This was our second time there; it was super delicious and the staff was very friendly. We can definitely recommend it, even with children ❤️ TOP: House starter, bread, herb butter, olives, and bruschetta! TOP: Smaller portions are also available for children! We'd love to come back next time we're in Cologne.

We stopped here because I missed Italy, but I was very disappointed. The service was good, yes, but this is NOT an AUTHENTIC Italian restaurant. It feels more like an Italian restaurant in America. We were offered complimentary bread with tomatoes, which I guess was supposed to be bruschetta, but the bread wasn't grilled, and the tomato mixture was spicy for some reason. I thought it was funny that they have a basil plant as decoration but don't use it. We ordered the daily special and a pizza, and the quality of the food wasn't bad, but the ingredients were completely mixed up. The pizza was offered with spicy or garlic sauce, which is extremely odd, and my husband's lobster pasta had cream sauce, and he was asked if he wanted Parmesan cheese on top (which is taboo in Italy, eating fish and cheese together). I assume the server was just German and didn't know any better, but I was very disappointed. The prices were quite high, and we ordered a house wine for the occasion. I'm used to Italian house wine being cheap, as it's usually not an expensive brand, but we paid a whopping €28 for it. It was the most expensive item on the bill. I was shocked and definitely won't be back. The reviews seemed good, but I was shocked by the food. Again, this isn't an authentic Italian restaurant. It's a strange mix that doesn't make sense. It's good for people who know nothing about Italian cuisine. It was also extremely loud and crowded, so we could only communicate by shouting. At one point, I was stuck between two tables and had to get a poor woman up in the middle of her meal so I could get out of bed because there was nowhere to go.

We've been here a few times when we were in Cologne. It was always a very authentic, small Italian restaurant. Unfortunately, this time was disappointing. The staff were mostly Indian; perhaps there has been a change of ownership. The truffle pasta served in a Parmesan wheel wasn't worth the €25. The Parmesan wheel already contained grated cheese, which then hung in large clumps from the pasta; it wasn't at all creamy. Our companion's pizza wasn't impressive either. The service was very nice, but a bit rushed with everything. She cleared the entire table while I was still eating. The two of us paid €96 for an appetizer and two truffle pastas.

Well, I highly recommend it! Very tasty pizza, reasonable prices, pleasant atmosphere. Good service. A pleasant compliment before the ready pizza in the form of sandwiches. Well, in general, I recommend it) the fact that it is right above the road - do not pay attention. This does not prevent you from enjoying the food and communication.

The staff was extremely unfriendly and rude. The chairs were wet, and we were told we weren't made of sugar and should sit down. On top of that, we were just touched. The bill was brought outside to everyone's table, but we had to go inside with seven people and pay standing there. We definitely don't recommend it.

The food and service were top notch and highly recommended. We will eat there again when we are in Cologne.

Awesome Italian restaurant. We were visiting friends from Kiel for dinner. Super friendly staff... Super delicious food (I had truffle pasta and the amazing tiramisu). You rarely get such good food for this quality. Plus, the atmosphere is nice. It makes for a fun evening.

After hearing so many good things about La Piazzetta, we finally went there. And we were thrilled. We had the grilled turbot, which was offered as a special. Absolutely delicious. The welcome from the kitchen was a small appetizer. Service was excellent. However, the noise level isn't suitable for a candlelit dinner. 😀 We really enjoyed it.

The waiters were rude to customers who ordered drinks without food. I gave a 10% tip, but no thanks.

Extremely delicious food, whether pasta or pizza, hot, fresh, and very good! The waitress was incredibly sweet and friendly. For our little Parmesan-loving guest, the Parmesan was always promptly refilled, which was taken with a sense of humor 😅

Highly recommended. Very attentive staff. They even set up an outdoor table especially for us. The food was good, with a slight deduction for the carbonara (it doesn't have any cream in it... 😉). However, the ingredient isn't hidden on the menu. And it was still very tasty.

Nice little restaurant. Delicious pizza. I especially liked the "complement", they bring it to all visitors. Bread and spread (butter with herbs + olives) and sandwiches with marinated tomatoes. Very tasty. 😋 The price was also pleasing.

Italians with a history! By far Cologne's best Italian restaurant. I've always enjoyed being a guest at La Piazetta. The founder, Gianni, and his family have always enchanted their guests with dedication and culinary expertise. Now, his long-standing, loyal staff continue his motto. Everyone is welcome and treated like family. Highly recommended.

We were on a school trip and went there with the class to eat. At first everything was good and everyone was nice. The food came quickly and the pizza looked a disaster to be honest and the taste was exactly the same. At the end the waitress made a mistake and she was very disrespectful and we had to pay for something without having eaten it. I will not go there in the future and would not recommend it to anyone.

We ate at your restaurant today with friends. I was looking forward to a great meal and was disappointed. The basic ingredients of the food were tasty, but the presentation was rather mediocre. The vegetables were rather plain and mushy. You see what you see, and for this price, I expect something different. There's room for improvement here.

The pizzeria was very busy. We were lucky to get a table on a Friday evening without a reservation. The service was good; we had to move tables mid-meal because of a larger group, but we received a shot of schnapps on the house. The food was just okay. We had truffle pasta, cappaccio, vitello tonnato, pizza with salami, and mushrooms. We found it somewhat bland and lacking in seasoning.

A very centrally located restaurant with a large and beautiful terrace. An appealing menu with a variety of daily specials. Both the starter and main courses were lovingly prepared and incredibly delicious.

Very tasty food and good service

We stopped in spontaneously, got a nice outdoor seat, and the staff was very friendly and efficient. Bruschetta, olives, bread, and herb butter were immediately served on the house. The house wine, Rose, was absolutely fine. The Freddo starter plate was better and very well-organized... Main courses like baby calamari and pasta gamberetti were delicious! We were later given a complimentary espresso! We'd love to come back!

Ein charmantes Lokal mit netten Mitarbeitern. Das Essen, naja. Kalbsleber dünn und durchgebraten - schwimmend in Olivenöl. Dazu Spaghetti mit Knoblauch und Olivenöl, weit entfernt von al dente und trotz ein paar sichtbarer Scheiben Knoblauch, geschmacklos. Gerichte vollkommen überteuert - das gibt es besser und günstiger, auch in Köln.

Lamb chops, fish soup and also the veal liver were super tasty and fried to perfection. (Food where you can also be disappointed). The service was super friendly and relaxed. We felt very comfortable. Thanks for the lovely evening!

After a heavy disappointment at the Mauritus hotel, what a pleasure to have been welcomed by Juliane and her smile. She found us a table without delay despite a large crowd. Surprisingly good Italian. Service is excellent, as you would expect from a star restaurant. Food is just good. Dessert has room for improvement. Luciano Pavarotti working hard is great for the atmosphere!

We were on a company outing with our work colleagues and spontaneously went to this restaurant without a reservation. I had no expectations and didn't know the restaurant. I have to say that not only was the service excellent, but the food also tasted very good and the price-performance ratio was absolutely reasonable. We were all pleasantly surprised and I will definitely eat here again on my next visit to Cologne.

A fantastic restaurant with southern energy and great food. Not exactly cheap in price, but tasty and the preparation is flexible if you wish. One of my favorites in Cologne, where you should make a reservation. As a vegetarian, I would only like to be able to order a vegetarian lasagne. Maybe it'll make it onto the menu someday ;)

Very nice and attentive service, food exceptionally tasty and to the point. The open Lugano went well with the food. First we had an excellent classic carpaccio and as a main course a fantastic veal chop with spaghetti aglio e olio (see photo). For dessert there was tiramisu, also very tasty. The ambience is pleasantly lively and cheerful. Be sure to reserve in advance.

Anyone who wants to experience Sardinian spirit and cuisine has come to the right place: excellent, fresh cuisine, friendly service and always an eye on making sure nothing is missing. Special features: the fish soup is an absolute must, well seasoned, the fish is slightly glassy and sufficient for the price and portion size. From 10 p.m. with suitable music to sing along to and shed tears. Always my pleasure.

Heijeijei...so to start with the good thing...that was the highly motivated lady in service. However, the food...the pizzas have a cookie base...the toppings are similar to a frozen pizza. The supposed salami looked like a Cervelat sausage from JA and the vegetables looked like frozen. The menu offers a spaghetti carbonara with cream...that would make every Italian's hackles stand up. When asked whether you could also get an original carbonara, they said, “Yes, very much, the boys in the kitchen are happy about it!” So the expectations were high. We received two plates of spaghetti drowned in oil. The egg curdled, no guanciale but just any plain cube of bacon from the package. Completely inedible. We let the spaghetti go back and then got the cream version... without guanciale, of course. But completely overdone. This too is inedible. Only the starters of the mixed seafood plate and the Vitello Tonato tasted good. Otherwise there wouldn't have been two stars. All in all, the atmosphere and the clientele seem as if the over-60s in polo shirts with the collar turned up want to celebrate themselves here again... and it seems to be less about the food. Decoration and furnishings 80s style. Far too loud, you have to literally shout at your direct table. But apparently that's why people go here. I can't explain everything else.

We had reserved a table for business at 7 p.m. This worked without any problems. The restaurant is easily accessible, is located near the Neumarkt and is therefore easy to reach from the city on foot, by taxi or by public transport. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We were there for about 3 hours and had a complete menu sequence. The menu offers a large selection of pasta, pizza, fish and meat. Both various starters and desserts. There is also a small but adequate wine list. The service is friendly, but could be a little more attentive. The restaurant is quite loud, which is something to take into account when coming to entertain. The dishes had a good taste - but as we all know, taste can be debated. My pasta was no longer al dente, but tasted good. The bread served was too much baguette for me and not the classic Italian pane. Overall, a nice evening with good food.

I was here with my girlfriend last night. We were really deeply disappointed. My friend ordered the truffle pasta from the cheese body. There was no price anywhere, as it later turned out it cost €26. For the taste and the fact that it was cold, it was an absolute disgrace. The waiter was very pushy and sometimes unpleasant. Unfortunately the last time in this restaurant.

We were warmly welcomed. Bread with some kind of garlic butter and olives was served within a very short time. Both very tasty. The pasta with anchovies, olives, capers and sun-dried tomatoes was cooked perfectly al dente. Very interesting sauce. We really liked the noodles. Let's get to the salmon. Very well grilled, also with the rosemary, tomatoes and garlic. Very harmonious. There was a lack of salt and pepper, but they were added as desired. What I did dislike a bit were the side dishes with the salmon. Could have been a little more generous and not so bland and tasteless. Was the only critical point on this visit. Otherwise highly recommended. Not the last time!

The food was delicious and very nice we called and were placed immediatly they came up very quickly to take our order not even 30 minutes later the food arrived. The vibe of the place was very cozy and there were a lot of pictures from the owners making you feel welcome. The love they use to make the food was to taste i had the spaghetti carbonara and it was deliciously creamy and good. I would eat here again.

We have been eating at La Piazzetta more or less regularly for many years. For us it is the best Italian in town... The pizzas are very good. But the other dishes are also great. Last time I had porcini mushrooms with pasta and my wife had spaghetti with seafood. Super tasty. Absolutely recommended.

If a visit to an Italian restaurant in Cologne is worth it, then it is this one!!! From the service to the quality of the food, it's just MEGA!! If we come to Cologne again, we will definitely eat out again.

Authentic Italian cuisine. Just stumbled in on a rainy day and ended up in the heart of ❤️ Italy. Recommendation from the boss: Tagliatelle with wild boar ragout - we were absolutely thrilled. Top quality! Tender meat, perfectly seasoned and the tagliatelle on the side... it couldn't be better! We'll be back.

I had a very good Pizza Tonno. The plate was lavishly set. Dough very thin and crispy. I enjoyed it very much. The staff is very friendly and serves very quickly. The only detraction is the plastic chairs, which look very well maintained.

All in all a nice lunch. Food very tasty, service okay. Prices are sometimes a bit too high.

We paid €52 for 2x spaghetti with a hint of truffle and a bit of parmesan. Together with a really bad wine (Primitivo) and a bottle of mineral water we were at €108. What has actually happened to the prices, what is the relationship between all of this? Pasta has by far the largest margin in the catering industry, how much does it cost? Cents maybe?? The service was very good. However, the prices and the food on offer have no connection at all, it used to be nice, not anymore. We definitely won't be coming back. Continued success.

Exceptionally good food on a warm summer night

The food is great. Personally, I recommend the stuffed mushrooms as a starter and the fillet as a main course. The portions are very generous so come hungry.

The mushrooms are excellent. The pizza was pretty good average. The number 88 was a beef fillet with pasta. Both were so good that you wanted to sleep in them. Definitely recommended.

So for me it's more of a Mediterranean restaurant than an Italian one. Good selection of meat and pasta but too much garlic in all dishes for me. The service was very good and you can feel comfortable here.

Nos gustó el aspecto de este restaurante - un montón de mesas tanto por dentro como por fuera. No habíamos reservado, pero logramos conseguir una mesa fuera. Nos dieron bruschetta de cortesía y pan con baño de ajo, así que no necesitábamos un entrante. Nuestra comida (pizza y ñoquis) era muy sabrosa y el servicio era excelente.

The food was okay, but the service was very intrusive. As students, we don't want an aperitif, a bottle of wine, a starter or a dessert. This has been asked intrusively far too often. When we said no again at the end for dessert, the waitress asked herself, "Then the bill?" It really felt like you were being thrown out. So, if you're a little tight on cash or just want to go out for a relaxing meal, you might want to avoid this restaurant. However, given this intrusiveness, you shouldn't expect the restaurant's ambience to be as upscale as the service conveys.

Great service, friendly, hardly any waiting time, you can sit outside and the food, including greetings from the kitchen, also tastes great!
