Overall, it was good. The food was tasty and plentiful, and the waitresses were very friendly and attentive. The biggest problem was that we were given a menu in English with one set of prices, but at the end of the meal, the bill showed different prices with increases of €3-4 per dish. It was during dessert that the waitress informed us that the prices we had seen were incorrect and that the correct prices were on the German menu. Therefore, we weren't very happy with this, as it detracted from the overall experience.

Simple restaurant but top fresh food, small, fine lunch menu for little money, freshly prepared and varied, crisply prepared with bite and pep, toasted black bread with diced tomatoes and parmesan, a great starter and then a daily recommendation, you can't go wrong!!!

We were here for an early dinner. We all had a large field salad, which I think had tuna on it (?), but no one was quite sure. The baked apple in the salad was particularly tasty. My father and brother had the chicken breast caprese and chicken curry, and they were both very happy with their meals. We also had tortellini alla panna, which were quite good but a bit salty. I had piccata Milanese and wasn't very satisfied with it; the chicken breast was very salty, the pasta was a bit overcooked, and the sauce was very watery. I would like to give it 3.5 stars, but the service was very friendly, so I'll round up to 4.

We wanted to go out for a relaxed drink and remembered the Platzhirsch as a very cozy place. Unfortunately, this restaurant is very run-down... the floor was dirty and the restrooms were far from ideal.

We went there for a girls' breakfast. There was a great selection of different breakfast options. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere is rustic and very cozy. The staff is very friendly and efficient. We'd love to come back. I would recommend making a reservation, though.

Everything was great, but unfortunately, I have to deduct points because of the toilets: I've never seen such awful yellow toilet seats. A tip for the restaurant owner: you can get new ones at the hardware store for €15-20 🤔 - my brother-in-law is a chef and once told us that you should actually check out the toilets before ordering, and that's exactly how the kitchen was 🫣😵‍💫🥴

Fantastic restaurant! The baked potato with strips of rump steak was simply delicious – perfectly prepared with an excellent sauce. A big compliment to the chef Sergei and the friendly, attentive team. Highly recommended!

We were at Platzhirsch last night and had a salad with rump steak strips. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed with the salad; some of the leaves were very wilted, and the dressing wasn't particularly special either. The strips, however, were quite tasty and very tender. The service wasn't particularly attentive; it took a long time for our plates to be cleared and for us to ask if we wanted anything else to drink. The staff was very friendly, and the rest of the salad looked good.

Great breakfast buffet. It was our first time there. Everything was perfect. Large selection, great prices, delicious ingredients, whether it was a choice of rolls or salmon, roast beef, etc. 👍We were a larger group and everyone was thrilled. We've already reserved our Christmas dinner. 👌

❌ Absolutely disgusting experience ❌ We had lunch at Platzhirsch in Weinheim today. I ordered spaghetti with salmon. While I was eating, a large black blowfly suddenly appeared under the pasta. At first, I thought it might have flown in by accident, but with the next spoonful, a second blowfly actually crawled out of the pasta. By then, I'd finally reached the point of disgust. I immediately showed the plate to the staff. It was cleared away without comment, and they asked me if I wanted another dish—but of course, my appetite was gone. I didn't have to pay for the dish, but I still didn't receive any sincere apology or even a small gesture like an espresso or aperitif on the house. Instead, the whole thing was simply silently dismissed and dismissed. For me, this was by far the most disgusting experience I've ever had in a restaurant. Two blowflies under the pasta—that's absolutely unacceptable. We've also reported the incident to the health department, as we believe this is definitely no longer a coincidence. ➡️ We're absolutely certain: We won't be eating here again.

Good food and friendly service. We had the pike-perch fillet wrapped in bacon and the rump steak. The wine list could offer more local wines by the glass.

We had our wedding catering done here, and both we and our guests loved it! From the initial (extremely straightforward and pleasant) contact with us, including the joint creation of the menu, the very fair pricing, and the smooth delivery and pickup of the dishes, everything went perfectly. And, of course, the most important part: the food was creative, beautifully presented, and everyone enjoyed it immensely. We highly recommend it. Many thanks to the team.

The Platzhirsch has a lot to offer in terms of cuisine: The dishes are consistently delicious and freshly prepared. We especially enjoy coming here for breakfast, which is served until 3 p.m. – ideal for late risers or a leisurely start to the day. Payment options are also straightforward: both cash and card payments are accepted. Overall, the Platzhirsch is a place we're happy to return to again and again – whether for a relaxed breakfast or a good meal in a friendly atmosphere. A definite recommendation for Weinheim!

The food was delicious. But more attention should be paid to cleanliness. We sat outside, and the table was sticky and littered with seeds and leaves. The menu was handed out carelessly, and nothing was cleaned. The restrooms also need to be checked more often.

Located on Weinheim's market square: For me, it's number one for breakfast and salads. Great breakfast variations with high-quality ingredients. Special praise for the Bircher muesli. They also have chocolate cream from Chocolaterie Cacao, and homemade jam to boot. I also highly recommend the Sunday brunch, with roast beef, salmon, fruit salad, waffles, and much more. The cheese is only the finest! The salads are also excellent, with imaginative dressings.

We've been to Platzhirsch a few times and have always been impressed by the food, service, and atmosphere. The drink selection is much more varied than the other restaurants on the market square. They even always provide a water bowl for our dog. We'd love to come back 🫶

Zur Zeit das beste Restaurant am Platz. Bedienung etwas langsam, aber freundlich. Der offene Wein kommt ungefragt in einem kleinen Kühleimerchen mit Eis. Gute Weinauswahl, gute Salate und kleine Gerichte. Ich komme seit Jahren.

If you want to pull stitches like a doctor, this is the place for you. Any restaurateur who offers something like that has no respect for their guests. Bedingung said I'm not the first to complain about this.

Unfortunately, we had to wait over 20 minutes without even getting a menu. It was busy, but a quick signal from the staff or at least a menu would have been nice. We left. What a shame.

Only after waiting 30 minutes were we informed that the sea bream we had already ordered was no longer available. The other dish had already arrived. What a shame. The food was quite okay, but expensive.

Feedback on Wedding Catering We would like to thank Mr. Auer and the entire service team from the bottom of our hearts for their wonderful support and care at our wedding in May in Straßenheim. A special compliment goes to the kitchen: The food was an absolute highlight! From the appetizers to the main courses and dessert, everything was excellently prepared and received high praise from all our guests. Our vegetarian guests were also delighted – the selection was exceptionally good. And our request to make the buffet both gluten- and lactose-free was easily accommodated. We would also like to highlight the excellent service: The entire team was attentive, friendly, and well-organized at all times – both inside and outside. We highly recommend Platzhirsch! We were initially brought the wrong food, but that's not a big deal—it happens sometimes. However, they apologized several times for the situation and offered us a free drink! Extremely friendly staff, delicious food, and a lovely atmosphere right on the market square, especially when you can sit outside. We'd love to come back!

Top dog was on site for the catering at my sister's wedding. Not only was the food worth more than 5 stars, but also the service. Communication throughout the day was great.

Overall a nice restaurant. We were there spontaneously to enjoy the beautiful weather. The salads were great, everything is freshly prepared. You can tell there is a lot to do for the workforce. No matter, this team works in an organized, highly professional, calm manner and never loses track of things. Unfortunately I have to deduct a star because the currywurst is served with an exceptional sauce. The bratwurst is cut into several pieces and brought to the table in a cup like sausage soup, with the French fries separated in a basket. The curry powder is not visible here. For the sauce! Which is not a sauce, but a soup. You could also have a spoon. Danger! Not suitable for children, very spicy 🌶️🥵 Unfortunately the selection of beer is limited, only regional. Acceptable prices

The location and location are really good. I was also happy with the food. Unfortunately, the service that day was a bit overwhelmed and probably understaffed, which is why we always had to wait a long time. But I would definitely come back.

Friendly staff, but not particularly attentive. The seating, some with benches without backrests, is not suitable for everyone. We found sitting uncomfortable. In our opinion, the price/performance ratio was not good.

We had a lovely evening with very tasty food! However, also very inattentive service staff. Were too busy chatting at the counter... when you were finally allowed to order something, something was often forgotten and/or mixed up or served that wasn't even ordered.

The breakfast offering was very good, with a wide selection of fresh and delicious options. From savory dishes to sweet treats, there was something for every taste.

Everything was great, although quite expensive. It was worth it though! The portions were generous.

We were there for breakfast, which is a buffet. That's also the reason for the one star less; in my opinion, the place is too small for that. The buffet is set up partly on the counter and partly on tables facing each other. This makes it very cramped when there's someone on either side, and it's certainly uncomfortable for guests seated right at the front of the buffet. Otherwise, the selection and quality were excellent. The service was also good, and despite the coffee machine issues, they were very attentive.

We ate there over the weekend, and it was delicious! The prices were okay, quite normal for the market square. It tasted great.

I've eaten there several times and have always left satisfied. Whether it's the service, the food or the ambience, everything is right.

Delicious food with a large selection in a nice atmosphere. Guests' allergies are also taken into account! The service was very good.

Unfortunately, our visit to the Platzhirsch was very disappointing. The fries were way too light and dripping with grease, the crispy chicken burger was also very greasy. The buns were cold on the outside and burnt on the bottom, giving us the impression that they may have been fried hours beforehand and then stored in the fridge. The pepperoni and aioli were okay, but unfortunately the bread was soggy. The hefeweizen was also only lukewarm. Only the mineral water was cold and tasted good thanks to the lemon. Overall, the top dog has significantly decreased in quality and no longer corresponds to what it once was. We won't be coming back.

The penne with goat cheese was totally soggy and drowned in the sauce. Unfortunately, there was hardly any taste of the goat cheese. We couldn't finish the dish and sent half of it back. The quality of the restaurant had deteriorated significantly - it was simply not edible.

So with all that is sacred to me, that wasn't yesterday at all. Unfortunately, 3/4 had massive stomach problems (“diarrhea”) afterwards. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio of the hot dishes wasn't right. Covid-19 has not left our beloved top dog unscathed. However, the conditions were very difficult, hence an extra star. The second star is because a marriage proposal took place opposite. The only highlight. After some time now, I unfortunately have to revise my rating. The wait staff had absolutely no interest and were as unfriendly as Schmitz cat! A beautiful Saturday evening was ruined! :-(

Were here today, didn't make a reservation, but we still found a place outside in nice weather. Portions great for the price, tastes good and is hot! Drinks are refreshing and the service is very nice. Come again!

I think breakfast is possible until 3 p.m. which is great. The platters were freshly prepared (were only warm, which was a little difficult for sausage and cheese). But the food was delicious, especially the grain bread was great. The music was just a bit inappropriate for the place - more like German rap, but it did amuse us at times. The service was also attentive, but another guest had previously complained about the lack of attention. I'd love to come back, maybe for dinner sometime.

Unfortunately, we were no longer served here on Saturday evening despite reservations with a group of 10 people 'as the kitchen would be closing soon'. We had been assured by phone beforehand that it would still work. Unfortunately, people in the restaurant no longer felt bound to this promise. Hospitality is different!

Restaurant am Marktplatz, gemütlich. Wir waren zum Mittagessen da. Die Speisenauswahl ist gut, das Essen hat uns allen gut geschmeckt. Leider war das "Extra-Dessert" schon ausverkauft; das von der normalen Karte schmeckte gut. Freundlicher Service.

Were there for the first time. At first they didn't pay any attention to us for 10 minutes, so we went to the bar and asked if they could serve us. It can happen, okay. Then we ordered, among other things, a Jägerschnitzel. What came was a rump steak with hunter's sauce. After 2 rounds of discussions between the kitchen and service as to whether it was a schnitzel or a steak, it was finally explained to us that the schnitzel at the top dog is always a steak. I have to say that the whole thing is noted in the ingredients on the menu and it was partly my own fault. But when the waitress explained to us that “the guests are always surprised by this when serving” I asked myself whether we shouldn’t weigh up the benefits of it. Furthermore, with a steak costing over €20, I expect that people will at least ask me about the degree of doneness. Then the whole thing would have been noticed. After we told the waitress that we could say yes to it at the table when, according to her, so many customers were surprised, all we got was a dirty look and no answer. Unfortunately for me it's not worth another visit due to the unprofessional handling.

Yesterday we had breakfast at the top dog. It was very tasty there and it has a nice atmosphere. Our waitress Muriel was very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Modernes Ambiente, trotzdem sehr gemütlich. Umfangreiche Speisekarte, auf der jeder etwas findet. Wir waren in einer größeren Gruppe hier, und haben den Abend doch sehr genossen. Auch mit geäußerter Kritik an einem Getränk ist man hier sehr freundlich und professionell umgegangen.

Mittwoch ist Schnitzelabend. Habe ein richtig gutes Schweizer Schnitzel gegessen. Die jungen Damen im Service waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Der Platzhirsch war voll besetzt, die Atmosphäre und das Ambiente angenehm. Für mich eine klare Empfehlung. P.S. auch für Vegetarier gibt es interessante Gerichte.

Hallo. Ich war das erste Mal im Platzhirsch essen , und zum letzten Mal. Ich hatte eine Bauernpfanne bestellt. Meine Frau das gleiche. Das Essen war nur lau warm. Das Spiegelei zu lange gebraten. War trocken. Die "Bratkartoffeln" waren nur Kartoffeln gekocht und einseitig angewärmt und viel zu groß. Ca.4-6 cm Durchmesser. Die Zwiebeln waren kalt unter den Bratkartoffeln versteckt. Alles in allem das schlechteste Essen was ich gegessen habe. Und das für fast 18 euro. und versalzen waren die Kartoffeln auch noch. Habe das Essen zutück gehen lassen. Bekam nur zur Antwort...... wir können ihnen kostenlos einen Schnapps anbieten. Als ich sagte , ich fahre Auto...bekam ich zur Antwort. Tja..Pech gehabt. Fand ich eine Frechheit. Das Essen musste ich für 2 pers. Voll bezahlen. War die 2.Frechheit. Ich bin keiner dwr ständig meckert , aber das war unter ste Schublade.. Das betrifft aber nur mein Essen... Wünsche guten Hunger.

Frühstücksbuffet an einem Feiertag. gut waren: Brötchen, käseplatte, Wurstplatte, Lachs, Roastbeef, veggie wantans, die frisch zubereitete Eierspeise, Nachtisch Auswahl. weglassen könnte man die Gnocchi (pampig, nach gar nix geschmeckt) und die Maultaschen. Kaffee furchtbar (bitter). Preis mit 17€ OK. daher grad noch 4. Service war OK, aber ein paar einfuhrende Worte für erstbesucher sollte man nicht aus der Nase ziehen müssen und eine Brotzange sollte selbständlich sein, das ist sonst hygienisch grenzwertig. daher nur 4von5 Atmosphäre super, wenn man draußen sitzen kann, drinnen so lala.

Wir waren heute an einem sonnigen Sonntag im Platzhirsch. Es war nicht übermäßig viel los, es war gut besucht aber überschaubar bei einem Personal von min. 5-6 Damen. Wir haben uns rein gesetzt wo es leer war und saßen genau gegenüber von der Bewirtung wo oft 2-3 Damen standen. Dennoch wurden wir ignoriert und nicht einmal gefragt, ob wir schon was trinken möchten. Es kam niemand auf uns zu. Dasselbe als wir unsere Essensbestellung aufgeben wollten und auch als wir zahlen wollte. Zum Service: Die Atmosphäre war eher angespannt,unentspannt.. und auf Nachfrage der Rechnung ein raues ‚Ja, einen Moment!‘ Mit Service hatte das ganze wenig zu tun. Das Filetsteak war lecker aber das Gemüse zu fettig und die Rosmarin Kartoffeln leicht verbrannt und ohne Rosmarin. Die Tortellini waren etwas geschmacklos. Der Lachs war gut.

Waren zum Frühstück und essen gab ein perfektes Frühstücksbuffet. Sehr zu empfehlen

Gutes Restaurant, aber die Preise könnten etwas niedriger sein für die Menge der servierten Speisen. Außerdem sollte man aufpassen, das Schnitzel ist KEIN Schnitzel, sondern ein Rumpsteak. Das steht auch auf der Speisekarte, kann aber auf den ersten Blick täuschen. Die Atmosphäre ist im Sommer gut.

Es gibt hier eine gute Frühstücks- und Getränkeauswahl.

Ich war heute mit einer Freundin zum Frühstück dort. Das Frühstück kann ich sehr empfehlen. Die Portionen sind sehr groß und alles ist frisch. Wir konnten draußen sitzend, das Leben auf dem Weinheimer Markplatz beobachten und den Blick auf die St. Laurentius Kirche genießen. Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zu vorkommend, allerdings waren sie manchmal nicht so ganz auf Zack. Als das Frühstück gebracht wurde, fehlte etwas. Erst als wir etwas nach bestellt haben, wurde leeres Geschirr mitgenommen, da wir viel Platz hatten, empfand ich das in dem Moment als nicht so störend.

Waren nach der Saunanacht im Miramar dort frühstücken. Sehr schönes Buffet, mit frischen Waffeln, traumhaften Backwaren, sehr gutem Aufschnitt und Käse. Waren wirklich sehr positiv überrascht. Einziges "Manko" wäre die Beschriftung der gekühlten mousse etc und der relativ (baulich bedingt) enge Gastraum, welcher aber zeitgleich auch Charakter hat 👍

Schön gelegen mit der Möglichkeit bei gutem Wetter auch draußen zu sitzen.

Schönes Ambiente nette Bedienung

Essen war in Ordnung. Innen war alles zu eng zusammen gestellt. Nicht gemütlich zum sitzen.

In puncto Lage und Ambiente schließe ich mich den anderen Guides an. Beim Essen hatte ich so meine eigenen Erfahrungen gemacht. Ich hatte nur einen "kleinen Hunger" und habe deshalb die Currywurst mit Pommes und hausgemachter Currysoße bestellt. Die Pommes waren gut, an Stelle einer Currywurst gab's eine Bratcurry, also eine, in Stücke geschnittene, Bratwurst. Offenbar ist das in BaWü aber so und ich war zufrieden. Die hausgemachte Currysoße - hier erwartet man automatisch etwas besonderes - bestand aus Tomatenmark, Wasser und natürlich Curry. Sie schmeckte etwas verwässert. Ich bin kein Koch, aber mit ein wenig Essig und Zucker hätte man sie retten können. So kann ich speziell die Currywurst mit Pommes NICHT empfehlen. Schade.

Der Marktplatz Weinheim ist immer einen Ausflug wert und im Platzhirsch haben wir sehr gut gegessen und wurden von einem tollen Service hervorragend betreut - wir kommen gerne wieder!

Schönes Lokal am Weinheimer Marktplatz. Natürlich besonders attraktiv, wenn man bei gutem Wetter draußen sitzen kann. Schon oft dort gegessen, es hat immer geschmeckt und der Service war stets sehr freundlich.

Es war extrem voll unter der Woche und die beiden Bedienungen waren nur am Rennen… innen und außen… Plätze waren vorreserviert aber leider nicht reserviert so dass wir dann innen sitzen mussten… sehr schade… bis wir bestellen konnten vergingen 30 Minuten.. die Tapes Platte für 20 Euro pro Person hatten wir bestellt und hier auch echt was erwartet… aber was ein halber Semmelknödel mit tapas zu tun hat ist mlr schleierhaft… das hätte man mal vorher kommunizieren sollen… Geschmacklich aber gut… trotzdem kein Erlebnis

Angebote an brunch gab es nicht,nur kalte Speisen,kein müsli.bei einen Frühstücbüfett ist das ein muss bedienjng hat sich bemüht,aber Küche und Theke kamen den wünschen kaum nach.zj viele Gäste auf Gleichen Zeitraum zugelassen., sonst ging das besser. Kann es bestimmt besser organisieren, dann noch empfehlenswert.

Noch nie hab ich so einen schlechten Service erlebt! Beide Bedienungen am heutigen Abend waren einfach extrem unfreundlich! Es kam weder ein bitte noch ein danke. Das Essen wollten wir mitnehmen und man gab uns Plastik Behälter und dann hieß es nur ob wir das Essen selbst einpacken können!? Man hat weder gefragt ob alles okay ist noch ob das Essen geschmeckt hat oder ob wir noch etwas brauchen, wir mussten immer warten und die Bedienung selbst rufen. Nachdem wir gegessen hatten stand das Essen immer noch nach einer Stunde auf dem Tisch & es wurde nicht weg geräumt. Dann haben wir 40min auf die Rechnung gewartet obwohl nicht viel los war ! Geht absolut nicht so etwas !

Schönes Lokal am Marktplatz zwischen weiteren Lokalen. Das Essen war gut, am Geld verdienen waren die Servicekräfte aber scheinbar nicht sehr interessiert. Die leeren Gläser etc. standen bis zum Schluss auf dem Tisch. Die Karte ist überfüllt mit Alkohol. Preis entsprach dem aktuellen Preisniveau.

Es war wirklich lecker, tolle Auswahl auch von kleinen Gerichten, sehr freundliches u zuvorkommendes Personal

+ leckeres Frühstück + Preis-Leistung - unmotivierte, unfreundliche Bedienung - bringt o-Saft anstatt zu fragen ob Sekt oder Saft - Honig wurde bei zwei Essen vergessen - hätten gerne noch ein zweites Getränk gehabt, aber keine Bedienung mehr gesehen Werden beim nächsten Mal eines der anderen Zahlreichen Frühstücksangebote auf dem Marktplatz aufsuchen.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Auch preislich total in Ordnung. Beide Bedienungen waren sehr nett.

Das Restaurant Platzhirsch liegt am wunderschönen Marktplatz in der Altstadt von Weinheim. Ich empfehle zu reservieren, denn in Stoßzeiten oder bei gutem Wetter, ist das Restaurant immer sehr gut besucht. Das Essen ist immer klasse und uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Der Service ist immer schnell und gut, außer einmal, aber vermutlich war die Kollegin neu. Da muss man auch mal ein Auge zudrücken 😉

Mein liebstes Restaurant aller am Marktplatz. Freundliche Personal, gemischtes Publikum und gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Burger Abend Dienstags und Schnitzel am Mittwoch finde ich gute und preiswerte Aktionen. Mir gefällts.

Schlechtes Essen, super teure Preise und unfreundliches Personal. Die Kellnerin lässt ihre schlechte Laune an Kunden aus. Ich würde es niemanden empfehlen!
