Pizzeria Marienkäfer in Berlin

What a load of crap... You reserve weeks in advance and still don't have a table. If you don't want to leave anything to chance while preparing for a marathon, better stay away from Ladybug. The pizzas looked quite tasty, though!

Found this place on trip advisor and made a plan to have lunch here - it’s the day before my husband runs the Berlin marathon and he needs to carb-load! The reviews and restaurant didn’t disappoint- great service and delicious food. my husband went for the large Hepburn pizza…which had to be brought out by 2 waiters! I had the regular Dietrich. All delicious.

Very delicious food! The olives, oil, and herbs were very mild and flavorful. The pasta had plenty of garlic and chili heat with fresh scampi. The cannelloni was fresh and tomatoey, and the spinach and feta were well-balanced overall. The wasps outside were a bit annoying. The servers were mostly friendly and helpful. We didn't have to wait long for the food. The bruschetta is also highly recommended. Next time, we had pizza, but it was a bit too crispy in places. Delicious, but that could be improved.

Very good Italian pizza at prices ranging from €10 to €16. Draft beer €5.20. I recommend it.

Very nice food and service. Each table is decorated with fresh flowers. Try the mango&avocado salad. The restaurant is worth the money.

Berlin isn't complete without a visit to Marienkäfer. This time, too, we weren't disappointed. The food was delicious as always, and we received a very friendly welcome.

We were there as a group of seven, and even though we didn't have a reservation, we were given a table. We waited about 5-10 minutes for our food. Everything arrived at the same time and was also cheaper. For seven of us, we paid about €90 (including drinks).

Personally, I found it a bit too loud. I highly recommend the pizza!

If you don't mind self-service, you should definitely stop here. Perfect stone-baked pizza with a unique flavor. The menu's variety exceeds that of other Italian restaurants. Absolutely outstanding value for money. Beautiful ambiance and friendly staff!

I've been here several times, and I always receive super special treatment. The flavors are exquisite, the wine is exquisite, and the coffee is delicious. Obviously, the dishes are top-notch. The service is heavenly.

We were sitting comfortably together after a hearty (and expensive) meal and were (politely) thrown out 1.5 hours after our first order, even though the restaurant was less than a third full and we would have liked a little more peace and quiet. Hard to comprehend.

A very pleasant restaurant, with fast and cooperative service (also accommodating to special requests). The food is delicious. The price/performance ratio is very good.

I arrived and was allowed to sit wherever I wanted. It took a while for them to bring me the menu. The food was very good and the waitress was very friendly.

We visited here for a evening meal with kids. Food and portions are good. Pizza is not doughy and is with a nice thin crust. Good location. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Good and lovely atmosphere with great hosts.

We were in this restaurant twice, the first time was perfect in every way, the second time they took us to a place they have in front, I think it's called burger cafe, and they had a show of dancers on, which was really good to liven up the dinner, but every moment they came to you with shots for you to drink, I personally went there for dinner not to get drunk, and then they also pass you the bottle so you can tip the dancers, the truth is I had never experienced this before, well here in Berlin it must be normal. The food I insist was very good and abundant.

Really enjoyed this restaurant while in Berlin. I was solo and they got me a table right away at 6:30 on a Saturday. Service and Pizza were excellent - just like all of the reviews. They suggested a custom pizza (with spicy Italian salami) and it was fantastic. Highly recommend this restaurant.

The welcome, service, ambiance, and delicious food were all excellent. We chose this restaurant for Friday dinner, and even though we didn't have a reservation, we were lucky enough to find one last spot in the open section. Although the pizzas are named differently on the menu, we tried the Margherita and Burrata pizzas. Both were delicious and quite filling. It's hard to find good pizza in Germany that compares favorably to the Italian ones, so I highly recommend trying this place. The after-dinner treat was also very nice, and I especially thank the gentleman at the counter for his attentiveness. This is a place we'll return to when we're in Berlin. I highly recommend it.

I was here for the first time yesterday and was pleasantly surprised. The pizza had fresh toppings, the dough was nice and thin and crispy. I especially liked the homemade tomato sauce – not too sour, not too sweet. The service was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. The price was absolutely reasonable for the quality.

One of the best Italian restaurants we've ever been to! Highly recommended. We had bruschetta, gnocchi tartufa, and chanterelle pasta – everything was truly excellently prepared and a true taste sensation. The only minor drawback was that our table was right next to construction fences, which somewhat dampened the atmosphere. Otherwise, it was an all-around excellent experience – we'll definitely be back!

I ate there with my family last night and the food was excellent. The waiter who served us was super attentive and very friendly and even gave us a tiramisu on the house. The atmosphere was wonderful too. I will definitely be back!

The pizza is very tasty and the prices are okay for this location. Unfortunately, the staff is very inattentive and doesn't seem to really want to sell anything. First, we had to wait a very long time for our order to be taken, then we were left with empty glasses for almost an hour and a half without being asked once if we wanted another drink.

I ate here with my family twice in a week during our vacation in Berlin, food is excellent, great portions, sauces are delicious with all pasta menu. Service is great, people here are extremely friendly. Prices are very reasonable too. Totally recommend it.

The service and ambiance are impeccable. The bartender could easily be promoted to waiter. Very personable and accommodating. The non-Italian dishes should be removed from the menu. It doesn't make sense for the concept. The pizza needs improvement. My Sartre pizza seemed a bit wild. I think spicy salami and Gorgonzola just don't go together. The onions were cut much too large. Most importantly, the dough hadn't been resting well. It was too tough and seemed too thick. P.S.: This is all my opinion, of course, and you're welcome to disagree.

We're in Berlin for a short break with our kids. We wanted to go to an Italian restaurant because of the kids; pasta is always a good idea ;) We chose the restaurant based on the reviews. And we weren't disappointed. The food was excellent and the price was reasonable.

I ordered the lasagne, and although I usually can’t finish a full portion, this one was surprisingly small. For the price, it was quite a disappointment. I guess that’s why they include a piece of bread on the side. The taste was okay, but definitely not great.

Very good pasta dishes (Pasta Tartufo, tagliatelle di Filetto). Cozy atmosphere, service-friendly staff. Even our dog was allowed in. We hadn't booked a table but the restaurant filled up quickly so booking is recommended.

Italian restaurant. The pizza crusts seem frozen and they don't have Lambrusco. An Italian restaurant without Lambrusco? The pizza sizes are great, with the 32 cm one serving enough for one person, and the price is very good. If you're looking for crispy, wood-fired pizzas, this isn't the place.

A truly wonderful restaurant. The waiters were consistently pleasant and friendly. I was in Berlin for work and was there four days in a row because everything was just perfect!

Food was really good, but communication with the waiting staff was difficult. No one told us that burgers were available only on the other side of the street. We had to triple ask about everything. Nevertheless, the food was very good and that's the reason to return to this place.

Cannot fault this place: very welcoming, vibrant, excellent food (gnocchi and pizza on our visit). Multiple languages spoken. If this wasn't a holiday visit, I could go back again and again!

No cloth table napkin, with sauce-based pasta dishes that would be recommendable. Cutlery was dirty. Food was nice but not traditional (carbonara), however the bread accompaniment was disappointing. Service was good. Overall I was left just slightly disappointed based on the average rating of this place being as high as it is. The price was good value.

The only things I liked in this restaurant were the pasta and the rather pleasant atmosphere. The service was very cold and distant — they didn’t even wish us a good meal. We also ordered a pear salad, which turned out to be tasteless; the pear itself wasn’t fresh, and the other ingredients were roughly chopped. There were also three strange sauces on the side.

A very nice Italian restaurant. The food was plentiful; the large vegetarian starter plate was easily enough for four people. The staff was friendly, but it was sometimes a bit difficult to get the attention of the waiter in charge. Since we were attending the show at the Friedrichstadtpalast afterward, we were a bit stressed, but everything worked out well.

Expectations were high; my pizza was burnt around the edges, with a very thin, crumbly crust. My wife's salad was mush. The Aperol Spritz had no carbonation. We were disappointed.

The ambiance, service, food, and value for money were top-notch. My only criticism: the gangster music we heard when we were here wasn't my cup of tea. 😂 Otherwise, I absolutely recommend it!

This was our first time at this Italian restaurant and we were absolutely thrilled with the food! Both the pizza and pasta were fantastic – fresh, flavorful, and truly delicious. The service was initially very attentive and quick, even though the restaurant was busy. Unfortunately, the service slowed down a bit later on as it emptied out – we had to wait longer, and the waitresses were barely visible. That was a bit of a shame, but it only slightly detracts from the overall very positive impression. The location is great – quickly accessible by train, making it easy to visit even without a car. We'll definitely be back!

THE REVIEWS ARE NOT MADE UP!! Superb start to our trip. The best chicken penne (Alfredo style) iv ever had, the best ravioli my US cousin has ever had, brilliantly fresh and tasty pizzas - made in an authentic way, even my mums soup was delish! Service was attentive, helpful and friendly. Price was high but that’s pretty much everywhere now. We may go again!

We came for lunch. We ordered steak and pizza with soft drinks. The pizza was delicious and hot. The steak was dry. We asked for medium and it came medium well. Nice atmosphere.

Given the number of reviews and an average of 4.8 stars, I had high expectations. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. The restaurant itself is very atmospheric. We were also helped quickly. The employee did his job, but unfortunately he could not smile. The lasagna was not special. My husband really liked his pizza, however. We both found the chocolate mousse tasteless. So, a great restaurant in itself. However, the differences in service per employee and taste experience per dish seem to be very big.

I definitely recommend it. Absolutely perfect environment, perfect taste.

I didn't feel like I was in Berlin at all with you. A little rhyme as a thank you. The food came so quickly, we hardly had to wait. Eating with you, our evening could now begin. A real competition between service and food. Who will get the better rating, who will compete? Everything was perfect, a gem in the heart of Berlin. Next time, rest assured, we'll go back! Very tasty pizza and pasta. The pizza dough was well baked and there were a lot of toppings and good quality. Pasta with chicken is my favorite. Pasta cooked to perfection and the sauce was creamy and very cheesy. It is worth going there if you are in the area
