Was there for a dinner. The food is OK. What is like is the vibe in the restaurant - a place for gathering with friends and family. It became quite full if there are football games and other big events as there are also provided live streams from a few big TV for their customers. This is their highlight.

The food always looks very good, but the ingredients could be of a bit higher quality... You can especially tell with the meat. My personal opinion would be that it's mid-range. So the prices are reasonable.

Our favorite bar on Pontstraße. We're regulars there. The atmosphere, the food, and the service are great! The seating, especially in the smoking area, is fantastic! You can watch football, enjoy delicious food and drinks. 😁 However, the restrooms are an absolute disgrace! The cleanliness leaves much to be desired. Either someone needs to be hired, or I need to keep a better eye on my customers.

The buffet isn't even mediocre. The antipasti is a complete disaster, except for the red sauce. It's too good for the ingredients used. The rolls are delicious. The cheese is soggy from the water. The cooked ham stinks. The egg is edible, but not necessary. The cocoa is completely over-sweetened. In conclusion, I'll try the cart again. The buffet was the worst I've eaten in Aachen so far. It's not worth the money.

We were there for a drink and a chat. The hot chocolate I ordered wasn't even lukewarm, and the nachos were a bit sticky. When we wanted to pay, we let them know, but instead of the waitress coming over to us, she cleared other tables. (The restaurant wasn't full, so there were plenty of tables still available.) After 10 minutes, we asked another waiter, who then came over. He didn't give us enough change without being asked, so he just tipped himself. Unfortunately, we were really disappointed :(

Pontgarten Restaurant is one of the most familiar and popular places in Aachen’s Ponttor area. It combines a bar, restaurant, and hotel atmosphere, making it a cozy spot to dine. It’s advisable to book a table in advance to secure a good dinner experience. The campfire setup outside added a warm and inviting touch. I enjoyed a drink (apple juice with sparkling water) followed by their signature dish, Ali Nazim, a Turkish lamb specialty. The flavors were outstanding truly a delicious and memorable meal.

I ordered a schnitzel with Béarnaise sauce here today, and unfortunately, the meat was spoiled. It smelled extremely strong and unappetizing. I ate about three pieces and immediately became concerned for my health. My companion also lost his appetite afterward. What was particularly disappointing was that the kitchen didn't even want to discuss whether the meat was spoiled. This simply shouldn't happen in a restaurant. It was a very unpleasant experience for me, and I unfortunately can't recommend eating here.

We always enjoy coming back to the Pondgarten Aachen. We'd especially like to highlight our wonderful waitress, Ayla. She does her job with such friendliness and attentiveness that we're always delighted when she serves us. She takes her time, is attentive, and makes us feel completely at ease. Thank you for the fantastic service!

It's a very large restaurant, always very busy. It's best to reserve a table. The food is delicious, but it was annoying that the side salad simply wasn't brought for the second time.

I really wasn't impressed with the burger; the quality and taste weren't particularly good. I also think the salad prices are far too high compared to other dishes.

Just nothing vegan... what's up! Sorry, but what century are we living in? So, really, nothing but fries... totally old school. A real shame.

The website says open until 3:00 a.m., but at 1:25 a.m. you're asked for your last round, then 10 minutes later the waitress comes with the bill. How outrageous!

We were here for a Friday lunch and had a good, reasonably priced meal. The schnitzel and pizza were delicious and not too expensive, and the food arrived really quickly. We'll be back.

There's a buffet and a la carte options. We ordered a la carte and the sandwich was very good. Good value.

Flies flies everywhere flies... Food is not cheaper eventhough people feel like it's cheap. Just check prices of foods at Uber eats, and it's cheaper and "no flies".

Always fantastic cocktails! The nachos here are also truly the best and a very large portion for the price. We've never had to wait for a table and have never experienced unfriendly service! They're also very friendly to tourists and helpful whenever needed. A wide range of vegetarian options, something for everyone. The price-quality ratio is also really good. Large portions for a small price! It does get busy sometimes (you're in a student neighborhood, after all), but it's never overwhelming. We come back here regularly and recommend everyone to go!

Very nice and lively ambiance in a huge covered heated terrace. Food is quite ok for the price! If you want a rich creamy pasta dish, go for the lasagna!!

If you wanna eat proper all-you-can-eat, just go across the street to white house. Much better selection and taste. Utter disappointment. Everything I tasted was below average. Also, one of the nametags for foods fell into it, staff pretended there was nothing wrong and continued onwards.

The Pontgarten is highly recommended. The cocktails are excellent, even the non-alcoholic ones. The food is delicious, the service is very friendly, and the atmosphere is, of course, very pleasant, especially in summer when the roof is open.

We were there with a friend around 10:30 a.m. today and wanted a leisurely breakfast. The waitress told us that the breakfast buffet wouldn't open until 11:00 a.m. So we waited – unfortunately, to no avail. When the buffet opened shortly after 11:00 a.m., we discovered that it wasn't a breakfast buffet, but a lunch buffet. When we asked, the waitress said they did serve breakfast, but it wasn't on the menu. She gave us a few options, and we decided on Menemen. What we were served wasn't Menemen, however, but a simple scrambled egg. We paid quite a high price for two portions of scrambled eggs – and unfortunately, we didn't like the taste either. After the long wait and the disappointing quality, we left the place disappointed. It was a shame, because we were looking forward to a nice breakfast.

We were there with the voucher book. We saw that people without the book got a significantly better meal. My girlfriend and I had different salads, some of which had brown leaves. The steak was carelessly placed on the plate. We'll give it another try, but won't show the voucher until after the meal. Update: The second attempt was significantly better.

Whenever I go to Aachen for dinner, it's almost always Poga! Super delicious food at super fair prices. The cocktails are always delicious, too, especially when Ahmed is working the cocktail bar! 😜😍 The atmosphere is always particularly nice despite the central location on Pontstraße...but it's best to see for yourself! It's definitely worth a visit or even several! 🤭👏🏻

In my opinion, the best location in Ponte. The food is always great and the cocktails are top-notch. They have a large indoor and outdoor area. The roof can be opened during the day when the weather is nice. The service is always friendly.

Booked with a group of colleagues of around 15 people and then you want a table arrangement that ensures that everyone can sit together. What do they do? A T-arrangement and therefore shows little insight into how guests want to sit together. Then it took far too long before they came to take the drinks. The menu is very extensive and that is usually a bad sign for the quality. Quality was mediocre, but the price was also on the low side so price-quality is correct. Recommended? No, not really because where they used to be able to offer much better quality and service, that is no longer the case.

If you don't have high expectations, you can go. But I'm not a fan of all the restaurants in Ponte.

This was our first time at this restaurant, but it definitely won't be our last! The food was great! The ambiance is also very nice. There are several dining areas. One has a completely retractable roof, making this area very bright and cozy.

Super beautiful, super tasty, super prices

I'm in Aachen once or twice a year and a visit to the Pontgarten is always a must. Despite the diverse menu, the food here is always very well prepared and very tasty. The quality of the ingredients is always consistently good. Even if the prices have risen again and again in the last two years, the price-performance ratio is fair. I will definitely come back.

There were so many employees running around and yet we were overlooked. Although we tried to draw attention to ourselves. As we were about to leave, a waitress came to the neighboring table to ask if we would like something else to drink and then took our order. It's logical that when there's a lot going on at the weekend, it's loud, but the TVs with music are also very loud and you can barely hear yourself, so it's inappropriate. When we had our drinks, the same employee came 3-4 minutes later and asked if we would like something else to drink!?! Our glasses were still full... the question was really inappropriate, with the glasses full. It was our first time there and we will leave it at that first time.

The restaurant is located in the student district of Aachen. Tasty food for a reasonable price. It is very noisy. A lot of people make a big deal about it. But highly recommended for good food and a cocktail

Ich war am Samstag im Pontgarten und möchte zunächst positiv hervorheben, dass die Mitarbeiter, die die Getränke rausgebracht haben, sehr nett, freundlich und aufmerksam waren – das war der einzige Lichtblick des Abends. Leider wurde der Rest des Besuchs zur herben Enttäuschung. Auf meiner Rechnung tauchten zwei Cocktail auf, den ich nie bestellt habe. Als ich diesen Fehler ansprach, wurde ich mit einer unprofessionellen und fast schon arrogant wirkenden Reaktion abgespeist – als ob man bewusst versuchte, mich abzuzocken. Ein solches Verhalten ist absolut inakzeptabel, und ich frage mich, wie der Chef dazu stehen kann. Ich werde definitiv nicht wiederkommen und werde jedem davon abraten. Es bleibt zu hoffen, dass der Chef endlich merkt, dass solch unverschämtes Vorgehen den Ruf des Hauses nachhaltig schädigt.

Food was very good, service was quick and attentive... I think you can eat very well here during the week... Unfortunately, we went out to eat on Friday evening. Probably not the best time. Very overcrowded with young people and unfortunately the smell of cigarettes from outside moves completely inside, so you have to air your clothes later... Thumbs up anyway

This was by far the most disgusting thing I have eaten in a long time. The schnitzel was really some kind of leather. I couldn't get through with my knife. It was also as dry as an average village in Africa. And the chicken burger was also inedible and was as tough as the sole of a shoe. In short, it was impossible to eat here. DO NOT GO HERE. I was here today with school and this was the worst ending ever. What a filthy mess here. The restaurant was also very ugly and hot. The coke was also rancid. We arrived and found this plate on the table (see photo). This was also not removed for us.

I had dinner there a few days ago and I have to say it was absolutely great. The pizza rolls are absolutely next level, the original homemade Turkish chicken soup tastes great and my main course was really great too. Furthermore, the price-performance ratio is top. It's just true here. An absolute recommendation.

Leider total enttäuscht diesmal, wir haben immer Verständnis wenn es mal länger dauert weil viel los ist aber 50 min aufs Essen zu warten war und doch zu viel. Auf Nachfrage haben wir uns auch vom Kellner nicht ernst genommen gefühlt. Er war mit den Kollegen am tanzen. Es hat schlussendlich auch nicht geschmeckt. Beim nächsten Mal einfach woanders Aachen hat viele schöne Restaurants…

There is a smoking and a non-smoking area. Unfortunately, the entire non-smoking area is, sometimes more, sometimes less, but so far every visit has been affected by the disgusting air from the smoking area. The food is usually completely fine, but in my opinion it is really affected by the dirty air. For obstinate smokers and people who don't care about the dirty air and smelly clothes, I would rate the Pontgarten with 4 to 5 stars.

There were five of us there. Everyone ordered something different. All the dishes were really delicious 😋 After a little faux pas, each of us got a short one. The waiters very nice.

Attention Drinkers-- if you stop in for just a drink, please note that you will be charged for the buffet as well. The server did not mention it until it was time to close out.

Mix up your food and wait too long

It was absolutely not recommended. Before we could place our order, 15-20 minutes had already passed. Then only the drinks order was taken. Then another 10-15 minutes passed before the drinks were served to us. After the drinks were served, we were finally able to order our dishes. The food came pretty quickly. The starter was ok but the main courses were just bad across the board. The schnitzel was more than dry, the meat on the house burger was already dead three times and the fries tasted sticky. The potato wedges were good. Since pretty much everyone still had a lot on their plate, the waiter didn't even ask if it was tasty or anything. The portions are huge for the money, but now it just has to taste good. The cocktail prices are really great, but unfortunately there was no alcohol. You searched for this in vain. The smell that came from the toilets makes you want to eat again. 🤢 We won't be coming back and wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

Drinks. took more then 10 minutes, it was very busy and they only had 2-3 waiters so it's understandable. Food came out very quickly and is very tasty and big portion and great value for mkney ( even my American friend thought the portions where huge) Restaurant itself looks great as well

Absolutely not recommended!!! Long waiting times, poor drinks, unfortunately the quality wasn't very good due to the large number of dishes. There are certainly better restaurants in Aachen.

We were there with 10 people on a Wednesday evening. The drink order already took 15 minutes! The food read better than it unfortunately was... I had the house burger with wedges... no one asked how you would like the meat... mine was almost fried to death... which made it a bit tough... my colleague's was just fried to death and tough... when we ordered the second round of drinks the wheat was sitting at the bar for a quarter of an hour. I ordered a Long Island Icetea and I preferred a Cuban one. Overall, only one dish was good and nine were mediocre...if I ever came here again I would order something else...because everyone deserves a second chance...but today was nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The first smell you encounter in this restaurant is that of the "washing room", not particularly nice. Everything is really well furnished, hence 4 stars for the ambience. When it comes to service, you wait 15 minutes before you can even order drinks (which are then served after 20 minutes.) I ordered a Weizen, which was only sitting there for 10 minutes and then wanted to be served with a fresh foam crown. After the drink was rejected, a new one was made for me, but the one that was returned was then served to someone else 🤔. The meal (houseburger) was topped with meat that felt like it had been fried throughout on the way from slaughter to serving. After three quarters of the food was returned, no one even asked if everything was okay. All in all, unfortunately not recommended.
