companion failed to order a vegetarian version of the paninis, which looked considerably tastier online. Prices are too high.

The service regarding vegetarian options was poor. Furthermore, "currently" (apparently for the past six months) only cash payments are accepted. It's clever that there's an ATM right at the entrance. The receipt was also only issued upon request. Overall, the food was solid—but a bit expensive, despite the location (e.g., a panini tonno for around €10). Hence, 2 stars.

The restaurant has no right to be called Italian. They even managed to spoil the pasta. We ordered pizza with prosciutto, but instead of prosciutto there was second-rate ham. And it would be nice to keep the place clean. We sat inside because it was raining outside, and the ventilation inside probably didn't work because it stank of vinegar and fried oil. I definitely don't recommend it.

Overall a let down based on the average rating for this place; our order of 2 pizzas was about 10-15 mins later than the table next to us, which was also 2 pizzas, and our orders were taken by the same waitress in the same moment. No reason to expect the order to be significantly slower or later. The staff was already turning away people at about 2000, while the place was open until 2100. Seems very odd to me, but to each their own way of managing a place. Pizza was eh at best; thin crust, but very sparse on the toppings and (not fully) cut into odd shapes.

Located in Cologne's pedestrian zone across from the Funkhaus Café. There is indoor and outdoor seating. The menu is comprehensive: delicious pizzas, pasta, and salads. The service staff is friendly and attentive. They also accommodate special requests (smaller portions, such as senior citizen plates). Cash only, but there is an ATM in front of the restaurant. The prices are fair and reasonable. The restrooms could benefit from a bit more attention from the owner in terms of cleanliness, hygiene, and the availability of soap.

There were five of us and we sat down at a table on the corner. There were NO signs. We all had a menu in our hands. About 2-3 minutes went by. A young man came and said we weren't allowed to sit there. I repeat, nothing was posted. He said we had to stand up, which we did straight away, but my sister said that nothing was noted. The young man didn't even let us finish what we were saying and was rude. I repeat, he didn't even let us finish what we were saying. Luckily we didn't eat anything there!!!! Never again!!! I recommend everyone to ask directly where they are allowed to sit or not!!!! They ruined my lovely day here in Cologne with their cheeky and rude attitude!!!!

Why this place has a 4.7 rating is beyond me. It was a pizza, but I’ve had much better at places with lower ratings. Quote of the dinner: “I’ll never have a pizza again after this thing.” It was just okay, I wouldn’t recommend it.

Unfortunately, only for service points, as we received an immediate discount after complaining. Reason for complaint: We ordered two cannelloni, and shortly afterwards, one of the employees walked past us with frozen goods from G&G from Edeka. Since I work at Edeka myself, I know the packaging. It's a shame. We canceled our meal, which cost just under €18 each, and then left after paying for our drinks. It's a real shame. Update: My review has also been sued. I had to file an appeal to prevent it from being deleted.

The toilet didn't even have soap, and there was no way to dry your hands—in short, disgusting. The pizza wasn't pizza at all, but a round slice with cheese.

The place was dirty, the waiter was rude, and the pizza was not what was described on the menu. When I complained, they refused to do anything about it.

I can't recommend the terrace because the view is poor and the noise is constant. The staff was friendly, but also very slow. The wait for two pizzas took 30 minutes, even though we were sitting in the restaurant with four other people, all of whom had already eaten.

Don't take the pizza if you're italian. I was alone and had to wait until all the tables of people who arrived after me in groups were served before getting my meal. Update: After I posted this review, a legal complaint was submitted to have it removed. I appealed, and Google reinstated it.

The (standard) pasta was served without Parmesan, contrary to the menu description. When we asked, we were told that the Parmesan was out. A definite no-go for an Italian restaurant! There was no discount. Furthermore, the drink selection is poor. There's only one red and one white wine, and they're not even listed on the menu. Conclusion: NOT recommended!

A place we went to by chance and were very pleased. The portions are very filling and delicious. Most of the employees speak Turkish and are very attentive. I recommend it.

After asking, the first waitress didn't know how the pizza was made and had to send someone else ahead. The pasta wasn't cooked all the way through and that's not what serious service looks like.

It was a very enjoyable dinner. I hope they continue to serve for many years with their friendly and caring staff.

If you offer schnitzel, it should also taste good. The meat was an absolute disgrace. It had absolutely nothing of a schnitzel. Then it's better not to offer it. The fries weren't much better. Not recommended. Service was ok. The fact that the toilet door was always open wasn't so nice either.

€15.80 for penne with bolognese is an excessive price. Parsley only on the edge of the plate - not even fresh, but from a can. Grated cheese on top didn't seem to be fresh, but from a bag. No card payment was possible. I wonder why the food in the pizzeria is rated so well.

The food wasn't good - especially for the price. The pizza tasted more like a frozen pizza; Sometimes it even tasted like nothing but flour. The pasta was partly overcooked and the sauce wasn't particularly good either. However, the ambience and service were good.

We were there after seeing the musical Moulin Rouge. Service very friendly. Map clear. Ordered pizza with shrimps and salmon and spinach. There were 5!!! Shrimp on the pizza. I find that very little. The one with salmon was better. The pizzas are large and taste good.

This is a low level pizzeria. Everything here was wrong from beginning to the end, first problem was the waiting time, it took 45 minutes and two reminders before our order arrived. While asking the waiter when will our pizza come, he was doing some rude jokes about our requests. At the end the pizza was dry and hard because it was overcooked. So basically this place deserves only 0 points.

Unfortunately, it's a mystery to me how this store can be rated so well. We chose this store based on the reviews and were disappointed. The pizza is mediocre, hot oil here is Tabasco or chili peppers. The service was relatively slow and not particularly attentive when it came to drinks etc. Both were attentive on their cell phones several times. Maximum take away potential in my opinion. It's a shame because the location is nice.

I really like the customer service of this restaurant. Breakfast is so good and taste and can be full even. Can charge your phone also if you’re power dead somehow.

The taste of the food was very, very tasty. I had the spaghetti carbonara. Service and employees are also top. The location is basically good because it is close to the train station, Cologne Cathedral and a few shops. But there isn't much to see from the store. It's definitely fine though and the restaurant looks very clean and pleasant inside. The only thing I find unfortunate is that the portions are a bit small. Half the current portion more and I would have been a little more full. So if you're very hungry, you should think about ordering an appetizer, but only if it's pasta. The size of the pizzas looked very solid, but we didn't order any until we saw them walk past us with them.

The service was friendly and attentive - there's nothing wrong with that. Unfortunately the food couldn't keep up. The pizza was dry and visually more reminiscent of a ready-made product than a freshly prepared dish. The pasta seemed warmed up, was cold in places and was served without parmesan, which further spoiled the overall impression. The price level was definitely too high for the quality offered. It's a shame, because the atmosphere was actually pleasant - but from a culinary point of view it was disappointing.

It was the best meal I had in Cologne. First of all, the food made us very happy. The service, atmosphere and taste were wonderful. We would like to thank our waiter Kesra for her smiling face, kindness and guidance. I strongly recommend it.

We spent two days with our daughter in Cologne... We had lunch in Portofino for two days... On all counts, the highest rating... We were met and served by two young men... We have not seen such wonderful service in Germany for a long time... The food is freshly prepared (not heated) and made from excellent ingredients... The prices are surprisingly very affordable for the city center... And well, everything is very tasty.. Light, not loud music creates an additional mood... We recommend it to everyone.

I am completely honest and transparent: We ordered drinks and a pizza with rocket. The pizza came with ham. We then said that we didn't order fancy pizza. They then said that the pizza with rocket would have ham. However, if you look at the online menu, the Ruccola pizza is without ham but in the physical menu it is actually with ham but we meant the one without ham, that's what we said because we don't eat pork. The waiter then took the pizza and went back inside. Then he came with another pizza and said it wasn't pork ham but turkey. It looked a completely different pizza. We then just said okay, we were hungry and didn't want any stress at all. However, the pizza was so cold that I was a bit groggy. Of course we said that. The waiter then took the pizza again and we had to drive off slowly and catch the last train back. So in total we waited probably 1 hour for a pizza and in the end it didn't arrive correctly. When we got to the checkout and waited for it. That was the pizza warmed up, then said the boss or whoever it was, yes this is a fresh pizzane new pizza then I said okay, is this another one with ham or just with rocket? Then the waiter opened the pizza box and it was just the pizza in front of it again, which had already turned really black and was put into the oven with the ruccola on it and all the ruccola was already really stuck together and dry and absorbed, basically burned on the pizza. Then I said, well, it's still the same as before but it doesn't matter (we had to leave and just wanted to leave) the boss or whoever it was at the checkout then became really rude and really loud and then shouted at us in the crowd and said, I don't want any more money from you and I'll never enter this store again. I want you never to come into this store again. Get out of here right now and get the hell out of there. I was really scared and actually didn't say anything. We waited over an hour for a pizza. Then it was just pork for us. First of all, the pizza was served, then in the same second it was replaced by another pizza. And we even accepted that because we were just hungry but we just wanted to go, we wanted to have waited so long but we at least wanted the pizza to be warm and then three more lies and then a burnt dry pizza that we didn't want to serve and then expose it in front of the people. I don't have any words left. I'm just shocked. The boss even said he was speaking in Italian. Waiters bring the pizza to the back and we then go to someone else. So all of this is reason enough to never come back there again. He was, it's really very strange, I can't fully understand this fake resection good review because I heard a lot of negative feedback about this store even afterward, which I've now inquired about. And apparently it's not the first time so no recommendation!!!! In the end we still paid for the drinks because that's not who we are and that was my intention. We just wanted to eat pizza and then left. Conclusion We waited over an hour for a pizza, we were treated badly, unfriendly, aggressive and in the end we didn't even get our pizza. Actually a nice shop. Service was also very friendly. It's not so nice that the toilet door is usually left open. There are possibilities for it to close on its own. Only 4 stars because only cash payment. In this day and age, not paying by card is really not that nice. And a cash machine that probably charges high fees is dubious and outdated anyway. The bill was briefly offset, but in the end everything was correct. Thank you. Had a lovely time

My girlfriend and I ate here before a concert. We had a craving for pizza. We were warmly welcomed and were able to place an order straight away. The pizza was hot, fresh and super tasty! The staff enchanted with wonderful service, a lot of attention and textbook friendliness! This is exactly how I imagine an Italian restaurant! It's not just pizza and pasta and an Italian name that's advertised here - here you'll find original Italian cuisine and hospitality! I'm thrilled.
