Podium in Aalen

The food and drinks are always delicious. But the service today was disastrous. Extremely rude and unfriendly staff. We ordered outside and had already waited over 20 minutes, but then decided to sit inside so our 6-month-old baby wouldn't freeze. We let them know, and our decision was met with a roll of the eyes because the lady said "now we have to rebook everything in the system for the new table." The cake was then shoved in our faces, and when we asked if my coffee really had oat milk, we got a grumpy "Yes, just like you ordered." No thank you, please, have a nice day... Awful. We lost our appetites and got up early. She cleared the other tables with similar aggression. Yes, the job isn't easy, but then you shouldn't work in the service industry if you're not motivated.

super nice restaurant in Aalen. Was there for lunch followed by coffee and cake and was pleasantly surprised. The cake was really great and looked very nice. When it's full it's a bit noisy but not annoying and of course unavoidable.

I've been going to Cafe Podium for years and it's always a highlight. No one else in the area puts so much effort into choosing drinks and food. Lots of new and trendy things. But also classic dishes. The staff is super quick and attentive. When it's really full they keep track of things and you have to give them credit for that. This job is not easy.

Great restaurant in the heart of Aalen. Mega relaxed atmosphere, I particularly noticed the music. Good selection of food and drinks. I particularly enjoyed the Salmon Avocado Lover. I can only recommend the Aperol tree from friends. Super open and friendly service. Gladly again!

We are on the podium several times a week and are always satisfied. It is a very busy restaurant and popular. The drinks and food selection is for everyone. Young and old alike will find what they are looking for and be happy here.

We reserved a table especially for Mother's Day. Unfortunately they couldn't serve us. We didn't get any food or drink and unfortunately had to go somewhere else because the kitchen was overloaded. Unfortunately, on a day like this and with a reservation, it was very disappointing. They could have at least given preference to people with reservations.

Unfortunately we waited over 1 hour for our breakfast, and that with children. Drinks were empty until breakfast arrived. Drinks also took over 30 minutes to reach us. Staff wasn't attentive either. We won't be coming back any time soon. The prices are not justified, the food is wrong, the soft-boiled egg was hard, etc... I have to change a few things.

We are there every Monday morning and are simply always satisfied. The service is very polite and friendly. We always leave with a good mood that comes from the service. Keep it up.

We were there for breakfast on Easter Sunday. The service team should get at least 10 stars. Such a good mood and perfect service. Our whole family was thrilled. The good mood accompanied us throughout the whole day. Thank you! And of course the breakfast was great too!

Not the first time here, something went wrong every time. But this time an outrageous high 10. Hottie Orange €6.90 (freshly squeezed orange juice) 90% water for almost €7. I say then bring me the same glass, taste only of water and ginger. rip off. What does the owner say? Is that how it has to be? And that with, sorry, I hear it every time.

Unfortunately the service is not very attentive. The butter pretzel with the soft-boiled egg that I ordered came much later than the cappuccino (I would have enjoyed both at the same time). First I got everyone else's food, then I was forgotten. It's a shame, at prices of €5.20 for a cappuccino with pistachios etc. The soft egg was also hard-boiled - that's probably why it took so long ;-) But I was only charged for the coffee. However, my “time out” was no longer what I had previously expected.

Great cafe, it's worth taking a break here. We were absolutely thrilled and would love to come back.

Overall, Podium Aalen is a perfect address for young and old, be it for a relaxed meal with friends or a special evening with the family. We'd love to come back!

Ordering took a long time, preparing 2 drinks even longer and I went in to pay after 20 minutes haha ​​it was delicious, but next time I would definitely go somewhere else

That's breakfast like an emperor! Refined food and drinks served with humor, a relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel good. Lots of nice outdoor spaces to watch the hustle and bustle of the city center. It's always busy, so it's better to make a reservation for groups of 4 or more people. The team is on the ball, because it still works quickly. Highly recommended. See you soon at lunchtime.

Yes...if you like it loud? Lots of guests on Saturday morning, very high noise level. Everything else was good.

The podium in Aalen is an absolute insider tip! We had a great time there, and that was not least due to the incredibly friendly staff Leti and Sascha. Both were extremely accommodating, warm and made sure that we felt completely comfortable. The atmosphere in the Podium is modern and inviting, and the combination of great service and pleasant ambience makes the visit a real experience. Leti and Sascha were always attentive, answered all questions in a friendly manner and made the evening perfect with their positive manner. We'd love to go there. With family. This time a bit disappointed with the food. The price-performance ratio wasn't right either. Unfortunately a little slackened. We were there for breakfast today and can only recommend it. Even though the restaurant was full, the service was super friendly, quick and great with children. There were extra cups for the children, gummy bears at the end and always a nice smile and a friendly demeanor. We always like to come back 😀

It was a nice evening as a single guest who simply treated himself to a quiet break at the end of the year. The ravioli with truffles was delicious and a warm Italian bread would be a great addition. We were there for breakfast on Sunday (breakfast on Sunday lasts until 3 p.m.). The drinks arrived quickly, as did the food. The breakfast burger was very tasty and Enzo's service made us completely happy :)

The breakfast was generous and of very good quality. - In between, the nice waiter came and asked if we needed anything else. Really totally on the ball! What we didn't like so much was our spot near the door, it was quite cool there.- Oh yes, the toilets were clean too. Ergo: If I lived in Aalen and or the surrounding area, the Podium would be my regular restaurant. - Full marks

Yesterday we had breakfast. They both ordered an American breakfast and a coffee each. After ordering, our coffee sat on the counter for a good 5 minutes before it was brought to us. The waiter preferred to take other orders, bring Prosecco to the staff and put away empty dishes. No one else was able to bring us coffee for a moment, so of course it was a bit cold after a while. After our breakfast came, I really thought it was a joke. The scrambled eggs were not scrambled eggs, but an omelet with a whopping two slices of bacon on top. The egg was very tasteless. At least the two pancakes tasted good. The fruit was sliced ​​so thin, the main thing is that it looks like there is a lot of fruit on the plate. After we finished breakfast quite quickly (because the portion was far too small) and no one asked in between if we wanted another coffee or something else, we wanted to pay. Nobody came by there either, so we went to the front and said that we wanted to pay. A few minutes later the waiter came and collected the money, i.e. paid with an EC card and the waiter then asked in all seriousness whether he could add a tip straight away. It couldn't be more brazen. For 36.80 euros this is all really a joke!!! The breakfast at the podium was really good and we enjoyed going there, but now never again!!!

In itself, the podium is a very nice place to end the evening with friends/colleagues or to have breakfast. The only thing that really bothers me is that the kitchen closes at a different time every day. For example, the podium is open until 11 p.m. If you come by at 8 p.m., the kitchen may or may not already be closed. I have the feeling that this always depends on how many guests are currently on site. I was there on a Friday and the kitchen was open until 10pm. The next day, it was only open until 8 p.m. This is very annoying when the opening times are the same. In addition, the opening hours of the kitchen are nowhere to be found. Conclusion: You can spend a very nice evening with a few drinks, but you should have eaten beforehand.

According to the entrance door there is a nice toilet but there is a lady sitting in front of the toilet and wants 1 euro. After asking the staff, who were then very unfriendly, there was no nice toilet, although there is a sign on the door, according to the city's website, the podium has a nice toilet. Could the sign be removed?

I would prefer to give zero stars. We wanted to have breakfast. Drinks were taken first. We weren't sure what we wanted to eat yet. We said we needed a moment. When we put the drinks down, the service staff left so quickly that we didn't have the opportunity to order breakfast. Nobody came to our table for an hour. Neither asking if everything is okay nor taking you in for breakfast. We were skillfully ignored at the next tables, which was often the case. We weren't even looked at... Never again!!

The order for the drink is taken and then you are forgotten when you want to order the food. And the service no longer feels responsible! Although the store wasn't even full!! In my opinion it's not worth leaving money there!

We have enjoyed going to Café Podium for many years, usually on some Friday or Saturday evenings, for a "nightcap" after a nice meal. Both the indoor and outdoor areas are very nice and cozy and the location is directly at the market fountain "1A". Unfortunately, as far as operation is concerned, things have simply stopped working there lately. Yesterday we had to wait 40 minutes (!) before we could even order (even though the waitress saw us as soon as we arrived) and another 30 minutes until the drinks came. The service was friendly, but it's hard to understand why it takes so long. Maybe it's because there aren't enough people serving at the counter and they've recently started offering so-called "drink trees" (racks with 8 - 10 ready-made spritz drinks in them). Then you have little chance with the two drinks you ordered... maybe the owner should think about whether that makes sense if there aren't enough staff there. In any case, it annoyed me.

We had breakfast at Podium last week and unfortunately, despite the great ambience in the beer garden, we weren't at all satisfied. First the positive: - The podium has a really nice and nicely decorated beer garden. This is also handicapped accessible. - The service was friendly. - The prices themselves are generally okay. On the negative side: - Actually there wasn't much going on, but we still had to ask several times and wait up to 30 minutes until someone came to take the order, pay, etc. - Unfortunately, after another 30 minutes of waiting, our coffee was served to us completely cold. The breakfast was unfortunately poor in taste and not appropriate for the price. The cheese was completely dried out around the edges, the rolls were hard and the yogurt was also served warm. I have strong concerns about whether the cold chain was maintained in this regard. - We didn't receive any cutlery from the waitress despite asking and waiting a long time, so we had to ask in the bar area ourselves. -Unfortunately the toilets were completely dirty. Overall, we will not have breakfast here again due to our negative experiences.

We were at the podium for dinner. 2xBowl were ordered. At first glance the salad appeared to have no dressing, so we ordered more vinegar and oil. The waitress brought a cruet with 2 bottles of oil, each containing dark particles. At first we thought it was a herbal oil. At second glance, the dark particles were small mosquitoes floating on the surface. That spoiled our appetite.

Nice location to sit outside. The Aperol for €7.20 is very watery/ice cube heavy and contains hardly any alcohol. Then it's better to increase/change the prices and mix a real Aperol. Very disappointing
